The new edition of this successful text provides students and instructors with a definitive multidisciplinary approach to organizational behavior. It provides concepts, theories, models and frameworks to help understand behavior in organizations. Readers are encouraged to challenge current thinking critically in relation to their own ideas and experience, exploring alternative perspectives. Throughout, the text emphasizes how organizational behavior ideas and methods apply in practice. The widely-informed social science perspective and the clear, authoritative, and engaging writing style remain the same. Most of the pedagogical features of the fourth edition have been retained, including- learning outcomes and key concepts, stop exercises, recap and revision sections, cartoons and other illustrations, annotated springboards into further reading, an updated glossary and the unique Home viewing and OB in literature ideas.
This book discusses a wide span of topics in HR and social sciences. This includes massive topics of theory and related concepts, models and references. Although some examples from practice are listed, further links to business examples with evaluation of options and results of made choices will definetly improve the readers' experience. HR employees and social scientists may find a lot of use for the ideas listed on this book.
A very well laid out text, with everything, including futher references, which you will need. A bit longer than necessary, though. It could have been condensed in many parts, where it stated the obvious.
Had the pleasure to be a student of the author of the book. The book itself is very well structured, clear and interesting. Overall, it was a great start in my academic reading for Business and Management.
