This is one of those strange books that appears to be made up of a number of pieces of artwork from various artists with a vague concept - usually after the original art has been created.
In actual fact this was the other way around as many of the artists who have their work featured here go on to host books dedicated to their work later on from the same publisher - its almost as if it was to test the water (it wasn't as I believe the concept of these books were an experiment that gathered momentum after each success)
However either way this is a great book to showcase so many amazing artists of the era - many who go on to have huge influence over fantasy and science fiction art for many years to come
This book was amazing!!! The book shared both action, sadness, and happines. Icarus flied to close to the sun and died from drowning beacuse of the wings failing. His father was a builder and was inprisoened by King minos and escaped but costing his son his life. The book was great , I rate it 4/5 tacos!!
Muy buena selección de artistas, con geniales ilustraciones agrupadas temáticamente tras unos textos más o menos inspirados sobre temas muy metafísicos, muy años 70.
Although there are sections of text throughout, this is primarily a collection of artwork from a range of fantasy and science fiction artists. Highlights amongst the fantasy oriented section include a Thoth Amon piece from Barry Windsor Smith, a couple of dinosaur pieces by Berni Wrightson, some Jeffrey Jones, and a couple of nice pieces from Mike Kaluta. The sci/fi section includes works by Syd Mead and others. A nice collection that was published in 1977.
