She must protect the Spear of Destiny at all costs He must bring the lady safely home But the powers of darkness chasing them have other ideas
Lady Cristiana D'Clere, the new protector of the Spear, is on the run from the steward of her estate, who has kept her drugged for years. All she ever wanted was to be safe, marry well, and raise a bevy of wee ones. Instead, she is far from home, chased by men intent on killing her and stealing the Spear of Christ for its incredible powers.
Sir Jarin the Just has never forgotten the woman who stirred his heart like no other. Determined to find and restore her to her proper place as Lady of Luxley Castle, he sets out on a journey fraught with more dangers than he ever could have foreseen. The biggest danger is to his heart, for he has vowed to remain unfettered and never surrender his freedom to a woman.
Though the Spear protects the couple along their journey, Cristiana must learn to trust the One whose blood stains the relic, while Jarin must learn to rely on powers far above his own knightly skills. For the dark magic that is chasing them may take all the powers of heaven to defeat.

With a sweep of her magnificent quill, author MaryLu Tyndall takes the reader on a hair-raising, action-packed medieval journey—replete with handsome, chivalrous knights, lovely maidens, malevolent enemies, and exhilarating, terrifying battles!
Lady Christiana D'Clere is quite the heroine...compassionate, vulnerable, yet strong in her beliefs that the spear she now protects has the ability to help others. I could totally relate to Christiana for even though she believes in God, she feels undeserving of His love or answered prayers because so many troubles have befallen her. The lush greenery and beauty of Emerald Forest is now her home as an evil, malicious force has chased her from her estate, and the charming, womanizer Sir Jarin steps in to help. Sir Jarin has problems stemming from his past and he's the perfect bad boy, er…knight, I should say. I couldn't resist him any more than Christiana, and ooh, the romantic tension between the two. You could cut it with a knife!
What ensues is a battle between good vs. evil—creepy, dark demonic forces against the powers of Light. Some of it was pretty spine-chilling reading and I'm so grateful we can't see the vileness of the satanic spirit world or it would scare us "slap to death" as we say in the deep South. A beautifully written novel with plenty of descriptive imagery, non-stop excitement, and a strong message of Christ's redemptive love and healing power, be sure to put this one at the top of your wishlist!

'Evil is astir this night. It begs entrance to this holy place.'
MaryLu Tyndall brings us her second novel in the 'Protectors of the Spear' series and it is so good. The Spear is supposed to be the one which pierced the Savior's side at His crucifixion and great powers lie within it. Lady Christiana D'Clere is the new protector of the Spear, her sister Alexia being the first. Lady Christiana has been kept drugged by the wicked steward of her family's estate, he wanting control. There is also an evil bishop to deal with along with two who tread deeply into the dark side.
Christiana has escaped and is running for her life, protected by Sir Jarin the Just. He is determined to restore her to her rightful place as lady of Luxley Castle. But they will have to face many obstacles, both of a physical nature and from the spiritual realm. And Christiana must learn to trust that even though the blood of the Christ stains the relic, the power within her comes from God Himself. Sir Jarin has to learn to rely on powers greater than his own as a knight, as the dark powers that chase them seem only to grow stronger.
MaryLu Tyndall is a wonder at these spiritual warfare novels. She opens her readers' eyes into that realm where evil does indeed fight against the right. I read this one in only one day. I am a forever fan. I very much recommend this one.
*My thanks to the author for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
A truly enchanting tale!! and in a way much more different than what I"m used to reading by this author. But overall, it was very enjoyable!! I couldn't put the book down!! I burned some midnight light reading this book and let me tell you reader friends!! Some of this book really made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!! Wow!! This book is 2nd in the Protectors of the Spear series. This book will make you want to sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. The character are wonderful!! but, there are some who will be shady in this story too Marylu is a wonderful writer and knows how to tell a story to make you believe that you are actually in the book with Christiana D' Clere is truly a heroine. She's my heroine because I love her kind, caring and vulnerable ways in which she uses the spear. She uses it for the good to help others. I like that she has a very strong love for God. There are times that she feels undeserving of His love but, then don't we all? Are we not all a work in progress? I love how this author portrays good and evil and shows that there are dark forces all around us. These are the same evil forces that has run her off from all that she has loved. I love the knight Sir Jarin. I love it that he wants to step in a help in any way he can to set things right. Just this past week our preacher preached on darkness. I think Marylu and my preacher Joe got together and discussed or hashed it out because I read a passage in where if the forces may seem very dark. He even shut his little flashlight off and all the other lights were turned off too. When he shown the flashlight, there was only a small small point of light. It was so dark that no a one of could see the other person!! Not even the one next to us!! Now that was sort of scary!! But, when he turned that little flashlight, it gave us hope. If that hope can get through then the darkness will run away Hallelujah!! I agree that money is the root of all evil. I think that it is the way people use it against each other. It can also leave you wanting for more until you are just never satisfied. God never leaves us but we walk away from He thinking that we can do things on our own. Not true!! What is that old saying Pride goeth before a fall? There is also a hidden message in this awesome book too! I love messages like that! There's this little saying that we can do things all through Christ if we turn unto Him. I enjoyed watching Christiana grow and learn about our Savior's love. His love is the sweetest gift that we can ever receive!! I encourage you my reading friends that if you don't know Christ please find someone that can lead you to Him!! You'll be glad you did!! I know I am!! My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own!
She Walks In Love by MaryLu Tyndale is a Christian medieval adventure with the love of God at its heart. It is the second book in the Protectors of The Spear series but can be read as a stand-alone. This is a novel that will consume you from the start as you journey with the characters through the novel. It is a good old fashioned fight against evil. Life is a spiritual battle. There is so much more than we can see, hear and touch. The forces of darkness rage against the light but the light still shines in the darkness. The darkness will not reign as God has already defeated it. Some battles cannot be won by pure physical strength alone. We need to put on the armor of God, stand firm and remember His truths. There are “entities that could not be defeated by sword or arrow, but only by the Word of God and the name of Jesus.” Prayer is our most powerful weapon. “Lord if you’re there…” Jesus walks alongside us and is only a prayer away at all times. The darkness may seem very dark but we just need a small chink of light to illuminate and the darkness will flee. Evil preys on our fears. We must fight it with faith. The novel is covered with love. A character dispenses love even to those who mean harm. She lives out the commandment to love our enemies. She puts on the love of Christ and wears the cloak of compassion. Money and power will corrupt if people continually want more for themselves. True wealth is always to be found in the love of God and the love of others. The novel is also about the prodigals returning. Characters believe (incorrectly) that God has abandoned them. God never leaves us but walks alongside us with love, through all our circumstances. When eyes and hearts are opened, this truth is known. The Protectors Of The Spear is a cracking series. It is exciting and covered with love. I am really enjoying it and cannot wait for the next book in the series. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
I believe I enjoyed Cristiana's journey with the Spear even more than I did Alexia's, but WOW to how much I am loving this series!! It's nearly impossible for me to enjoy the sequel more than the previous book, but in this case, I believe Tyndall achieved the impossible!
Loved how little Thebe is in the plot and how Jarin has to learn to balance his heroics with both Cristiana and Thebe getting away from the bad guys.
Loved how Cristiana has no understanding of God's love, but learns about it through the miracles of the Spear. Her heart is tremendous, she doesn't hesitate in obeying prompts from the Spear whenever there is danger nearby. She is nearly attacked while taking a bath and is able to forgive from that encounter. They come across a town suffering from the plague and she gives her all to bring healing to them. Wolves approach her and she faces them despite their deadly intent. I think she even manages to convict the heart of a villain after telling him of God's love. There are just so many moments in this story that I would be like, "No way, this couldn't happen!" Or "I wish I could be THAT brave!" But the point isn't about how I would be or how Cristiana is, it's about Christ through her. Anything is possible with His presence and strength and I believe Tyndall tangibly illustrates this point throughout the story.
There is a brief spider scene with Sir Ronar and Sir Damien, had to read through it fast because YIKES! There are also parts of dead animals used to potions and bats fly at someone's head. Well described, but yucky.
I had a dream in real life about getting married and didn't know who I was marrying, that's how the story begins with Cristiana and it only got better and better turning those pages.
Jarin and Cristiana have a few moments of kissing while escaping one fiasco after another, but those were sweet moments. Jarin knows he's not worthy of her the entire time, but his heart is also changing by what he witnesses in the power of the Spear as well as Cristiana's brave heart. It was also lovely how Thebe grew on "Jarn" and trusted him.
I thought it was wonderful how Sir Ronar and Sir Damien along with Seraphina and Alexia, fight and pray together to end the evil at Luxley Castle. The friar is one of the best characters in their family, his faith and humor enhance every scene. Also loved the monks that housed Jarin. He has a God encounter when asleep and it was perfectly written. A mysterious woman heals Thebe and alerts Jarin to danger with Cristiana just in time. Thebe calls her an angel.
Tyndall brilliantly and authentically describes every character like she's inside each of their minds and even though it's not pleasant reading about the evil in this story, I agree with the actions taken by both the good and bad guys. The ending of this book was more perfect than I anticipated and it was a true pleasure seeing the sisters reunited, both are so different and yet used by God in miraculous ways. So looking forward to Book 3!!
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review and there was no compensation. The thoughts and comments are my own.
Marylu Tyndall writes in love!!!! Absolutely my favorite author in all the world! I’ve always struggled with reading books. Just nothing really seems to keep my attention long enough for me to finish the book. But when I pick up a Marylu Tyndall book, I’m immediately transformed to world of romance, excitement, and Adventure. Her characters deal with real things that everyone faces..... she tells us how to overcome things like fear, doubt, loneliness ,and even lustful passions. Through her stories she makes us think about our own selves.... how we can improve our walk with God. And that is why I love her books and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them!!
This book in particular, has many exciting chapters and adventure throughout it. If you don’t believe in the mighty healing power of God you will after you read this book! Be prepared for miracles.... not Magic but The Messiah!! And that’s all I’m gonna say cause you need to read it for yourself! ;)
Was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own
Beloved characters from She Walks in Power return in She Walks in Love to continue the adventures of the Spear. This story focuses on Cristiana and Jarin.
Spiritual warfare was again a prominent subject. The attacks of the malevolent warlock and his apprentice came in the form of very convincing illusions and poisonous spells which could only be defeated through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The adventure was interesting with twists and surprises. Not only were the events unexpected, the history revealed was as well.
I found the spiritual warfare aspect darker than in the first book. With a new apprentice to the warlock and the steward getting more desperate to regain the spear and the control over the estate, the attacks grew in intensity.
It was emphasized in She Walks in Power that the spear had no inherent power of its own, yet everything pointed to the contrary. This is again mentioned here, and yet Lady Cristiana spent significant time and effort healing the sick using its power. Although she didn’t have even the faith of a mustard seed. So that made it appear that it was the spear itself with the power, not God working through it. And, yes, that bothered me.
Overall, it was an interesting second book for the Protectors of the Spear series and it was very clear the author wanted to bring glory to God through her words. If you can look past the improbabilities (you are reading fiction, so I imagine you can!), I recommend this to readers of Christian historical fiction.
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
I was provided a copy of this for an honest review. I'll try to do that without spoiling the book ere it releases! The first in this series was an amazing read. While I wasn't sure how Ms. Tyndall planned on capturing my least favorite character and making her center stage, she did! And a fabulous job she did too. Cristiana, in my opinion, was a weak version of her sister, Alexia. But she got her own book. C'est la vie. However, her story was not of weakness at all. Her triumph and strength shone brightly in this second of hopefully 10 or so books! (hint, hint, wink, wink) Enter Jarin. We saw him in the first book too and his character was a "wanton" man. Saying things nicely, you know. Put the two of them together with an adorable abandoned two-year-old, and let the adventure begin! I want to say so much more. But I fear I would totally ruin it for future readers. Just let me say this...you won't be disappointed. I certainly wasn't! Fiction but not so much, if you catch my drift. ;) Now I have to wait (forever) for the next book! Patience is a virtue that I shall master!
She Walks In Love is the second book in the Protectors of the Spear series. This book features Cristiana and Jarin. The story has lots of action and swoon worthy moments of romance. The author also included spiritual applications as well. If you are looking for a medieval romance, then you will want to read this. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next one. *I was given a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
She Walks in Love: #2 Protectors of the Spear by MaryLu Tyndall
Lady Christiana D’Clere is the new protector of the Spear of Christ and is running for her life is in grave danger. Sir Jarin the Just is the handsome knight helping Christiana find safety. Their journey is fraught with dangers, terrifying battles, malevolent enemies, betrayal and dark evil enemies of the spirit world. They must learn to trust God and allow Him to protect them against the evil stalking them. I don’t usually enjoy stories with dark evil spirits but the author weaves a story that is compelling and shows the vast differences between the dark evil and God’s holy Light. The author’s note clarifies: the story may have a medieval story setting and the “fantasy label in no way can be attributed to the powerful acts of God described in the story”.
3 Stars is the highest rating I've ever given a novel by this author. Its not that I've got anything against her personally, its just that I really didn't care for the other books of hers I've read. I borrowed this one on Kindle Unlimited because read the first novel in the series 3 years ago.
On the plus side, this was an enjoyable and adventurous story about good vs. evil and spiritual warfare. The faith themes about forgiveness and repentance are very strong and unequivocal, and that's not a bad thing: I just don't think this story needed 310 pages to be told.
I also commend the author for the note in the front, which clearly states this story is fantasy, and advises readers against learning history from it. Good on her. Many authors aren't that upfront and the setting confuses readers into thinking its 'real' history or an accurate representation of the historical past in a certain country. Honestly its needed because the story is anything but historically and culturally accurate.
My first issue the story is written in a sort of pseudo-archaic language that I think was intended to make the dialogue seem more authentic, but instead just makes the story read as clunky and frankly rather strange in places. Is 'nimbycock' even a real word? And what on earth does 'peace froth' mean? The characters keep coming out with that kind of thing, presumably as a clean Christian alternative to actual swearing.
Second, I am going to avoid a History Lesson about a fantasy novel, but I'm going to comment on several details which I felt were plain silly. To start with Leather clothing and armour. The makers of TV shows and movies ignore historical accuracy and dress characters in historical Dramas in leather outfits because it looks cool. Novelists don't need to do this. So why do the characters in this novel wear friggin' leather like some kind of Medieval biker gang?
One of them wears what is called a 'leather hauberk'. I know what a hauberk is: and they're not made of leather. Google it, its defined as long tunic of chain mail. Metal armour is generally stronger and more durable than leather, but the characters don't seem to have grasped this. Especially when they wear plate armour that apparently has convenient joins in it above the chest. No solid metal breastplates there.
In some places, in does become clear that the author has done historical research, such as the use of the odd Latin terms or phrases, but in other places, I just despaired. The saucy pub serving girl is without doubt some kind of generic wench character from a Renaissance Faire. Almost is sick or dressed in rags. Every single village is filthy and squalid and smells of 'rotten meat' and other disgusting things. Apparently, although these Medieval Peasants are hungry, they don't have the common sense to eat meat quickly enough or preserve by salting or smoking. They also don't have enough sense to build pens or corrals for their animals, so pigs run amok in the streets among children. Look, even Medieval people realized that having large and potentially aggressive animals like domestic pigs loose in human settlements was not a great idea. Give them some credit.
I get it. Medieval fiction is just an excuse for prolonged descriptions of filth and nastiness, but really. At least make it plausible. I mean how is it that every single building the characters are in smells of mould and filth except- the cave they live in where they store an array of books. Books that would have been written on parchment (sheep skin), which is very vulnerable to mould and damp?
Also, although I don't mean to be disrespectful and I do believe in miracles and angels and the like, I think these things were overdone. Half of this novel literally read like an extended commentary of a healing crusade by a modern charismatic televangelist. With the characters travelling from place to place, and Christiana using The Spear to heal people of every illness or malady known to man from plague to syphilis (apparently there weren't many healthy people in them bad ol' Medieval days), all the while reminding them that God loves them and cares for them.
Yeah, OK. Medieval people actually did believe in healing though. And the healing power of relics, and they did- believe it or not care for the sick. Some did anyway. I guess though trying to reconcile the Medieval ideas about the supernatural healing powers of relics and Saint's Shrines with modern Evangelical Christianity isn't easy.
Finally, I felt that Jarin's reasons for turning his back on his faith were really cliched. Its obvious it was only set up that way to allow for his salvation and reconciliation to Christ at the end. OK, yes, authors need to be relevant, and it makes Jarin's character arc more interesting, but I just think there are too many characters like him. Tough but honourable guys who turn their back on/doubt God because bad stuff happens to them or is done by them: in fact all of the 3 male leads in the series seem to follow this formula.
So its kind of enjoyable as a fantasy novel, but there were things that could have been a lot better. The author has done her best, but I think she made some rather poor choices with this novel. However, I enjoyed it more than the 3 other books I've read of hers. So that's something.
There aren’t enough adjectives to describe SHE WALKS IN LOVE, the second installment in the Protector of the Spear series by MaryLu Tyndall. Amazing imagery, intense spiritual warfare, thrilling adventure, and captivating chemistry between Lady Cristiana D’Clere, the protector of the Spear, and Sir Jarin the Just, the knight determined to see her returned to her rightful place at Luxley Castle.
As the book starts, Lady Cristiana has already escaped from one who has poisoned her, left Sir Cedric LeGode at the altar, and has taken refuge at Braewood Castle, only to find out Lord Braewood is not the benevolent benefactor she thought him to be. So, she flees with Thebe, a two-year-old orphan she has become very attached to. With Jarin the Just as her aid, she sets her sights on Luxley Castle, but they must navigate a path littered with those who seek to kill her and take the precious Spear and the power it holds.
Though Jarin the Just has given up believing in God, he can’t deny the miracles that have happened as he and Lady Cristiana continue on their treacherous journey. He also can’t deny his growing feelings for Cristiana and the little imp, Thebe. Though he has sworn off the thought of marriage and family, time spent with these two give him a glimpse of what family looks like, and for the first time in his life, he feels himself yearn for a life with one woman, and a child that pulls at his heartstrings. Even as he entertains such an idea, he knows his volatile past and his womanizing reputation are not worthy of Lady Cristiana. So, he suppresses his feelings and remains diligent in his quest to see her safely returned to Luxley Castle.
MaryLu Tyndall had expertly woven together a Medieval fantasy with Christian romance, and the very real battle of good versus evil in the spiritual realm. She expertly paints a picture of Ephesians 6:12- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. I am not a person who enjoys books like Harry Potter or movies containing sorcery, but I LOVED how MaryLu portrayed the wicked and sinister, and the very real oppression that can happen when people allow themselves to be entertained by evil.
If you like Christian romance books, you will love the intense attraction between Cristiana and Jarin. If you like the Medieval era, and all that comes with it - castles, knights, ladies, chivalry, etc., you will LOVE this latest installment from MaryLu Tyndall. But, do yourself a favor, read SHE WALKS IN POWER, the first book in the series as well as SHE WALKS IN LOVE. It will double your enjoyment!
I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Be prepared to be swept away on a journey of second chances, love, hope, and power.
I had so much fun traveling this journey with Christiana and Jarin, and watching as their characters developed—I can’t decide who is my favorite!!! They were both so fantastic and unique.
Jarin was a complex character—his past is one of darkness and pain. He has lost faith and is seeking hope in a world that does nothing but bring him deeper into loneliness and sorrow. But when he meets Lady Christiana, something changes within him, as he starts to find that maybe there is more to life than he ever thought possible.
Christiana was fantastic as well. I really liked her character, and could really relate to her mindset—throughout her life, everyone she has ever loved has abandoned her, and her life has become one trial after another in what seems to be an endless stream of brokenness. But when she is chosen as the Protector of the Spear, and as she comes to know the power of the God who she realizes has never abandoned her, her life shifts, and nothing will be the same again....
Also, the romance between these two was so sweeeet!! 😍
Probably my favorite part of this book, though, is the journey the characters take as they come to find the infinite power of the God who truly loves them and died for them. As they learn that His incredible, limitless power isn’t found in the Spear after all, but in Him alone, and with the people who truly believe in Him—He is always there, willing to help, just a prayer away.
I highly recommend this book—such fantastic Medieval Fantasy, and I cannot wait for book three!!!! 😆
>>>>You need it in your life too!!!!!!!! 😉 <<<<
Also, can we just talk about how gorgeous the cover is for a minute—it fits the story and Christiana to Perfection!!!! 😍 😍
I received a copy of this book for FREE, and a positive review was not required.
While MaryLu places this series in the Medieval Romance category, she makes no connection to actual historical people or places. Her focus is on spiritual awareness and responsible action—her characters and narrator observing the work of God’s spiritual enemies and countering their plans.
Like many novels of this genre, she is concerned with the powerplays of nobility, who use women, lands and blackmail to establish their positions of wealth and influence. Another characteristic element of this writing is the use of local herbs for healing and poison. The corruption in church and state throughout the story brings to mind Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.
Two noble sisters are caught in this world of intrigue, satanism, and heroic loyalty. A handmaiden joins them fully in this book, as the three have a bond of faith and hope, and a relic of great power. They become increasingly alive for the reader as they pursue their rights to property and titles amidst life-threatening enemies.
The author explored the possible secret role of a Pentecostal faith in conservative, illiterate England of centuries ago. It was refreshing to see characters really deal with the promptings they got from God, and really seek to know His words. Many Christian romance books of this era are only superficially Christian, with little at stake because of their faith and the demand to take righteous action. While I love historic fiction, I confess I find romance writing silly and redundant. The emphasis on the muscular size of the men and their hard chests was a bit wearisome to me. That element was here.
As a writer, MaryLu inspired me to be bolder about representing my faith in my books, and I really appreciated that.
Excellent Christian romance with knights, lords, ladies, and warlocks. If you’ve read She Walks in Power, you know Alexia D'Clere. In book 2, She Walks in Love, Cristiana D'Clere shares the call— the Spear of Destiny must be protected. You also know about its power. Both books truly are a woman’s guidebook to spiritual power. Read She Walks in Power first. I loved it all.
MaryLu Tyndall’s writing mesmerizes the reader, but her spiritual guidance opens the reader's heart to receive the power God has given His children. And she does this in an entertaining and effective way. In the latest book, She Walks in Love, Lady Cristiana D'Clere, the little sister and the new protector of the Spear, is of course fleeing from evil and from her sister’s shadow. Cristiana sees the Spear of Christ for its incredible powers to protect but remains ignorant of who she is and her power in Christ Sir Jarin the Just is determined to find and protect Cristiana . He is a knight of the king and is sure his prowess can save her. The biggest danger for Jarin is he has vowed to remain unmarried and never love a woman or the God who let his mother and baby sister die.
With a plot that mirrors scriptures, Tyndall reveals the One who gives real power and love to Cristiana. And proves to Jarin that he can’t protect Cristiana. He can’t even protect himself. The dark magic can only be defeated by the power of heaven.
I LOVED this book! I am always wary going into the second book of a series… “Will it be as good? Will I love the characters as much as the first book? Will it make me feel the same excitement?” but “She Walks in Love” did NOT disappoint!
I have read a lot of books with heroines who are strong and confident like Alexia in the first book of the “Protectors of the Spear” series; however the heroine of this book, Cristiana is much more gentile. I found that I far more related to her. While I wish I was stronger and bolder; I, like Cristiana have struggled with fear and feeling like I have been abandoned by people in my life. And like Sir Jarin the Just, my own husband had promised to never marry and yet told me that after we met he couldn’t stop thinking of me. I felt so connected to the characters that Tyndall created, the struggles and triumphs had me flipping each page anticipating what would come next.
I absolutely love each of the characters (well… maybe not ALL… I mean who likes Sir LeGode or Drogo?) and the world that Tyndall has fashioned; “She Walks in Love” is absolutely a must read! I hate spoilers with a passion, so let me simply say… this book was amazing and I HIGHLY recommend it!
**I received a free copy of this book from the author, but am under no obligation to post a positive review. This review reflects my own opinions.
I love this book series!! Be transformed back into the time of gallant knights and fair maidens. But not just simple maidens. These Maidens have a spiritual calling and exhibit such strength and beauty.
This book series does not disappoint. I absolutely love MaryLu’s books. She is a great writer and I feel like I am on a wonderful God inspired adventure!
I read to have a diversion and love to learn about new places, peoples, customs etc.
People ask me what type of genre I read. I say Christian romance /historical novels but these books are so much more than that. I like to be transported somewhere and see how other Christians handle life situations. How, as believers in Jesus, we should handle them. How to fight battles in the spirit realm -not just in the physical
Sometimes we think staying where we are in life is best. We become comfortable with what we know. But it is not Gods best for us. How often do we struggle with the decision to move forward or stay in place?
Take this journey to far away place and people just like me and you. Who struggle with what their calling is and how they overcome challenges. You will fall in love with these rich characters as I have and be swept away.
MaryLu Tyndall’s latest release She Walks in Love is a fabulous medieval adventure and romance story you must read! The sequel to She Walks in Power continues the action, stakes, and tales of the characters first introduced. When Cristiana is forced to flee Luxley, Sir Jarin the Just must go after her. While battling those of the seen and unseen world, can the two learn to trust in the One who protects and guides them?
I love Ms. Tyndall’s books. The mix of adventure, history, and romance helps to draw the reader in and keep his/her attention. One of the best things about her books is the relatability one can feel. The inclusion of more spiritual elements helps to provide a connection point for the reader. Many of the conflicts and questions the characters deal with are similar to ones others might also come across in their lives. I also really enjoyed the addition of Thebe in this story. Her comments always made me laugh, and the high stakes of the tale had me flipping pages until the late-night hours.
Overall, if you like books with a variety of genre, characters, and conflicts, this is the book for you! I was given a copy of this book. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.
Again another great book from MaryLu that will keep you glued to the pages before you. It helps if you have read She Walks in Power first, but you don’t have to. This book has lots of adventure, surprises, and exciting challenges throughout as well as being laced with humor. Cristiana and Jarin struggle to understand new feelings as they truly get to know each other. As Cristiana protects the Spear and Jarin protects Cristiana, they learn to trust and care for each other in ways they hadn’t experienced with anyone else before. The characters in She Walks with Love take you through all sorts of emotions, dangers and spiritual revelations. Romance is a strong part of the story but the true beauty is that the strongest power on earth to fight the forces of darkness is revealed. I love the way God is glorified throughout MaryLu’s stories. Once you get started with this very talented and award winning author’s writings you’ll want to read all of her books.

I liked this story, but not as much as I liked book 1. I don't know if it's because I didn't connect with the characters as much? I'm not sure.
I liked Cristiana's character, but her story was more about her relying more on her faith as opposed to being on a protective mission like her sister Alexia was. Then there's Jarin who clearly was falling for Cristiana in book 1 and is now her protector. And then a little girl is in the picture (which I must've missed that part in the beginning of the story) who they both choose to keep in their care.
Once again, I appreciated the spiritual realm aspect of this story. Seeing God's way triumph over evil is always a plus in my book. That doesn't mean the characters don't go through numerous trials of faith! I also loved how the power of God's name is enough to destroy the evil around them. Such a great reminder of the power we have as followers of Christ.
The narrator is different than in book one and I was bummed because I ended up really enjoying the previous one. This narrator was good, too. I was just surprised it was a different one.
Another supernatural win authored by MaryLu Tyndall!
MaryLu has been my favorite author since I stumbled across one of her books. Her engaging writing and spiritual happenings have continued to keep my mind opened to the possibility of the gifts of the Holy Spirit! And "She Walks in Love" does not fail! A sequel to "She Walks in Power," which featured Alexia, I found that Alexia's younger sister, Cristiana's spiritual and emotional conflicts and change over the course of the novel kept me interested. I have always felt like a trusting and naive person, so I immediately connected with Cristiana. The way MaryLu depicts the battle between the darkness and the light, and the relationship between Cristiana and Jarin, inspire me in my own romance with my husband and my own spiritual walk with Jesus. I highly recommend this book!

After finishing She Walks in Power, I was eagerly awaiting the release of MaryLu’s 2nd book in the series, She Walks in Love. As usual MaryLu did not disappoint. She has a gift of brining stories alive for her readers. She walks in Love is an amazing adventure showing God’s love, protection, and healing. Every time I read one of Marylu’s books, God uses them to speak to me somehow. Christina’s compassion and caring for others was beautiful to see. It made me ask myself, what would I do if I was put in those situations? Would I have compassion? Would I help others if my life or my loved one’s lives were in danger? I could also relate to the characters struggle at times, wondering if God was there for them. The ending was beautiful to see how the Lord used the trials of the past to bring healing and love to Christina and Sir Jarin’s lives. I also loved liitle Thebe. I would highly recommend this book.

MaryLu has done it again!! I have been reading her books since I was a teenager and she never fails to deliver a story that is full of incredibly well developed characters, action, romance and Godly values! “She Walks in Love” is the second book in the Protectors of the Spear Series and continues the story with Christiana D’Clere.
Without giving away too much... 😁
Christiana lives a life in which she believes all those she loves, have abandoned her. She finds herself in dire circumstances and in possession of a Holy Relic with the ability to heal the sick. With the help of a handsome knight (Jaron the Just) she sets off on a journey full of racing horseback chases, battles, both physical and spiritual, compassion, a little bit of romance 😍 and the knowledge that there is One who will never leave or abandon her, even in her darkest hours.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

What a beautiful tale! I love MaryLu’s stories, but this one really had a special spark to it. Cristiana is a character that you just want to wrap up in a great hug, and root for from the start. She’s sensitive, a bit unsure of herself, but with a big heart, and a deep desire to help others. Jarin is known as the Just for a reason, but he’s put through quite a time when he is fighting between his desires for freedom, his fears from the past, and the longing for a bright future. Chased by dark powers, having to deal with betrayal, the two must learn to trust each other to survive as they fight to return home. This series is amazing, and I cannot wait to read its conclusion!

There were many things I really appreciated and enjoyed about this book, which is what I'm basing this rating on. I was very happy to see so many scriptural references, the faith lessons, the spiritual battles, the miracles, the noble knights, the spiritual giftings of the main characters and, of course, the castle with all its secret passageways--who doesn't love that?
I was, however, overly frustrated throughout the whole book by the main character, Christiana--so much so that I considered ending the book at one point. I know she had a lot of issues, caused by past events, (which I'm sure the author was conveying through her behavior), but I would've liked to have seen a steady, consistent, bigger growth in her faith, which I felt was sorely lacking for one who had witnessed so many miracles.
I so wanted to binge read this book after the second chapter. It was full of page turning suspense, romance and action. I really felt like Christiana could have easily been any one of us; unsure of who we are and leery of trusting God completely. The mystic realism between dark and light was so true to form. It left me with the hair on my neck raised a few times but thankfully we are over comers through Christ and in this day and age, we need more examples of light winning over darkness. You won’t regret reading this book. I cannot wait for the third one. *I was given a copy of this book. I was not required or paid to give a favorable review. All comments and opinions are my own.*
She Walks in Love is the second installment from MaryLu Tyndall’s series, Protectors of the Spear. I enjoyed the first book, She Walks in Power, but enjoyed this one so much more. I absolutely loved Cristiana right from the start. She is such a powerful, courageous and admirable young woman. The journey she takes is full of adventure and action. I am giving She Walks in Love five stars. I am looking forward to a third addition to the Protectors of the Spear series. I highly recommend this one. I received this book from the publisher, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
I am amazed by Tyndall’s writing. The adventures that burst forth from her pen always captivate my imagination and my heart. This is true of “She Walks in Love” as with any other of her works. In a searching, powerful way, Christiana’s journey reminds readers that we are all at one time or another battling lies that Satan has tried to distract us with. This well-written tale also points readers again and again back to the truth that with God all things are possible. A read well worth anyone’s time!

Looking for a book full of intrigue; dashing, strong knights that aren't without their own fears; reprobates; warlocks; heroines with hearts full of love and skills of their own; and an adorable little girl?
The characters in this wondrous tale have struggles of their own and faith. They are moved by events circling around a holy relic, the Spear that pierced the side of Jesus.
Join them as they learn God's loving and forgiving powers, and where the power truly comes from.
Rejoice in the mighty showing of God's power and wonder why we don't see such in our daily lives.
