You wanted more. More Shara. More blood. More Blood. You had so many questions after Shara Isador took the Triune. Why was Daire in the cathouse? Why didn’t she get immediate revenge against the Dauphine? These questions are answered, along with providing all of the Their Vampire Queen short stories that were previously published in other anthologies, Queen Takes Alpha Queen Takes Twins Queen Takes a Late Christmas And since you’re all so very greedy, there’s some additional time for Okeanos in this compilation. Of course, it’s appropriately titled Queen Takes Tentacles.
I really like this series. Lot of blood, lot of sex, lot of men, and a plot.
This book in my opinion was written because what was supposed to be the finale book in book 8, ended abruptly with a pending resolution with Shara. Shara also added a last minute man but readers got no love story, he had no purpose. And a new queen who attacked shara, yet got away with it that we know nothing, leaving shara and her men vulnerable... so no HEA at finale book. Nothing justified an ending like this. Author sure wanted to be curious enough to buy her next serial but she only gained sceptical readers. That is me anyway.
To be honest, I was very upset. And not alone on this author Facebook group fans. Many were WTH?
The author was upset with our reactions. In fact she told us that she would not accept any criticism on her group anymore... a bit authoritarianism if you ask me. Talk as much as you like but only praises accepted... Main raison I stopped visiting this group and promoted her books. And after this little drama, the author decided to calm her fan base and maybe (not sure as she seems to have some temper) realized she needed to calm down her fans or face to loose a lot of them. Nobody wants a cliffhanger at a supposed finale book... she claimed (also it was very clear at the epilogue) that many answers would be given on other stories after... yeah, like I give you a chocolate cake but you’ll get the chocolate later.
This book showed up on my goodreads feed and was in the mood to review it.
Now....
The book gives indeed some answers. This should have been included in the last book and yes it gave the love story that was missing and few answers aka developments with shara and her men.
So at the end of this, I still like the books but will not expect a great epilogue from now on. The author wanted to keep us on our toes but she missed completely her objective. She did it once, she may do it again.
Overall, I still like her style and her serials but not as much as it started.
2/7/21 - I've read "Queen Takes Twins" & "Queen Takes Tentacles" from this short stories boxset. This fulfils our desire for Shara to have some one-on-one sexy times with the Twins & Okeanos. I'm reviewing Okeanos' short as it isn't a separate book on Goodreads.
Okeanos had such a hard life, but I'm glad that he's now part of Shara's Bloods. He's a Kraken, never accepted...But Shara (& her Bloods) did. The care & eventual sexy times b/w Shara & Oke was hot! Especially the tentacles one, Downright porno! I liked it & am hoping for more!
--I'll read all /re-read these stories when I finally read this series wholly!
A collection of shorts with no real story, just Shara spending time bonding with her mens. I mean, no story at all, just smuttery. And I'm not going to lie, imo the tentacles were a bridge too far. But regardless, they were nice little sequences to revisit the characters.
Re-read April 2024 Yeah. This was the smuttiest smuttery to ever smut. No story here, just vignettes of orgies.
I kind of can't believe I'm done with all these! They've been wild. This is the SEVENTH book in this series and it's made mostly of short chapters that the author wrote in between books and one that serves as an extra epilogue.
10/10 would recommend for some mindless fun times.
This is a collection of all the short stories, that are part of Shara's world. But not only that, Ms. Burkhart also gives us some time 101 time with Shara's newest plot, and she follows up on some misbehaviour from her kitty-cat Blood.
I'm still loving this world and stories like this, just makes the want to pull a "Misery" and have her keep writing even bigger. I cannot wait to see what's next in store!!
Queen Takes More definitely gave us more! In this collection of short stories, some from anthologies and a brand new one, it gave answers to some questions you had on some installments while a great way to tie up each book together. Clearly, I can't wait to read more from this amazing world of Ms. Burkhart.
Honestly this book surprised me because I wasn't expecting it. Since I am not on Facebook much and apparently missed some drama, this book is in response to this series that ended feeling... a little unfinished. My expectation was always that there would be another series starting up and that we'd see Shara as more a secondary character. I'm used to series where it feels like there can be more and yet the author ends it. See Keri Arthur who does this to me constantly and I wail in distress.
Still, this is the "happily ever after" demanded by readers and fans. Since I'm good with no happily ever after, this tidbit which is really 5 outtake scenes with Shara and her men is a delightful bonus. I must admit my favourite is Queen Takes Tentacles because ... well... tentacle sex!
This book can technically be read as a standalone. To fully appreciate the glimpse into the life of Shara and her men, read the first 6 books in the series. Recommended to readers who loved this series and wanted some more.
It was great getting to know more about the characters than in the original books that they appeared in. Looking forward to learning more about each of them in the future books. Loved this book overall. 💜💜💜
I love me some bonus content - especially when it allows a deeper connection between the reader and the characters. Shara and her Blood are seriously the best - I love their dynamic, the banter, the unapologetic desire, and just the love that oozes out of all of them. It makes my heart ache.
Okay if you happened to miss all of the steamy (think need a fan) novellas that came out as part of a few anthologies then get ready to do a happy dance because this awesomeness has them all in one place. As well a couple new surprises that I was thrilled with. If you love House Isadore like me then you will have to read these just to get some more but if you have no clue who I am talking about then try this for a taste that will surely make you want the rest of the series. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 steamy stars.
This was basically just little snippets of Shara with her Blood and sexytime. Not complaining. ;) It was a little short but that’s okay. Just makes me look forward to more books in the future.
I shouldn’t have waited so long between finishing Queen Takes Triune and this one. I was confused the majority of the time, but hey there’s lots of smut.
2.5 stars - this was my least favorite of the Vampire Queen series so far. The last chapter, Queen Takes Tentacles 🐙, was the best part. I would have liked a chapter with Llewellyn. He seems to be pushed into the background all the time.
Excellent! Joely She Burkhart is a master storyteller!! Each book I read by her is utterly amazing and I feel blessed to have found her Their Vampire Queen series.
A collection of Short Stories, some of the previously in Anthologies and two completely new ones that are just A-MA-ZING.
Queen Takes It Out On Me Daire was behaving like a brat and I didn't even realize it until it was pointed out by Shara. Care to guess why a submissive behaves like a brat? *wiggle eyebrows suggestively* Exactly. I absolutely LOVED how Shara taught Daire a lesson in this short story. It was bloody but when Shara doesn't end cover in her Bloods blood, right? It was beautifully written as always and the inclusion of her Kraken did this even more so.
Queen Takes Alpha I've read this short story when it was released as part of an Anthology of short stories with other authors before. One of the Between the Sheets if I'm not mistaken but it was great to re-read this again. There is no way I would pass on a scene when Shara gives Rik free reign.
Queen Takes Twins Another one that was part of a Between the Sheets Anthology, the Halloween edition if I'm not wrong but this one was also beautifully done. I love submissive men stories and the way they give their all to their beloved, there's something about their vulnerability that just melts me.
Queen Takes A Late Christmas This one was my favorite from all the short stories before Queen Takes More was released. Xochitl visiting un-announced and the Blood's reaction was just adorably cute. The aftermath was also adorable in a completely different way and in a completely different level of hotness.
Queen Takes Tentacles My favorite short story to date. Hands down. There's no other. I LOVED it. I don't even know what to say except repeating myself like a broken record: I loved it, I loved it, I loved it. Add to my love the fact that his mother was there. Don't even get me started with that woman/creature because I could slap here twenty times in a minute. I can also understand that at the time he was born things were so different that she had to do what most did. I still can't forgive her. And finally... what the is the Screaming Madness???
I’m firmly of the opinion that Ms. Joely cannot write a bad book. Even her shorter stories are well rounded; I always feel like I’ve read a complete novel and know her world by the end. Of course, I always want more because of how amazing her writing is in each one!
Queen Takes It Out On Me - Yah! We finally find out why Daire was being a brat, along with the (very yummy) consequences.
Queen Takes Alpha - Oh my hotness! This was short, but so good, and so very, very spicy and kinky.
Queen Takes Twins - Exceptional! I’ve been interested in getting to know the twins better since they first were introduced - because, twins! The focus is around Día de Muertos, and how the twins surprise Shara. It’s sweet, along with the expected heat and kink. I adore these two, and loved getting a deeper glimpse into Tlacel and Itztli.
Queen Takes A Late Christmas - This short Christmas-y story does not disappoint. It starts with Xochitl visiting with her blood Keras, very unexpectedly. It ends with some unwrapping of presents ;). I won’t spoil it, but Mayte and Vivian are featured in very interesting ways. Great!
Queen Takes Tentacles - I was very excited to get to know more about Shara’s newest blood, Okeanos. His background is heartbreaking, but I feel like he is getting a well deserved HEA with our court.
This are my voluntary, honest review; I received an arc from the author.
This will answer a lot of the question you may have had after Queen takes Triune. This is a collection of short stories from previous Anthologies or box sets that Joely has done, with Two NEW bonus stories! Previous published: Queen takes Alpha Queen takes a late Christmas Queen takes twins
NEW: Queen takes tentacles: We finally get to she Shara and Okeanos have some alone time together. Its incredible. Okeanos is more damaged emotionally than Shara first realized and we get to watch as Shara begins to heal a small part of that damage in him. Shara is ever growing and I absolutely love that we get to see her powers shift and adapt as she needs things.
Queen Takes It Out On Me: Daire has been a naughty Warcat. Making inappropriate jokes is normally fine, but when in the presents of another Triune Queen... well it's a no no. Shara would never hurt her blood, unless it's what they wanted but Our Queen must punish him and remind him of his place, but only in the most pleasurable way possible.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The only stories I had not read in this series were Queen Takes It Out on Me- where we see Daire voice out what he wants in relation to his submissiveness; Queen Takes Twins, where we see Tlacel voice his bondage needs and finally Queen Takes Tentacles, where Shara literally takes tentacles.
I enjoyed Daire and Okeano's stories the most. I love that Joely was not afraid of writing Okeano's story in that way.
I am looking forward to more from Xochtil as highlighted in the epilogue. She brings some much needed whimsy and innocence to the stories.
I loved all the sex scenes, so why 3 stars? Because I think I prefer the side stories one by one, but not together in one book, as when in one book, it sort of felt formulatic. The guys/ladies have their deep seated insecurity, Shara either has to coerce or force them out, they have some really hot sex, then they really get that she really loves them.
With that said, I still love this series and I am looking forward to the Queen Takes Avalon and more from Shara or the new queens in the series.
This is a collection of short stories that spin off from the main story. They embellish/enhance/extend from those unexplained scenes from the main story. These mini-stories provide clarification. I like that there is a story placement guide to alert the reader where this mini-story fits in. Cute. Endearing. Sentimental and heartfelt are just a few descriptions for these little blips. I enjoyed reading Shara and her House Isador. At first I didn't understand all the commotion about 'Long Live House Isador' but having read all the books and then some I now fully understand. I couldn't help but become entranced and seduced by all the action and sex. And Shara is so realistic that it is easy to substitute myself in her position. What an incredible journey - and if more stories or even spinoffs occur, I'm sure they will be amazing as well.
This is a collection of short stories that fit between the books in the series (they are sort of like scenes that were extra or unneeded and then added into an additional collection). As always Joely Sue Burkhart gives us deliciously erotic scenes set between Shara and her Blood. Each story is crafted well. My only real issue (why I gave it 3 stars) was that even though the reader goes into reading this book knowing they are short stories…they seem too short, and unsatisfying. I know, I know, you might say, of course they’d be unsatisfying, they’re not full novels, however that is not always true. I’ve often read shorts that from the start to the finish remain interesting and satisfying. I love Shara, and I adore all of her Blood, I just wish there had been a little more story in the short stories and a little less sex.
Queen Takes More was absolutely awesome even though it was short stories! But then again any of Joely Sue Burkhart’s stories are awesome! I love how she’s able to completely hook her readers and take us on a wild exciting ride and leave us wanting and needing more at the end of each book that she writes! So yeah I most definitely do recommend Queen Takes More to anyone who searching for some exciting stories to climb into, but a word of advice if you haven’t read any of the books before this one then I highly suggest that you do that way you’ll get the full effect of what’s going on and don’t have any confusion with who’s who and where the stories in this book happened at!
What a great pleasure it was to read more about Queen Shara and her blood. Its always nice when an author listens to her fans and gives...more! The "More" is steamy hot scenes that answer some questions that Many fans had. Me? I was ok without the "more" because I thought it ended well. But I loved this series and I will take "more" anytime!
The novellas are excellent and give us bite sized scenes that are unique and sharp, and give additional insight on each blood in the stories. They are not insignificant...and make you fall in love with this epic all over again. It's one of the best female centered stories I've ever read.
