I think I found a good one in this series. I really liked everything about it. Well... in the beginning Liam is an asshole but in the end he did win me over. And not to mention the plot twists, wow. The one at the end, just insane. Did definitely not see that one coming. Talk about a cliffhanger. But thankfully the next book will soon be out, so I can read about what happens next in Eve's crazy new life. And not to mention all the paranormals. I don't think I've read a book that had them all in. Even Lilith, yes, The Lilith. Lets just say this book is very entertaining. What I wished were perhaps different is the slow burn romance. We get only one hot kissing scene in the whole book, so that was a bummer. But I hope we get lots more of them in the second book.

More like 4.5, but rounding up because there was so much to like about it.
Firstly, I really liked the author's writing style. Maybe I'm just used to a lot of mediocre writing in this largely self published genre, but this felt professional.
I thought the World Building was particularly intriguing and it does that great thing if letting you dip your tow in the world and discover it slowly, much like Eve, rather than info dump you to death.
I really liked Eve. She has the damaged heroine trope going on, but I felt like it was dealt with maturely and realistically, rather than gratuitously, which is often the case. The author's note at the back about he roan experiences must be what lends that aspect of Eve's story credibility. She is feiatly and forthright without being arrogant. She sees the best in people and is optimistic without being naieve. What manner of crwtaure she is is also definitely intriguing.
The romance in this sort of simmers in the background and doesn't really come together until the end, and even then it's barely started. However, it is clear (and from the blurb also, so I don't count this a spoiler) that all four of the Night brothers will be in her Harem. Liam and Sebastian were the Lost well characterised for me, mainly because their personality traits were more engaging, but I like the way her relationship with them is going to be built of page. My teeny criticism is maybe I would have liked to see a little bit more relationship building, but the plot is a good old whodunnit mystery, so I wasn't too bothered.
There's a pretty big cliffhanger at the end, but in an intriguing way, rather than an annoying way, so I'm glad the next one is out later this month.
Highly recommended, particular if you're looking for something new that is neither another Academy book or Bully Romance!

This book was more than 4 stars right up to the end!
Why? Why? WHY!?
Resurrecting heroine's beloved twin brother who kills your boyfriend druid vampire's kid, is just unnecessary cliche drama! How hard must you look in the bottom of the barrel to introduce heroine's internal conflict in this way! What happened to good old powerful unknown enemies!?
Mostly, otherwise the book is well written and I would have quite enjoyed the series. But family betrayal, and themes of choosing between lover(s) and family is old, used up drama that I hate more than my sister's health smoothies!
So I am done here, but I would recommend this series to PNR lovers whose guilty pleasure is soap operas!

Huh, I really liked this one. RH have been on the decline for me but somehow I still find myself reading them. Luckily this was a good one.
No one was salivating over her like meat, there was no jealous mean girl, there was the token grouchy guy but I liked him so no complaints there .
The heroine is employed by the Night brothers to help them make a case, this introduces her to the supernatural world, though she has some sort of precognitive ability she doesn't know what she is. There's just a little bit of romance in this as well and I weirdly like that.
Definitely reading the next book but if I see that in lumen et lumen one more time...

not bad! i loved most of it and it was pretty damn entertaining, plus i loved the murder mystery side, but i kinda felt like the relationship between the boys and the MC went from friends to love in a pretty short time, i almost wanted more lust and smut lmaooooo. but overall this was real cute and real good! glad i read it :))

I Am The Wild is a typical RH story but very much lacking in those said typical elements that drags down the book to something dull and bland.
The story itself is backed by the whole ultra special snowflake thing that is commonly seen in this genre with a murder investigation thrown in there for good measure. Now on paper that may sound interesting but it's executed in a very dry manner. The visions/dreams thing doesn't move beyond the cliched shit and the murder investigation fails to create any interest with it's checklist kinda progress through the book. I'm only mildly curious to know who actually committed the murder by the end chapters only to read some of the stupidest cliched thing.
For the RH part, slow burn is one thing but no chemistry is another. I felt nothing between Eve and the Night brothers. There is some insta-love/lust thing happening with Sebastian and then there is the mess with Liam who surprisingly ends up being the first to be kissed and then the other two brothers who really felt like Eve's freaking colleagues and not potential RH members. IMO, the RH romance aspect was weak especially for them being vamps.
The characters were nothing memorable, the Night brothers had so much potential with their mixture of paranormal powers yet they end up being so.. non fierce. Eve had these weird dialogues regularly trying to sound deep. How can you relate to a character who talks like that? Those dialogues just irks me and ends up making Eve as some sort of a preachy fake woke character. And the other characters that appear to know what Eve is? I don't even know what was the purpose of having these characters know something about her only to not ask them anything even if it makes sense to do so!
In the end, this one is a very dry book that can't even be enjoyed for the cliches since they are done so poorly and the lack of romance that should have been the hook to continue the series and not the cliffhanger that just ends up being so ridiculous.

Of course I read a book where the rest of the series isn’t out yet.
I started this in the evening, it’s not 1:05am and I’m finished. I ate this book up. It’s different, it’s fascinating, and I have no idea where it’s going.
Definitely has a cliff hanger, and we are building it seems a slow burn romance as only a bit of kissing happens and only toward the end of the book.
This book has an element of twists, and turns I for one didn’t see coming. It’s refreshing. This particular series deals with investigating and defending someone for a court case in the paranormal court. What’s different is they investigate.
But that cliff hanger. Woah!
What annoyed me in this book was the name dropping and her reactions to this. They are vampires I mean hello.
Anyways I am hooked. May have to try out their other series.

Frustrating at times
The first quarter of this book I absolutely loved. I was drawn into the main character's life and was curious about what would happen next. Then things started to get weird, which is usually when the story picks up. Unfortunately, in this case this is were things start to go south. There's this dichotomy between what is believable and what's not. Like, okay paranormal creatures are part of this world, cool, oh but suddenly the main character has photogenic memory and has 2 master's degrees at 25. I mean, okay not impossible I suppose, I'll let that slide, but then here comes all the tropes... "Your not mundane but you don't know it," " you're here to save these guys from their fate, " "oh btw these vampires have been around forever and somehow maintained most of their humanity and also know all these famous figures in history, here have a reference." I could go on but you get the point. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I've read better work from this team. I know they're capable of extraordinary stories/storytelling. I found myself speed-reading and glazing over most of the text nearly 45% in... Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited else I'd be much more upset. I would rather read one book that took forever to make good than read 6 bad ones with interesting concepts. Because at the core of this story is an interesting concept, which is what kept me going, but the delivery just... Sucked. Then there's the cliffhanger that is so tropey I nearly screamed... This team can and has done better. I expected higher standards. A real disappointment.

Wow. This was honestly fantastic. It's my first experience with these authors, but it won't be my last.
I feel like any description I give to it would be so superficial that it won't do justice to this story. The world, the murder mystery, those are good and I enjoyed them. But the real gift is the characters, and the narrative. The interweaving of poetry, the damaged people trying to find hope, and this amazing character, Eve, finding her fierce power as a woman of the wild.
There's lots of layers here, and we still don't know what Eve is, though we've had hints. And the names themselves are hints, honestly, given that in this world we're interacting with Lillith (yes, THE Lillith), Dracula, and other famous characters of mythology. And Eve has a twin brother, Adam, so ... well, I'm sure it's not entirely coincidental.
There's abuse here, for those that want a warning, but it isn't in real time. Eve talks about it, but it is in her past.
Super excited to read onward.

This is the first series of the author duo Karpov and Kinrade I read. Thank you for the free audiobooks included in my subscription. Otherwise I wouldn't have read this series, because they are not in my KU subscription. (I do understand why author don't do KU and I'm okay with this.) Also the blurb did not interest me so much that I wanted to buy the books. But I was wrong.
I like the unique description of vampires. Normally I avoid Vampire books, but I enjoyed this series. I liked that it wasn't drawn out. I never felt bored or got distracted and binge listened to the three books in the series.
I would recommend to give it a try.

Holy crap!!! Ok, this book finished on a serious cliffhanger but what a ride. Still so many unanswered questions and a very slow building heat between Eve and the guys but this is a great story and keep you interested the whole way through. Looking forward to book 2. I did not see the ending coming....at all!!

Eve is pretty down on her luck when she answers a vague job advertisement for the Night Firm. She shows up to the interview not knowing what the position is or what the firm does. The firm is run by four brothers, who are of course, good looking. They offer her a job that seems too good to be true. She soon finds out that they are all vampires and the Night Firm specializes in supernatural crimes. The case they are currently working on is a murder case involving a high profile client. Eve helps the brothers prepare the defense case using some special skills of her own.
I like what we've got so far. I like the idea of the law firm angle for the RH. I like that (presumably) Eve will be spending the series solving crimes and getting justice by using her brain instead of say, a sword or magic fireballs, etc. We don't know much about the guys in the firm yet, but so far they seem likable. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of the book that I have a lot of theories about but I will have to wait until the next book is released to see if I am right. I'm definitely putting it on my TBR.

WOW! Man I think that I Am the Wild just may be the best novel Karpov Kinrade has ever written and I have read almost everything this duo has written and I loved them all but this is one awesome story. It has it all like plenty of action, twists, mystery, suspense, magic, amazing characters and a new twist on vampires.
Eve is a great character. I love how strong she is considering all that she has gone through. I loved how she stood up to a vampire and poked him. I love how Eve is the light to the Night brothers dark. I love how she chooses to let her light shine brighter than her dark. I love how she let nothing or no one hold her back from going forward in life and not wanting to hurt anyone even the ones who hurt her. Now that is a girl with a very big heart.
The Night brothers are almost just as amazing as Eve although I do think that they all are holding back more secrets especially Eve. Who is she? What is she?
I Am the Wild is a reverse harem novel but I think we only tipped the iceberg with their relationship in I Am the Wild which I hope we will get to see them all grow closer in future books. I hope to see more of their world in future books as well.
I Am the Wild is one amazing book with all sorts of emotions that jump right off the page at you drawing those same emotions out of you while at the same time it will draw you and have you hooked with all its magic.

Both light and haunting somehow
I really enjoyed this book and bought the second a few days before I finished it. I did not expect the story to go where it did. It left me with a chill, yet intrigued to read on.

you know what’s missing from my book life. You know what I just really need, A reverse harem paranormal lawyer murder mystery about Dracula. ... straight up loved the slow burn, loved the mix fantasy genres , loved the poetry at the start of every chapter, loved the who dun it plot line. Loved it. Loved it. I’m here for this .
i did have a few little hiccup bumps with the smarts of the ancient cursed vampire druids ... they seemed kinda dumb compared to the MC who was a Harvard trained lawyer who didn’t sit the bar (so non practicing) business manager who suddenly was a brilliant detective, and who could pull a crime scene /witnesses / who dun it murder case together better than anyone else in the story .. PLOT holes... ... they are for sure there buuuuut you knowSss whateves.

This was my first book by Karpov Kinrade, I wasn't sure what to expect especially with that synopsis....it doesn't give much away!
It was a bit slow at first but slowly we get to know the Night brothers and a few supporting characters. I like where this is going and am looking forward to the next book

"It's huge!" I say, gasping. "That's what she said," Derek quips, and I nearly choke on my tongue.
Water in the desert that is academy/bully romances. Not much romance in this one just yet so no sex just pure story. Something different which is always a nice surprise. A vampire law firm run by the Night brothers Derek, Liam, Sebastian and Elijah.
The story is great, flows nicely, easy to get into and enjoyable with the world building and the creative array of characters. The mc isn't quite a damsel in distress but she does have her own trauma/tragedy past, mystery powers, artistic talent and is possibly a ticking timebomb. The names really get you thinking.
The guys are close knit so a couple of them do get overshadowed. Don't have an opinion on Elijah just yet and Derek is the level headed one but the ones that stand out are Sebastian (being the first introduced) and Liam with his role. I liked how there's a contrast between them with one acting their age and another acting like a teenager. Definitely ticking time bombs.
After all the sex overload in stories lately, it looks like my dislike of mysteries has faded away and they are once again enjoyable. Deals with death, murder, abuse and has suicide themes. Ends on a cliffhanger which I was expecting, the ex not so much. Oh and I liked Eve's new friends.
The only flaw I found was the relationship itself. Its subtle and barely there until the end and even then its more like an agreement between five damaged souls than the start of a romance. Still I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.
Water in the desert that is academy/bully romances. Not much romance in this one just yet so no sex just pure story. Something different which is always a nice surprise. A vampire law firm run by the Night brothers Derek, Liam, Sebastian and Elijah.
The story is great, flows nicely, easy to get into and enjoyable with the world building and the creative array of characters. The mc isn't quite a damsel in distress but she does have her own trauma/tragedy past, mystery powers, artistic talent and is possibly a ticking timebomb. The names really get you thinking.
The guys are close knit so a couple of them do get overshadowed. What a wonderful new world that pulls a reader inside a law firm with four vampires and all sorts of fantastic paranormal creatures! This series involves a murder mystery with the Firm representing someone charged with murder. I freaking loved Eve Oliver and her inner strength, sage wisdom and self assurance. For a "mundane", she hardly blinked an eye dealing with crazy, intense situations that would have regular humans running for the hills. The four broody brothers fascinate me and I can't wait to learn more about each one as the relationships between Eve and the men develop in this trilogy. This reverse harem romance is definitely a slow burn but the intrigue and mysterious storyline in the Other World has be addicted. I love a good fantasy world with strange customs and enchanting creatures that get me lost inside the pages. I read this story in less than a day and can't wait to dive into the next two books to see where Eve's life as she understands it alters to a reality that she had clue about.

I have not read a book by Karpov Kinrade that I have not enjoyed yet and this one was no different. I really loved this book and will definitely read on in the series. I think it is actually listed as reverse harem but there really isn't any romance in this first book except one kiss. You have one woman working for/with four vampires. But that's just it, they are truly doing a job, at least in this first book. It was pretty interesting.

Yeah, ok, I can dig it.
There was some romance, some fight action, some paranormal lawyering, vamps, a few magical mystery tour scenery moments, twisty turn events, and loads of different supernatural crawlies. Here, in a nutshell, are the good, the bad, and the ugly of I Am The Wild.
~Possible mild spoilers ahead.~
The good:
- The main lady (Eve) is a pretty good character, not super annoying or tstl. She has a good backstory, she kicks some butt, she seems a-okay.
- The story has lots of unpredictable twists and turns, and you can't reaaaally guess what'll happen next.
- The law aspect is a great one - makes for an interesting read.
- The world-building is lovely.
- The writing is great, and the book is definitely enjoyable to read.
The bad (or not really 'bad' bad, just things to develop, maybe):
- Occasionally, I was a tad confused with the characters' personalities. As in, who they were supposed to be. Some of them were rather solid, but a few kept changing, and I wasn't entirely sure what they wanted to be. Such fuzzy characters were, in my opinion, Sebastian, Elijah, and often Eve as well. For instance, Eve had these moments of sticking up for herself, which were cool (you go girl), but they felt somewhat detached from her and from the moment they were happening; she would just rage for a few lines and then casually go about her business. She also often seemed shy for no reason, and then other times she'd be very hands-on and bossy. I still don't feel like I know what she is truly like. I don't even know if she's supposed to be sweet and meek, or fierce and strong-willed. Or both?
- The romance, or the reverse harem, doesn't really feel like it's developing at all (and slow-burns are fine, but this feels like a platonic friendship deal). I mean, Eve feels some tingles here and there, but the relationships aren't really happening or growing (apart from maybe with one dude). There's no spark!
The ugly: (Hi, me again. The 'ugly' is more like 'ehh, annoying'.)
- Eve knows everything, can do everything, solves everything, etc. She is more clever and more experienced with law/courtroom tactics than super old vampires. And she hasn't even taken the bar, she merely has a law degree, which means she has never been an actual lawyer, yet she figures out and comes up with all of the key points in their case. Perhaps she is the 'Wise One', but this makes the men feel a bit pointless and boring.
- Eve is a unicorn!! Ok, so, no, buuuut.. Maybe? We don't know. No one seems to know what Eve is, other than a few cryptic supes. She tastes good, is powerful, made of light? She is the wild?! And she keeps repeating some (sorry, rather dumb!) line about "lumen". So I'm sure she'll turn out to be something superduper awesomesauce.
But hey, totally read this book, if you like law cases and not-too-romantic reverse harem books. Or just read it because it is good!

It was so good until it wasn’t. Also ends with a cliffhanger
The story started out great, captivating and interesting. Some where towards the latter half the plot became ridiculous and contrived. Spoiler: the whole I need to to be presented as a witness so I can disprove what he is saying. The whole big reveal about her ex and how he plays a part in the story was so ludicrous, I found myself just shaking my head. Also none of the vampires know what type of supernatural she is, but everyone outside them does. None of them have any interest in asking these people. Lame plot device. The big cliffhanger at the end ... I actually slapped myself upside my head and said you’ve got to be kidding me really. No rational explanation how this event would even occur or what the odds of it would be. It’s so sad, because it was so good in the beginning like you started out watching Jaws, but ended up watching Sharknado.

The book started out as meh and got more and more ridiculous as it went on. There would be moments where things were written well and it would hook me back into the story but then the way it ended made no sense. Add that in with the main character being a Mary Sue and somehow being the best at everything, one of the guys even said she was as intelligent as Albert Einstein. That it is just a boring read. Every time I reached a hook point I hoped it would get better just to get back to the blah writing. The characters are flat, the brothers have elemental powers and are given the "personalities" that go with them. She has visions and flashes but only when it is convenient to the story. It all speaks to lazy writing. Add that into the weird thing of multiple people seeming to know what she is, yet no one just straight up asking those that know is annoying.

Recently had the wonderful opportunity to meet the lovely authors behind this book. I'm a huge fan of their other series- Vampire Girl. During our conversation, Lux asked me if I had read I Am The Wild- which I had not yet had the pleasure. Fast forward a week and I'm basking in my post book consumption glow.
This book starts out with an mysterious job advertisement that Eve oddly feels drawn to. (Ladies, in real life I HIGHLY discourage you from taking a newspaper offered by a transient and going to a job interview with no description. That's how you end up dead in a dumpster.) Alas, this is paranormal awesomeness so Eve ends up with an AMAZING job offer instead of what would happen to us normal folks.
At this point I would be remiss if I didn't introduce you to the Night brothers. All smoking hot, mysterious, and successful lawyers. Sebastian is the first brother to be introduced and in the story and therefore I felt drawn to his character compared to the other 3.
I don't want to share too much and accidentally rob you of discovering the characters and surprises yourself. There were a few "what the heck" surprises including one MAJOR (yes, I had to type that in all caps to emphasize) plot twist at the end. Actually, perhaps it's more of a cliff hanger? I'm not sure which is the appropriate term but when you read it you'll know what I'm referring to.
While I love the authors and this book I wanted to share two thoughts. They are very, very minor complaints and perhaps once you read the book you'll disagree with me. First, I felt like there was a bunch of name dropping that wasn't necessary. For example, Count Dracula and Albert Einstein. I didn't feel they were necessary and in the case of Count Dracula I would have enjoyed a new character verses relying on the mystic and myths that accompany Dracula's persona. Second complaint- part of vampire lore that I enjoy the most is the mystery, secrecy, and cunning abilities vampires have crafted over centuries of experiences. Within a few days of being hired Eve is welcomed into the Night brother's home and most important business affairs. It would have been more realistic had they kept some separation. In regards to the cunning abilities it's Eve who "saves the day" with her higher level thinking. Where were the intelligent, highly successful vampires who have been attorneys for ions?!?
