Ever since Rin began talking about the unique joys of solo camping, it's been on Nadeshiko's mind-and now she's intent on trying it herself! But while Nadeshiko has her heart set on going it alone, both Rin and Nadeshiko's big sister, Sakura, can't help but worry. Can such an easygoing girl handle the outdoors all by herself?
One member of the school camping club decides to do her first solo camping trip, and it is sooooooooo boooooooring. A little traveling, a little touring, a little camping, a little cooking. Everything about this is little. It's even a little cute that her friend and sister worry about her so much, but I was sooooooooo booooooored I really couldn't care.
I have another volume on hand, and though I probably shouldn't, I will read it anyway.
This entire series - including the latest instalment here - is an amazingly compelling argument for getting a tent and camping, any time, any place. Just read this and then grab a tent :)
The title still so clearly defines exactly what the book is all about! It is a beautifully drawn series which continues to stay focused on the exact theme it promised us as the readers! Eating and camping. Definitely a laid-back volume! I hope that my 3 stars does not deter anyone…it is hard to rank it up at 4 stars even when enjoyable. I will say this is a progressive story, but the chapters and volumes definitely have a melting together feel. If I were to go back, it is hard for me to pinpoint a chapter or book I enjoyed more than another. That is not a bad thing, but I think it also forces me to feel that almost all volumes are 3 -star volumes. But you can get lost in the laid-back world…and if you are a fan of reading, you should.
Laid-Back Camp is like the comfort food of manga. Warm and easy going with just the right amount of ridiculousness. Plus I'm totally into manga that have food/recipes in them of which Laid-Back Camp is a great example.
In this volume Nadeshiko goes solo camping, or does she? Ha with both Rin and Sakura worried about her she is never too far from someone who cares about her.
This volume is really all about Nadeshiko, Sakura, and Rin. The other members of the OEC and their Sensei don't make too many appearances, but it sounds like the next volume is going to be another big group trip. So bring on Izu.
Nadeshiko attempts her first solo camping trip. She's gotten advice from the master (Rin) and has done her research. She's ready. But that doesn't stop certain people from worrying.
In other news, the OEC starts planning their next group camping trip.
Aaah!! It's not fair! There aren't any campsites in my area where you can just hop a bus/train and walk the rest of the way. Not to mention, we have black bears so having any type of food (even locked in a car) could be problematic. Definitely no solo camping for me unless it's in my backyard... and with a large dog for protection. (RIP Scooby)
Solo camping is no joke and people are always going to be worried about you when you're gone. Are you prepared enough with gear? Do you have things to entertain yourself? What food are you eating? Where are you going and how are you getting there?
All of these questions are explored in each of this fantastically fun camping manga series featuring a group of girls. They're purchasing their equipment, prepping their meals, and enjoying sauna baths and alone time. Self-care to the max.
And is this the one where it's "beware of tents losing potatoes"? Because I loved the humorous interpretation of the sign when it's "rocks falling".
I like how Rin and Nadeshiko inspire each other to enjoy new ways of camping. First it was Rin who learned that camping together can be fun as well and now Nadeshiko is learning Rins way of camping by traveling alone. In addition we see how much Nadeshiko is growing. At the start of Yuru Camp she was depending on others. She was inexperienced and always with somebody else. That's why Rin and Sakura worried about her at first. But now Nadeshiko tackles her new challenge successfully with her gained knowledge and finally understands what makes solo camping so special for Rin and now for herself too.
Nadeshinko is trying solo camping for the first time, but she has some people worried about her who are secretly keeping an eye on her (her big sister and Rin).
It is kind of humorous and cute how the others are worried about outgoing and somewhat impetuous Nadeshinko (I agreed with them, though). Another fun little winter camping story.
Notes on content: Just 1 or 2 minor swears. No sex scenes. There's a hot springs scene where mostly everything is covered by froth but I would've preferred a tad more covered. No violence.
Nadeshiko's first solo camp and it's so fun, I adore nadeshiko and Rin what a bestfriend she's so worry for Nadeshiko. Great friendship, fun camping, lots of easy delicious camping grub. Overall it's another relaxing fun outdoorsy read.
Youtube video of the restaurant in Fujinomiya where Nadeshiko ate the shigureyaki, and on their bulletin board, they have a little tribute to Yuru Camp https://youtu.be/3E8HHxDq_L0 (starting 2:05)
Nadeshiko decides to go camping on her own, and somehow it's pretty interesting and funny. If in the last volume we didn't see much about Nadeshiko and Rin, this volume compensates it!
