description

Out of breath, gasping for air, they dashed through the forest for their lives.
Tej and his mother barely escaped a couple of time-demons through the help of the sage, Rigu.

His mother was tortured before his very eyes and while Tej was grateful to be rescued, he cannot quench a burning desire to exact revenge.
Two hundred years ago, you wreaked havoc as the bloodthirsty princes Trilesh and Vapt, when you mercilessly incinerated ten thousand large villages and their inhabitants.
Meanwhile, one of the time-demons (Kumbh) escaped his time-prison and moves into the future. He has plans (evil plans) that involve wiping out most of humanity and make himself invincible in seven days.

Tej learns from Rigu that he is a time-traveler...and that he must go from 3077 BC to 2024 AD to save the future seven days.
Time travel is a power, a blessing, a gift, which you could have used for humanity. Instead, you have abused it to take countless lives...
All in all, I loved the concept, but the writing needed a bit of polishing.

The plot was certainly unique and exciting. The way time travel worked in Sayal's novels felt fresh and fun.

I did have a bit of trouble getting into the story, mainly because of the pacing and the characters.

Quite a bit happened in just a few pages.

There were several aspects that were extremely interesting (i.e. how a man from 3077 BC adjusts to modern life, how he masters time travel, etc) but were skimmed over.

I think fleshing those areas out rather than providing a quick backstory and then going to the next event would have done the book wonders.

In addition, the characters were all present, unique and memorable...but they didn't feel particularly real to me.

We are constantly being told what they are thinking and feeling...which made them feel a bit flat.

I had a hard time connecting to Tej because there was nothing to be curious about - everything was spelled out for the reader leaving nothing to mystery.

That being said, this was the author's first long novel and I think it had a sound base. I'm excited to see where the author's career goes next!

*****This is a book kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.*****

A fantasy with a little bit of SF, very well written and put together. The story is interesting but is a little to short for my taste. I like a book to be over 400 pages, because I understand better the world, the mythology, and I can see the characters development.
The ending was unexpected and I have to give credit to the author, you took me by surprise.
I hope the next book in the series to be a little bit longer, I can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you, Varun for trusting me with your work!

I recived a free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

After reading Time Crawlers, I had high expectations for this book. I am glad to say my faith was rewarded. This is a great book and I hope a start of a great an long series.

I noticed many of the themes from the Time Crawlers (which was short stories) book woven into this book. I especially like the way magic, science and religion are all interwoven together.

The book has great characters, with exciting twists and turns. I love the intelligent use of time travel, I like that fact the rules are added intelligently used and explained.

I like what Taj achieved in this story but by the sound of things there is much more to do and learn and fix. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Demons of Time is a unique fantasy sci-fi adventure that involves time-travel and a mission to stop human extinction.

In 3077 BC, two Time-Demons, Kumbh and Vetri are chasing an escaped mother, Dhara and her son, Tejaswi (Tej), into the Dandak Forest in India. As they capture the two runaways, an old sage comes forward to take advantage of the situation, and finally captures the time-demons he’s been chasing for 15 years, and frees Dhara and Tej. The renowned sage is Guru Rigu and he must now find a way to intern Kumbh and Vetri for all-time. A Time-Prison is a place, a realm, or virtual reality where time is non-existent or immaterial – he needs to find the most secure one.

Within the University of Time-Readers, Rigu and his disciples look across all times and one group has identified a time slice in 2024 AD where a virtual reality game, called Virtexo 2.0, has been developed. There is one stage of the game the developers left unfinished and within that stage, the concept of time doesn't exist. There is also a virtual character called Mengalz and that is where they imprison Kumbh.

A subsequent upgrade to the software introduces time and consciousness into the game’s character and frees Kumbh. Kumbh will take 7 days to re-orientate himself into the new time period before he can move bodies, jump time again and end mankind. Rigu, Tej and the team of time-readers will have those 7 days to recapture Kumbh.

Fantasy is highly imaginative yet I hope it holds onto the behaviours and interactions of characters and real-world references to deliver believability. I found reading this book that little cracks started to appear in the language and plot, which soon developed into larger fissures.

I imagine the author understands advanced technology really well and explaining it in modern times would still be a daunting task, but trying to explain virtual reality to a person in 3072 BC as, “You do understand dreams? Think of virtual reality as an artificial construct, a well-crafted dream – a reverie which allows a human to experience several fantastical worlds without travelling to them.” just doesn’t compute in my mind. Can you imagine them saying, ‘Oh yeah, why didn’t you just say so’?

I think the time jumps across 5000 years could have left more contrasting imagery, environment and even dialogue. Time travel in sci-fi and fantasy stories still requires an appreciation of the people of a particular era and their level of knowledge and capability. This really didn’t line up with me. The characters are interesting and there are gripping surprises throughout the novel. The writing style is engaging and the overall structure of the book is well thought out.

I think real science fiction bibliophiles will still love this book but it didn’t really do it for me. I would like to thank Varun Sayal for providing me with a copy of his book in return for an honest review.

We have read "Time Crawlers" by Varun Sayal. We were really impressed by those short sci-fi stories. We knew by those stories Varun has put a beta product in the market to gauge which egg/idea gather more attraction. We knew that the next book by Varun must be one of the short stories. And we were proven right. Varun has prepared on "Time Crawlers" idea, which was based on time travel. And with the attractive cover it got my attention very first day.

The story started in 3000 BC where two-time demon, Kumbh and Vetri, were chasing a woman and her son. By time demon, I mean a soul/consciousness which can travel in time (past/future) at will. A time reader called Rigu stopped these demons and freed mother & son. Rigu and his team had checked future in 2070 where Kumbh has done a mass killing of the majority of humans. So Rigu wanted to stop Kumbh. He took help of the boy, Tej, now grown up man. Tej was actually son of Kumbh. So he got the ability of time travel in genes. Rigu wanted to send Tej in the 2020s where Kumbh can be captured. Will Tej able to finish the task? Read the book to know more.

I hope I haven't revealed much. Coming to my opinion, Varun has done good homework. The concept that he brought about time traveling seems original. You may take time to understand or may have to read some line twice by that will let you enjoy story better way.

Some general observation
1) Light in size, less than 200 pages
2) Easy language usage
3) Not too much physics. Beginner time traveling terminology is used.
4) Fewer characters used in the story
5) Clarity in plot and character creation
6) To the point narration style

Indian literature needs such good books in the sci-fi fantasy genre. Especially in the time traveling segment, because I haven't read many books. An ideal read for 14+ age.

Demons of Time: Race to the Seventh Sunset is the first book in a Sci-fi Fantasy series that follows the young protagonist Tej in his quest for revenge against a time jumping demon that tortured him and his mother years before.

This story is only short so this limited character development, however, I found myself keen to come back to read on as the story itself, although brief, was enjoyable. I did like Tej, but there are too many other characters and not enough pages to get to know them all or care for them.

There are a few twists throughout which sets up well for further stories in the series.

Varun Sayal’s description of sci-fi was interesting and he used a concept I’ve not come across often before, so I enjoyed taking it all in.

The author does, however, use strange language that doesn’t quite flow at times and also makes his characters feel unbelievable, plus he describes some thing’s in a bit too much detail where more important, story building points could instead have been made.

That being said I did like this book and it kept me entertained. I would like to see more in this series but I feel they may need to be longer to fully appreciate the world the author is trying to create.

Thank you Varun for this beautiful adventure. This book, the first from a series, is a fantasy about time-readers, time-demons and others. Tej must catch a time-demon after he is told he is a time-demons himself. I can't wait to read the rest of the books.

This book is fantastical woven with science fiction, fantasy, Hindu mythology, and more. The author does a superb job explaining the terms and concepts. I find that writing style good because everyone can learn.

Tej is seeking revenge. He enters a new world. A world that contains time demons, time travelers, and more. He learns countless things during his journeys but one lesson will sadly forever change him.

The cover is awesome! I am early waiting for the next book in the series. All of these reasons are why I give it 5 stars. I would recommend this book to all science fiction and fantasy fans.

Okay, let's start with how amazing this cover is!
Now to the content...
This was an interesting concept of immortal beings who can project their consciousness into different time lines. Kind of felt like mixing the movies Highlander with Time Cop.
I like both movies; the combination didn't work for me.
It's a very short book so I encourage people to check it out for themselves.
Thanks to Varun Sayal for my copy.

Not sure why it took me so long to get back to reading a Fantasy/Sci-Fi novel, but it reminded me how much I love those genres. Definitely need to read another one of those book soon. Anyway, on to the review...

Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure how the premise of Tej, the main character, who is a time traveler but didn't know it would entirely work out. As readers, we see it quite often with superpowers in YA novels but not often in an adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel. The premise sounded really enticing so when the author, Mr. Varun Sayal, reached out to me I was more than happy to read the ARC. I'm so glad I did as his book was a really delightful read. It was a great mix of a suspenseful "against the clock" plot with details explaining what and how somethings happened with a protagonist out for revenge added for good measure. At times, it felt like I was reading a possible script for a movie.

While the reading experience itself was enjoyable, this novel has some weak points that I can't overlook. There were numerous editing issues that include missing words, misplaced words in a sentence, and some grammar issues. Quite a few times I had to take a moment to figure out what the sentence was supposed to be. It's not too difficult but it took away from my enjoyment and messed with the story's flow. The author's strong suit, for me, is the way the characters were written. For the most part, they're very memorable and I got invested in the major characters easily, but there are a lot so some of them I just couldn't be bothered remembering anything about. These were mostly side characters for the two timeline, so they weren't super important to the story. Other readers may find it distracting about who all to keep track of though. The side characters were important to the main characters, which, in my opinion, warrants a bit more a background into who they are and what they do. My last issue is that I felt the world building needed a little bit of work. Some parts are given in great detail while others are put to the sidelines. The technology and housing was vastly different and explained well, but what about the world differences. There most have been more than on one was farm based while the other is Mumbai with a highway? If we were able to see the main character observe and process the world from his mind and not his host's mind, then it would be more impactful. If these aspects of the novel were fixed then I don't see why it couldn't be the a top-seller on Amazon.

On a side note, I'm really glad that Mr. Sayal made Tej gay and that when he came out to someone important to him that it wasn't that big of a deal. That scene made my heart very happy, and fit nicely with Pride month. That being said this fact isn't a main plot line with the book. There isn't a moment in this book where the character is able to explore his sexuality or announces it to the world as it's not important to the main plot of this book. Since this is going to be a series maybe in the future it'll come into play as time traveling becomes more normalized to Tej. It would be nice to see if maybe he could choose a host in the future where LGBT rights more accepted than his original timeline. Maybe he could he even go to a time splice where LGBT rights and laws are fully accepted and enforced in India? Just an idea but the series possibilities have me excited.

“Time Travel meets Demonic Possession in this mythology inspired sci-fi thriller.” Pretty much says it all, but the twists along the way make this an even more fascinating read! Imagine traveling through time to thwart demons capable of destroying the world…all while thinking you can wreak a little revenge along the way, but will Tej be able to avenge his mother’s death as he saw it in the year 3077BC or will what he learns in his time travels five thousand years into the future change his way of thinking and who he can truly trust to be on the side of right? Will he find the demon he seeks before it steals away to another time and possess another body? Time is running out...

Varun Sayal’s DEMONS OF TIME is an intriguing start to a new series that combines mythology, time travel and some very interesting characters. Follow Tej’s travels through time, see how he was guided to these times and escape into another world, or worlds where things aren’t always as them seem.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Varun Sayal!

This books is the first in the Time Travelers Series. I have already read Time Crawlers by the same author and devoured it so so much. I was blown away by the ideas in the book as well as this one too.

This book follows Tej, as he is trying to take revenge for his mother who was tortured along with him by Time Demon Kumbh. Kumbh was captured by Sage Rigu, but he escaped. To avenge for his pain, Tej has to travel to the future and defeat the monster.

This book is a lot of fun. For me, fun is being blowed away from reading a book that has so many new ideas and has a fantastic world. The storyline is fresh and absorbing though I found it dragged a bit sometimes. I think it's because the author has to set up the world for the readers to get a great picture of the same. And I am sure that the plot will be as amazing in the second book too!!!

So, Overall Thoughts?

This is AMAZING. JUST AMAZING.

"The parts of science you don’t understand will always look like magic to you. But that does not mean it is magic."

Set in ancient times, this time travel adventure will hook you up right from the start. The story line was very good but what I really admired was all the terms, tricks and ideas about time travelling that were discussed in the book, as if it was a real, prevalent thing. Just how complicated, dangerous and confusing things can be if someone was to jump years into the future or back into the past. Hats off to the author for coming up with these ideas.
At times though, I felt like there was a language barrier with all the ancient Sanskirit/Hindi words, but what it lacked in flow, made it up in the twists and an epic, gratifying end to the story. I can already see a sequel coming :)

Thanks to the author for providing me with an ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis:
The year is 3077 BC, place - Dandak Forest in India (present day: Dandakaranya). A young boy and her mother are running away from some shadows, the Time Demons: Kumbh and Vetri. When it seems all is lost, Guru Rigu comes to their assistance. Dhara and her son Tejaswi thereby begin a new life at the University of Time-Readers.

The story then begins with a grown-up Tej aka Tejaswi who is now married to Damyanti and has a daughter, Kaalpriya. The year is 3057 BC, twenty years in the future. He's living with his family in the same village Guru Rigu brought them to.

Only seven days are left, seven days to beat the time demon Kumbh and recapture him. Under Rigu's guidance, Tej has to work fast or something horrible will happen in the future. Even after losing his mother, Tej has been counting down the days when he can take revenge on the demons who wronged his mother. And this seems like a golden opportunity. But, does he succeed? In a world where he has to travel back and forth through time, how does he determine whom to trust and whom not to?

Review:
The author, Varun Sayal, has done it again! Exactly ten months after his mind-blowing first publication of six short stories, Time Crawlers: Stories From Parallel Universes, he has come out with the first book in what will be a series called The Time Travelers. And already, the perfect basis for a sequel has been laid down.

Coming back to the book, I love stories that start with a chase sequence. Inspired from the rich mythology of India, the demons (known as daityas/danavas in Hindi) have been described by the author at their crudest best. It's not an easy task, writing in English a story which revolves around Indian mythology, due to the local lingo. But the author pulls it off with ease. The author has linked the viciousness of Kumbh and Vetri to their past lives, or should I say, their past travels. Yep, time travels! It was so intriguing to read that, the way the author linked them. Kumbh and Vetri's dour humour is really amusing, in spite of their cruelty.

What I really adore about the author's writing is the way he connects science and myth. Everything is so detailed and organised in the place of learning or should I say, timekeeping. And the names of the teams given by the author are ordinary yet ingenious. The narrative flows smoothly and the characters have all been properly fleshed out. Though I admit, a time prison sounded much like Superman's 'The Phantom Zone'. It reminds me of The Flash too, with the speed force and everything, and the way the future travels change the past. Also, Fringe, though I'm not saying how since it will be a spoiler. What I am trying to say is that it's same-same yet different. Fans of the above three shows/graphic novels will love this book. When science meets myth meets sci-fi you're captivated, and such an elaborate, well-written, well-researched book had me in awe. The build-up of suspense kept me on tenterhooks. And the author places surprise revelations just when you aren't expecting them.
Our planet will experience a large-scale near-extinction event—without a single drop of blood being shed.

If this sentence doesn't intrigue you to read this book, I don't know what will. A totally science-y and futuristic danger.

There is doubt. There is deception. And there is a smashing climax! With some terrific twists at the end. I can't wait for Book Two, can't wait to read how it takes up from where Demons of Time left off.

A thought which is so relevant to the present:
In a war, there is nothing right or wrong, nothing righteous or immoral. It’s two sides fighting for victory. That’s it.

P.S. There are minor grammatical/editing mistakes, which can be counted on the fingers of our hands. Seeing an excerpt of my review, along with fellow bibliophiles', of the author's previous book published in this one just made my day!

I am not an avid reader of science fiction. I can’t even remember reading many science fiction books in the past.
....
However, reading the book ‘Demons of Time: Race to the Seventh Sunset’ by Varun Sayal made me fall in love with this genre of books.
I had the privilege of reading Time Crawlers by the same author, earlier. Now that I have completed reading this second book of him, I can say he is an amazing writer with great imagination and creative thinking.
As a reader, I could feel that the author has put a lot of effort into writing this book. This book is only the first one in a series and I am anticipating to read the next one.
....
The story of the book is all about the fight between good and evil, which always exists. But the writer has taken it to another level through his imagination. I could sense so many morals included in the story. Sometimes, the ones whom we think are good and bliss can turn out to be
the opposite at a certain point of time. That is a moral I deduced from the story. Also, the fact that truth always wins is evident in the story.
The style of writing is satisfactory for me. It could keep me engaged in the story. Language is not so hard to understand. I could learn so many new words while reading this. One difficulty I felt was in understanding certain portions of the writing. At times, the content became too
complicated for me to understand. Other than that I loved the book and I recommend it to everyone who loves to read Science fiction genre.

Genre demon, Varun Sayal

Like the characters in his book who can travel across time, the author can easily traverse across genres creating a potent cocktail. One moment you feel you are reading a mythology book and another second you are reading a sci-fi fantasy. Pretty unique I would say, hope to read more of these heady mixtures in future.

Name of the book - Demons of Time: Race to the Seventh Sunset (Time Travelers) by Varun Sayal
Stars given - 5 on 5 stars and a big 'keep up the great work' cheer.
My take on the book -
I loved it. I mean what's not to love, there's adventure and love and mythology and most importantly bad guys with too much power getting beat. And Apocalypse, I am a big Supernatural fan so it's one of those things that I like to stop from ever happening. Hey!!! Let a girl have her imagination.
The language isn't just simple it's picture perfect. It's like having free cable connection for your head. *wink*wink*
The cover is amazing, it's one of those books that you want to own as a paperback. Hope my Bookish Guiding Angle is listening. The narrative is fast moving and there's not a single dull moment. All in all this a book that will give your library a little more to boast about.

There are not many books which are written in a fantasy world which really impresses the reader. It takes a lot of back-end work for the author to ensure that the world he creates is not only easier for him to understand but also makes the journey of his readers entertaining and thrilling. Varun Sayal has done the same with his first book in the Time Travelers series named “Demons of Time”. The book also has the tagline of “Race to the 7th Sunset” which is actually based on the theme of the story. Whenever Time traveling becomes the core of any story, it becomes very difficult for the readers to maintain timelines and understand the aspect of each and every world that the author creates with his imagination.

This book begins from 3077 BC and is written in quite relevance to India with even the characters’ names based on Indian culture and tradition which makes you feel at ease as soon as you start reading the book. The cover-page does make it look quite Western but the book reflects complete Indian-ness and makes you excited for how author is going to show India and World in the future years. Author has played a wonderful game (in a good sense 😉) by traveling the characters from 3077 BC to at most 2024 which for us is just within a decade kind of future from today. This makes it more exciting to know how these old Sanskrit-based characters are going to play their part in this technologically advanced world.

Another thing which author has taken care is to keep as less characters as possible so that readers can easily go through the story without finding it hard to go back and remember which character they had missed among ample of them. The important characters such as the protagonist Tej, Rigu, Kumbh, Vetri, Manika, Gajendra are very well developed as you can actually understand their mindset and character. Even the other small and supporting characters are nicely described.

The kind of twists and turns that takes place in the first half of the book when Tej is told about his own reality and the way he needs to go to future to save a mass killing gives the book a powerful start. Then the way in the future, the character of Ravi is utilized for Tej’s campaign is what gives this book an acceleration in the second half. His conversations with the intelligence department, colleagues etc. are very entertaining and the way he uses his mind in this new environment and the way he learns the new technology etc. is nice to read and go through the journey of a character along with the time leap. Another thing I would like to mention is that the whole journey of time traveling right from preparation to getting to the target is of just 7 days but still the steadiness in the story-telling speaks a lot about the writing skills of the writer.

The author ensures that he gives reasons and logics to everything he is talking about but also takes care that he doesn’t become too technical to make it hard for readers to comprehend why the certain activities are taking place. The explanation of physical concepts is done in a very easy language which makes this book one of the recommended books if you want to get into other tough books from the same genre. I liked the narration of the story as author choses to talk about everything in equal quantity- hate, love, betrayal, magic, physics, emotions, happiness, sorrow, anger, time-traveling events, relationships, etc. The book before ending throws another twist with an edge of emotion to it which makes us excited for the 2nd book in the Time Travelers series. I wish author keeps all the upcoming books in the similar pattern- simple yet thrilling. I give this book 4 star out of 5.

Thanks.

Demons of Time is the science fiction mainly focused on time traveling. The story talks about how Tej takes on his revenge on Time Demons who tortured him and his mother for years. 'Time Demon' is a term used for people who can travel through time. The time traveling concept becomes a bit more acceptable here because only the consciousness of a person is said to be traveling not a physical body. The book also talks about time readers who can see the past, present and the future.

The Author have tried to explain each and every concept that he showed in the book. My favourite part was how a physical object was carried forward from the past to future through the 'Time Vahaks' because a physical object otherwise cannot time travel. And the concept of information overload from the host body's brain that happens to a Time Demon when he/she acquires it.

The language is simple and understandable. It gets a bit slow in between though certain unexpected revelations and concepts keep u hooked. It has an open ending because it has a sequel to it. This was my 2nd book from the same Author . I found it good but i liked 'Time Crawlers' more. Waiting for it's sequel . Recommended !!!

I hope you guys have already gone through my review on the book “Time Crawlers” by Varun Sayal and those who have enjoyed reading that you will definitely love to read this book “Demons of time” as well.
“Demons of time” is a fantastic piece of work by the same author. It is basically a sci-fi novel that displays various elements particularly time travel, demonic possession and speaks about time-readers and time demons that can calmly travel through parallel universe.
The plot portrays a story of a young child Tej, who later discovers himself to be one of the time demons. One horrendous night, a well-known sage named Rigu rescued Tej and his mother from two of the oldest time demons named Kumbh and Vetri, who not only tortured Tej‘s mother but also urged to destroy the world in some future era. What did Tej do to terminate the destruction? Why do you think the sage rescued Tej and his mother? Was it only a noble act or was there any evil intentions that were yet to reveal?
To be honest, I found it to be more intriguing as compared to the short stories of the book “Time Crawlers”.
The narration is great and the author has well maintained the suspense till the end of the story which will easily keep the readers glued to the book. The language was quite simple yet well-polished.
I want to thank the author for sending me this book as an ARC but I regret my delay in reviewing the book. But finally when I picked up this book, trust me; I was completely blown away with the twists and turns in the story.
The plot, though not that fast paced, but digging deep in to the story the readers will definitely find it quite unique and alluring. I really appreciate the author for bringing out a more alluring story out of the same theme as we all have read in Time Crawlers.
The title is apt to the storyline.
I think the cover looks attractive but could have been a little more catchy though.
The characters are well developed and the ending will definitely take the reader aback which makes this book even more thrilling and fascinating.
Thumbs up from my side.
My rating: 4.5/5.

Tej and his mother was trying to run away. While they got blocked by Kumbh and Vetri, Guru Rigu saved them and locked Kumbh and Vetri in a Time-prison. But Vetri got bitten by Tej earlier. Afte that he escaped in that prison and almost died.

What is the time prison? How he locked them there? And Rigu told Tej that he's time demon. How he is time demon? what is time demon? How he gained the power to become a time demon? Why Vetri died because of that small bite? Was he having poison in him or time demons have that kind of special powers? From whom Tej inherited that powers or is it already inside his body becaus of genes?

Read this book to find the answers. While reading the book, I was also like Tej. In some pages I was confused, some pages I was very excited and some pages I got interested like what's that, how it can be possible like and all.

But overall I liked it. It took sometime to understand but it was only good after we understand that particular part. End was really amazing and waiting for the next book.

"Truth is like that bitter drink which looks appealing when in the glass but when ingested, only brings pain and sorrow"

😈 Took me a while to get into it but once I did, it really started moving
😈 Felt like some things were a little over-explained. However, since this book was fairly short, it's understandable
😈 Some pieces of information got "dropped" too quickly
😈 Tej going into the future was kind of funny😂
😈 Bit of a plot twist
😈 I'm interested to see where this story goes

What a fantastic read.
This isn't usually my bag but I thought I'd give it a whirl and I'm glad I did.

Travelling through time to stop time demons.
You get the full story explained, with twists, turns and surprises.

The concept of this story keeps you hooked in and submerged in what the future will look like.

The story is unique. Highly enjoyable.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Short Summary of the book:
This book tells the story of Tej, a young man, who was tormented by two time-demons. His mother was sexually, physically and mentally abused by the two and she escaped from them with the help of a sage who trapped the demons.
When one of the demons escapes to the future, Tej is asked to help catch him again. Will he succeed and what will he find out in the process?
What I liked about the book:
I particularly liked how the young boy and man always continued to think for himself and did not take things for granted.
What I didn’t like about the book:
The writing style in places was rather hesitant, although this did not take away from the book in general.

My favourite bits in the book:
I loved where the young boy Tej bit one of the demons to try and save his mum. I also enjoyed how he thought for himself and made his own decisions.
My least favourite bits in the book:
I didn’t like it when the happy ending was not such a happy ending after all. The risks of time travel, right?
Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author?
The #1 appears to indicate more books are to follow in this series.
What books could this be compared to and why?
This book was completely different to the previous book I read by this author. I must admit I enjoyed this book more than his other book, “Time Crawlers”. As this is not the usual type of books I read, I have difficulty finding any books to compare it with.
Recommendation:
In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:

Children No
Young Adult Yes
Adult Yes

If you like Science Fiction and mythology this book might be the book for you.

I look forward to reading more books by this author.

"There are times when after conquering one significant milestone in the journey, we realise the benign ignorance we had about the colossal challenges faced by the next milestone".
.
Written by the author of 'Time Crawlers" Varun Sayal, 'DEMONS OF TIME: Race to the Seventh Sunset' is a sci-fi thriller which is the first book in Time Travelers book series.
.
[Spoilers ahead]
.
The book revolves around Tej who seeks venegeance for the brutal torture given to his mother by two Time-Demons Kumbh and Vetri.
Saved from the hands of death by a well known sage Rigu, Tej owes him his life.
With the guidance from his Gurudev Rigu, Tej time travels to both past and future to prevent the plans done by the Time-Demon to remove a large proportion of human life, unaware about the harsh truths which were about to hit him at the end. With only seven days in hand, Tej has a great deed on his shoulders. 'Demons Of Time' is surely an unputdownable book.
.
Each and every scene is nicely explained so that you won't even miss a single detail.
I personally adore the way how the author combines mythology and technology together beautifully.
.
A Huge thanks to the author @VarunSayal for sending me the ARC in exchange of an honest review!
The book releases on Amazon on 15th April, be sure to buy this coz it's worth the 'time'!
.
My one-word review would be MINDBLOWING!

This book is an enjoyable and well paced sci-fi story with some touches of fantasy.
As you might be able to tell from the title, this book is about time traveling. The main character Tej is seeking vengeance against two notorious time demons who subjected his mother to brutal tortuer. After an encounter with them, Tej is rescued by Gurudev Rigu, from certain death.
Rigu guides Tej to right all the wrongs; done by the time demons to wreck havoc in the world, by time traveling to both the past and the future. But to do so, he has only seven days. Seven days to right all the wrongs as well as to endure all the harsh realities that he comes to be enlightened with along the way.
I really liked how the world building consisted of Indian atmosphere and culture. The combination of mythology and technology was very interesting to read.
The penmanship is good but some situations, in my opinion, were too easily solved. There were instances in the writing structure where I thought that sentence delivery could have been better.
Overall, it's a good foundation book for a new series that will please all the sci-fi and thriller fans.
