Absolutely awesome addition to this series.

Admittedly, one of my favorite aspects of the Sorcerous Moons series is the outlet it provides for my Jason Momoa fantasies in the guise of Lonen, our barbarian king. But over time, I have come to love Oria just as much, and I really enjoy the interactions between our Destrye king and his Baran queen.
In this installment, Oria must resist the temptation of her ancestor's mask while learning to wield both the mask and the wild magic outside of Bara. This requires great courage (and some restraint) on Oria's part, with even more restraint and trust on Lonen's part. At the same time, Lonen must consider the challenge for his crown that was issued by his brother, which puts them on a countdown to return to Dru within 7 days.
I enjoyed Lonen and Oria being on their own again as they travel to seek out Lonen's mother. Our couple continues to strengthen their bond through trust and shared experiences, which must be difficult given their inability to touch. Jeffe has definitely come up with interesting ways to work around this problem, and our romantic aspect of the story has not suffered in that regard.
I liked the new characters added to the series in this story, and I think some of them will make strong additions going forward. Lonen's mother seems to be a force to be reckoned with, and I really like the possible addition of warrior women.
If you are a fantasy romance fan, you definitely must check out some of the fantastic offerings from Jeffe Kennedy. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the author.

I’m so excited to be back in the world of Sorcerous Moons. I was a little concerned I wouldn’t remember what was going on in this book, because it was two years ago I finished the previous book, The Forests of Dru. I even debated about rereading that book first, but then I had Oria’s Enchantment in my inbox and I couldn’t wait to start it.
So, this world exists with magic. There is Bara. They are a society of sorcerers and sorceresses. The men have one type of ability that pairs well with the female’s ability. It makes them extremely powerful. Destrye are strictly human. But the Bara have been pillaging their land, and more importantly, their water. So they come to take on the Bara and save their people and their lands. Oria is Bara and Lonen is Destrye. They come together to try to bring peace to both sides, but things are never that easy. Oh, and there’s a dragon who is a little bit of smart ass at times.
So we are pretty far along in their story by now, five out of six book. So I can’t say a huge amount without giving spoilers to those who haven’t read the earlier books. What I can tell you, is this is a very well developed series. The world that Kennedy has built is pretty amazing. The characters are even better. I just love Oria and Lonen, not to mention Chuffta, Oria’s familiar, the small white dragon you see on the cover.
I will say it was interesting meeting Lonen’s mother and the women she has with her at her retreat (I think that is best word, I can’t remember exactly what it’s called in the book). We also finally get to meet more of the derkesthai, the dragon like creatures like Chuffta.
Speaking of covers, isn’t this cover amazing and it isn’t even the best in the series (not that I don’t like it, I just think that The Forest of Dru has the best cover).
Anyway, if you like fantasy series with romance throughout the series, this is the series for you. It is just as good as her Twelve Kingdoms series. This one just follows the same couple throughout the whole series.

Had it been like 2 years? I had honestly forgotten everything :/ After a year my mind starts to let things go. I could not even remember why they could not have smex! But the thing is, it did not matter that I did not remember things. The book worked great anyway. Of course I did wonder why they could not do the deed, which lead to more thoughts, lol.
It is a novella, so it is a fast read. It is book 5 and in this one Lonen, our handsome barbarian king, is with Oria, his beautiful witchy wife. His asshat of a brother has thrown down the gauntlet and they need to take their kingdom back. Ugh Nolan, I do not remember you, and I still do not like you, asshat you.
There is also a magic mirror that causes problems. Oria's magic is different.
Not a lot happens, and still a lot happens. Things move forward quickly, and everything I say from now can be a spoiler....
I like that it was a fast read and that I did not have to remember everything clearly. I could just go with the flow.

This series began back in Lonen’s War with Princess Oria being betrayed by her own brother, an event that echoes down the entire length of the series so far.
In this latest book in the series, events have almost, but not quite, come full circle, as this title is named for Oria, but the events that it encompasses revolve around Prince Lonen’s brother and his betrayal of Lonen.
But a whole lot of things have happened along the way. Oria, the princess-bird freed from her gilded cage, will have to come into the power that she does not even believe she has in order to save both of their kingdoms – and both of themselves, as well.
Lonen has to grasp his duty and his destiny – even if, or especially because – he needs to leave Oria behind in order for her to be able to leap ahead and save them both.
If she survives a testing process directed by dragons. Either she finally masters her power – or they will destroy her before she destroys everything around her – including herself.
Escape Rating B+: Oria’s Enchantment is the fifth book in what was originally listed as a trilogy – and the story isn’t done yet. It’s turning out to be “trilogy times two”. So a Hexology, or a dual-trilogy, or a sextet.
Sextet feels appropriate, as the Sorcerous Moons series, whatever you call it, is a fantasy romance that does some very interesting things with sex and seduction. Lonen and Oria’s marriage begins as a marriage of convenience because her magic will not allow anyone else to touch her skin-to-skin without causing her tremendous pain. That their relationship changes from cautious allyship to a true marriage in spite of that limitation – and just how far and how sensuously they manage to skate the edge of that restriction, has been steamy as well as fascinating.
About the story as a whole – the story is a whole. By that I mean that the Sorcerous Moons “series” feels like one long story rather than a series of even slightly separate books. Like the Lord of the Rings, where the story that begins in Fellowship ends in Return of the King. The ending of Fellowship is merely a pause as that book does not tell a complete story in and of itself.
So it is with Sorcerous Moons, This is one story from its beginning in Lonen’s War to what looks like will be its ending in the next book, Lonen’s Reign. So start at the beginning and not anywhere in the middle. The individual books are relatively short – so the compilation of the whole is only a moderately sized tome.
The part of the story that takes place in Oria’s Enchantment is a rise from the “waiting game” that occurred in the previous book in the series, The Forests of Dru. That book felt like the trough of the entire story arc, and now we’re on the rise that leads to the conclusion.
Things finally happen here, although mostly in the second half of the book. The first half is a “road story”, of which there have been many in this series. Lonen and Oria do a LOT of travelling, in order to fix what’s wrong in either one kingdom or another – and to give them time to bond as a marital partnership.
It’s in the second half of this story that events begin to ramp up, as Oria finally takes control of her power and her destiny while Lonen forces himself to do the right thing for the kingdom he never expected to rule.
I can’t wait for what should be the epic conclusion to this series in Lonen’s Reign. Because Lonen and Oria are going to have to make a lot of war to fix everything that’s wrong in both Bara and Dru!

I discovered Jeffe Kennedy through a blog tour and I looked up some of her books on Amazon. Since I love reading reviews, but have a habit of reading the bad reviews first, which I think is a detriment to me because those reviews have kept me from purchasing a few of the books I was interested in. Well, anyway I signed up for Jeffe Kennedy's newsletter and received a complimentary book. The book was Lonen's War and thus began my journey on a wonderful adventure.
I'm going to try to sum up all 6 books in this review. Please forgive me it I fall short in some way. Jeffe Kennedy took us on a journey in the Sorcerous Moons series; a journey of love, adventure, intrigue, magic, vengeance, and restoration. Lonen and Oria were wonderful characters and I loved the banter between them. The author did a good job of showing how Lonen and Oria's love grew over time and how that created a strong bond between them.
Their relationship was unique in many ways and I wish I could say more, but I fear I would be giving too much away. What I will say is that the intimacy and sex, especially the first love scene, was done in an outstanding way and cemented the couple's bond. I also think Jeffe Kennedy is a genius in how she wrote that scene. The magic that Oria possessed, the mystery of the Trom and the mystery of the Ponen made this an exceptional series.
For those readers who don't like cliffhangers, this series may not be for you, but I would urge you to give it a chance because you will not be disappointed. To Jeffe Kennedy, I'm now a fan and I hope you will give us readers more Lonen and Oria. I want to know to know what happens to Gallia! I would love for her to get her own story. Will Salaya get a story too? I think the Sorcerous Moon series is a saga, not a series, because I feel there are more stories to be told.
As I close out this review, I don't think I adequately explained or conveyed how awesome, amazing, and beautiful this series is. If you love fantasy, romance, magic, and dragons, this series is for you. If you are new to fantasy and romance then this series is a great place to start with this genre.

I loved this installment of the Sorcerous Moons series! There's some real plot advancement, new intriguing characters and another journey - this time, one that will lead to Oria's doom or salvation. It's not meant to be read as a standalone as it starts directly after the end of the The Forests of Dru (in fact, I had to re-read the last 3 chapters of that one to remember where it had left off) and the ending also indicates it will directly lead into the final book. But if you like fantasy romance, excellent worldbuilding and magic systems and well drawn and unique characters, you'll enjoy this series as a whole. Each installment is novella length, exciting and well worth the read.

This book was short but also painfully long. Every time I think there's going to be some character growth one of the main characters finds a way to prove me wrong. It feels like they have the same conversations over and over just in different ways. On top of that it felt like so many sections just dragged on with unnecessarily long and overly convoluted descriptions. This book should have been half of the length that it was and I feel like the one before it as well and they could have just been combined into one book. But then on the flip side things that needed to be more flushed out what kind of glossed over. I'm going to read the next book just because it's the last one and I've already made it this far but the series has really deteriorated.

I feel like maybe this book was the bridge to the next one.
While it was still fantastic and the character development truly potent, I found Oria super irritating pretty much from beginning to near end.
The up side? I'm 99% sure it was intentional. It really showed how she challenged herself, struggled and grew.
Poor Lonen has just been the perfect, loving, protective husband from day one but he too learns a valuable lesson.
Love and duty, honor and strength, loss and gain, these themes arc the book like Scatha and Grinnin across the sky.
This is an amazing series! You won't regret reading it all from beginning to end.

I'm unable to do a full formal review of this book on Fresh Fiction at this time. I enjoyed this novella in the Sorcerous Moons series! I had rather forgotten about Oria's pull by the magical mask that she is working with, but once I remember what was going on, I happily settled into this quick story. Jeffe's stories always pull me in, and Oria's Enchantment is no exception!

This was the best kind of story for me. I loved when the HEA couple spent almost all of the page time together. Just the way Lonen and Oria did. They complemented each other in strengths and strengthened each other's weakness. Loved how their love overcame all differences. He had no magic while she was to become one of the most powerful sorceress in generations! Sharing my favorite scene:

Sorcerous Moons was one of the most amazing series I've read and loved. I'm dying to read the finale when together Lonen and Oria would unite two races to establish one peaceful nation! Oh wow. What a collection of unexpected twists! I just couldn't get enough of it and read this in a single sitting! The complexity of this plot and the intricacies of the well-crafted characters makes this series an absolute joy to read. Absolutely loving it.
