Walt has a mysterious box hidden in his safe. He has been told it contains a device that can be either a blessing or a curse to mankind depending on who possess it. A Dr. Skinner comes to Kansas City and convinces Walt that he will use the device for altruistic endeavors. But others covet the device for more clandestine purposes. It is the classic confrontation of good vs evil. The question is: which one will possess the device in the end?

No spoilers from me, other than to say that we finally learn what's in the box that's hiding in Walt's safe. You know, the one that several governments and a group of bad guys are willing to kill for. The one that can be used for good or evil...yes, THAT box.
Walt is hired by a scientist to find the box, not knowing that it's been kept safe by Walt all this time. But before Walt lets the cat out of the bag, he's got a bit of leg work to do. Who is this guy? Where does he get his money from? How exactly does he plan to use the box? And what are the moral implications of letting something like this out into the world?
It's another moral dilemma for our favorite gumshoe, and a well written one at that. Robert Thornhill has once again brought us a mystery to tickle our funny bones and to get us scratching our heads.
What would you do if you had the power for good or evil? I'd say, "Keep that Pandora's Box closed and toss it in the deepest part of the Missouri River," but you'll have to read Lady Justice and Good vs Evil to decide for yourself.
Lady Justice and Good vs Evil (Lady Justice, #34) by Robert Thornhill
Walt received a box containing a device that could be "A blessing or a curse" Walt is soon to find out exactly what the mystery is. Dr Skinner comes to him (Walt) an tries to assure him that this device is for the best purposes. But not everyone feels that way, some want nothing but bad things to come. In the end will Good or Evil prevail?
A fast paced Mystery/Comedy, with an original plot that moves at a fast pace. Likable characters, unique in every way. With humor, mystery and thrills I was hooked from the first page until the end. An all around good read, I highly recommend Lady Justice and Good vs Evil (Lady Justice, #34) to all.

I am so happy that we finally get to find out what is in the Mysterious Box. It was living rent free in my brain and driving me crazy 😂 Other than that, it was very much a novel where Walt was on his moral high horse all the way through and he kept getting judgy with people, so I zoned out of that a little.
In Robert Thornhill’s 32nd book in the Lady Justice Series, a mysterious box that can change people’s lives for good or evil falls into Walt’s hands even though it was wanted by every bad man/country you can imagine, as well as the USA. Walt ends up pretending to throw it into the Missouri River, but secretly keeps it in his locked vault at home. Book 34, “Lady Justice and Good vs Evil”, takes up the story with the introduction of a scientist who wants to use the device for the good of mankind. Obviously, Walt is hesitant, but finally agrees and the fun begins! Of course, the secret is not secret and once again everyone is on the chase with Walt trying to foil the bad guys. Well-paced, this book holds the reader’s interest. Local landmark destinations are used which makes it more interesting to local readers. The dilemmas faced by Walt are ones we all grapple with from time-to-time: are white lies in the name of good, bad; how much can we trust those around us; is it ever right to hide the truth? The ending of the story appears to finish this predicament, but so did the one in book #32. Is this another slight-of-hand ending to the machine? I guess we’ll have to see what Thornhill has up his sleeve next.
I enjoyed this book because it was nice to finally find out what was in the box from the book Lady Justice and the mysterious box. It is not necessary to have read that book but I think it helps you understand and enjoy this book with a bit more understanding, especially everything that Walt went through and why he is so reluctant to let it go in this one. Once again this book is mixed with humour and at the same time with a serious side that gets you thinking. When Walt comes to the aid of two men he had no idea that it would finally put an end to the mystery behind the mysterious box currently hiding in his home safe. The two men hire him to find a box, not knowing that he already has it. With all the lives the box has already claimed Walt wants to make sure he is not making a mistake handing it over and learns why the box was in such high demand, wanted by five different countries. Knowing the secrets haven't made the box any less dangerous as governments still want it. George Kuch does a good job but I didn't like one of the voices he used for the scientist (it sounded to robotic) so only a four star for this performance but otherwise he brings Walt and his friends to life with style.
( Format : Audiobook ) "Return of THAT box." Some time before, Walt Williams appeared to destroy a mysterious box which had brought the attention of and death to agents from several countries including the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans and the U.S.A' s own Homeland Security. But unable to casually destroy something said to hold the potential for great good as well as great evil, and still not knowing what it was, Walt secretly hid it in his home safe instead. Now two different men are in Kansas City - and want to hire him to find it!
With his usual superb ability to mix humour and serious issues into a great very readable storyline, author Robert Thornhill finally reveals what it was In that box which had caused such furore. The excellent George Kuch again becomes the elderly PI, recounting the story and giving voice also to the numerous other characters. Like all of the Lady Justice books, Good versus Evil is completely stand alone, although the appreciation of Walt and his pals increases with every book read.
Good book, wonderful series and highly recommended.
I love all of the Lady Justice series. There is a mystery running through each story with some comedic passages thrown in for relief.
Robert Thornhill is an author who keeps things current and relevant in all his books. He covers sensitive subjects and intertwines his stories around them with a positive outlook and satisfying finish.
This book deals with a device that can erase memories and give the receiver a new lease on life with a clean slate. He talks of how dangerous this device would be and how many people, countries would vie to steal it and use it for their own selfish means. This is a frightening premise but with advanced technology today anything is possible.
This is an enjoyable mystery that is a quick read but will leave you wanted more of Thornhill’s easy prose and quick wit.
Lady Justice and Good vs. Evil is my thirty-fourth enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners, as always dealing with current social topics, this one being pay-day loans. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Up next is Lady Justice and the Quirky Arlo Quimby. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
***** This item that governments, crime lords, and do gooders want to possess is a worse conundrum than the one faced by Pandora. In an earlier book Walt had experience with the thing, but now a credible professional with no sense of greed is in search of the thing. First Walt much decide how to deal with it, and then deal with the fallout of his decision. Along the way several pertinent social problems are exposed and the reader is invited to do some serious thinking. But of course there is always humor in the books! Another excellent and stimulating tale! Of course I loved it! George Kuch continues to be the voice of Walt Williams and the other characters.
Since I have been a fan of Robert Thornhill for many years now I am always excited when I get to download one of his books for free. This latest installment is a continuation of the last book, but you could still enjoy it if you are not familiar with it, since the Author always does a good job of giving a backstory. As usual there was plenty of action and a fast moving story, sprinkled with humor and suspense. One of my favorite thing about the series is, that the main characters are older and yet still manage to have a full life, so many times once you reach the age of 50 you are no longer interesting. And Robert proofs that this is just not correct. Very entertaining.
My husband and I listened to this audio book on a recent car trip. We found ourselves not wanting to arrive at our destination because we didn't want to stop listening. Robert Thornhill is a master at writing his Lady Justice series. This book continues the story of Walt Williams and his secret box. My husband had not listened to Lady Justice and the Mysterious Box but had no problems following the storyline. Once again George Kuch is the narrator and he delivers a wonderful story. Thank you Robert and George for a great entertainment.
I love this author! I started another box set by a different author at the same time as I started this one. ( I love my kindle unlimited.) Of course I could predict what would happen. Walt and Kevin drew me in and I devoured this book. It's a quick but satisfying read. Spend some time getting to know this author. You won't be sorry.
Audiobook review: Walt Williams and gang are back. This time the mysterious item Walt stored several books prior is the subject and desire of good and foul. There are several twists and turns in this story. The characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a fantastic job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is another great book from Robert Thornhill. Walt and his gang of friends and family are into another mystery. A box hidden in safe is out and everyone wants to get their hands on it. Will it be a blessing or a curse.
Nice to see what the Lady Justice group are up to. I thought this outing a bit weaker than others, so not as high of rating. Also, I disagreed with Walt's conclusion.
It was nice to see what the mystery box was from a couple books before in this series! I enjoyed seeing what it did and the trouble it would cause. Definitely a fun listen.
We finally get to know what's in the mysterious box written about in a previous book. I have read all of Mr. Thornhill's Lady Justice Series and I think this one definitely fulfilled my expectations. We get to hear from the same crazy crew and go on more adventures. This truly is about good and evil. I would highly recommend reading yet another of these great mystery/comedy novels. The plot was well thought out clear to the very end. Enjoy reading!
Lady Justice and Good vs Evil Kindle Edition by Robert Thornhill
Walt Williams had stashed a mysterious box in his safe without telling anyone. After a period of time people wanted to hire him to find the contents of the box. Robert Thornhill incorporates current events along with fantastic fictional ideas. I absolutely love reading "The Lady Justice," books and anxiously await the next installment.
2-23-19 The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. George Kuch hits it out of the park once again!!!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
