Earth is just a prison realm for humans, who don't know it. FYI: Accidentally breaking out is frowned upon. Well, crap.
Thanks to some epic bad luck, Vera tumbles through the gate separating Earth from the other realms of the world. Beyond Earth, the world is full of magic. And completely off-limits to humans.
Vera’s new protector, Kale, is the cranky, overbearing, irritatingly-attractive Guardian responsible for executing humans who leave their realm. Turns out, her kind broke the world a thousand years ago.
WAY TO GO TEAM HUMANS!
Vera needs to find a way back home before anyone else figures out what she is. Her best shot at getting there with all her bits intact? Kale. Who still might decide to kill her, if his flesh-eating demon horse doesn’t beat him to it.
Oh, and mythical monsters are real. All of them. Good times, right?
*Adventure, magic, slow-burning romance, and kick-butt characters with plenty of attitude*
This is my 1st read and review for this author and this is such an amazing story I enjoyed it immensely. Could you imagine breaking through to a realm where magic was just the norm but humans were not allowed to enter well Vera did. Kale is a protector of the Gate his job is to execute the humans that go through because humans nearly destroyed their world a long time ago, Vera wants to go back home but will Kale help her or kill her he hasn’t made his mind up about her yet. I loved this story I haven’t read anything like this before and I’ve read a lot of books, I loved the fantasy world that this author created it’s a very original story and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. A fantastic story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This is the first book I've read from Alicia Fabel and I'm hooked. The characters are intriguing and enjoyable, the storyline flows well through out the book. There's action and suspense from the beginning that will hold your attention to the end. There's mystery, magic, humor, and lots of twist and turns. This is a must read.

My first read by this author and I am impressed with the characters and the story itself. Kale is the guardian of the realm that Vera finds herself in after tumbling through the gateway to earth. Humans are forbidden in this magical realm and Kale must keep her secured until she can be returned to earth safely. This is a world filled with magic and mystical beings and long buried secrets. An exciting book with some snark and humor and a little romance.

Awesome story! Enough twists to keep you guessing, without you knowing what is going to happen ahead of time. I'm totally sarcastic, so I love all the banter between the characters- you never know who is going to make a snarky remark next. Overall, though, the characters are constantly fluctuating, and getting into trouble, so it isn't the same, monotonous undertone throughout the whole book. I am psyched for book 2!
Overall, this is a really cool YA fantasy novel. There is tons of magic and a great cast of characters. The entire world building and society is super unique. I like how there is a good build up of conflict that eventually ended in a big cliffy, which only made me want to the next book. The slow burn romance is one of my favorite parts. I really liked how the characters get to slowly know each other and hopefully get together soon. Otherwise, one-click this awesome YA fantasy novel.
Earth is a prison for humans but they do not know it. She falls through a portal and finds out the truth. She needs to hide the fact she is a human as it means death if she is found out. Can she get back to earth? Can she stay safe? See if she can I received an advanced copy and I enjoyed it so much that I want to review
A first read of this author by me, this storyline made the perfect impression! I was hooked into the main character right from the start, and the intrigue kept me glued. The world building was vivid and truly has me wanting to know more about all the characters. Kale, Addamas, and Mimi are the driving forces yet every character could support tangent storylines! A wonderful start to a possible addiction! Looking forward to more! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
I was lucky enough to get to read an ARC copy of Siphon Magic and I'm glad I did. Vera is fun and sassy and I really enjoyed her learning about magical realms and creatures. Kale is hot, but he's more than just your average good looking hero. He has a past which is gradually revealed through the book with at times makes you feel for him and at times makes you want to yell at him. His character is wonderfully complex and fascinating. It's far from smooth sailing for these two characters and I loved that about them. I can't wait to find out how things intensify in the rest of the series. If you like drama adventure and a whole new look at magic and fantasy, I recommend this series.
This book has so many twist, turns and unexpected happenings that it will surely keep your attention. The realms and characters in this book are absolutely amazing! I couldn't love Vera anymore. She has a amazing heart and a double edged tounge lol

This book is your typical fantasy book with the main character that you either love or hate with a bit of subtle romance thrown in. Except at the same time it’s not.
Well written, the world building is a sight to see and the main cast is kept small and developed well. Every moment of this story had me questioning what was happening next.
And what I’ve found is so rare in all books, is all loose ends being tied up, every hint that’s dropped earlier in the book is brought back later and closed up.
Don’t let the three stars fool you, those mean I would 100% read this book again and still enjoy it. I can’t wait to read the sequel, because there’s so much more to learn from these worlds and this slow burn romance.
Vera is a protagonist that is easy to love and support. She’s strong and funny and her reactions are natural. This isn’t your, one day I’m a regular girl the next day I know karate. And Kale is as complex as they come, his humour and affection never feels forced, their relationship builds naturally and slowly.
Overall, while I can’t say this book was without flaws, none were the kind that made me want to put the book down and walk away. If you’re looking for an easy read that showcases a complex world, this is your next read. There is no need to pause and think about what’s happening while reading, something which I both dislike and like, there’s no complicated background read-between-the-lines moral story here, just a fun medium paced adventure.

I love when I stumble across a book that’s extremely well written, with a strong H and h, and exceptional world-building. It doesn’t happen often, or ever, really... so yayyy for this book!!!
Vera and Kale are everything I look for in a dynamic duo. They’re both strong, independent, and slightly flawed. They have truly humorous banter without over-the-top, trying-too-hard snark. Neither one are ever struck dumb by the other’s physical appearance, but there is definitely some chemistry bubbling up between them. It’s slow-burning for sure, but it’s just the perfect amount to fit into the action of the story.
Action. Yes, there is a good amount of it, and it’s very well-done! There isn’t a ridiculous amount of bloody battles, thank goodness. Honestly, I tend to skim most battles when they drone on forever and ever. Vera and Kale are on a world-saving quest, so they have a lot of struggles and obstacles to overcome, all while building an amazing world that you’ll want to be a part of.
There are a couple of wrinkles in the beginning that led to little gaps in understanding, but everything was cleared up beautifully in the end. I’m getting started on the second book immediately, and I can’t wait to see what goodies it has in store for me!

I found this book to be an easy and quick read. The storyline kept me interested from start to finish. It is a pretty typical YA fantasy book with some slow burn romance.
The writing level is not consistent throughout the book which is a good thing; in the beginning, the writing was very juvenile so I am glad the author seemed to find a more balanced voice for the main character as the book progressed.
I found that the book was missing some important information at times but I was still able to follow without too much pause.
With all that said, I will definitely read book #2 because the story was pretty interesting and I'm curious to see how it evolves.
Siphon Magic - Unraveled World Book 1 by Alicia Fabel is a wonderful story to read. This is a wonderful new start to a brean new series, by a brand new author for me. I loved reading this story very much cause I love reading about action and suspense ,mystery, magic, humor, and lots of twist and turns threw this whole story. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves to read about action and suspense ,mystery, magic, humor, and lots of twist and turns in the whole story.

For the reader that loves to read about fantasy/supernatural beings, the worlds they are from, and where those worlds meet, this book may be for you. The book has a great story line about prophesies and saving all of the worlds, but at times there are areas that do not flow well. This did not deter me from reading until the end, nor from starting the next book in the series. The main characters are down to earth with their struggles that they continuously work through in the book. As the title suggests, there is magic (multiple forms), and comes with the drool worthy male character, who fights his inner demons and his growing infatuation/love for the girl that doesn't realize what she is deep down. Let's also not forget about the other characters you will meet with their unique and quirky personalities. This book has parts that will have you giggle or literally laugh out loud.
Well, I'm not normally a huge fantasy fan but this author changed my mind. I couldn't put this book down. Vera is sarcastic, funny, and a perfect foil to grumpy but hot Kale. The secondary characters suck you in as quickly as the hero and heroine. I didn't just follow their journey, I rode along with them. The writing is fresh, funny, and action-packed with vivid descriptions that leave you laughing or gasping. Try it! It may be your next addiction!
It was interesting to start a series where there was a world of magic that humans were not supposed to enter & 1 girl falls through the veil that separates this world from Earth.
A story of sarcasm, wit, snark, guts, courage and romance. A very original concept and a captivating tale.
Though this is the 2nd book in the series this is the 1st book that I read and honestly I loved it.

What wonderful creativity! I especially loved the rideable chickens and the house that moved on slithering snakes. The characters are eclectic (to say the least) and the story is unique. Unfortunately, there are a lot of errors that took me out of the story at least every page. And I would have liked it better without the innuendo and the smattering of profanity. But Alicia Fabel has real talent; I look forward to reading more from her.
I enjoyed the character dialogue/ banter. Great world building and character depth. So much more to discover. Excited for the next book as Vera's journey continues! Hope for the sweet taste of love, in the next one. Fingers crossed. Shout out to the editor. No matter how good a story is, if grammatical errors are a reoccurring theme, it takes away from the experience. This book was written and put together beautifully! Thanks!
This book had so many twists it seemed like a maze we were never going to get out of. And we are still stuck in it. This book isn't as light as the first although there is still plenty of humor. I still love the characters. And I can't wait to see how this story ends. So hoping for a HEA.
This was such a cute story . It had me laughing in so many places and tears in a few others. As soon as I thought I knew what was happening it would take a turn. I can not wait to see what happens next
I couldn’t get through this book at all. I tried multiple different times to read it, but it was rather boring and never grabbed my attention. Maybe it improves later on in the book, but I was too bored with it to give it more of a chance.
The plot was definitely interesting and well thought out as it all comes together nicely done with unexpected twist and turns to really be excited to read.
The ingenuity. Mind blowing. For real. Characters and species come to life in ways that are new and yet feel realistic and natural.
Foreshadowing the way it should be—all the answers in front of you, but not obvious until the reveal. I could gush all day. Great surprises in this book.
Passion where you feel the heat, but don’t feel like a voyeur. Mild and sparse foul language. And the violence also is refreshingly kept from the level of making your stomach feel queasy.
Strong female relationships. Not *just* a strong female lead. Well developed, complex characters.
This is the story of 19-year old girl who's imprisoned by a strange world that won't let her escape until she catches a case of Stockholm syndrome for an immortal being. True rating -500 stars.
