About the author

Martin Harry Greenberg was an American academic and speculative fiction anthologist. In all, he compiled 1,298 anthologies and commissioned over 8,200 original short stories. He founded Tekno Books, a packager of more than 2000 published books. In addition, he was a co-founder of the Sci-Fi Channel.

I know it's a few decades ago, but this is a great introduction to fantasy for newbies. Some good stories that I'll remember for a lifetime. Inspiring.

This book is badly written by pretentious amateurs. Most of the stories are just plain boring. The writers are trying (VERY hard) to seem open-minded and many of the stories contain characters of almost every other country (mostly Hispanic). They put Spanish/Portuguese words all over the place screaming "LOOK HOW I'M BETTER PERSON BECAUSE I INTEGRATE OTHER PEOPLE! PLEASE LOVE ME! I'M NOT A NAZI, I SWEAR!".
The translator (of the Bulgarian edition) didn't do a good job either. The are MANY things that are not translated and are just left like the original. The least she could've done was to write them in Cyrillic. If it was so important to know the original names or meaning of the things they could've written them under a line at the end of the page (I don't know there's an English word for it). It becomes very hard to read if some foreign words are interrupting your thoughts. Maybe I understand English, but maybe I don't!
Very bad job on the book design.

I couldn't finish the book. I got super frustrated over the story "Laugh Track" ("Лентата на смеха") by Harlan Ellison - it was super bad.
