Torn from her quiet life on Earth, Cam doesn’t expect to end up enslaved to an alien ruler. But even as he trains her to submit to him, she begins to see through her master’s cold facade. While her body learns to surrender, her heart learns to love.
Exiled by his people, Kievan Rus has fought to establish his place in the galaxy. The space station he rules with icy control is the outward symbol of his success and it means everything to him - until a beautiful woman challenges his restraint. Her warmth eases the cold he has felt for so long.
But Kievan has promised a trained human female to a member of the Royal House. If he fails to deliver, everything he has struggled for is in danger, including the lives of everyone on board his station.
Can Kievan abandon everything he has built? And if not, can Cam’s love survive such a brutal betrayal?
Each book in the Alien Abduction series features a different couple and can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. For readers 18 years and older. Contains explicit sexual situations and a very dominant hero.
Cam and the Conqueror is book three in the Alien Abduction series by Honey Phillips
This book SCREAMS of forced seduction/rape. No matter how pretty the words are I didn’t care for this.
Our hero paid someone to steal our heroine, so he can train her as a sex slave. Our heroine barely put up a fight and forgot about the abuse she endured. Non of this is consensual and the heroines logic. No thank you.
Unfortunately, Cam and the Conqueror was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.
I stopped reading at 23%. No matter how prettily worded it still screams of r*pe. I don't care how the rest of the story goes. He paid for someone to kidnap her so that he can train her as a s*x slave and although she was barely putting up any kind of fight she still didn't want to be there. Being held against your will and knowing that you would probably never be able to go home can really mess with your mind. I don't care how she's able to redeem him or whatever, this is still a no no for me.
After meeting Kievan in the previous book, I really wanted to see him again. I even mentioned it in that review (see here).
I really should have been prepared for what I found here. Based on Kievan's actions before, when he had to convince people of his ownership of Beth, I really should have known. But I wasn't and I didn't and here we are. I read some alien BDSM and I can't complain.
Kievan had saved Dragar and Beth from a disgusting prince's evil machinations and still owed the prince a human slave. That's where Cam fits in. He's supposed to train her for her future and yet she was made for him. How can a dom ever resist a true sub?
While there wasn't much to their relationship outside of sex, it seemed to work for them and therefore it worked for me. I found myself enjoying this far more than I could have expected. I guess I'm a sucker for filth!

Argumento:
I tried, but I just can’t keeping going with this. I probably wouldn’t have gotten as far as I did except I was stuck on a plane with only this story downloaded.
I wasn’t surprised about the ick factor in this book, but I hoped for better.
In book 1, some of Jakkar’s thoughts clue you in on the mentality that consent is optional if you don’t love the woman.
Book 2, the male MC [Dragar] seemed decent (so I had hope for the series) however Keivan (the MC from this book … the “conqueror”) was introduced. Keivan rules a spaceport thing. He manages many shady things that include getting Dragar into 3 arena fights. Arena/gladiator fights, including “to the death”, are not uncommon in sci-fi romances BUT the person or persons that provide and oversee these fights are not usually considered hero material. So Dragar fights and kills 3 other poor schmucks. No one cares about the other fighters dying - not a single sentence or word is spared for them in the book. Nor does anyone mention that Keivan owns all of this and doesn’t have to force these death matches if he doesn’t want to. You could see that the author was placing Keivan to be the hero of the next book and I was seriously wondering how she’d redeem him.
Book 3, First page introduces Cam - thoroughly sexually abused (but not penetrated) being presented to Keivan by the guys he hired to abduct a human from earth explicitly for him to train as a sex slave. He already has 5 sex slaves he rotates daily. It is CLEARLY not a consensual situation for any of the slaves (though, since they are stuck as sex slaves anyway, the others seem to appreciate his sexual prowess and their nice rooms). Cam’s main issue with his harem is she’s jealous of the other sex slaves. Really?! She totally forgets about all the abuse that happened when she was abducted [abducted by his orders]. She is immediately in lust with him (incomprehensible to me) and quickly jumps on board with the sex slave training (but still would rather not be a slave). This book is just a whole lot of abuse and rape. There is no redeeming Keivan even if he sacrifices his spaceport to save her from the guy HE abducted and trained her for (what I assume will play out but I’m not reading anymore of the book so who knows). This book essentially says it’s all ok if he falls in love and thereby she becomes important to him; It’s ok for him to have sex slaves, abduct people, have people fight to the death if he doesn’t care for them? IT’S NOT OK.
The Good: Kievan was an interesting character in the second book and I was eager to see who he ended up with...
The Bad: I didn’t realize how quickly this series was turning into alien BDSM. I don’t mind that style of book, I’ve read plenty, but I was disappointed that I was bored with all the sex. Every part of their relationship revolves around their master/slave dynamic, which isn’t a fave of mine. And it took entirely too long for kievan to wake up and smell the cafir.
The Bottom Line: again this was only ok for me. I think I’m going to give this series a break for now.
Okay, so...by far, this one's got the most smut in in. I feel that, justifiably, a lot of readers were anticipating Kievan's story after being introduced to him as such a compelling character in Beth and the Barbarian, so it makes sense that the author felt they had to "up the ante".
*nods* Makes sense, makes sense...
That being said, and while I could get through it okay, I do agree with those readers who have either had to quit this book or who have had complaints about it for being too borderline rape-y and definitely iffy in terms of consent, respect, etc. Like, okay, WE know that Kievan's an alright guy when you get down to it, but I feel like that was buried beneath quite a few layers, and that nevertheless he caused Cam a lot of pain in the story--and not only the good kind. Indeed, she really is too instantly forgiving, but...I feel like that's kind of the only cop-out the author had in order to get the characters back together without prolonging the angst. You kind of just have to take it as being what it is, but...
All feminists beware of this book: you will hate it.
That being said, I only had a few moments of discomfort, which ultimately make this a lower ranked read than Beth's story, despite the insta-romance there. Of the 3 books I've read in this series and by this author so far, I'm surprised that that's the one that's highest in my estimation, but oh well.
Will probably be continuing with this series at one point, but for now reading three in a row is enough for me.
I might be so happy Im speechless. I cant seem to find the words to describe how much I loved this book. Every single word of it. It was the perfect amount od bdsm with the added element of being a sci-fi romance that took it over the top for me. I WILL be reading to 2 books before this. I WILL be reading this book again. And I WILL be impatiently waiting for the next book to be realeased. I highly recommend. Happy reading! Rating 5 stars
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ok, I am going to give up on what seemed like a good series. I can't stand the unmentioned triggers and d/s bullshit. Its definitely not mainstream, and ruins a good story.
We met keivan in the last book, the space station owner/manager/boss...an outcast sardoran with a taste for all kinds of kinky fuckery. After the events of the last book and a big glowing glowing iou to the emporor... steps have been taken for a human woman to be brought and trained as Beth’s replacement. Cam is unsure how or why she has been kidnapped, all she knows is she’s now a sex slave and she is drawn to her captor and has no hope in fighting the feelings she has for her captor.
There was me thinking the first two books were full of lusty feelings and behaviours ...DAYUM this book is Hamm packed with all sorts of rumpus!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Go hawt alien kinky space rumpus!!!
I really enjoyed this book, it had a totally different kind of flavour to it in that the books focus was the developing relationship between cam and Kievan...and that was great... because it keeps the series fresh and relevant... nobody wants to read the same kind/type/style of book over and over again... so it was great to see this author literally ‘switching’ 😈😈😈 things up.
I have no idea why Cam loved that arrogant jerk.I like my heroins to be strong not a lily livered milk toast. I liked the first two books, so I continued to read, but I ground my teeth every time she called him master. I confess I skipped over a lot of the last few chapters it was tedious and repetitious. I like romance but I like a good story. If there was one it was buried beneath all the sex!
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Kievan going into this book. For one, he was kind of a jerk to Beth and Dragar when they ended up on his station. I mean, dude. No. Just no. The fact that Beth felt some of his loneliness and sense of alienation beneath the ruthless image he projected was possibly his one redeeming grace. Well, that and he shielded Beth and Dragar from falling into the hands of a very bad man.
In other words, the guy might have been a jerk, but he wasn't a total jerk and SOMETIMES PEOPLE CHANGE.
That said, Kievan was in a tough situation when he took Cam in (which is my nice way of saying "abducted"). He needed to placate the royal he'd defied and handing over a trained human female seemed like a small enough price to pay. Except, he started to have THE FEELINGS for Cam. And THE FEELINGS made things messy.
As for Cam, she was a pretty forgiving lady. The fact she'd been abducted and forced into slavery with the sole intent of being the plaything for a bad man (although she didn't know that part), made her forgiveness of Kievan downright saintly. Being in love with the big jerk might have helped the forgiveness part along, though.
Some sexy time. Some confrontation. Some soul searching by an alien who ends up being an a-okay guy. An a-okay guy with a few dominant tendencies. Niiiiiice.
I didn't like this book at all. Let's see the male character instructs the heroine how to be a sex slave hence she called 'Master' which I hated. She had to sit at his feet follow him one step behind, never look at people. The character 'Cam' is so weak and wimpy I did not like her. There's also spanking, as punishment, and I don't like that either. I liked the male character 'Kievan Rus' about 10%. Because this is a series the sex scenes are pretty similar in each book but in this book there was a sex toy (what they used I wouldn't consider a toy) and the sex scenes went on forever that I got to the point of skipping those sections. I prefer strong female characters in the books I read. I know there are 14 books in this series and I have started Book #4 but I'm leery of reading it for the above mentioned reasons. Now I thoroughly enjoyed Book #12 LILY AND THE LION.
The male leads seem to be getting progressively worse. This one literally changed the quarters he used for his harem ( yes he had a women every single day and night) into a nursery for his children. That’s weird. Very weird. Not sure I will continue with the series.
After reading the first two stories in the ‘Treasured by the alien’ series, I wanted to try a book from a different series. The blurb of this book intrigued me so I decided to read it even though it’s the third book in the ‘Alien abduction’ series. (I think it can be read as a standalone book.) This book was a bit different from the other books I have read from this writer but I liked it too.
Let me start by saying that if you don’t like a dominant/submissive story than don’t read this story. Because this is definitely a Dom/sub story.
The main characters are Camellia ‘Cam’ Williams, a human female and alien Kievan Rus, a Sardoran male. Cam is abducted from earth and brought to Kievan. Kievan owns the space station Sigrast and his word is law on the space station. He’s a dominant and controlling ruler but with so many different alien races living and visiting the space station you need to be a tough ruler to maintain order and peace. Unfortunately, Sigrast and the people on it are in danger, someone from the Royal House threatens to take it from Kievan by force unless he extradites a human sex slave to him. That’s the reason for Cam’s abduction but she doesn’t know this. She only knows that she’s now the slave of Kievan, a dominant alien male who rules Sigrast and has a harem with beautiful alien women. From the moment that Kievan sees Cam he’s attracted and intrigued by her. He treats her differently than his other slaves and the more she becomes submissive to him, the more he wants her for his own. Although Cam fights Kievan and the feelings he evokes in her, she can’t deny that her body enjoys the erotic and dominant ways that Kievan controls her body. Slowly she’s falling for him, not knowing that he has to give her away soon. Being an outcast means that Sigrast is the only home that Kievan has, so when the time comes to give Cam up, he does it knowing he breaks her heart but soon after he realizes that her heart wasn’t the only one broken in the process. So now he must find a way not only to set her free her but also to mend her broken heart and make her love him again. Can he do that and also save Sigrast? Kievan has no choice, he has to try.
I liked both character, although it took me some time to understand and like Kievan. He was very controlling, arrogant and dominant but he was never cruel, at least never towards Cam. Yes, he was a harsh ruler but that was also necessary to keep control of Sigrast. There were many opponents who wanted to take Sigrast away from him. I liked how the relationship between Cam and Kievan developed, both were lonely. Cam lost her mother, her only family and Kievan was an outcast. But they found something with each other. Cam found that she liked the submissive role and Kievan found he loved Cam’s caring and nurturing side. He loved how she took care of him. And yes, Kievan has a harem but don’t worry, he never cheated on Cam with them. From the beginning, he was fascinated with her. The sex scenes were very steamy and hot. There was chains, spanking and submissive role play. Unlike the aliens in the ‘Treasured by the aliens’ series, Kievan didn’t have a tail but there was a mate theme in the story. The story was told from both POV’s.
The few secondary characters in the story were interesting. I’m sure that some of them will have their own story. You had Kievan’s assistant, the alien females in Kievan’s harem, a few faces from the previous books and other interesting characters in it.
‘Cam and the conqueror’ was a great story. I liked it. It was erotic steamy but it still had a good storyline and it was easy to read, nothing dark. I will definitely read more story of this series and writer.
Here in book 3 the hero always planned to train her as a pleasure slave then sell her to an evil man (due to the events of book 2).
He never told the heroine.
He made her call him master and he chained her up all the time and called her pet. He liked feeding her with his hand and using a bunch of weird sex toys.
He also has a harem so there was a little bit of "other woman" drama. Hero only has sex with her though.
Eventually they get their happy ever after but he made a lot of mistakes.
OH BOY. Did Beth and the Barbarian put me in a false sense of security. It was really good but all the parts I disliked involved a guy named Kievan.
This book is about Kievan. And Cam.
So it's a whole book of stuff that makes me icky. Kievan is a dominant and a slave owner. He has Cam as his sex toy and it's...it's a lot. There is SO MUCH SEX in this book. Maybe I was just going through one of my repellant phases, but I sincerely disliked it, almost quit in the middle.
Man... the first couple of books I was like this is awful. This one was not really all that pleasant. But I wanna continue the journey :) that makes for 3 stars right?
The supposed love interest is a rapist and abuser who owns sex slaves. Look, dark fiction with dark themes and evil people has its place and I've read some pretty messed up books. So I wondered for a while why this book enraged me so.
It's because nobody in this book, including the people it is happening to have any negative emotions about the terrible things this character is doing. It's completely unacknowledged by anyone. The heroine and her fellow sex slaves are perfectly happy being abducted, owned and raped by him. And of course, he feels no remorse for his actions whatsoever.
He only feels sorry that he sells heroine to an even worse rapist slaver, who acts as an example to the reader of "look, someone worse than the supposed love interest so actually he's an ok guy". Pretty common writing tactic, but in this case the "worse guy" actively mutilates people just so he can be worse than the """"hero""" because there is pretty no other terrible shit that the """""hero""""" hasn't done.
I already hated this character in the previous book, where I thought he was the villain. Apparantly not. Jokes on me for clicking next in series without reading the blurb. The two other books I've read by this author weren't really terrible in this way, just bland, so I was a bit blindsided by this book.
I already wasted too long writing this review but honestly, even if you're a fan of "dark romance" don't read this, the author is not talented enough to deal with this topic. Definitely done with this author.
I feel like this book needed a trigger warning at the beginning. When I got to the end, I actually went back to the beginning to see if there was one and I missed it, or if there was really nothing. There was nothing.
This book is not for someone who is not aware of the power dynamic/exchange of a Dom/sub relationship or the Master/slave dynamic, or someone who is generally unaware of uninterested in the BDSM lifestyle. If you don't know what these are, move on, or do research and come back. That being said, there are still problems, primarily surrounding how this relationship starts and consent.
Despite these issues, I actually still liked Kievan's character. While this book focused primarily on Kievan and Cam's relationship, I was hoping for more of the story arc to be slowly revealed. Instead, the villain starts monologuing to his co-conspirator, telling us everything. A bit disappointing. I'll still read the next book just to see where the story will go, but I'm hoping for more plot.
Kievan is owner of a space station which he rules with an iron fist. He was a main character in Beth and the Barbarian. Yes, he was hard, but a reader could tell that he had a softer side hiding under that steely demeanor. Cam is young, beautiful, a hard worker and feisty. She also an unaware sexual submissive which is perfect for the Dominate Kievan. The plot is well written with plenty of interesting characters and suspenseful, sometimes vicious events that move the story of the survival dilemma the Sartoran people face forward. I must say that this was not a book I would normally read since I find the idea of kidnapping unwilling women and selling them into slavery repugnant. However, there is a satisfying HEA.
It was very steamy for sure. I wasn’t sure about the whole slave and harem dynamic initially but in the end it wasn’t too bad. I didn’t understand why the heroine was so affectionate and loving towards someone who made her a slave in his harem and told her that they were exclusive only temporarily. Somehow the author made it work, the heroine didn’t come across as weak exactly, just sensitive and loving. I was also more than a little disappointed in the hero’s actions towards the end, but without it the story wouldn’t have been as good, so I get why it happened.
**spoiler** Once he had her as his slave he never slept with any of the other women in his harem (thank goodness).
I didn't feel a connection between the two characters and the over use of the word honey was beyond. I skipped through most all the "intimate" parts, mostly just skimmed them for content because again, the level of connection I had as a reader was slim to none. I had this up on my "shelf" to read for quite some time. I remember the other books in the series as being a few steps above this but maybe that is just due to time in between. There is a reason this one sat on the shelf unread for so long. Im not going to let the next in series do the same but if it doesn't improve Im giving up on this series entirely. Ive read my share of really GREAT BDSM books so its not that I just wasn't in to the type of book this was. Just as tiny little disclaimer
You can write as many beautiful words as you please but nothing—nothing—will ever make slavery sexy.
I think this is where Honey Phillips and I part ways. I wanted to read through the rest of this series to get to some of the later volumes that intrigued me more but I just don’t think I can stomach more of the “no but he’s a special kind of slave owner! He makes sure his slaves enjoy it!” Cool story bro, still slavery.
These books have a lot going for them and from a plot and world-building standpoint I’m more than thrilled with Phillips’ work.
I just don’t think there’s anything that could ever redeem this trope for me.
I'm gonna give it a two because of the supporting plot to the other books (there's like none and this one can be skipped and I recommend it but it also introduces the next male love interest for the next book). Basically our heroin gets abducted and even though she becomes part of a harem, there's no story to it. The women dissappear and are just written off as just being let go. She doesn't put up a fight and is in love with the guy in the first chapter. So again, I'd skip this one.
I need the word honey to be used 50% less. I started to cringe every time cam said it by the end. I loved the first two books so much this one had the potential to be amazing but it missed the mark. Kievan had the potential to be this dark mysterious alpha but came off creepy and cam came off as victim of Stockholm syndrome. Her immediate submission and love of her kidnapper just didn’t work
I'm not a fan of this one. I hated that Cam seemed like a week doormat with no real personality. I'm sorry but being kidnapped, sexually assaulted and sold she just seems to accept it. Kievan was a pig and the fact that he had multiple slaves, gross. Conqueror? No just a pig. He did nothing but sexually exploit her and others. Pass! Not sure why I finished the book.
I really like Anna's story. This one makes me not want to continue the series. I don't go for the master/slave thing. This is a big NOPE for me. I was kind of nauseated by the fact that Cam still assumed her "slave pose" at the end, kneeling at his side like a dog. I need break from the alien abduction storyline after this one.
