I usually love Terri Brisbin, but I was pretty shocked with this one. It was a pretty depressing read for me. The paranormal was pretty unbelievable, and the middle just kept dragging on. I don't think Brisbin had enough to fill a normal size book and it showed. The ending was not good in that it was just an unbelievable, fairy tale, are you kidding me feeling. I can't believe the heroine wouldn't "break" with all she went through. She seemed too emotionally healthy with everything that had happened to her. Just my opinion after reading so many other of her great books.
The other thing that bothered me was the such large amount of people H/h had sexual relations with and it didn't seem to bother either H/h. They were both referred to as "whores" in the book.

I purchased this book because I loved the very first line in the Prologue:
“ The damp fog crept off the sea, moving onto the land and over the hills of Quinag like sticky seagrass.”

The blurb had already alerted me to a setting of Medieval Scotland, and I could visualize the setting in the description in that very first line. I was hooked.
And I was not disappointed.
Moira’s all consuming need for revenge at the beginning of the story is understandable and considering the barbaric time of the middle ages, dealing out death was a normal way of life then.
As she begins to come back to who she was before the massacre, I found that not only was she kind hearted, but extremely intelligent.
The Supporting characters are quite a mix bag. You have men who have only one use for women, political ambitions and treachery. Servants who are loyal, and those who are bought.
And the Fae. Without whom this story would have no foundation.
The story starts off with a lot of action, then there is a lot of lust filled pages and then more violence and finally a break in the action so the story can catch up. With most the story taking place in Connor’s chambers.
There is so much anger and frustration between Moira and Connor that the sexual tension is almost needed to help these two find their way to each other.
There are 20 chapters in ‘A Storm of Passion’ and Terri Brisbin really knows how to make the “Do they or Don’t they?” question dangle. Even up to the very end I wasn’t certain and I was crying about it!

Connor is not my idea of a swoon-worthy fellow when we first meet him in the story, I actually found him a bit of a yes-man.
However, after Moira returns from the farm, Connor started working his way into swoon-able. It took me a bit to warm up to him, but I would haply introduce him to a good friend.
I was so caught in the “Do they or Don’t they?”, and the subplot of political scheming. Totally swept away by the development of Moira’s character and disgusted by Lord Diarmid’s person, my emotions were everywhere.
And... a large part (forgive the pun) of Connor’s moon cycles is his all-consuming, uncontrollable lust. The graphic descriptions border on the erotica and there is LOTS of it. The bed-sport scenes are written in real English, so there is very little filling in the blanks.
I really enjoyed this book. It is the first title I have read from Terri Brisbin and I am certainly looking forward to reading others.
I am also vastly interested in meeting Connor’s brothers, whom we meet briefly in ‘A Storm of Passion’.
There isn’t a lot of historical description in this story, but there is a lot of setting description which was done so well I could almost see and smell where the story took us.
I’m going to read this one again a time or two, and then pass it on to my best friend. I just hope she gives it back!

Terri Brisbin is one of my favorite authors. I can almost always count on her for a good story. Storm of Passion was a bit of a departure for her in that while this was a Highland romance, there was a heavy paranormal and heavy erotic element. Especially the erotica, so much so that I was almost shocked I was reading a Brisbin book at first.
The story starts off with a bang. There's quite a bit of violence, especially toward the heroine, although I think if you are thinking realistically, she experienced exactly what would have happened during this time period. The first half of the book literally flies by and is an absorbing read, however the second half, which is the turning point in the story, seems to drag. I thought some aspects of the story were overdone and others barely touched upon, so it seemed inconsistent.
Overall, I'd give this a C. Not a bad read, but not a great read either.

A Storm of Passion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Terry Brisbin
This story is one of Ms Brisbin’s older novels but, of course,
new to me. I have read many of her novels and loved them completely.
A book about Medieval Scotland is not my favorite subject but very interesting. It’s is quite different from the Highlander books I so associate with Ms Brisbin.
It contains a lot of violence and more than enough erotic sex. The heroine is all consumed about finding the Seer the person that doomed her family to death. When confronted with him she realizes how he too is controlled by another and does not know how devastating his visions have been to others.
The book lingers on anger between the two offset by erotic sex. I enjoyed the read but I must say not one of my favorites by this talented author.

A Storm Of Passion:
A most unusual enemy to lover story filled with curses, magic, in depth passion, and romance.
Quite a different story from what I was expecting. I would say this is a bit on
the dark side of a drama fantasy romance story.
It moves at a fast pace and held my interest. The characters are deep and intriguing.
The amazing end is very shocking for the characters and the reader. What a nice ending for
such a huge explosive dark romance and magic story.

This was a very different kind of story. I've never read a story quite like it. A story where Connor is the son of a sith, and he has several powers not understood by the mere mortals that surround him. He has visions about other people, he was born on Samhain, and it is a very old tale with old Irish beliefs involved. I didn't like it much as it also included many over detailed love scenes between him and Moira. It was interesting, but I'm not reading it again.

Is "paranormal erotic historical romance" too much to fit into one book? Not when it's Terri Brisbin. This classic romance, with an edge, is a perfect storm of worldbuilding and romance, the otherworldy elements woven in with the deft touch of a true mistress of the genre. Originally part of the Brava line, this may be on the hotter side for gentle readers.

A romantic Fairytale
A very unusual and beautiful story, well told. This is full of strong characters with betrayal, and longing for power, redemption, forgiveness, and connection. It is a historical fantasy with an exquisite HEA.
A handful of wording errors brought this 5 star book down to 4 stars.

I don't really like fiction / magic etc so I was hesitant at first.
OMG ...
It was awesome !!!!
I couldn't stop reading.
I discovered a harsh reality with a magical touch of love.
Two souls that tried to be better for each other,
change their world in order to fit together in it
and discover who they really are and what they are capable of.
I think that's the definition of love, isn't it ?

Earth shattering

This book is quite different from other historical romances. Firstly, it's very carnal in comparison. That's not to say that it's highly erotic. There are elements commonly found in Highlander/Regency type books and then there are some scenes that lend themselves to the more erotic and a couple of times, even lecherous. The first sex scene happens right after the prologue and the sex and innuendo are frequent after that.
Secondly, this books deals a good bit in the paranormal since the hero, Connor, is a Seer who receives visions from an unknown source. One element of the plot is figuring out the paranormal source of his visions, where Connor comes from, as well as the repercussions his gift/curse may have on his life. The paranormal force is:
Thirdly, the heroine, Moira experiences a ton of violence which unfortunately was probably not an uncommon tale during this time. She witnesses her entire family murdered at a young age (in the Prologue). She is beaten and sexually assaulted for days (the brutality is not depicted in the book), collared and held captive by chains to a wall and (again mostly not depicted in the book) uses her body to gain what she wants. What she wants is information and access to the Seer so she can kill him. In her quest for information she seeks out the Seer's chambers hoping to look around and plan her assassination. Some unknown force has compelled her to come this night, a night when Connor requires a willing warm body to help ease the pain the visions bring.
Moria is a shell of a person who has spent the last six years focusing solely on finding and killing the Seer. Connor lives a similar existence except his is masked by opulence which is supplied by his lord Diarmid. Many aspects of this book are hopeless and the hero and heroine are so soiled that it's hard to feel for them. They do grow and learn from one another and though the end was too saccharin, the book and character growth was decent if improbable. I was teary eyed more than once. I cared about what happened. I didn't think the book was slow or uninteresting. It kept my attention and I wanted to learn more. it's not stellar but it's enough. It wasn't a book that I couldn't put it down but I was never bored. On to book #2 A Storm of Pleasure.

My Review: This was exactly the book I was in the mood to read. I great mix of historical romance, steamy heat and touches of magic. I really enjoyed the characters and learning their strengths and weaknesses. At times the story got a little drug out and we didn't get as much into the political intrigue as was occurring around the characters as I would have liked. I think that would have added more to the story. I did however find the conclusion to be very interesting and introduces the characters from the next books beautifully. I will definitely be adding those to my to be read list!

Connor is the first brother and is a seer, is able through visions to help people. His services are sold buy his noble protector. Moira's family has been killed by a vision that the seer gave. For 6 years she has given her body to select men to gain information and limited protection to track him down, to kill him. When she finally tracks him down, she works in the laundry for weeks. Then goes to his rooms to get the lay of the land. What she does not know is he is in the room and is need of sex to help control or focus his coming power.
They have sex multiple times and somehow it eases his the effects. By morning she sneaks out because she does not have her knife. But she does attempt to kill him and comes close. Connor's protector sends her to the dungeon to be interrogated and is raped, beaten , bruised and suffers a broken leg. The day before her execution Connor wants to talk to her and is chained to the wall. Before long she is a most pampered hostage.

This book was filled with many layers of complex emotions. Anger overtaken by forgiveness. Fear overtaken by bravery. Despair overtaken by love. The hero, Connor, is very affectionate. I enjoyed the sensitive side of his nature. Moira is full of a bravery that covers a tender and broken heart. The relationship between Connor and Moira blossoms slowly and with great passion. My favorite part of this book was how Ms. Brisbin describes the details of Moira's slavery. She is cherished as evidenced by her fluffy pallet in the corner of Conner's chamber and the small stool he gives her to sit on while her broken leg heals. The collar about her neck is loose and the key to it rests beneath her bedding. It is a romantic and very erotic setting. The ending of the book was a triumph of love over adversity. I recommend this read to anyone who enjoys a tale of the Isle.

This was a good story but I'm not sure I'd list it as very historical. It's kinda gleamed over all the details really, they spend a lot of time in a room having sex so I suppose not a lot of historical stuff need apply. It was a good read though. To those that didn't like it if you're looking for an erotic book set in the past with a fair story line and some paranormal thrown in, you'll like this book.
If you're looking for a story with more meat, historically and romantically (as these two just fall into bed and it's good to go from there really) entwined you might not dig it that much.

I don't usually go for historical romances, but this had a bit of the paranormal in it, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. I didn't expect to like it much. I loved both Moira and Conner. The smex was awesome, which surprised me and the fact that I got it early and quite frequently, which is always a plus in my book. The flow and plot of the story was enough to keep me interested and I cared for the characters, actually getting teary eyed at one point.

The story was very interesting, but the book was full of graphic sex. IOf she had spent more time on developing the story instead of bed romps, I would have liked the book. I will not read any more of her books.
