Billie Winkler is breaking Steven Wakefield's heart. By competing for a scholarship to study in Spain, she has shattered Steven's plans for their perfect future. Will Billie win a year abroad and risk losing Steven forever?
Jessica Wakefield is miserable. She has the job from hell at Taylor's department store, and if she messes up one more time, she'll be fired! Everyone's taking bets on how long Jessica will last, even her ex-husband Mike McAllery. But there's no way she'll let Mike get the last laugh.
Posing as a waitress in a sleazy nighclub, Elizabeth Wakefield is about to uncover a major scandal. But can she expose the crooks without exposing too much of herself?
Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
Lol, I thought Billie was a guy, and "his" secret was that "he" was gay. (Sorry)
Again, Sweet Valley University will always be my guilty pleasure read hehe.
It kinda annoyed me that most of the couples in the book were having relationship problems and were having fights here and there. And there so much secrecy going around. I kinda liked Jessica on this one, she wasn't annoying. Steven, however, *sighs* I get why Billie's getting mad and resentful towards him, he was kind of controlling. But Billie had her moments too, I hated that she was cozying with Chas (shared Steven's anger towards him). Kinda pissed that I don't own the next book, I really want to know what happens next :3
I knew it was too good to last; the Sweet Valley books have been so wonderful and exciting lately. They were due for a filler book, and Billie’s Secret is it. Normally, I don’t give spoilers, but since this spoiler is revealed pretty early on in the book and it’s so silly, I’m going to tell you. Billie, Steven’s girlfriend, is keeping a terrible secret: she plays the guitar. I’m not kidding. The side plots? Jessica gets a job in retail and Elizabeth gets offended that a fictionalized version of Hooters Restaurant only hires well-endowed waitresses. Again, I’m not kidding.
I’d never advocate skipping an entire book, but if ever there was a book to skip, it’s this one. Still, since they’re such quick reads, you might as well just take an afternoon and knock this one out. Then, tomorrow, get on to the real drama.
