Two guys, two friends, decide to review girls and see what species is the best... sex-wise.
Yep, I know what you guys are thinking, Mehsi what the hell are you reading? :P I have been putting off this manga for a while, but the anime started airing and my curiosity got rekindled and I had to try it out. I loved the first episode, it was weird, silly, and sexy. I decided I wanted more and didn't want to wait another week. I needed the manga. And I needed it now.
The manga did a pretty good job on animating the manga to anime. The first episode has the first 3 chapters of this volume done. So there is plenty of material that is totally new and that I so need to see animated.
Meet Stunk (or Stank depending on translations) and Zel. A human and an elf who started this whole thing when Stunk was totally into elves, while Zel found that disgusting (and mostly for the whole they are 500 years old). However.. Zel also has some strange tastes, he likes human ladies over the age of 50. They decide to ask their friends who thinks is right, Stank or Zell. The results.. well, I won't spoil, but I was laughing. And this is the start of a great new plan, reviewing brothels and checking out the girls at each place. Which species is the best? Which girl the sexiest? The results? The reviews? I laughed them, giggled, and while I was shaking my head a bit that these guys would write reviews about such things I also loved the idea. I loved seeing what our two main guys thought, but I was also delighted to see other guys get a chance at reviewing and seeing their thoughts (oh boy, I felt sorry for the poor halfling when he visited the tentacle girl).
I have to say that the manga is quite tame. In comparison to the anime at least. The whole birdmaid stuff? The anime had a whole sexy part with the birdmaids. The same with the tentacle girls. I do think it makes everything better to have some sexy scenes in it, because come on, you are reviewing brothels/sexy girls and it is a bit of a shame that the manga skips on those scenes and only gives us the reviews, or just a couple of teases.
I just adore Crim though, and I love what we find out about them (this angel has both a penis and a vagina) and how people react to them. Crim looks very innocent, and come on he is an angel, but in the mean time we find some very interesting things about them. *coughs* I do wonder how long it takes for a halo to be fixed and if we will see it happen in the manga.
I wonder how many species there are in this world, and if Stank and Zell will be able to go to heaven (and hell) to check out the girls there. Yes, I will definitely be continuing the manga, and looking forward to seeing it all animated (with extra scenes, teehee) in the anime.
I love the art in this one, it is cute and fluffy but also (in case of the girls) quite sexy!
I would definitely recommend this one to everyone, however... only if you are OK with the topic and are looking forward to some sexy girls.
I saw a positive review of this manga on Youtube and figured I had to check it out. Man-oh-man, I have to say I am quite happy that I picked up this manga.
For one, the protagonists are hilarious. There is a lot of humour in this manga, much of it sex based in form with the story being told. There are also a fair number of site gags that also are pretty awesome and made me laugh out loud. This is helped along by the girls to which the trio find themselves trying out, as often they are the source of a lot of pretty funny things.
For another, the sheer concept of the story is pretty interesting and kind of unique. In an era where there is a lot of monster erotica out there, this is a pretty neat idea that works really well in a fantasy setting. It actually makes a certain amount of sense, all in all.
Lastly, the art works perfectly with the story being told. It's not as refined as some mangas, but it works beautifully with everything that happens. It fits the lewd nature of certain scenes, and manages to capture everything that happens perfectly, and the subtle censorship is there, but not in a way that takes away from the hentai nature of the situations.
In the end, I loved this manga and really can't wait to get my hands on more issues as they come out. There is a lot here that can be used for many, many issues and though the subject may start to get boring later on (which is the only flaw in the nature of the storyline here, that it could possibly get repetitive further down the line) I still expect to gobble these tales up.
So if you like monster girls, and want a manga that contains many lewd situations (though I will be frank, no outright sex is depicted), this is the perfect manga for you!
Not my most feminist read, but you know how it goes.
The character designs can be cute. Most of the girls look like they would be on the sketchy asian MMO ads. I like the skimpy designs. I don't trust anyone else who reads this. I don't care for the male characters at all, but I shouldn't have to say that. Also, I hate the loli shit, it's nasty.
I thought this was supposed to be a sex-positive manga yet the main character, who is willing to do it with all kinds of weird and wonderful half-human creatures, apparently draws the line at "old" (i.e. anything older than your typical twenty-something hottie) and fat women. The art is cute though.
Updated on 5/10/2020: This is an updated review that is, effectively, giving this volume (and the rest of the subsequent volumes) the praise it deserves.
Basically, I read this and the next two volumes in the series and gave them poor scores because I had unrealistic expectations going in and didn't take the time to fully immerse myself in the world. In other words, I was a snobby asshole and now, after giving it some thought and going back to each volume, I can fully appreciate this series and what is has to offer. Now onto the review!
This is an uber fun series full of comedy, ecchi fanservice, and pretty girls galore! The setting works perfectly with the characters and the world, the worldbuilding is fascinating and fun to learn, and the characters are good, too. Crim is the best, but anyone who's read this volume (and this series in general) knows that.
So yeah, those are my thoughts regarding this volume. Short, I know, but I honestly don't want to spoil anything because I think it's best to go into this first volume blind. Anyway, this volume is really good and I highly recommend for anyone looking for some smutty fun!
Do wyboru do koloru!
Tak. Jeśli kiedykolwiek przyszło Wam do głowy, jakby miały wyglądać zbliżenia partnerów z różnych ras i gatunków, to Recenzenci mogą przyjść z pomocą.
I think with books that one would consider erotica, or hentai, or ecchi, or whatever word you want to use for "sexy material", there are a couple of modes that it needs to operate in in order for it to be a success. One, the art and scenes in it need to be sexy/erotic enough that the plot doesn't matter, or if the art isn't going to go full-bore, there needs to be an interesting plot, or characters, or relationship(s) at the heart of the story. Unfortunately, this book doesn't really have either going for it. You get a decent amount of topless nudity, but that's it, and I think a lot of scenes are meant more to be funny than they are to be sexy. As for the second appeal factor for these books, well, there isn't much of a plot. We pretty much immediately get dumped into the world and the conceit of the story, of horny male adventurers who visit brothels and review them for money, cachet, and lust with little description. The two main characters, the human and elf, don't have much personality beyond their lust. In fact, other characters will jump into and out of chapters with little to no explanation. The angel character is probably the most interesting, but also plays into some stereotypes (he's a hermaphrodite, and it doesn't always get treated well). I agree with some other reviewers that it's not great that the characters treat some of the kinkier stuff, like gender swapping, older women, or larger women, with outright disgust. I probably won't continue; I think there is plenty of other material that works better in either of those modes.

I admit these cheescake comics sometimes catch my eye, but I don't usually bother reading them. But a friend recommended this (well, technically he recommended the anime, but I'm more of a reader) so I thought I'd give it a try.
Set in a world with fantasy species like fairies and orcs, two adventurers, one human, one elf, argue over who's sexier, a 500 year old elf who looks young or a 50 year old human who is relatively younger. They get opinions from a couple other guys and post a newsletter on a bulletin board usually reserved for quests and bounties. The newsletter is popular and people buy copies. In this world, prostitution is legal, so the guys decide to make a business out of visiting houses which specialize in different species and writing reviews.
All of that is in the first ten pages.
The first few chapters get tedious. The review pages are heavy text and they happen every ten pages, which hurts the pacing. But soon the stories get longer and we get to know the characters, it becomes more interesting. The characters can get judgy, but they have different tastes, so there is some body positivity from a high level, but not as much if you focus on one individual character.
It's crude and absolutely stupid, but it's pretty funny and does a lot without going completely overboard. The anime being canceled got me somewhat interested in why so I tried an episode or two of it, and I totally get why (it basically being two steps from hentai is kind of deal-breaker for most), and so I wanted to see if this was the exact same and it really isn't. The interactions between each den is relatively short, it doesn't go into a ton of deal, and it mixes in a ton of humor even during the saucier bits. The anime is still crude and fun, it just goes farther with each place and shows a lot more depending on which version you pick up.
This is my review of all the series up to volume 6, even though I could, some of the others could be 4's & possibly 5's (and probably will later)
The drawings are very sketchy and less solid bold lines, although it is very flowy and "natural" feeling to it, but gets kind of spoiled by the chibi nature of the character designs. Some of the succubus joints aren't tasteful, just pushing the gross factor. The page of reviews, basically a wall of text is like a wet blanket sometimes. I'd rather see it and experience it alongside.
Honestly this has become one of my favorite series so far. It’s hilarious and incredibly ecchi. I’m not really good at the whole review thing, but this is definitely a must read if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to have sex with a mythical species 🤌🏽
A lighthearted and very funny story. The art is sexy without being explicit, which is a little disappointing, but doesn't detract from enjoying the book.
It's a little over the top but honestly I love the crude nonsense that ensues. I started the anime before it was pulled (insert eye roll) and picking up the manga was a solid choice.
This was in the kids section at Value Village. It was sealed so I figured I'd save the kids and buy it myself. It was actually pretty good. But I'm probably not going to keep reading.
Seriously, this manga is one of my guilty pleasures. Some jokes are really, really "meh" but I'm weak when it comes to cute girls and angels (I love you Crim, you deserve the world).
This series is not what I expected, although im not complaining. It's less naughty than what I wanted it to be, yet it's absolutely hilarious and I'm down to read more.
NOTE: This review includes the entire story, not just Volume 1. Interspecies Reviewers is a literary masterpiece. It is honestly the greatest story I've ever read. Amahara truly went to the next level. When they could just have constant sex scenes with no feel for the world, Amahara introduces us to each species and makes us understand these species better than any other. There is only one place that the reviewers go to that is, for lack of a better word, unsettling. However, even when at this strange brothel we learn about different species (I won't elaborate more because of spoilers). Lastly for anyone who watched the anime but is worried about the intensity of the original work, worry not, the manga is not as intense as the anime.
