OMG Lucien Earl of Branford know as the Ice Duke and Rose Hardwick are now my new favorite couple in this series. This couple is beautifully written. I can find no fault in the story.

Rose's father has confessed to treason and she ask Branford to help her prove her fathers innocence. Branford is a spy and he does all he can to help Rose to prove her fathers innocence.

Branford Marries Rose to give her the protection of his name. Because real traitor is out to kill her.

Highly Recommend Reading this story. It can be read as a stand alone but its much better reading all the books in order. So You can be familiar with all the wonderful couples and characters.

Really hate this one.
Loved the first book with Louisa and Overlea. The 2nd with Catherine and Kerrick was okay.
But this one? Wow it was bad!

The Unaffected Earl? It should have been The Annoyed Earl given how frequently that word was used to describe Brantford... He was annoyed this, he felt annoyance that... For someone who is supposed to be icy and ''unaffected'', that was NOT it!
Now they said he was a cold fish but then how some were able to tell he has feelings for Rose? At one point Kerrick looked at him narrowly and he guesses the feelings? Give me a break! Mind you, he and Kerrick are not even friends! -_-

Now the feelings, I didn't understand! Brantford and Rose didn't spend time together so I couldn't understand the ''love'' Most of the story was Rose and Catherine plus the Overleas, or Rose dealing with her father's problem, or Rose telling a woman she just met (Ellen) that she is in love with Brantford, or Rose doing this/that. And we had Brantford working on a pile of papers while being annoyed, or Brantford plotting to arrest Standish, or Brantford telling us he was not a monk and wants to do things to Rose...
The moments they both shared together? You can count on one hand! There was NO romance, NO tension, NO connection... nothing! Their first kiss/sex scene was tepid and happened during the last third of the book.

Don't even bother with his one if you are considering it -_-

The Unaffected Earl bySuzanna Madeiros
Landing a Lord #3

Rose Hardwick’s father, having confessed to treason, is in London Tower. Her mother has fled London but she will not leave as she believes her father innocent and wants to support him until his innocence is proven. She has, evidently, had a crush on the Earl of Brantford that has been unrequited when she meets him one day outside her father’s cell. Little does she know that he works for the Home Office. When her friend Catherine offers her the advice to seek Brantford’s assistance in proving her father innocent she complies and surprisingly he agrees…in spite of being a “cold fish”.

This is a story of two people ending up together, finding the real traitor and ending up with a happily ever after. It is relatively short at around 150 pages and I think that having read previous books in the series might have fleshed out some of the characters more and given more insight into them and the story. I enjoyed it but at times wished there was a bit more information about the characters, the tower, the bad guy, etc. This was a pleasant quick read and I hope to read more books by this author in the future.

Thank you to the author for bequeathing me a copy of this book through NetGalley – This is my honest review.

Meh. This one could’ve been better. I didn’t feel the love at all building between the MCs and I really hated that while the earl is supposed to be this cold, unfeeling man he still manages to stick his dick into skanks, as if that’s somehow an attractive quality.

The heroine was strong willed and a bit headstrong, but still warm and sweet and I really liked her. But the hero left me cold.

Not very safe, IMO. It’s mentioned that the hero “isn’t a monk.” But gives no details as to whether he’s been celibate since meeting the heroine, so it’s possible he’s been sliming around with others. His past is mentioned. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others, cheating or sharing. No abuse. HEA but no epilogue and no babies

Many seek his favour, men and women alike, but few glimpse what lies beneath the Earl of Brantford’s aloof exterior. He’s earned the nickname the Unaffected Earl. Rose Hardwick was the most sought-after debutante in London until scandal touched her family and made her a social pariah.
Rose is determined to prove her father innocent of the crime of treason, but first she must convince the Unaffected Earl to help her. When Lucien realises Rose I in grave danger he vows to protect by giving her his name.
This is the third book in the series & although it could be read on its own to fully appreciate it I’d recommend reading the earlier books. The story is well written & flows very well so much so that I was very loath to put it down. The characters have plenty of depth, Rose is likeable & not at all the simpering debutante but highly intelligent & Lucien has certainly met his match. Lucien has built a façade of being aloof & always in control so I loved it when the façade crumbled & he lost control. I’ve read the whole series one book after another & found myself totally engrossed I only hope The Unsuitable Duke has his story as Ellen is certainly hiding something

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

How can a much sought after debutante become out of favor with the ton? Rose Hardwick's father was charged with treason and sits in jail. But she believes he is innocent and sets out to find a way to prove it. The answer comes from Lucien, the Earl of Brantford who is deemed The Unaffected Earl by society due to his aloofness. As Rose tries to convince him to help her, danger comes in to play and Lucien is determined to protect her. What he does is truly hero worthy but you will have to read to find out. There was almost a mystery about his past and Rose seems to be able to get under his outer persona and find the man he is really.
I adored these two characters and their story will hold your attention until the end. Although part of a series, this can be read as a standalone, but you will want to read them all!

This was a dollar deal on Amazon. The 3rd in the series & it's obvious a lot happened in the previous 2 books.

I've heard a lot about SM & most of it good. After reading this I'm not impressed. The dialogue is wooden. The H/h are stiff. The story is trite. It blows my mind the heroine has been in love with the hero for a while & finally marries him without even knowing his first name!!
I slogged my way through it, but deleted it immediately from my Kindle. What a waste of time!
The worst is the heroine acting TSTL at the end. What an idiot!

I hated the cover. The heroine is 18 in this story. The cover woman looks like she's 35.

I have 2 other books in my Kindle of this authors. Here's hoping they're better than this one!

Rose Hardwick is determined to prove her father is innocent of the crime he has confessed to. The Earl of Brantford is just as eager to learn the truth of the matter. When necessity forces these two together, sparks fly.

I did not realize this was the third in a series when I requested it from NetGalley. So, when I began reading, I was very confused and it took several chapters for me to feel caught up on what had happened previously and how matters had gotten to where they stood. Because of this, it took days for me to get through it and I kept getting frustrated.

Rose herself was not a terrible character. I respected her wish to learn the truth about her father. The Earl of Brantford was less easy to like. His cold and distant manner made his moniker "The Unaffected Earl" well deserved. He has secretly been drawn to Rose from the start, and she has had eyes only for him. This made me roll my eyes. His attraction to her is understandable, but her for his was inexplicable.

The plot moves at a well enough pace. There are several instances of sex being described and as this is my first introduction to this author, I did not expect this.

I would only recommend this to readers who want a spicier read. I received a free copy through NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own.

I was looking forward to Brantford’s story since the first installment, but sadly found this book very rushed, especially compared to the two preceding books. Much less character development or background of how they fell in love. Equally great writing, just thought it not on par with the first two.

This book is the third in the Landing A Lord series by Susan Medeiros. I had read the first book in the series, some time ago.

There is a lot of back story in the first two books which has a bearing on the third book, so I would advise reading up beforehand, or being patient about not understanding the whole picture at the beginning of the book.

Rose has been the toast of the ton as a debutante in the previous book, Sheila not treated as a bit of a pariah as her father has been imprisoned after confessing to treason. Her mother has fled to the country to avoid the scandal, but Rose is desperate to free her father, who is being stubborn and not telling her what is actually going on. She turns to Lucien, Earl of Brentford when she meets him at the Tower when she is visiting her father. She doesn’t know he works for the government and is keen to find out how guilty her father is. Her friend urges her to seek Lucien’s help.

Rose has been attracted to Lucien for some time, he is a very reserved and controlled individual, known as the “Unaffected Earl”, in the ton. Rose manages to break though his chilly demeanour, and they work together to uncover the real traitor, and Lucien offers Rose the protection of his name in a marriage on convenience.

Lucien’s natural reserve and role in the mystery keep him from declaring his feelings early on, but they have a strong connection from the first.

They fall in love and unmask the true villain, and Lucien eventually manages to let go of his reserve, for Rose.

A pleasant shortish read, with a nice romance between the Hero and heroine, as Lucien learns to trust Rose.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Opinions my own.

The Unaffected Earl is another great read by Suzanna Medeiros. Rose is a much sought after debutante until her father is accused and jailed for treason. She believes her father is innocent and wants to prove it to the world. But she needs help. Maybe the man who she has been admiring from afar, the Earl of Brantwood, is just the man to help her.
Lucien in turn is entranced by Rose and wants to find out the real story behind her father's treason. Was he framed or was he a willing participant? Only Rose's father knows and he's not talking. Lucien will use Rose to his advantage and may just lose his heart at the same time.
Awesome chemistry between Rose and Lucien. Rose has been dreaming of him for some time and is quite surprised that he is interested in her as well. What starts out as a marriage of protection and convenience has the capability of turning into a real love story for these two.
Highly recommended and I look forward to reading more in the series.

He's secretly affected by her.

Lord Brantford thinks he's in total control. But is he really?
Miss Rose Hardwick thinks all may be lost. But is it really?
When two hearts and minds come together and secrets are revealed, then Lord B. and Miss R. will hopefully realize that what they have is worth the fight.

The Unaffected Earl is a perfect title for this entertaining book by Suzanna Medeiros. Lord B. has cultivated his aloof persona, and it has served him well. But when it comes to Miss R., well he is more vulnerable than he would like to believe.

I really enjoyed this read. It was well written with delightful characters, and good scene movement. The danger seemed real, as it truly threatened the H/h's happy ending. Lastly, the positive outcome was smile worthy, both the ending and the epilogue.

Content 411: This book contains a few mild secular swear words. It also contains a couple of described sexually intimate scenes.

The Unaffected Earl by Suzanna Medeiros is book Three in the Landing a Lord series. This is the story of Rose Hardwick and Lucien, the Earl of Brantford. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Rose was once the golden girl of the town but then her father was charged with treason and everything turned bad. Rose doesn't believe the charges that have been brought against her father as sets out to prove they are false. Rose ends up asking the 'Unaffected Earl' who is Lucien to help her fight for her father. Lucien seems to be anything but 'Unaffected' by Rose the more that he gets to know her. Lucien works for the Home Office so he does have some connections but he starts to learn that Rose is in danger too. This opens him up to offer her the protection of his name via marriage.
Enjoyed this mystery romance.

Book #3 in the series Landing a Lord, The Unaffected Earl can be read without knowledge of the previous books (my case), although I got very curious about the series and I'm planning to catch up with the previous books.

Rose Hardwick goes from a popular Season to be considered a social pariah in few weeks when her father is arrested for treason. She asks for the Earl of Brantford's help to prove her father is not guilty. Brantfort is known as The Unaffected Earl due to his icy way, but goes to Rose's aid.
The story is interesting, still there are times some plots are not well explained - either because it's something that happened on a previous book, or things are solved too fast (the end of the book, for example).

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a decent read. I haven't read a romance of this era in a while and when I tried with a few other books, it felt like either the stories were too mundane or I have lost interest in them. Biggest positive with this book was a plot was a bit different and had more to offer than a simple romance.

What a fun read! This novel is part of a historical suspense/romance series, but this one can be read as a stand-alone (although all of the books are delightful and have characters that crossover, so why not read them all?). Intelligent damsels in over their heads and handsome gentlemen spies that come to the rescue is the general storyline for the series, but each book is unique. The flow of the writing is fast-paced and once you start reading, it's hard to put down. I look forward to the next installment and perhaps a certain sister's chance at finding love. For historical romance adventure fans.

I love the character of Rose from previous books. Rose was a dazzling debutante who every guy wanted for a bride. Until scandal stuck her family.

Rose's father pleaded guilty to treason and sent London Tower. Rose was determine to free her father and find out who he was protecting.

Earl of Brantford was in charge of finding out the truth behind the treason. Lucien was known to be a cold fish by London elite. He was determine to protect Rose and find out if her father was guilty of treason.

Working togther to clear her father name, Rose learned about Lucien's past and vow to help him get past it and find love.

A bit of intrigue, a frozen-hearted duke, a vivacious woman and a marriage of convenience. This story contains all of these elements and make it an entertaining read. I love stories where stuffy dukes realize that they cannot possibly hold themselves from their love. Brantford and Rose's story is a lovely, sweet read. I wished it had been longer so that we could see their characters developed more. Ms. Medeiros' writing flows well and I kept saying "one more chapter".

I enjoyed this book. I mean who doesn't love a marriage of convenience plot, mutual pinning, and a sassy sister. I liked Rose a lot, she was smart, logical, and worked for what she believed in. I thought that the chemistry between Lucien and Rose, you could tell that there was tension from the first scene. I think that Ellen was my favorite character, I liked how she poked fun at Lucien all the time. I liked how dedicated she was, but most of all I liked her tension with the duke. I cannot wait to read their story next.

Enjoyed the story, it was a great read and holds your attention. Rose’s father has confessed to treason in order to protect her and her mother, and she seeks Lucien’s help in clearing his name. It took a lot of work on both of their part’s to do this and there was a lot of action and danger along the way. There is a HEA which makes this a great story. I would highly recommend this book as a great read.

I enjoyed this story. When I requested it from NetGalley I had no idea that this was the third book in a series. However, I did not find this a problem while reading the story, and I only found out after I finished the book. The plot was fast paced and the romance proceeded in a realistic fashion. I would read more books by this author.

Great

This book was a great addition to the series. I have loved all of the characters in the series. Brantford and Rose were already favorite of mine from the previous book. Both characters were well-written. The story flowed smoothly at a steady pace. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
