This is the second time that I've read a collection from the Big Nate comic series. Previously, I've mentioned in my review at the Big Nate: Silent But Deadly that I've tried to read one of the volumes from this comic book before. and that I wasn't able to finish it. Thankfully, I've given this series a chance because after Silent But Deadly, I could say that I'm one of those who really anticipates the future releases.
Big Nate Goes Bananas!
Big Nate Goes Bananas! is another great addition to those who collect all volumes. This graphic novel is for children ages 7 to 12 but as long as Nate and his friends will entertain me, I don't care what people think of me and I'm not ashamed that what I'm reading is for kids. Definitely, a great read and recommended for all readers, and for those who have a good laugh while reading.

My brother was OBSESSED with Big Nate so his review is that it was funny, and it is one of his favorite books now. Kids who like to read Calvin and Hobbes, Captain Underpants, and Dog Man would love this book. 😀😀😀

This book is probably the funniest book out of its entire series. Big Nate: goes bananas is probably the book for you because of its serious humor and creative vocabulary. Sometimes this book teaches you school subjects that way when you’re reading a funny book you’re actually learning something while reading it. This book shows how Nate and his friends go through some relationship drama and teacher dilemma, and possibly go “bananas” about it. But Nate has more than relationships and teacher drama, he suffers from being on a baseball team that has a whimpy dorky name the cupcakes. Also while having his toughest, tallest, and meanest bully in his school on the other team. Nate is gonna go ”bananas.”I suggest that my friends and teachers should read Big Nate: goes bananas cause it’ll make you laugh with joy.

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Net Galley for a free copy of this book in trade for an honest review.

A bit of too late for the review, but this is actually the 2nd Big Nate book I read. It’s still hilarious as the previous book, but maybe some of the jokes doesn’t really rub on me. But I like it as well. It fuels my need for a good laugh.

Starting with how the coach wants to change the baseball team name and ended up with “cupcake” as a team name. And then relationship between Nate and Kim (is there even a relationship there?) it makes the story getting funnier by every turn of page. Every single time, Chester who’s Kim’s boyfriend seems to find a reason to hurt Nate. Also, the question of reincarnation: when you die and return back to life, what will you become? Nate answer’s got shortened by his friends as Cheetos. On the other hand, Mrs.Godfrey wants to come back as her-self. That sends shivers down the spine for Nate.

Overall, the Big Nate series is something to look forward to. With the funny conflict between Nate and his friends and teachers, this series are guaranteed to entertain your day.

Recommend to read on a bad day and read it with an open mind, since there’s a possibility that Nate’s logic is explainable somehow. Fingers crossed that my baby in the future don’t have Nate’s logic.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Gee, how could I resist? I have been looking forward to a new Big Nate book ever since I finished the last one. I kept hoping that it would be there soon so I could read more of Nate's adventures in life, see his friends, and also see what themes we have in this book.

Review to come in September.

I love the Big Nate books and have shared the love with my two oldest boys. Big Nate is funny and you can relate to him no matter your age. The drawings are fun as well.

I like when Nate and teddy kick the ball on accident into coach Jon’s cup and he swallows it and says that’s good coffee.

'Big Nate Goes Bananas!' by Lincoln Peirce is another great collection of comics about a pretty funny middle school kid.

This time around, Nate's baseball team gets a new name, but could there be a name worse than the Cream Puffs? Nate is also very picky about what type of banana he will eat. Nate's favorite cereal has a contest for a new mascot, so Nate designs one, but so does his rival, Artur.

These are fun collections and I always get a few laughs out of the humor. It's timed well and this is a great series for young readers.

In the comedic graphic novel Big Nate Goes Bananas by Lincoln Pierce, there is a mix of comedy, friendship, and drama. In this graphic novel, Big Nate attempts to survive a year of middle school with is best friends, Teddy, and Francis by his side. Big Nate spends his time in middle school by avoiding his mean social studies teacher Mrs. Godfrey, playing for his local baseball team, “the Cupcakes”, hanging out with his buddies, and his favorite pass time, drawing comics! Big Nate spends a lot of time trying to be the best at everything. When Big Nate sends in a drawing of a mascot to be featured on the front of a cereal box, he has competition, his arch enemy Artur decides to enter a drawing too!

I give this graphic novel 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed this graphic novel because there was always something going on. Big Nate would always be solving a problem, trying to accomplish a big mission or task, this made reading the graphic novel very entertaining. Another reason I enjoyed this graphic novel and it received 4 out of 5 stars is because there was very good character development. I was able to clearly understand what type of person each character was; and it almost felt like I knew the person as if he or she was in real life. The main reason this graphic novel didn’t receive the full 5 out of 5 stars was because at times the graphic novel was a little repetitive, I would find myself reading similar things more than once.

Big Nate Goes Bananas by Lincoln Pierce is a good graphic novel for someone who wants to laugh and enjoys humor. This novel is an easy read due to the graphic novel style and the equal amount of pictures as words. This would be a good book for a less skilled reader to read as well as a skilled reader who enjoys humor and drama.

Read Big Nate Goes Bananas by Lincoln Pierce to see if Big Nate can survive Middle school, and if you can survive the book without laughing.
