Note: The decision was made to consolidate all Disney publications under the name Walt Disney Company. This profile is for Walt Disney, the characters he created, and the company he founded. Any questions, please ask in the Librarian's Group.

Walter Elias “Walt” Disney (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist. Disney is famous for his influence in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. As the co-founder (with his brother Roy O. Disney) of Walt Disney Productions, Disney became one of the best-known motion picture producers in the world. The corporation he co-founded, now known as The Walt Disney Company, today has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35 billion.

Disney is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created some of the world's most famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the original voice. He has been awarded four honorary Academy Awards and has won twenty-two competitive Academy Awards out of fifty-nine nominations, including a record four in one year, giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He also won seven Emmy Awards. He is the namesake for Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney, Disneyland Paris, and Disneyland Hong Kong.

Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year, construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) (commonly referred to as Disney) is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was reincorporated as Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel. Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused upon theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. In addition, it has created new divisions of the company in order to market more mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-oriented brands.

The company is best known for the products of its film studio, the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, today one of the largest and best-known studios in Hollywood. Disney also owns and operates the ABC broadcast television network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, and ABC Family; publishing, merchandising, and theatre divisions; and owns and licenses 11 theme parks around the world. On January 23, 2006, it was announced that Disney would purchase Pixar in an all-stock transaction worth $7.4 billion. The deal was finalized on May 5. On December 31, 2009, Disney Company acquired the Marvel Entertainment, Inc. for $4.24 billion. The company has been a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average since May 6, 1991. An early and well-known cartoon creation of the company, Mickey Mouse, is the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company.

At this point, I don't have a relationship to the story anymore. Of course I still care about the characters, but I don't know anything about the story. I'm not sure if that was the reason for me finding this book a little slow, or if it was the story itself.

I noticed that there seem to be a lot of love-related drama going on here, or at least hinted at going on, and I'm not a fan of that. Wasn't a fan of it as a teen, not as an adult. Maybe that was why I ended up quiting the series in the first place? I felt there was more and more focus on the romance aspect of the girls lives? As one that only had negative experiences with boys at this age and that didn't really care about having a boyfriend, it gets boring seeing this story told again and again.

I also felt that the art was a little up and down in this book. Usually it's not a big a issue, but there were some really weird drawing that just made my skin itch.
Oh well, time to read the next book and see if that is any better!

Regarding relationships, I'm glad of the one building between Cedric and Orube. I think that can be an interesting friendship.

Honestly still love the story and the girls, I think this book meandered on a little, and I wasn't a fan of the art change at the start of the comic, it kinda went back to the original artstyle in the second chapter but it did kind of hinder my enjoyment a bit. Still excited to keep reading the story tho.

Mostly just filler and set-up for the new story arc, which sounds interesting so far. This time, we are getting a 4 volume story arc this time. Cedric is exiled to Heatherfield without his powers as punishment for his actions in the previous arc. Kind of a weird punishment, but it seems like they're setting up some good character development for him. As for now, he is still up to no good, and the girls are dealing with trying to control their ever-growing powers. I enjoyed the alternate past/future section and we get some interesting details about Heatherfield's history. We also get some more focus on Orube here.

And finally, a whole volume where Will and Matt actually don't fight. There is much more focus here on Hay Lin/Eric and Taranee. Nigel randomly acts completely out of character, but the Hay Lin/Eric plot is surprisingly sweet and subtle, unlike every other relationship in this series.

Randomly the art got kind of messy in the first chapter, not sure what happened, but it resumes its typical quality thereafter. Looking forward to the next book.

v13 -> 16 (no spoilers)

FR

ENG
I don't know if it's because I was recovering from my bad flu, or if it's just me; but I liked these volumes a little less.
I put 4* because I always like our heroines and the secondary characters. But that part of the story appealed to me a little less. On the other hand, I still love Orube as much, it's always a pleasure to meet her.
I will read the rest very quickly; and then I will have to wait for the publication of the other volumes haha.

"Don’t count your chickens before they hatch!"
The style of the drawings changes for a few chapters, the Oracle is no longer the only one to govern but introduces a triumvirate, before offering a little magical companion creature to Orube! This book is one of my favorites, because there is a really great chapter on the past and future of our custodians, in another possible reality. The key word in this volume is destiny!

Then is introduced the main plot of arc 5: see the summary in slide 2 just above. Hyper intriguing and especially original, it sets the tone and we look forward to seeing the turn of events.

Question of the Day: already book 13.. are you too able to collect a whole series with so many volumes?

There was something weird with the art in the first chapter of this volume but it got fixed later. This volume focuses more on the romance -my favorite part of the story-!

Didn’t think that Cedric will appear again but I’m sure things will get more exciting in the next volume, I’m interested to know how things will go with him and Orube.

I don’t get the relationship between Taranee and Nigel as something seems really off or a part of the story is missing. However, I’m sad for Hay-Lin. Eric was one of the best guys in this series, he seemed harmless. I hope to see him again in the coming chapters.

I enjoyed the past/future part.

Some thoughts:
- I love Cornelia/Peter.... this ship needs to sail.
- It's kinda cute that Cedric really has a thing for books
- and I kinda ship Orube/Cedric??? Though I liked Orube/Ray before...

Liked it slightly more than the trials of oracle... Cool to see the girls face different kinds of challenges.

This seems to be the start of a great new arc in the series! I’m very intrigued by this book of elements, the girls’ powers going awry, and Cedric’s possible rehabilitation!

The girls only had rudimentary powers for most of the story so it was more of a slice of life book than a magical girl book. Some interesting magic items and scenarios.

Este nuevo arco que empieza tiene todas las papeletas de que me encante. Vuelve Cedric, ¿conseguirá redimirse? Un problema mágico dentro de la ciudad y las chicas madurando poco a poco.

As if Will and the girls weren't having enough trouble with their powers starting to get out of control, they learn that the Oracle has placed Cedric back in Heatherfield for rehabilitation and has asked them to keep an eye on him, all while they deal with school, boys and the tale of the Book of Elements! Gnone keeps the mystery growing with another fun and heartfelt entry in this exciting series. Can W.I.T.C.H find a way to balance their pwoers and problems in time to figure out how to handle Cedric?
