Hunk meets formidable enemy “Centaurus”. He is immortal, also he is a master archer. Finally, he was killed by poison, however Cain appear again with cruel slaughter .

This one volume dealt with one particular Incarnate, but I wasn’t disappointed. There was an overarching theme of what it means to be useful and how one drive themselves mad trying to be useful. I like how this theme wasn’t aimed purely at Centarus and Hank, but applied to Claude, Colonel Wall, and even Schaal. It was a nice touch and I think it added more to this part of the story. The artwork was incredible as usual, but it really stood out in certain scenes, especially with Centarus. Another great volume in this series, kudos to you, Maybe.

Centaurus was an interesting character and I do like that show both sides of what a centaur is. As in Greek myths Centaurs were great warriors but also teachers and healers. I also like how the story is starting to play around the idea of what people will do to achieve any kind of victory even if it means stooping to very gross strategies and weapons. Using the character of Col. Wall representing this type of person during a war.

Part man, part horse, and all trouble

With the enemy incarnate Centaurus preventing the army from claiming the town of Brave Creek it is good Hank and Coup de Grâce are around to put their incarnate hunting prowess to the test. Of course having to fight a large man with equine parts is not easy but soon it turns out the leader of the Incarnate rebellion is soon to arrive on the scene as well making sure the body count is going to grow even more.

This is the first actual battle we've seen, and it's as horrific as it should be, actually. We're introduced to Centaurus, who really is psychotic. His bloodlust is definitely the worst so far. And now there is a biological weapong made from an Incarnate, which is truly horrifying. The plot thickens.

This might be the first volume that felt special. It really focused on just one incarnate, that being Centaurus, and damn if he ain't one twisted beast, who was warped from the whole do no harm motive. Great battle tactics as well, and a downright graphic ending for some. NGL I was wincing.
