Pretty Stolen Dolls - Ellopott babácskák

Rate this book
Hiába ígér a másik baba szépeket,
Benny szíve megtört, szeméből könny csorog,
hasztalan küzd, hisz nem férfias dolog.
Kedvence az övé, vissza kell kapnia
vagy a másiknak meg kell lakolnia.

Dark, Twisted and Suspenseful. I loved every minute! Prepare to have your mind f#@ked. This is just the type of sick and twisted story that I love.

Like most of my favorite stories, this one is not for everyone. It deals with child abuse (mental, physical and sexual), abduction and a deranged serial killer. Don't say you weren't forewarned.

If you love stories that blow past your boundaries and keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, this is a fantastic choice. I think I had the chills for most of this book. There was a definite creepy, ominous vibe that was pervasive with this story.

Jade, our heroine, was kidnapped at the age of fourteen, along with her younger sister. After years of captivity, she is able to escape. Unfortunately, she isn't able to take her sister with her, a fact that haunts her for years to come.

Now a detective, Jade has dedicated her career to tracking down Benny, the man that took them years ago. Details from her latest cases are eerily familiar. Benny has returned...and he wants to reclaim his favorite, dirty little doll.

From start to finish, I was engrossed in this story. Jade revealed bits of her past through flashbacks, slowly providing readers a complete picture of her years as a captive. It was so disturbing, yet completely addicting to hear her story.

This is the first book in a series, so don't expect to have all of your questions answered. This one ends with a major cliffhanger. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, as this book needs to be experienced. If you like edgy, dark, suspenseful reads, this is the book for you. I cannot wait for the next book!

This reminded of a Criminal Minds episode I saw on TV once. The killer "collected" women and made them into living porcelain dolls.

Edited to add: Look, I found pictures of the episode lol

Anycray, maybe that took some of the shock factor away from me on this.

Maybe I've just read too much dark romance that this just wasn't all that shocking to me.
Or maybe I'm just dead inside lol I don't know.

Well, dayum! What a thrilling story this one turned out to be! Since I’ve read this two authors before I already knew what to expect – something, dark, thrilling and of course crazy, but this first two authors’ collaboration was so fucked-up...in a very good way. 'Pretty Stolen Dolls' was pure and simple fascinating and trust me when I say it will suck you in from the prologue. This first installment in the series has just a little bit of everything for you to be blown away from the start – mystery, suspense, steam and some dark themes that I personally loved. Needless to say, if you are like me, an avid reader of dark books, you will not want to miss this one!

“There’s my dirty little doll. So wild and scared, but still so fucking pretty.”

Jade and her little sister Macy have been always warned by their father that evil exists, that demons are lurking not only in the shadows. When Jade is just fourteen years old, she and her sister meet Benny, a young man who sells dolls. At first Jade wants for Benny to notice her, even if she’s aware of the age difference between them, but everything changes for her and her sister when Benny kidnaps them. They are held captive in Benny’s dark basement being starved and beaten, becoming his living dolls. Jade manages to escape the hell she lived in for so many years when she’s eighteen. Escaping alone, without Macy, Jade wants nothing more than to save her sister.

“This is what I do. I’m like a poison, polluting the people I care about.”

Years later, Jade is a Homicide Detective and despite the fact that she escaped her captor years ago she’s still a prisoner. She’s damaged, for years feeling guilty that she couldn’t save her sister from Benny’s dirty hands since the police couldn’t find where Benny held her. All she wants is to find her sister and make Benny pay for everything. She vows to find Benny no matter what, but what happens when Benny finds her first?

"I'm not a pervert," he chants as he rapes me. I'm dying beneath him. Darkness fogs my eyes and my head spins. "Only you, little doll. I don't need another."

'Pretty Stolen Dolls' was such a crazy ride! It was gripping, dark and gory and I enjoyed every minute of it! I loved the well-developed, complex plot and how the story unfolded. The story was unpredictable from start to finish and told in a such a way that you will be at the edge of your seat almost the entire time.

This first installment in the series was more than a dark read. It was a fantastic blend of mystery and suspense, very graphic at times that totally blew me away. Personally I would have preferred the story to be darker and less suspenseful, but I have to say these two authors did a great job balancing every single one of these aspects.

Benny and his obsession with dolls were very fascinating. His character was creepy and disturbing, but fantastically portrayed. As much as I found him to be sick as f@ck, I have to say I was a little…or more mesmerized by him. Jade was a great heroine. I really sympathize with her and I found her strength and determination to be admirable. She was definitely not the usual damaged heroine and I liked that about her. Dillon was another great character. I really liked him! The way he understood and supported Jade at times were really fantastic and their relationship was awesome.

This first installment ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to find out how the story will progress.

Overall, an intense, creepy, intriguing read!

Fans of K. Webster and Ker Dukey, get ready to have your mind blown by this utterly sinister, gritty, and hauntingly fabulous story!! I was already a huge fan of K. Webster, but now I have another author to add to my favorites list -- Ker Dukey. These two authors are a stellar writing duo!! I went through a gamut of emotions while reading this nail-biting thriller! A word of advice—read this book with the lights on!! I was so freaked out that I had to sleep with a night light on in my bedroom because I was afraid of the monsters who hide in the darkness. If you’re not a fan of gore and rape, especially of underage girls, then this one probably is not for you. BUT, if you crave the dark and downright uncomfortable reads, then Pretty Stolen Dolls is one you’ll want to bump up your TBRs!!

Jade and her little sister Macy have always been taught by their father to be wary of strangers. Evil lives amongst them everywhere. But on one summer day, at a local fair, Jade and Macy fall prey to a handsome stranger who sells pretty dolls. Fourteen-year-old Jade has stars in her eyes when she meets the handsome doll maker, Benny. Her crush has her forgetting the most important warning her father instilled in her over the years – sometimes monsters come out in the light of day.

Benny ends up luring the two sisters in his van by promising to bring them to their home and convincing their parents to buy them both dolls, as the girls didn’t have enough money to pay for them. You’ll have a sick feeling in your stomach because of the fear of what horrors await these two innocent children. Benny is the epitome of a deranged psychopath. He locks the girls up in separate jail cells in his dark and filthy basement. The girls are often starved, beaten, and treated as his very own dress up dolls. For the most part, Benny keeps his hands off of little Macy as she is way underage, but he has a growing obsession for young Jade. For almost three years, he doesn’t sexually assault Jade due to her age. During that time he does abduct a number of young women whom he always ends up raping and killing as they don’t measure up to his standards of beauty. Jade battles between hating Benny and wanting his affections as well. When she turns seventeen Benny no longer can keep his desire for Jade under control. At this point, I am feeling all kinds of disturbed because although I know this is horribly wrong and immoral, I was also feeling a little bit of lust for Benny. Jade also felt confused and tormented over the feelings that Benny was able to induce in her. One day, after being held captive for almost four years, Jade is able to escape, but the guilt over not being able to take her sister with her will consume Jade for years to come.

 photo TEASER THREE_zpshqjuptad.jpg

Fast forward several years and Jade is now a Homicide Detective, and still trying to find leads as to where Benny’s hideout could be. The police department was never able to determine where Jade and Macy had been held prisoner and it’s become beyond an obsession for Jade to rescue her little sister. Jade lives with her boyfriend Bo, who was the “boy next door”, during her childhood years. Their relationship is stable, and maybe a bit dull. She cares for Bo but there is no passion in that relationship. There is one man who infuriates Jade but also ignites a burning desire within her that she never thought she’d ever feel – Dillon Scott, her partner.

Dillon is gruff & snarky and goads Jade every chance he gets but something changes in the dynamic of their relationship when they both are working on a case that may lead them to Benny. The sparks are flying and I guarantee that panties are going to be melting when we get to the steamy scenes between our Heroine and her new man. I was then asking myself - ”Benny, who?!!”.

 photo TEASER SIX_zpsbrig9zhp.jpg

During the latter part of the story, the action and suspense kick into overdrive. For years there has been no trace of Benny and Macy, but recently strange clues are presenting themselves to Jade and young women are ending up dead. Things are starting to reel out of control for Jade and she’s unable to control the crippling flashbacks from her time in captivity. Will she be able to save her sister, destroy Benny, and put an end to the nightmare she’s been living or has the nightmare only just begun??!!!!

This book ends on an enormous cliffy and I won’t be able to rest until I can get my hands on Pretty Lost Dolls!!!!

O-M-G...This book was AMAZEDOLLS. <-- See what I did there?? K. Webster I was familiar with, but I don't *think* I have ever read anything by Ker Dukey. That is going to change REALLY soon. Together these authors simply BLEW MY MIND.

Benny loves his pretty little dolls. Dressing them up. Playing with them. Defiling them. That is as long as they do exactly what he says. One day his favorite dirty doll escapes from Benny leaving him heartbroken.

It's time for Benny to bring his Dirty Doll home where she belongs...

description

Where do I even begin?? I LOVED every twisted and f@cked up moment of this book. Benny was DELICIOUS in his madness. The plot will grab you from page one and take you on a mindf@ck of suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Jade was an amazing heroine. Strong and resilient. I felt her obsession with finding her sister, and her need for vengeance. And Dillion, oh man, this guy, just SO perfect for Jade and HOT. Those two were the perfect team.

This one certainly isn't for the faint of heart, but if you love a good dark, twisted romance then this should definitely be on your TO READ list. I don't have enough thumbs to express how awesome this book was.

Gripping, gritty, gory, and full of suspense, Pretty Stolen Dolls is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat! Not all monsters dwell in the dark. Some of them hide in plain sight disguised as a good Samaritain. Fourteen year old Jade and her sister, Macy, learn that the hard way when they are abducted by a devilishly handsome man at their local flea market.

Benny is a deranged dollmaker that is hell bent on making the sisters his perfect little dolls. While he dresses Macy in doll-like clothes and does her hair and make up, he keeps Jade in a barren cell with barely a stitch of clothes. Eventually, he robs her of even that.

When Jade turns 17, Benny decides he has waited long enough for Jade to become a woman. Claiming not to be a pervert because her body is fully mature, he forcefully takes her virginity. From that day forward, he takes her whenever he wants with or without her consent.

One day, Benny comes into her cell inebriated. She uses this to her advantage and escapes. Jade could think only of alerting the police, going back for her sister, and being reunited with her family. After running for what seemed like miles, she happens upon a road. Frantically, she tries to wave down a vehicle for help. Jade is so excited that she doesn't notice the car isn't going to stop..until it's too late.

Upon waking up in a hospital room, she is questioned by authorities, but is unable to give them enough information to find her sister. Years later, she becomes a detective determined to bring her sister home and take out Benny for good. Despite her best efforts, she is unable to even get close to him. Until one day, when he reaches out to her.

Benny begins abducting and murdering girls left and right to try to lure Jade back to him. He threatens to kill Macy if she doesn't come willingly. Guilt eats away at her with every breath she takes for leaving her sister behind, and she intends to get her back no matter the cost. Benny is always one step ahead of her and the police at every turn. Will saving her sister mean sacrificing herself?

Fantastically dark and deliciously twisted, Pretty Stolen Dolls is not to be missed. The story is intriguing, masterfully written, and keeps you guessing until the very end. If you are fan of thrillers, dark romance, or even horror, I recommend this one to you!

PRETTY STOLEN DOLLS: This kicks starts us off in the 'Prologue' spoken in eighteen year old Jade's own words where she's having flashbacks of what happened that dreadful day when she fell under the spell of a much older boy at the age of fourteen, a feeling of foreboding and tingles raced over my body reading what monster was going to come at the two sisters at a market in disguise of a man hiding his devious intentions.

Two sisters who were sheltered from the world, lived in a safe quiet neighbourhood. BUT as their daddy warned them regularly that didn't mean that monsters weren't lurking in the background.

His warnings went unheeded.

We were stolen from the world.
Four years ago. I let my guard down from one man.
I allowed the curious girl within me to forget the most important message our dad taught us;
Not all monsters hunt in the dark.

Genre: Dark Erotic Suspense
Type: Book 1 of 2
POV: First Person - Female
Rating:

Jade Phillips and her sister were taken by a disturbed man when she was a teenager. After years of enduring the nightmare as Benny/Benjamin's favorite living doll, she managed to escape and vowed to return for her sister. But years gone by and it turned into a cold case until Benny decided he wanted back what belonged to him.

When I see a book that is dark and disturbing, it feels like coming home - that special warm, fuzzy feeling that make me feel like I belong. This book gave me that haha!

This is what I do. I’m like a poison, polluting the people I care about.

Even though now free, Jade was still imprisoned by her nightmare. Benny haunted her every time and everywhere. But, she was not just some scared fragile victim. Her strength and determination was something admirable.

Oh, Benny is the one I love, love, love...
My ultimate favorite type of character is not just the dark, but especially the disturbed. There's just something about their psyche that's so hauntingly beautiful. Benny is a sick fuck for sure. My kind of sick fuck lol!

“You’re my little doll,” he groans against my hair as he thrusts brutally into me.

For me, this book wasn't that dark. It was mostly suspense in between the dark but it does contain triggers. The sex scenes were hot especially the ones with taboo element.

"Such a dirty, dirty doll. Why did you run away from me— from us? I kept her just for you and that was how you showed me your appreciation?”

Pretty Stolen Dolls is a story of obsession and possession between the victim and the captor. The enthralling cat and mouse game is paired with a good balance of darkness and suspense.

Note 1:
That creepy rhyme is now stuck in my head, head, head… haha!

Note 2:
If I'm going to dress up for Halloween, I know what I'd be - Benny's dirty little doll :p

Okay so I am going to be honest, I have been disappointed by some of K Websters books in the past so I really did not hold high hopes for this one. I have not read any of Ker Dukeys books so had no reference there. I read the blurb for this book at the end of another book and was intrigued enough to give it a go.

I am so glad I did. From the very beginning you are dragged down into the depths of darkness that becomes Jades world.

 photo falldarkness_zpsaevwnxo6.gif

The story starts with Jade 14 and her sister Macy 8 getting kidnapped from a flea market by what I would call a wolf in sheeps clothing. I mean these two authors came up with a real psychopath for the monster in this book who does some real sick shit. I have to warn people that this book contains all sorts of triggers DO NOT read this book if you have a problem with dark content.

Thats as much of the story line I can write without giving away to much. I can say that the characters are great and well thought out, Jade is a strong heroine who is very broken but I love her give no shit attitude.

This reads like a mystery/thriller its full of suspense, twists and the sex scenes between the H and h are HOT. I fell deeply for the H in this one
I am a childcare worker and I may have to wipe Miss Polly Had a Dolly from the song list for awhile after this book.

I loved this book!!! Although, I am very sad to say that there is a doozy of a cliffy; but even with that...I am so glad to have cracked this open. I don't want to say much about what goes on because believe me, you wan't to read this one and experience the suspence and twists without being prepared for them! This book is DARK, TWISTED, and absolutely GRUESOME at times....LOL I loved every minute of it though!! I can't wait for the next book...I want it now!!!

From what I understand about the story, is that it is told by two authors...Ker Dukey, and a K. Webster. I have read Ker Dukey's work before; but this is the first time I have read K. Websters...I can guarantee that I will be checking out her backlist and finding out what she offers in her other stories. I was blown away with their work with this one, and it is getting harder for me to be wowed!

In "Pretty Stolen Dolls" two sisters are taken by a physcho named Benny...and holy hell, this guy is CRAZY!!! The stuff that he does, and what goes on is something that I just couldn't have thought up on my own...YIKES...it was awful...BUT, I was glued to the pages, and devoured them like I couldn't get enough. If you are a lover of dark themed books, then I highly suggest you give this one a go...I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

Thank you so much Steph for being my Buddy through this story!!! I was glad that we could hold hands through all the torment and torture that was going on!!!

"This will all be over soon."
description

Pretty Stolen Dolls is the first book in the Pretty Stolen Dolls Series. It is also my first Ker Dukey and K. Webster read, and it certainly will not be my last as it left quite an impression. With a dark and twisted plot, broken characters, and intense subject matter Pretty Stolen Dolls is one psychological thriller you do not want to miss!

description
"He loves to hurt me."
description
"He drives into me powerfully-reminding me once again he's a man and I'm just his doll."
Jade has been broken. Her innocence stolen and beaten out of her with every last breath. When it seems that she may have escaped her torment, her past comes flooding back like a tsunami. Is she strong enough to pick up all the broken pieces?

Overcoming her past, Jade, now a detective is on the hunt for her captor. The dark and dangerous Benny will not stop until his "dirty little doll" is back by his side.

description
"I may not be in that cell anymore, but Benny is every bit still my master."
Told in mostly Jade's POV, Pretty Stolen Dolls is a dark thriller full of action, intrigue, and explosive passion. Although Jade is the center of the plot, all of the characters are integral to the transformation and growth of the story. Lines are blurred as right, wrong, and completely twisted blend in an orchestra of chaos and pain. This is perhaps the vaguest I have ever been when it comes to writing a review, but the truth is I just don't want to ruin this story for anyone. Benny is someone you must get to know all on your own. The pain is real. The healing is raw and beautiful. The heartbreak is one that I will never forget.

description

Pretty Stolen Dolls is certainly a must read for dark romance fans. Be forewarned the subject matter is intense and not for the faint of heart. The thrill of the plot is equivalent to that of a blockbuster movie. The stakes are high for the characters as each of them fight to survive. Pretty Stolen Dolls certainly ends on a huge cliffhanger so make sure you have Pretty Lost Dolls ready on your Kindle! You will not be able to stop until you have devoured every single dark and delicious word!

Overall Opinion: I went into this after being inspired by a GR friend doing the same thing to try to get myself out of a book funk. I'm hoping it will, as I am anxious to continue on this freaky journey to find out what happens! It's definitely not for the faint of heart, because it definitely has graphic violence and some pretty sick stuff. The romance takes a backseat to the suspense, which I normally hate -- but I'm so sucked into finding out how it'll end that I don't even care tbh! On to the next and hopefully I'll find out why everyone went from this book to loving Benny in the next...because as of now I can't think of any reason as to why someone would...🤔

Brief Summary of the Storyline: I'm going to keep this vague because I don't want to ruin it. This is Jade's story. She was abducted along with her sister, Macy, when they were young girls. Jade ends up escaping after 4 years with the psycho, Benny, who had an obsession with making her and her sister his little dolls. The story starts after she has become a police detective and is obsessed with finding her sister. Benny decides that enough is enough and he wants his "dirty little doll" back, and he starts leaving her clues as to how to find him. Jade works with her partner to try to solve cases and get closer to Benny, but he always seems to be one step ahead...

POV: This was mainly told in Jade's POV (with a few other POVs close to the end)

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed, and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: Kind of, but it's an extreme situation that I would understand if feelings develop quicker.

Pretty Stolen Dolls completely captivated me, me, me.
Sucked me right in and made me read, read, read.
The story was dark and disturbing, yes it was, was, was.
These authors deserve an applause, 'plause, 'plause.

Jade was the true hero, I don't kid, kid, kid.
I loved her as much as crazy-Benny did, did, did.
His craziness twisted her mind, mind, mind.
And she had to leave her sister behind, 'hind, 'hind.

I can't wait find out, out, out.
What the next one will be about, 'bout, 'bout.

I read reviews beforehand, I knew this was dark, I read that it was horrid. I definitely knew I was going into something dirty. I'm sitting here thinking, Pretty Stolen Dolls was named completely wrong, it should have been Dirty Little Doll. Was there anything pretty about this book???
This book, It's the writing. These amazing authors captivate you, suck you into such a dark read And I'm so disgustedly in love with it there is absolutely no way I'm going to stop reading this crazy as shit book. Bring on the sequel cause right now I'm numb. I need revenge for Jade, I need my HEA for Dillon. I need redemption for Macy & Jade but mostly I need closure for this f*ck*ng brilliant ass book. And lastly I need Benny to be buried 6 feet under...... or better yet I have better ideas for that sick bastard. if you haven't read this, and you like a dark read, don't pass this up, put your big girl, or boy, pants on and READ this!!!!!

What did I just read??? And am I fcked because I enjoyed the hell out of it??? This was darkness at its finest. It was raw, dirty, scary, twisted, gross, suspenseful, and fcking AWESOME!! I loved every spine-tingling second of this story!!

Jade and her little sister, Macy, have been warned by their father that monsters exist and that they don't wait until nightfall to come out. He raised them to be careful and aware. One day the two sisters go to a flea market and Macy is drawn to a booth selling dolls run by a man named Benny. Both of them are aware of his attractiveness and his easygoing charm quickly puts them at ease. With the promise of new dolls and a ride home, the girls get into his van. And that's when Jade's nightmare began.

Eight years later, Jade is a police detective. She escaped Benny four years ago and has been determined ever since to rescue her sister from his clutches. A missing girl, a dead woman, and enough clues to lead a blind man, Jade realizes that Benny's back and he won't stop until he has her again. With the help of her partner, Dillon, it's a race to stop Benny before he can succeed.

Honestly, this book was freaking epic. It had the right amounts of depravity, mindfckery, descriptive torture, mystery, suspense, and sexy times. It ends on a huge cliffy and the story continues in Pretty Lost Dolls, which goes live November 28, 2016.

Review @ Midnight Romance

Ker Dukey feat K Webster? What an insane duet. You should read how dark and deprived their works. And what's all the hype about this book? Well, I warned you this isn't gonna be pretty.

description
We lived on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood in a quiet town, but that didn’t mean the monsters of the world weren’t always lurking.
They’re everywhere, he said, not just in the shadows.
...not all monsters hunt in the dark.

✔ Once upon a time, there lived two naïve little girls lives in a safe place by their parents. The oldest, Jade Phillips is old enough to be careful around strangers and the other one, Macy is a brat who wants a pretty little doll. Instead going home, they were stolen by a charming monster named Benny.

✔ Eight years later, Jade fulfilled her dream to became a homicide detective to track down her captor, Benny. She managed to escape but left her little sister, Macy. Jade promised to herself to save her until this day. She still couldn't forget the scars from her captor. I just simply amazed with her strength and determination. Jade is a survivor.

✔ Four years of nightmare didn't erase what happened with her. Sometimes Jade went through meltdown. But I was glad her partner, Dillon fully supported her more than just a friend. Jade found her attraction to Dillon. It started with lust and they're so hot for each other. Jade is a hard-ass woman and need someone like Dillon to be her rocks. Dillon vowed to help Jade until the end. One of my issue is, how hard to feel their chemistry. As a friend? Yes, but not enough to become a lover at the moment.
Dillon finds a way to show me with his body that I’m not alone. That I’ll never have to be alone again.
“My beautiful, broken girl,” he murmurs against my mouth as he slides in and out of me in a torturous manner. “All of your pieces are mine to hold. Each shard is mine to willingly slice myself on. You’re worth the pain. In fact, I want to embrace that pain if it means, even for one second, I can take some of that pain from you.”

✔ It was very disturbing and brutal how Jade revealed all of her years in captivity as Benny's doll through the flashbacks. Benny is a sadistic monster. It's still unknown what's his motive or he just simply psychopath to fulfill his twisted needs? He also didn't hesitate to kill the person he kidnapped. Another issue for me is Benny's obsession towards Jade that isn't enough to convince me. Benny wants his lost doll back.

description

✔ The story told from Jade's POV which is terrifying and engaging. I couldn't put this down until the end. This duet author succeed to made a very dark story. The plot was amazing and flowed nicely. The ending surprised me and unpredictable. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Benny had a dolly that he took, took, took.
Her name is Jade, she was fook, fook, fooked.
He held her in a cell for many years, years, years.
She lived with fear and the tears, tears, tears.

She escaped from his clutches, she was quick, quick, quick.
With Benny on her tail cos he is sick, sick, sick.

But she escaped him, she was free, free, free.
But Benny would never let it be, be, be.

I sat and I read every page, page, page.
I felt the emotion and the rage, rage, rage.
It scared the shit out of me, but couldn't stop, stop, stop.
I devoured every word, every drop, drop, drop.

I couldn't put it down till I finished, finished, finished.
And had to write this down before it diminished, diminished, diminished.
From my ordinary life this book stole, stole, stole.
And I can't fricken wait for Pretty Lost Dolls Dolls Dolls.

Jade and Macy Phillips were taught to be cautious around strangers but one day they visited the local flea market and were tempted by a handsome man offering a deal on a beautiful doll. Being the older sister, Jade, tried to protect them from danger but it was too late before she realized monsters exist out in the open. After four years of being Benny’s pretty little doll, Jade sees an opportunity to escape and runs to freedom.

“Erasing that will never be possible unless it’s with the scent of his own blood as he gurgles his last breath.”

Now in her 20’s, Jade is a police detective intent on revenge against Benny. Leaving Macy was the hardest decision she ever had to make, but her only hope now is to locate Macy and save what remains of her sister. The latest missing girl and murder case has Jade on full alert and when certain coincidences begin to occur, she is positive Benny is looking for a new doll.

“I may not be in that cell anymore, but Benny is every bit still my master.”

As Jade further investigates, memories are triggered causing her to reconcile the past with her present. But while it all seems to be spinning out of control, for the first time, Jade has someone that will fight with her and having such security is a completely new concept for her, but will she get what she always wanted.

“The connection between us as he grinds into me is electric. It burns and sizzles in the atmosphere around us, cocooning us in this sexually charged bubble no one can touch. We’re safe in here and the world isn’t a horrible place because in this moment, nothing and no one but the two of us exist.”

Pretty Stolen Dolls is a dark thriller at its best. Written in first person POV alternating between the past and present, Jade’s life unfolds giving the reader the innocent and tainted moments. Knowing Benny is at large provides such ominous foreboding because he doesn’t see boundaries and he will stop at nothing reclaim Jade. But, Jade is brave and resolute about seeking justice.

Jade is a character I instantly liked and admired. She is stubborn, strong and sarcastic and it’s those qualities that enabled her to escape Benny’s prison. Having someone like Dillon in her life adds complimentary dimension to her already complex character. With Benny, he is a true villain with his own issues but his role as a predator is deviously plotted to precision. To manipulate and orchestrate people is one of his greatest strengths, yet he eerily uses such skills for evil.

In this collaborative book with Ker Dukey and K. Webster, the prose flowed seamlessly and the plot was provocatively rich with thriller elements such as tension, intimacy, empathy and fear. To say this plot is tightly woven is an understatement because Wow! When I finished this book, I was so excited because the authors successfully took me on a dark and thrilling journey to the very last word. I loved it!

Without saying more, this is a book you have to experience. I highly recommend Pretty Stolen Dolls!!

Ker Dukey and K. Webster teamed together to deliver one amazing, thrilling and psychologically suspenseful dark and crazy book. Way to go ladies, you hooked me!!! Pretty Stolen Dolls has something for everyone who enjoys this type of genre. I found the writing excellent, the plot well thought out and the characters thoroughly engaging. The story goes back and forth from past to present and I never once got lost or confused. I couldn't tell which author wrote what part of the book. The book was dark, but not too dark and every twist and turn kept me guessing and wondering what would happen next.

Jade and her sister Macy are young when they first meet Benny, a Doll Collector at a flea market. They were already warned by their father to watch out for Monsters, but the lure of a beautiful doll is just too tempting for Macy.

It doesn't take Benny long to play on the innocence of Jade and Macy and they are both abducted and held hostage in Benny's cellar. Jade soon becomes Benny's preferred plaything.

"I’m coming for you, pretty little doll. A shudder passes through me and I swallow down my terror."
After years of being held hostage Benny make one mistake and Jade gets away leaving her beloved sister behind.

"“STOP!” he roars as he clambers to his feet. But I don’t stop. I run for my life. I run for both our lives. If I can get the heck out of this hellhole, I can find help. I can save my sister."
Years later Jade becomes a Detective, her sole reason being to find Macy and bring her home. Jade's partner, Dillon becomes a love interest of Jade's and together they seek revenge against Benny and a common goal to bring Macy back. Benny resurfaces and the hunt is on.
Who will find who first???

"Dark, haunting pits of hell look in at me. And the ice-cold voice that could freeze the sun fills my ears from the little bars separating us. “Welcome home, dirty little doll.”

I anxiously await book two!!

WTH.

Could someone PLEASE explain to me, why this thing gets such a high rating average? Because I really don't get it.

First off, the prose needs to be killed with a flamethrower. It is an unreadable, breathy and enervatingly pretentious teenage word vomit in present tense narrated by someone who's got verbal diarrhea. If this is meant to show off how a kidnapped, tortured girl with PTSD thinks after a few years being incarcerated by a sociopathic loon, then the author failed from here to the moon and back.

I suggest instead reading accounts written by e.g. Natascha Kampusch for enlightenment about actual kidnappings and incarcerations. There's a world of difference, one that is corroborrated by other victims of similar kidnappings. Hardly ever do you get a breathy, scatterbrained teenager who sounds as if she jumped straight out of bad fanfiction. Reading such accounts is called research, by the way. Many authors do that.

That wouldn't be half as bad as the lack of proper characterisation and correct human psychology. The girl is kidnapped aged fourteen, yet thinks and behaves like a toddler. A mentally challenged toddler, and this well before she is kidnapped. The harebrained scheme of two girls well past toddler-age falling for a guy promising them a doll of all things, is so idiotic it left me thoroughly stumped.

And then, just like snapping your fingers, the very same girl turns within a couple of years into a streetwise smartaleckish kick-arse heroine straight out of some action movie. Yeah. Right. May I point out once again the accounts of Kampusch and her peers? And how such children actually turn out to be?

Lastly, as with most such books lately written, there is practically zero emotional exposition and characterisation. The author apparently expects the reader to empathise along with a naked skeleton of horrific facts or deeds, all on her own. Again, this to me is sign of a writing style that emerged with fanfiction - where the existing fandom provides the context for reader emotions through their knowledge of the fandom. And this is precisely the kind of lazy writing fanfiction induces unfortunately in some writers.

However, I am not here to write the story, to fill out the particulars of the psychology for the author. I pay money so the author does it for me, and takes me along on the ride.

Seriously, I do not get the ratings. In fact, lately high ratings engender a dread in me, because too often now they point towards such incomplete, childish snippets as this here. Tant pis. The idea per se had potential.

5 Dirty Little Doll Stars

Genre: Dark Romantic Suspense
Type: Book 1 of 2
POV: First Person - Female

Wowza this book....shitttt no words. This book has exactly everything I look for in a book and more. Fast pace, suspenseful, full of twists and lots of hotness...What's not to love?? I loved everything about this twisted, rollercoaster ride obviously. The author leaves you wanting more of this sick twisted ride.

We get a badass heroine that survived a horrific and traumatic torture. However her escape was just the beginning. She hunted this monster but little did she know that he wants her back and won't stop at anything till he gets her back.

So much blood is spilled in the process, so many twists but in the midst of this craziness she finds a lover that not only wants to be with her but will do anything to help her get her revenge.

Lovers of dark suspense will find this book appealing. This book is not just for everyone; if you are looking for a dark romantic suspense look no more because this book delivers.
