This series of short, "silent films" failed to charm me. There's none of the warmth, and nostalgia one associates with this author. I'm sorry, but his books work best when accompanied by an actual story.

Classic Tomie dePaola! This looks like it is right out of the 70s with its use of only pinks, browns and blacks. Despise its signs of age, it's a delightful wordless picture book that can be used to model (teach) how to read the pictures to students.

This was a cute little book by Tomie dePaola, who I love. I was going to take a picture of the cover at the library, and now I'm regretting it, as I can't find a cover picture online to add... but oh well.

Anyway, the book is in comic book format. It has 5 little "silent movies" (no words): A kid trying to lose a tooth to earn some money from the tooth fairy, a girl who can't seem to blow out the candles on her birthday cake, a girl who has new roller skates and keeps falling down, a little boy gathering up things he needs for a new baby, and a boy trying to get ready for bed. Very cute.
