About the author

Cecily von Ziegesar is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Gossip Girl novels, upon which the hit television show is based.

Cecily von Ziegesar was born in New York City. Her childhood dream was to grow up to be a ballerina; she began lessons at age 3 and auditioned for the School of American Ballet at age 8, but was rejected.

As a teenager, von Ziegesar commuted to Manhattan at 6 a.m. to attend the Nightingale-Bamford School. After graduating from Nightingale, von Ziegesar attended Colby College before spending a year in Budapest working for a local radio station.

Von Ziegesar returned to the United States to study creative writing at the University of Arizona, but dropped out shortly thereafter.

Back in New York, while working at book-packaging firm Alloy Entertainment, von Ziegesar became inspired to create the Gossip Girl series, which follows the lives of privileged teenagers in New York. The series climbed to the top of The New York Times best-sellers list in 2002. A spin-off series, The It Girl, made the list in 2005.

The Constance Billard School for Girls in Gossip Girl is based upon an exaggerated version of von Ziegesar's alma mater, Nightingale. She also culled events from the book from the lives of her extremely wealthy friends, as well as her own life as a perpetual gossip.

She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her family.

More love triangles and one burnt down barn.

At a special off-campus party hosted by Tinsley, Callie sneaks behind Jenny's back as Jenny sneaks off with Julian. Much to Callie's delight, Easy proclaims his love for her and they sleep together in a barn while the party rages on. Jenny walks in on them and realizes what's going on, running out of the barn before they see her and finding Julian behind it. Unfortunately, this was cut short by a fire, started by Tinsley when she sees them, throwing Julian's lighter behind her and running off before she saw where it landed. Suddenly, when the group returns to Waverly, rumors are flying about who actually started the fire. When Jenny confronts Callie about what she saw, they both accuse each other of starting the fire.Dean Marymount finds out about the fire in the barn and is planning to expel whoever was responsible. Tinsley and Callie seize this chance to frame Jenny and get rid of her once and for all.

I can connect to Jenny because she was being framed for something she didn't even do. This has happened to me to like I get blamed for things that I did not even do so I can really relate to Jenny in this situation.

I gave this book 5 stars because of the suspense and I loved the drama in this book! It was soooo entertaining and fun to read. I LITERALLY couldn't put the book down!

In dit boek kijken we verder in het leven van Jenny, die we al kennen van de gossip girl serie.
Ze studeert op Waverly, heeft een leuk vriendje Easy. En een kamergenoot die de ex is van het vriendje.

Langzaam ontwikkelt het verhaal zich en gaan Jenny en Easy uit elkaar, komt ze een hoop andere leuke jongens tegen en lopen er wat feestjes in de soep.
Net als de gossip girl serie: Er gebeurt eigenlijk niets en toch wil je wel doorlezen. Ondanks dat het deel 4 van de serie is zijn ze los te lezen. Het is soms een beetje lastig met de namen, maar goed e doen.

Het enige vervelende is en dat komt door het drukken of het vertalen, er staan soms letters tussen die er niet horen. Je kunt er goed doorheen lezen, maar het hoort natuurlijk niet

Tinsley is really getting on my last nerve. You can't be mad at someone for making out with your secret "boyfriend". And you certainly can't try to set them on fire. I like Brett and Kara together, hope it lasts but since I'm not even halfway through the series, I doubt it.

Callie and Jenny are still fighting over Easy. But will a pact that they make to leave him for good, so that they can be friends, stop Easy from being in love with Callie? And don't be naive, people!

Tinsley is head over heels for a freshman!!!! But will he return her feelings, or will he go for someone we actually like? Hmmmm....

Kara and Brett decide to start WOW! - Women of Waverly - to have some bonding time. What crazy stunt will take place during the first meeting? Or is it more than a stunt?

So many questions, and only 248 pages to answer them! A great, fun, fast read for any lover of the GOSSIP GIRL series!

As i suspected, this was the best book. Easy finally came clean with Jenny and they are over and he was able to move on to Callie again. Tinsley developed feelings for a freshman and did know what to do. She eventually let her emotions get involved and got hurt but it was her fault. Tinsley's true colors came out when she was going to plot to let Jenny and Julian take the fall for the barn catching on fire at an off campus event. Brett is developing feelings of her new friend Kara and falls apart when people find out. With all the secret keeping, everything was bound to come out and create a mess which made for a the best book in the series.

I think that Cecily Von Ziegesar proves that gossip is not just a harmless game in this sequel of the series. Gossip hurts all of the characters in this book: Jenny gets hurt by rumors she hears of Callie (who promised her that they were friends)and Easy, Brett and Kara are betrayed by Callie, and of course, Tinsley betrays all! Astounding endings, one huge fight, exclusive clubs, and fake friendships are all included in this book.

I really like this book, but i'm getting pretty annoyed with Jenny. I don't like her at all anymore. Well, it's not the best book I've read, but it's pretty good. I really like Callie in this book, I also like that she and Jenny becomes friends. I don't really like Brett in this book either, but I liked the idea of her and Heath together, even if that doesn't really happen. The writing is good, and the book too.

tinsley is such a jerk. the more and more i read about her the more i dislike her. thats whats got me hooked on them though, i want to read that jenny put tinsley in her place. thats all that girl needs. a good kick in the butt.

All together not a bad little book. I liked the ending of the book and how it will pretty much lead right into the next one. I also liked how the book challenged some topics such as sexuality and while normally teen novels would shy away from these topics this one discussed it.

Did not love it as much as the previous, but was glad to see Callie and Easy back together. Even happier to see Jenny moving on, with Tinsley's man (boy) no less.

I was actually enjoying the Kara, Brett, Heath bonding we got. Heath was actually tolerable, and not just some horny teenager. I hope K & B work it out, buuuut Brett seems to be more ashamed/embarrassed than Kara so I feel like that will cause some rifts.

I hope Tinsley stops with the pettiness, but now that she has her sidekick back, I seriously doubt that.

The next installment should definitely be very drama filled and driven given the burnt down barn.

Rereading my favorite series from middle/high school for the guilty pleasure nostalgia.

We have another banger here. I don't have much to say that I haven't already said over and over about the previous books. The usual drama and secrets and lies are all present and accounted for, no worries there. We have some fresh new relationships building (and some even crashing and burning). The power dynamics of the "elite" are changing; the book leaned more towards Team Brett/Jenny instead of the usual Callie/Tinsley Hierarchy. Plus, I am always and forever a Heath fan, and Heath shines in this book.

I am gonna keep my expectations on the floor as far as Brett's storyline goes. Jenny keeps being my favourite because of how uncomplicated she is. Callie is a genuinely awful selfish person, and she has been since the beginning. She sees Easy as more of an accessory than a guy. Even Tinsley seems tamer and less psychopathic in comparison. Which is no small feat considering the shit she pulled with Dalton and Brett in Book 2. But in this one, she seemed almost human. Brandon is such a non entity. I don't know why we even need his POV. And as before, the couples keep switching around

Living for the gay plot line. I think I skipped this one as a teen otherwise I def would’ve realized some shit much earlier
