Be careful what you wish for…because magic comes with a price.I’m a witch. All of my dreams finally came true. But now, so are my nightmares.
There’s a new monster in town and no one knows how to kill it or where it came from. It lurks in the shadows, preying on our every move. For some reason, it seems to be targeting me.
I desperately need Tennessee’s help. Only he is strong enough to train me. My magic is too wild and unpredictable to fight this demon by myself. But my feelings for Tennessee are strictly forbidden by Coven law, just being caught alone together could cost us everything.
When one of our own goes missing we embark on our most dangerous quest yet…to save our friend before it’s too late. If we fail now, the gate into Hell will be opened and the demons will win…
Featuring a kickass heroine, forbidden love, and magic you’ll wish was real, fans of The Mortal Instruments, Twilight, or Harry Potter will love Chandelle LaVaun’s brand new urban fantasy series!
Pick up The Brave Witch and unlock the magic today!
There was so much emotion in this book!! Loved seeing the progression of Tegan’s relationships - with both Tennessee and her family. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store!
Ahhhhh! I was smiling so much while reading this. Things were super stressful too! Teagan and Tenn are unstoppable together. Alos Libby🥺. The shit with Henley (smh)

I liked this more because I felt like things were actually happening.
Its annoying how she finds out drips of information and its sort of taking away from the story. I'm also not so keen on the differing POVs every other chapter. Its nice to know what he is thinking but if I miss the name changing because Tegan and Tenn are extremely similar and so they make me think its still her or still him if I'm reading very fast (which I was cause it was interesting)
A spellbinding book, magical and emotional, and full of adventure. Tegan is still fairly new to her magic and all the witchy world, getting accustomed to being a Card and a relevant part of the Coven. She struggles for control and her magic is still untamed, but the potential of what she can achieve is almost limitless. Powerful and brave, she gives everything she has to succeed in the quest the Coven is tasked with. However, many secrets surround her, many lies taint her life, and even the smallest mistake might have grave consequences.. and who to trust, when you discover the closest people to you were lying to your face? I absolutely loved this book, and finished it within several hours, holding my breath and gripping my phone tightly. I so wanted to continue immediately.. not possible, I know, I also needed to sleep. But, wow, I cannot express myself even, that much I enjoyed it. With the magical world building, it reminded me a little of the Mortal Instruments series, and although that series belongs to my all-time favorites and it's hard to beat the position, this series is getting close. Fast paced, full of action, drama, and tension, the adventurous plot developed rapidly, with many twists and turns, and surprising moments. The changing POV also added to the accelerated tension, seeing the things from both Tegan and Tenn's side only made me more on the edge, considering I already knew something Tegan did not, and could only wondering how deep her reaction would be.. Alas, the relationship of these two. So wrecked. So screwed up. So forbidden. And so hopelessly romantic. When they finally come together one day, I will cry big joyous tears and clap my hands, probably still holding the e-reader. I love them both equally. They are amazing characters, strong individuals and complex personalities, filled to the smallest details, and growing up so much in such a short time. No mistakes, the other characters are awesome, too, just the focus is drawn to the couple a bit more than to the others. Breathtaking magic scenes, raw emotions, and almost impossible situations, that all will make the reader addicted to this series. Just like it did to me.
It's much better than book 1. The last chapter threw me off because of the POV, but it made sense in the end. This series is growing on me, and I can't wait to continue.
My only complaint is that I still want more about the interworkings of the Coven.
the Brave Witch is book 2 of the Elemental Magic series. This book was a million times better than book 1. The drama kicked up tenfold, and there was more plot development.
I'm looking forward to book 3. The main character is sassy.

I just…HATE the soulmate trope. It’s stupid. Especially when they can’t be together for some unknown reason..just because. And it’s an excuse for them to just makeout No matter where they are ‘because they can’t help themselves’ even when they are literally in the middle of a life or death situation.
And just because this has witchcraft does not mean fans of Harry Potter will enjoy it. This story and the writing is so far below that of HP that it’s a crime to compare the two
I have no idea how this averages 4.42 stars when the writing and overall character development is just...meh
Tennessee and Tegan have very strong feelings for each other but it is prohibited by the coven. There’s a new monster in town and no one knows how to kill it so Tegan gets Tennessee to help her. Then a witch goes missing and it’s up to the both of them to try to get her back or there will be hell to pay and that’s literally. I loved this story and even though I’ve only read a couple of her books this is the best one so far. Chandelle is one of the writers that will get all hits with her books, she has such a great imagination and it shows in her books and definitely this one too. I had read the Lost Witch and that was an amazing book but this ones even better. This book has plenty of action, adventure, demons, twists and turns and of course magic so there’s lots to keep you entertained and turning the pages. I highly recommend this book I loved it and I know you will too and it most definitely deserves more than 5 ⭐️.
Wow... How much kissing is too much kissing? Well, this book has definitely way too much "forbidden" kissing going on. I truly dislike Insta-love, but I rolled with it because the idea of a coven consisting of major arca cards was nice. But damn... It's just too stupid. Tennessee and Tegan can't function properly around each other and turn into horny rabbits every damn time they interact. If he decided to go with the "we are not allowed to date" - rule, stick with it, don't break your word every time Tegan looks your way. Tegan is constantly confused by Tennessee's behaviour, which is understandable but at the same time she, too, knows about the rule and still asks every time Tennessee breaks off their intimacy why he does so... Aaarrrgh. I'm probably just too old for this. I don't think of it as romantic or playful or even as building up tension... It's simply annoying.
I've started book 3. That said, I'm still not sure about this series. Some of the emotions -- feel forced. Then again, part of the problem is that this was sold to me as the next 'Harry Potter' and I expect big things when told that reference. So far -- it's no 'Harry Potter.'
Absolutely loved it! Book 2 in this series provides more intense action and quest adventures that highlight the spiritual and mystical Gifts of the Coven. Like Book 1, it was packed with so much intensity, I had to read it over two day period so I was not overwhelmed. The romance aspect to the story is heating up and it was exciting to see characters discover, develop and explore their paranormal gifts. This story involves uncovering of secrets and there is a red flag warning that some events might upset some readers, *Spoiler Ahead* because another key character does not survive, while another goes over to the dark side.
The highlight for me in this book was the Tarot thread. Since I am a Teacher of Tarot I was impressed with how the Tarot Archetypes were interwoven into the characters through their appearance, personality and magical gifts. Highly recommend and am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series...
I received an ARC of this book gifted to me by the author in return for an unbiased review.
FYI - I try not to give out spoilers in my reviews. This just my overall opinion of the book. If you thought you'd get a chance to catch your breath with this book you're plum out of luck. While maybe not as action packed as the first book, Brave Witch begins to unravel many of the secrets that were being kept from Tegan and Emersyn. With Samehin fast approaching they're having to process everything on the fly. Kudos to both of them for how well that appear to be handling things. Tegan seems to have a knack for adapting to her magic intuitively, and Emersyn seems to flourish knowing she has someone by her side, and is more than willing to embrace her magic when the need arises. Tegan and Tenn face their own unique situation from opposing sides, even if what they ultimately want is the same thing. But do the needs of the one, or in this case two, outweigh the needs of the many? Guess you'll have to read Rebel Witch to find out.
This is such a great series. Everyday Tennensee and Tegan have to fight their feelings for one another as their soulmate marks continue to grow. In this story untruths begin to unravel; how will the twins handle this? There is another loss of life which is very heartbreaking. The story continues on a fast paced roller coaster ride as the new Hierophant has been selected and discovered through a quest. You'll be surprised at whom is selected. This book was very hard to put down. This author really knows her stuff and how to pen it into a story that grabs a hold of you and doesn't let you go till you reach The End. I can't wait to see what happens next. I was given this book free of charge in which I voluntarily give this honest and unbiased review.
Fast paced and overflowing with excitement, action, drama, an emotional rollercoaster so you better buckle up.
I did not want to put this book down (only downloaded it last night),I hope the next book is out.
The Coven are put through their paces and emotions are running high. Tegan & Tennessee fight to keep their feelings hidden whilst fighting the demons. The revelation of long held secrets bring forth feelings of betrayal and bewilderment.
I love Tegan & Tennessee, their characters draw you in although the others are fun too. Each of the scenes are easy to picture in your minds eye.
With a little less quest based focus on the action, and a greater interpersonal focus on the relationships entwined within the Coven, The Brave Witch delves into more of the backdrop to the series. Whilst thoroughly entertaining, I'd been hooked on the quest, or modern day Shannara styled nature of (my review of book one) the storyline. With the small differences in book one, that took my breath away when read, I have unfortunately arrived at a 4-Star rating, in lieu of the 5-Stars I gave to The Hidden Witch. Don't confuse this though, with any kind of recommendations that you ought not read this addition, which in and of itself is still a great story and series by themselves.
So this book, as usual, was action packed! The new hierophant is in picture. The new devil is in picture as well (and hence prepare yourselves for a bad news.. :)
One of the coven mate went dark (or simply, is possessed by a demon).
Tegan is becoming crazy powerful and guess whattt... She now knows about the soulmate thing!! I really enjoyed the thing Tegan did in the aquarium.
Tennessee, on the other hand, is still Tennessee... Provided he's still loosing control around Tegan.
The coven will soon be up for their next quest to find the book of shadows... It's going to be hell lot of interesting journey.

Family secrets are revealed; a bond is still growing but must be ignored; and the Coven faces another death. Our beloved characters of the Coven still can't get a chance to catch their breath. It has been constant non-stop problems they must solve to help prepare them for a battle sure to come. Instead of ending with clues to another quest, we are shown who the new "devil" is and where they reside. This series just keeps getting more interesting and hasnt been too predictable, which is a plus. Can't wait to see how they are alerted to the new Coven member and who is sent on the mission to retrieve him!
Tegan is learning more about what it means to be a witch. I really like her character. She is strong and determined and really takes on challenges.
She and Tennessee are so connected but he has his reasons for keeping his distance. I keep waiting for her to figure out some of the secrets being kept from her and know it will be interesting.
I am really enjoying the series and recommend it. It is well written and has a lot of action. I like that you get both Tegan and Tennessee telling the story.
It's 3 stars because while it's better than the other book, it still needed some trimming. It was mildly frustrating waiting for them to get to their point. I worried the whole book would revolve around them on a hunt but that ended and allowed for other things to progress. I'm very interested in the storyline itself and the thought of Tarot witches. While it's not something I'd burn through, I can't seem to drop it. It's not that bad. I'm hoping the theme will continue and be even better than the last.
Things are happening fast for the coven. Tegan and Tennessee must work with the other coven members to find out what is going on before another coven member’s life is risked.
An action packed second book in the series. It continues directly on from where book one left off, and is NOT a standalone book. It also has a book hook ending.
That being said, it’s an entertaining book, set in a fascinating world, with an overarching storyline across the series that is quite gripping. Fans of urban fantasy series, and young adult UF will enjoy this book.
This book continues story of the first in the series. It can not be read by itself - nothing, and I mean nothing, would make any sense.
This book pushes the plot along as the new witches learn to fight and explore the world around her. She helps with the mysterious gap and struggles with the things she is supposed to do/not do, secrets, etc.
FYI - the author's style is to tell different in first person yet alternating who that person is. Sometimes overlapping the same scene but from another's eyes.
So many secrets. So many lies. Tegan and Emersyn have shown their age a bit, but it fit with what was revealed and the lies that had been told. I feel so bad for them, and I don't understand why all the secrecy. There is so much more being hidden. I worry about how Tegan and Emersyn will handle it. They are so strong and brave but still so young. This series is so interesting. I was thrown for a loop with the last chapter. Who in the world is he and why do I get such a bad feeling? Hope I'm wrong.
There’s just something fun about this series. From the angst that is not teenage centered, despite their ages, to the overwhelming influx of magic and quests, it’s a fun ride. Teagan is learning more about herself, as is Em. They finally learn what we’ve known all along, but it doesn’t go so well - and there are still plenty of mysteries surrounding The Coven, with the twins and a Tennessee right in the thick of it.
I am tempted to rate this a three instead; I hate authors making up drama for the sake of drama which is all the coven and family lying to the twins is. There isn’t enough internal storyline logic to make it legitimate. Tegen and Emersyn should have been a lot angrier. Personally, I would have punched more than a few people and told them taking my magic would be a fight to the death. They are way too understanding.
"How much could one person take without losing themselves to misery?" It does not take much. Everyone can take different amounts of pain, sadness or loss in general. The work begins when you have to find your way back to the living world. Life is a mirale and you deserve to live because you can, for yourself. Also, 'Loss' is cutting both ways since we try to minimise it. That is why we have/developed medicine and cancer research e.g. "Hope is not lost."
I do have to say every book in the series so far really needs some major editing. There were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. That being said I really love this series. I oopsed and read Bettina's books first. It wasn't too confusing but made a lot more sense after reading Tegan's books. Even with editing issues, it didn't take away from the story lines. I really wish Emerson's books were a little longer though. This is a must series to read!!!
The first book was a mess but The Brave Witch gives us a bit more to latch onto--though I feel like the author might want to tone down on the soulmate bit. Then again, maybe it's crucial to how it will all end?
Anyway, book two gives us a glimpse of The Coven, learn more about the Cards, etc. This series is sort of one big treasure hunt as The Coven tries to reveal prophecies that the Goddess sends their way. Hopefully, the next books delve into the history of Salem and the Goddess too.
Have you watched The Secret Circle? It's a bit similar to this. Oh and since I actually liked that show, I am giving this series a chance.
So many questions answered, mysteries solved. The Hierophant is finally revealed, and boy was it a doozy. Lies come undone, will the Coven recover from it? Kegan and Tennesee keeps on battling the demons and dark fairies in Tampa and Hidden Kingdon. Will Keagan find out what's the whole 'demon mark" is really about? I hope so.
Wanna know more about the Coven? Read on to the next installment
Ends with a good enough cliffhanger to continue the story but I'm sick of the stupid girl gets all the power and insta falls for a guy because*gasp* they are soulmates, seriously? She makes the stupidest decisions ever and she sucks. Emersyn is a better written character. There's so much tell and not shown, so much kept hidden from the readers. I'm reading the third book because I'm curious but not at all because this is interesting in any way.
