Well, maybe not literally-because in these two audio episodes Wally's too busy flossing the teeth of dinosaurs and swimming with sea monsters! With the introduction of Wally on audio, Bill Myers has taken the goofball antics of Wally McDoogle to the next level. Use it as a read-along or listen for fun-either way, these two CDs are sure to offer more than two hours of enjoyment for the ears!
Volume 3 includes: My Life As Dinosaur Dental Floss My Life As a Torpedo Test Target
Bill Myers was born into a Christian home, and although as a child he became bored with Christianity, he decided at the University of Washington quote, to "make God my boss." Ironically, at the University his worst subject was writing. He claims to have prayed, and said that he would be able to do anything for God, except write. Even so, he has become a prominent Christian writer, and has a large amount of successful books and films to his credit.
The Good: All of the hallmarks of this series are here: Wally learning a very important lesson, plenty of comedic action, the story-within-a-story, and lots of insanity and fun. Though I'm almost thirty, and therefore well past the target audience, I had a blast with it, and it delivered a lesson many adults need to hear as well.
The Bad: Nothing, really.
Conclusion: I was introduced to this series when I was eight years old; my mom bought me a couple of Wally McDoogle books for Christmas that year. Though I liked them back then, I had a lot of issues, so, I didn't quite understand them like I should have. Now that I'm much older and more mature--not to mention smarter, more grounded in reality, and much less insane--I can get these stories better...and this is one I needed to hear.
It was just a little lie. But mishap follows mishap until Wally is chased by bungling terrorists, a SWAT team, the TV news, and the National Guard. It isn't until he risks his life to save his country (and has a little chat with the President along the way) that the madcap misunderstanding finally end. . . And Wally learns that honesty really is the best policy.
Funny and witty. Run like a chicken or stand and fight. Colonel Sanders would be proud. Great lesson told in a fun and funny way. I loved it.
