See No Devils by C.M. Stunich:
This is book 1 in an ongoing series. This book was pretty choppy and disorganized. There wasn't any romance in this book not even a kiss. And, I thought the heroine was a little slow. And, many people in this book are animal demons. Here is a quote that sums up the whole book, "You're the goddess; we are you're ... knights. It takes two pairs of eyes to see evil, two voices to speak curses, two sets of ears to hear the whispers of devils." Trick smokes his cigarette for a long, quiet moment as the bitchy bat thing watches on from a nearby tree. Her stare is intense enough that I have to look away. There's a level of devotion there that I just can't possibly understand, not with the life I've lived. "When you were born, you were gifted my eyes, Crew's voice, and Jensen's hearing."Overall, I didn't like it and it just wasn't my taste. 1.5-star rating.

Light The Fire – Elizabeth Briggs
This is a prequel to an ongoing series. But the story is complete and the ongoing series is with different characters. I loved the plot and the characters in this one. Overall, I really liked the whole high priestess with 4 mates idea. I also liked that this had a romance with all of the guys. And, I would definitely continue this series. 4 stars rating.

Her Big Bad Wolves – Margo Bond Collins
A heroine that doesn't know she is a werewolf (recessive genes)and gets to be the alpha of a pack by inheritance. And, honestly, the whole plot is pretty unbelievable for an urban fantasy. I kinda felt the heroine was a little slow. There wasn't really any romance in this beyond dates. 2.75 stars rating.

Fifth Soul – Laura Greenwood & Arizona Tape
This book contains some LGBT themes. When I read the first chapter of this book I thought the heroine was a fool. And, I continued thinking the heroine was a fool throughout the entire book. This is the book that the title of this compilation is named after. The whole plot revolves around a gaming tournament. This book really just centered around the heroine's best friend. I'm not sure what this was honestly. The heroine had 3 male mates but was making out with her best friend. Overall, I really disliked this. 1.5 stars.

A Nightmarish Mystery – L.C. Hibbett and N.M. Howell
This a bonus story to a series. The first chapter of this book was a nightmare. I was so confused while reading this there was no background information at all. The only romance was in the last chapter of this book. 1-star rating.

Twisted: A Fairy Tale Mash-up – Lena Mae Hill
This is book 1 in an ongoing series. It's a twist on little red riding hood and the three little pigs. The heroine is a witch and the plot revolves around Granny Golden. This book was okay I just wasn't that into it. 2.75 stars.

Raven’s Fall – Eva Chase
This was a companion novel to an ongoing series that I really like and have already read before. In this story, the villain from the second book was the heroine. This story felt uncomplete a little especially if you read the series. But it did include an HFN. 3 stars.

Charms of Attraction – Julia Clarke
The heroine can control minds and she's terrified of her powers. The heroine is kind of commitment-shy. I didn't really feel the reverse harem world was developed enough. The plot was about a psychotic ex who steals priceless art. 3-star rating. The book was okay.

Hell’s Calling – Bea Paige & Skye MacKinnon
This is book 1 in an ongoing series. The plot revolves around lucifer kidnapping the heroines baby sister. And, the heroine and her harem travel through hell to get her sister back. This book contained a mixture of Christian and Greek mythology along with Dantes inferno aspects. One thing I really liked about this book was the characters. They were well developed and interesting. This book ended with a cliffhanger. 3.75 stars.

Twisted – Amy Sumida
This was a wizard of Oz retelling. Dareaux/Dorothy is a storm witch. I really enjoyed this book and the plot. I liked all the characters and this book did an amazing job of taking me to another world. And, this was a complete finished book. 4.25 stars.

Inconceivable Origin – Chloe Adler
The heroine works at a blood bank brothel (She's a prostitute but I liked her). Some of the characters could have been a little more developed but I liked them. I really enjoyed and liked this book. This book was stand alone but it could have used an epilogue. 3.75 stars.

On The Edge Of Forever – AJ Anders & Amanda Perry
This is a prequel to Fangers, Furries, and Fruit Flies. This book was humorous and I really enjoyed it. I liked the setting, plot, and characters. I would definitely continue this series. If anyone has any details about the next book in the series let me know. 4.5 stars. This was my favorite.

Eclipse – Angelique Armae
This is book 1 in an ongoing series about the daughter of Bastet, an ancient Egyptian god. This book lacked background information and the glossary helped a little but not much. I think the issue was with me in this one. I just wasn't interested and I didn't enjoy it. 2.75 stars.

Queen Takes Jaguars – Joely Sue Burkhart
This was about a vampire queen who already had guys and needs a god to give her a baby. I was a little confused while reading this. This book lacked a lot of information. And, I didn't like the MC/heroine. This wasn't a normal reverse harem romance because the guys were already in her life and really the reader doesn't know anything about them. Really this book was about a woman who already had a harem who wants a baby from a god. And, it was centered around finding this god. 2 stars.

Sovereign of Souls – Caia Daniels
This is a prequel in an ongoing series. The heroine a goddess? I wasn't really into this one. I didn't really like the plot or the characters. Overall, it was okay, 3-star rating.

Ugly Magic – May Dawson
This is kind of like a second chance romance only the heroine is wearing a different face via enchantment. But the guys do know who she is the entire time. Honestly, I didn't how to feel about this one. And, I wasn't satisfied with the ending. 2.75 stars.

At Water’s Edge – LA Kirk & Lyn Forester
This book is standalone and it felt very complete unlike some of the other books in this compilation. It is about a water nymph finding love among humans. But the water nymph was more like a mermaid with permanent legs. 3.25 stars.

My Soul To Keep by Jackie May
This book is standalone. This quote sums up the whole plot, "Kinsey accidentally sells her soul for a forever relationship and ends up in the Netherworld with the three lords of the afterlife." I liked this and overall it was enjoyable and drama free. 4 stars.

Blinded Beauty – Cecilia Randell
This book is standalone and it is about a blind girl discovering her destiny. This book kinda had a post-apocalyptic future feel to it even though it was none of those things. There wasn't much romance in this but it captured my interest. 3.5 stars.

Indebted to the Vampires – Erin Bedford
I think this book is standalone but it could be in a series. Nothing was really specified and the story is incomplete. Basically, this story revolves around the relationship of a maid (she's a temp) and her vampires. But there's not much romance at all and this isn't really a reverse harem. The characters were a little cliche but the book was enjoyable. 3.5 stars.

Moon Academy – Catherine Banks
This is about a high school girl who was adopted into a werewolf pack. I think this is a book in a series but I'm not sure. There wasn't much background information and the characters were teenagers. Honestly, this book didn't fit with the other books in this compilation and I wasn't into it (it felt a juvenile). Overall it was okay and not the book for me personally. 3 stars.

Demon In Distress – A and E Kirk
So, this is a book in the Divinicus Nex Chronicles. I was confused throughout reading this. I haven't read this series recently or the book before this. And, I was lost. 3 stars.

Overall Thoughts:
Overall rating is 3 stars. Honestly, the majority of books in this collection were duds. But there was a few gems. So the major questions is, Is it worth it? There are literally 22 books in this compilation (The largest and longest compilation I've ever read). I would only recommend this for the shear amount of reads you can get out of this and as a good time passer. But Quantity does not equally Quality. Each of the books are around 80-200 pages. I will say though some of the prequels in this collection, I can't even find any mentions of their series. But, honestly, I would rather read several full length novels that are more my taste than this compilation. And, after reading this compilation I was drained. I did enjoy those few gems though.

She has her knights, her eyes her ears, and her voice, Trick, Crew, and Jensen. She also has her Sanshi, her three Corpses, the spirits born inside her once they are all found and bound to her. Life has suddenly gotten very complicated and very deadly.

See No Devils was originally a story in Realms and Rebels: A Paranormal and Fantasy Reverse Harem Collection. This is a complex, fast-paced story based on the three monkeys, see no evil; speak no evil; hear no evil. It's an intriguing set-up and start to the story. This first book is mostly world-building, character introduction, and foundation building. The attraction, tension, even resentment and hostility between the characters is established but there is no romantic relationship established at this time. The mix of Japanese names and fantasy creatures does make the flow of the story falter at times. It's difficult but I think that now that it has all been introduced, we can start getting more into the actual story. Warning, just as the story starts heating up, right as you start to be invested, it abruptly ends. You are tossed right out of the main storyline, away from her knights who are all in grave danger and find yourself back in Raine's original life. If you are anything like me, you are screaming for more!

I have not read all of the collection yet but I will since this contains many of my favorite authors. I will be editing and adding to my review as I read.

But I have to admit, drunk Lola is my favorite. She was hysterical and adorable. Loved, loved, loved drunk Lola! I really liked the other characters as well. Ciera made a deal with the Devil. Lucifer/Luke owns her soul in exchange for the means to keep her sister safe. She does some minor work for him in return for enough money to keep her three-year-old sister Tris housed, fed, and clothed. She's not a good person but she will do whatever it takes to keep Tris safe. But it went wrong and Luke has Tris. He sent someone for Ciera and when she fought back, they took her baby sister instead. Now she will do whatever it takes to get Tris back. A trip to hell is on order. With a tip, Ciera locates someone who can help her get to Hell, a semi-fallen Angel Maro. Once in the 9 circles of hell, they pick up two of his 'friends', a hellhound/man Cerebus and a wolf-man Plutus. Although her brain tells her that she can trust no one, Ciera feels safe with these three. She also feels an undeniable attraction. Even in the depths of hell.
Hell's Calling is outstanding. What an original spin on Dante's Inferno. Certainly more interesting than the one I read in high school. Fantastic, vivid world-building. Strong imagery. Ciera is the strong lead this story needs as its anchor. She's not all good, certainly not all bad but she is determined. She loves fiercely and protects the one she loves. I don't feel that Luke stands a chance. She has a spark, a light that attracts those in desperate need of something to believe in. She is their Hope. Maro is the conflicted Angel, mostly light with a touch of darkness; Ceb is dangerously playful like an overgrown puppy but with more than a little bite, and Plutus is openly naughty. We don't know much about him yet except for his sorted past with Maro. They all have a palpable connection to Ciera. They all make a girl lose her sense.
I was drawn in from the first scene of this book and could not put it down. I love the story, the characters and I can't wait to see what happens next. I want into the inner circles. I want to meet Luke and a certain family member. I want Tris back with Ciera. I want Ciera to hold on to what makes her special. I want more of the guys. I want MORE!

I loved this book! I love everything about Remy. I love how she torments her younger brother, I love how she torments the top shifter security, I love how she never backs down from a challenge or a wrong, and I love how she seems to create chaos at every turn. She also seems to have an inherent kindness and acceptance of all. Reid, the Alpha and his bond mates Elijah, the fae and Noah the vampire all seem like worthy leaders and maybe, just maybe together the three will eventually be able to handle Remy. Until then, the little "imp, she-devil, brat" will continue inadvertently causing mayhem. I personally find it all hysterical, so I hope they are slow to get control! Her handling of Goldie and the other two triplets, Barbie, and her brother made me giggle through the entire book. The end ruckus between the bonded was also very entertaining. I am very eager to continue on with this story!

Thousands of years after the gods returned to the heavens only a few magical creatures still exist on earth. The nereid, water nymphs remained behind and still live in their underwater palace. While they once rescued sailors on the seas, now most sing and play in the waters to gain gifts from tourists. But not Thesla. She doesn't join in with her sisters' games but instead finds herself drawn to three villagers, the watchman who protect the town from fire and other dangers. They remind her of the demigods of old. Kavith with his amazing mind, Neo with his speed of foot, and Harun with his strength draw her to the shore day after day. The men are equally entranced by Thesla and find reasons to visit her daily bringing gifts. As kind and handsome as they are, Thesla is still fearful that they are like the men of old tales who will try to lure her from the ocean and steal her immortality. It takes a dangerous event before Thesla realizes her fears. She's willing to give up everything for them but it may be too late.
It took me a little bit to get into this story but once I did I was enraptured. The world-building is exceptional, the history complete, and the characters interesting. The clash of worlds, the meaning of life all resonated with me. This was a story that had many layers. The cruelty, the carelessness of the nereid's seemed symbolic of so much of the world today. Only Thesla remembered. She offered so much hope and the love between her and the watchman was the true treasure.

See No Devils - This was a furiously fast paced novella with a hell of a lot going on. It was not an easy read but very interesting. Think I’d have to read it again to make sure I had a grasp on everything. 3.5 stars.

Light The Fire - I really enjoyed this read and especially the concept. It was a shame it was a novella and not a novel in itself. Definitely makes me want to read the Her Elemental Dragons series. 4 stars.

Her Big Bad Wolves - A good start to a shifter series. Don’t feel like I know much about the characters at all but what I do know, I like. No heat in this story. 3 stars.

I'm reading it from the back to the front. Demon in Distress was funny and full of suspense. Those cliffhangers A&E gives onyl compares to Once Upon a Time's. There is no way you can read only one chapter. I finished this story in a couple hours, breathless till the end. Once again, A&E showed me they really know how to make the reader feel thousand of emotins, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I've read other books of this author and I thought I might find some similar personalities as they have multiple male characters, but I was pleasantly surprised. Every guy has a different personality, no clichés and a main character interesting to read.

Totally recommended.

Delicious little spin off from Their Vampire Queen Series, the reader learns about how Mayte came to exist and how she finds her own mate. This is a story which can be read as a standalone. It will most likely intrigue the reader and hook them into the main series.

For those who enjoy darker vampires who are unapologetic about their desires and nature, this series is for you. Mayte is surround by loved ones and yet they are not enough to protect her from the dangers from her own kind. This is hard on Mayte because as a queen, she should be the one to protect her people. One of the ways to keep her people safe yet place them in more danger is to produce an heir. Unfortunately, female vampires have not been reproducing and no one knows why... except her mother. Her mother who killed herself trying to get to her lover.

Ms. Burkhart weaves her magic with words in this condensed and fast paces erotica. The characters add to the overall picture in the main series and enhances this vampire world. The erotic tension between Mayte and the jaded Aztec god is on fire. Their chemistry starts in an adversarial manner and morphs into sexy heat. This erotic is recommended for paranormal readers who enjoy their vampires with a bite.

OVERALL:
22 stories -- DNF'd 2; didn't even start 6; 2 or 2.5 stars 5; 3 or 3.5 stars 6; 4 or 4.5 stars 3.
That's about 3 stars or less overall. There were a few that really surprised me, and have me looking into more books by those authors. But a lot that just weren't my cup of tea, or didn't even interest me. *shrugs* This is my first experience with Reverse Harem, but I'm not sure it's the genre so much as the different writing styles that didn't work for me.

SEE NO DEVILS by C.M. STUNICH:
2 stars -- To be fair, I should have DNF'd this one... It didn't capture me at all, and I was honestly just extremely confused about the plot and the world. To top it off I didn't connect with any of our characters. It just didn't work for me.

LIGHT THE FIRE by ELIZABETH BRIGGS:
3 stars -- This read fairly easily, but I wasn't really that drawn to any of the characters. I felt like I didn't really understand the world that well, and I only partially got to know any of the characters. Basically it was a good story, but didn't stand out. And I also have a pet peeve of reading books where the characters names change, or the spelling changes.

HER BIG BAD WOLVES by MARGO BOND COLLINS:
DNF'd @ chapter 5 -- I learned my lesson from See No Devils, and when I wasn't really intrigued by the characters or plot, and I was more forcing myself to continue reading, I figured I should cut my losses b/c this wasn't a match for me.

FIFTH SOUL by LAURA GREENWOOD & ARIZONA TAPE:
3.5 stars -- Yay! This one pulled me in more! I will admit that I was super confused about Rachel in the beginning, and while I should have understood what was happening, I didn't. Occasionally the attitudes of Lola and Todd didn't work for me, but all in all I enjoyed the world and the romance!

A NIGHTMARISH MYSTERY by L.C. HIBBETT & N.M. HOWELL:
2 stars -- Steamier??? Uhhhh... So I've never read any of the stories that this novella is connected to, but the introduction said that this could be read as a standalone and that it was written to give fans more steam for the characters from the series. The novella was 9 chapters, and for the first 7-8, the men barely made an appearance. So for me there was NO chemistry, and it makes me wonder what kind of romance is in the normal novels, b/c this was super quick at the end. Also, the plot was super confusing and I really didn't understand the elements at ALL, so I would say this does not read as a standalone. Probably better if you're a fan of the series.

TWISTED: A FAIRY TALE MASH-UP by LENA MAE HILL:
2.5 stars -- Well, I read it all. Honestly it was intriguing at first, but then I just got more and more confused. It seriously felt as though this one was edited and scenes were removed, leaving me missing super important parts. Like we'd be at one point, I'd turn to the next chapter and I would be so confused by where we were and what had happened to make that come to be (Oral sleeping with Cayenne for one). And then the ending! No apologies? No explanations about why he did what he did? And she just fucks him? WTF??? And what the hell was with Yvonne? And jesus, we really don't get any explanation. Nope.

RAVEN'S FALL by EVA CHASE:
4 stars -- Yay!! Another hit for me! It might have even been 4.5 rounded down, can't decide. I just enjoyed Munnin (I butchered that spelling) as our heroine. She was forthright with a bit of spunk, and it was interesting seeing her adjust to her new circumstances. And the boys were all adorable in different ways. I appreciated that they were each so different, each a bit damaged, but so very loveable. And wow, the steamy scenes, while short, were pretty hot. I actually felt the connection between them all. I might have to look into more by this author.

CHARMS OF ATTRACTION by JULIA CLARKE:
Didn't start -- the blurb just didn't interest me at all, and apparently I don't have the patience to try.

HELL'S CALLING by BEA PAIGE & SKYE MACKINNON:
3 stars -- I mean, it was okay. I had a harder time getting into it, I guess I just wasn't connecting with Ciera. And I wasn't that enamoured with Maro. I enjoyed Ceb though. Bit bummed that it was that long only to have no resolution, but I guess that happens.

TWISTED by AMY SUMIDA:
DNF in chapter 1 -- The term midget was used. Pretty sure that's not cool. I tried to go on anyways, but I wasn't connecting with Dorothy at all, so I bailed.

3 stars -- This one had so much potential. I really enjoyed the world that was depicted, and I loved some of the moments of snark and teasing between characters. But then Remy happened. Remy was violent, abusive, a slut shamer, a mean girl. She could have been so much more, but she kept behaving appallingly and I was so disappointed. She kicked a guy in the balls when he called her "little". I do understand that some of the bond shiznit was making her worse, but the inherent meanness was still a large part of who she was because no one was that surprised by her behavior (not even her). Super bummer. Would have continued on otherwise.

MY SOUL TO KEEP by JACKIE MAY:
3.5 stars -- This was the novella that brought this anthology to my attention, as I've read books by this author's other pen name and I love her. This was also my first read of the anthology, and as such my first official reverse harem story. I enjoyed it, for sure, but I had a hard time suspending my disbelief with how quickly Kinsey accepts her new situation. However, the world of purgatory was seriously intriguing, and I enjoyed all of the characters. All 3 men brought something different to the table, and to the relationship. I was less entranced with Pierce...I just didn't feel the attraction there beyond physical. But Gabriel was fun, flirty and sweet, and Cyrus was the surprise favourite for me: sweet, kind, gentle and caring.

BLINDED BEAUTY by CECILIA RANDELL:
4.5 stars -- Wow, this one caught me completely by surprise! I couldn't believe how this novella really ended up feeling like a complete story. Which is not to say I wouldn't love to read more in this world, but I felt satisfied with the plot and the relationship developments. I don't tend to read a lot of fantasy, and this was my first story with Gryphon shifters, but I fell in love. It had me on the edge of my seat, I felt things for the characters and situations, and I loved the world.

INDEBTED TO THE VAMPIRES by ERIN BEDFORD:
2 stars -- Oh...no... OK, first off if you're the kind of person that easily notices little errors, this one had some noticeable ones (like the part where it said melodramatic when I'm pretty sure it meant the opposite). Also, there is no romance. The ending was completely unsatisfying. For a reverse harem, I expect romance or at least a relationship. On the plus side, I liked that the vampires were not good people...that was kind of refreshing and more in line with normal horror. Essentially this one was not for me.

MOON ACADEMY by CATHERINE BANKS:
2.5 stars -- I almost DNF'd this one early because of the fat shaming...but for some reason I continued on. I guess I was curious where it was going to go. But the writing was pretty flat, as were the characters.

DEMON IN DISTRESS by A. AND E. KIRK:
4.5 stars -- Super compelling...like so compelling I went looking for the rest of the freaking story. And I have no idea where the rest of the story is. So rounding down, because it ends unfinished and there's no indication that the rest of the story ever came out. Which is a bummer, because I was invested. The characters were interesting, colourful, and the world was fascinating.

Absolutely a phenomenal read that had me glued too my kindle. Rayne has always been different especially seeing demons. Everyone told her she was crazy. Now meeting Trick and him telling her who she is and her destiny is, she still thinks she’s crazy. With demons after them Rayne must reunite with her knights to take the devil down. Finding Trick & Crew was easy but Jenson might be a challenge. I can’t wait too read more. CM also comes up with amazing stories that always captivated me and has me wanting more. Another 5 Star read that everyone must read.

So far, I'm digging this a lot. I just finished Hell's Calling by Bea Paige and Skye MacKinnon, and I thought it was fun. Fast paced and engaging, and it has a nice twist on Hell that made me excited with some parts. A little too fast for me but the ending seriously made me want the second book.

Right now I'm reading Demon In Distress by A&E Kirk and it's pretty funny. Fast, consistent, and it's part of the DNC world I absolutely love so as a fan, it's great seeing a different part of the Mandatum and their teams who have, so far, been seen as bad, considering they're after a certain main character.

I don't always by anthologies but there were a lot of authors in this that I liked or intended to read, and now I can. It's a definite recommend because I've already found an author I'm interested to explore more. Check it out.

This was a really interesting read. It was seriously out of this world (*snort* you'll get that later), and I'm still not sure what to make of it. It was good, but it was really different.

The FMC was uber snarky and maybe a little bit crazy. The MMCs were fun, a little exasperating (who am I kidding so was Rayne), and had plenty of their own snark.

The sarcasm was for real in this book, especially between Rayne and Trick but also between Rayne and Kumo. In fact, Kumo's apparent indignation with Rayne was seriously amusing.

After the all the action, meeting some of the other MCs, and Rayne just being in fear of her life, learning about Jensen was a bit of a surprise. A good surprise though. I think I am definitely going to be sitting in anticipation of how he interacts with Rayne.

All in all, a fun read. It's really different from other stories. Original. I like that.

I finally finished this ENORMOUS anthology and have come back to give a full review. Bottom line: this is a huge collection of stories that are mostly worth the read. There are a few lemons in the bunch, but 22 total stories in the collection you're bound to find a few to really love. I've given a brief review of each below, but ultimately there were 14 I'd read again, 6 were perfectly decent, and 2 I wish I hadn't wasted my time on. I'm, giving this one 4 stars because the 14 good stories deserve it.

Solidly recommend, 7: Twisted (both of them - there are two in this collection with the same title), Ravens fall, At Water's Edge, My soul to keep, Moon Academy, Demon in Distress (<- this one does end on a bit of a cliffy, but it was so good I don't care)
Good, 7: Light the fire, Her big bad wolves, Inconceivable origin, On the Edge of Forever, Queen Takes Jaguars, Ugly Magic, Blinded Beauty
Ok, 3: Fifth Soul, A nightmarish mystery, Charms of attraction

See no devils - an interesting premise and seemingly well developed world, but it's not a complete story and ends on a cliffy.

Light the fire - was good. While it is a prequel, and as such does leave the story unfinished, it felt more complete than see no devils. There's definitely more to the overarching story with the dragons and the Gods, but we got to see a relatively compete development of the relationship between the MC and her 4 guys. There was some good heat between the characters and the fact that the characters had history together helped avoid Insta - love. I'll probably be picking up the next one to see what happens.

Her big bad wolves was enjoyable. I like the premise of the world divided and the variety of different road blocks the author devised to prolong everyone figuring out they were mates, but was a bit disappointed that 95% of the story took place with the MCs separated. I would have liked to see them have some degree of interaction and connection.

Fifth Soul - was cute enough. I appreciated the unique spin of a co-ed harem, but it felt a bit more like an outline than a completed story. We got no detail about how the characters knew they were mates; all we saw was one brief physical contact with one of them that caused her mark to burn, but if contact made the mark burn how would the girls not have known sooner? There was also a lot of build up for the big reveal with the families and then that scene wasn't even 'on camera'. Overall it wasn't a chore to read, but I won't be seeking out more.

A nightmarish mystery was rough for me. Maybe it would have been better if I knew the series? I appreciated some of those little details that did make it feel dreamlike; people you actually know taking on a bizarre role, like Bianca and Gerard, or recognizing a face but not knowing the name. The authors claim this is capable of being a standalone, but without a broader story to put it into context the plot of this one is nonsensical at best, if not non-existent.

Twisted: a fairy tale mashup is probably my favorite of the anthology so far. I definitely did not see the main plot twist coming and really enjoyed the story. I think my only complaint would be how easily Caye forgave the brothers. They should have had to grovel at least a little.

Ravens fall was another winner, IMO. I had a little trouble getting into, possibly bc I've never been into Norse mythology and all I really know about Odin I learned from the Godhunter series, but once I got past the Norse references I really enjoyed it. So much so that I've already downloaded the next story to see what happens.

Charms of attraction was a cute little story. I was a little disappointed in the MC for not trusting her guys at the pivotal moment; I didn't think there were enough convincing roadblocks to influence her. Given the short nature of the book I didn't really feel like I got to know the guys very well, and most of the relationship development seems to take place off camera in the multi-week jumps. Nevertheless, it was a sweet story with an HEA.

Hell's calling is an incomplete story (a serial? Except it's unclear how many there will be and I don't think just two counts as a serial). The premise isn't bad, though as someone who's never read Dante's inferno I found the descriptions of the circles to be a little lackluster. I like the characters and am interested to see how it ends, but I'm annoyed to be left on a cliffy with a sequel that doesn't even appear to have an expected publication date.

Twisted was great. A wonderful spin on the wizard of oz story. I really enjoyed the way the author worked in the most iconic lines. My only criticism would be the ending, I don't want to spoil, so I'll just say it all ended a little too easily.

Inconceivable origin - I actually really enjoyed this one until the very end. I liked the characters, the steamy scenes were well done, the plot was interesting. Then the last chapter felt super rushed; like the author either ran out of time or had a word count limit and tried to cram several chapters' worth of resolution into two pages. I also have no idea what the title means.

On the Edge of Forever left me wanting more, but in a good way. I'm very intrigued by the little world that was set up in this story and would totally read a series set in this universe. The MC bordered on unrelatable with the hair trigger temper, and I'm not a fan of unprompted and unnecessary physical violence, but I liked the guys and their interactions with the MC and I thought the authors had some clever twists to prolong the discovery/confirmation of the bond/mate situation. I do wish we'd gotten to see more interaction between the main characters, though; I'm guessing maybe only 5% of the story involved actual interaction between the MC and her guys.

I had a harder time getting into Eclipse. Possibly because I know nothing about Egyptian mythology? There were a lot of characters, most of them off-screen, that made it difficult to try and remember who's who in such a short story. The storyline was intriguing, but fair warning that it ends on a cliffy leading into a second story that's not out yet. I probably would have gone ahead and downloaded #2 to see what happens if I could, but I'm not invested enough to go looking for it in several months if/when it comes out.

Queen Takes Jaguars was short but good. There's no real time to get to know any of the characters, but we come into an already established RH so that's not the end of the world. Another story playing off ancient religions I don't know, this one did a decent job telling you what you need to know to not be totally lost (though there are plenty of proper nouns tossed in there that could be a geographic location or a name for a group of people or something else and I had no idea. But I didn't really need to know to keep the story moving.) I'm all for an MC embracing her sexuality and asking for what she wants, but making it such a central point of the plot seems a but silly.

Sovereign of Souls I thoroughly did NOT enjoy. It took me two weeks to get through this one because I found myself easily distracted and reluctant to return to it. I even seriously considered not finishing it, but by that point I was on chapter 8 of 10 and decided to try to power through. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why. The writing felt forced, like the author had a thesaurus out while writing. The dialogue almost never had dialogue tags so the conversations were very difficult to follow. None of the characters seemed to have any real personality. Many scenes, even within just 10 chapters, got repetitive - the same phrases were used over and over again, especially regarding the sex/ bonding/ meditating thing they do and also about the telepathy. If I could do it again I'd have given up in this one in the first chapter.

Ugly Magic - was very enjoyable. Its heavy on the smut, but there is a legitimate storyline underneath. Despite its short length I felt like I could distinguish between the three guys and the backstory allows the space to avoid insta-love. My only complaint on this one was that there seemed to be a few continuity errors (Case took his shirt off 3 times in the course of one encounter) and a possibly significant detail may have unintentionally been edited out (during the Case sex scene there are hints of a disability - being one handed or only having use of one hand - but there is no other mention elsewhere in the book). Despite those editing issues I will gladly pick up a sequel if there is one (which is a real possibility given the open, but not at all cliff-hanger, ending).

At Water's Edge was an interesting spin on a reverse harem in that the story actually had very little to do with the RH itself and was more about the MC deciding what to do with her life and dealing with sibling drama. It was a short and sweet story and despite the RH not really being a focus I thought the affection between the characters was well written. The setting of the story is a bit abstract/undefined, but it works for the story.

My soul to keep - was actually really cute. I lost my first review of this one, so I'm re - writing it a few weeks after reading and have probably forgotten some of the finer details, but it was a new premise I've not come across before. A fun supernatural setting with 3 lords of the netherworld that are loosely based on mythology, but not closely tied to any particular version, as far as I'm aware, allowing their personalities to be truly what the author wants them to be, an MC who's relatable without being self deprecating, a relatively drama free segue into RH, and some decent steamy scenes along the way. Worth the read.

Blinded Beauty - was cute. An interesting premise, a depressingly believable cultural set up, a relatable and endearing MC. After reading I feel a general sense of affection for many of the characters, including the main guys - not the strongest endorsement, I suppose, as far as book boyfriends go, but certainly enjoyable.

Indebted to the vampires - I would honestly skip if I could go back and do it over again. In the early chapters it was all I could do not to roll my eyes at the entitlement of the MC. She complains that she'll barely have time to pee after seeing her first chore list, but the list only has three things on it: laundry, Windows for one floor of one wing, and vacuuming one room. Laundry is time consuming, but doesn't require much engagement, so while it would take around 8 hours (assuming 6 loads), she would only be actively working about half that. And omg the audacity that they'd give their full time, live in maid 8 hours worth of things to do. Then the "it was barely eight and already they had me on my toes" - people everywhere start work at or before 8am, and it's not like she has a commute. Beginning to see why she was unemployed. Then came the editing inconsistencies. She'd only finished 3 brothers' laundry, but then is delivering all of it. She's "surprised they hadn't asked [her] to fold", but they absolutely did, it was on the completely unnecessarily detailed list (it what world do you need to list: start laundry, switch loads, fold laundry, return to owners? It's just "do laundry"). Then, after 9 chapters of constant complaining, when she discovers their secret she actually says "man, I really had loved this job". Wtf? Last but not least it ends with no story resolution at all and her sticking around because...? no actual reason was given. Not clear if the author is setting up for a future mind control element? Overall not impressed and felt like a waste of my time.

Moon academy - was cute and overall I really enjoyed it. I found the ending to be a little lackluster, and feel like maybe the author decided at the last minute to give the MC an extra trait? Bc there's no foreshadowing earlier in the story, and in fact she directly contradicts the reveal just a few pages earlier she calls herself human then refers to herself as a witch . I would read more from this series.

Demon in Distress - was great, but be forewarned it is not a complete story and ends on a bit of a cliffy. Unfortunately I see nothing on their website about this series so no idea when there may be a resolution. I would absolutely read more if there was more to read.

Review part 1

Realms and rebels as a whole. 

I don't normally buy books anymore ,now I have kindle unlimited, but as a few of the authors I follow had stories in this and it was a great deal I thought I would get it. 

My first thought after reading the first 2 stories was I thought the stories would be stand alone novellas. I didn't realise they would be basically prequels to either new series or established series. I guess it makes sense since it's a way for the authors to promote their other work. 


See No Devils - C.M Stunich

One of my favourite authors so I was excited to see something new from her. 

See No Devils felt like a teaser first 10 chapters rather than a novella but maybe that's me not understanding what a novella was. 

A few spelling and grammar mistakes. The wrong title/name used for one of the MCs but over all a good start to what I hope will be a new series. 


Light The Fire - Elizabeth Briggs

Another new author to me. Wolf shifter stories are my favourite shifter stories so I was looking forward to this one. 

It's original in the type of werewolf; Generic, born and turned. Some generic need to be bitten so they can shift such as the MC. 

Also wondering what happened to Seth, the bar manager... since Owen was the one to meet her and open the bar after the impromptu pack meeting.

Fairy or elf? Her kidnapper is referred to as both... I don't mind the odd spelling or grammar mistake but not names or species. 

Looking forward to the continuation of this.


Fifth Soul- Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape

I haven't come across these authors before. I really liked this it was sweet without being ott. The MC wasn't too wet and it wasn't all love at first sight with overbearing mates.

Love the Cats, Ghosts and Avocado Toast series! 

This bonus story doesn't disappoint!  So it's a little different from the first 2 books in that we are stuck in a dream however it loosely covers a few parts from the books. I really hope this is showing what we'll be coming in book 3! About time we got some sexy scenes

Huge fan of the Their Dark Valkyrie series.

So this is why Muninn went rogue. Do I blame her? Not in the slightest. Without giving away too much of the Their Dark Valkyrie series Odin is an arse but is there more too it? Probably but I'm sure there was a better way to go about things. 

I wonder which of the 3 was the male Aria saw in Muninn's memory? 


Charms Of Attraction - Julia Clarke

Humans with superpowers aren't really my kind of thing but this story has opened my eyes. 

I like how Ana proved if the mind believes something then it can happen (placebo effect). 

Looking forward to Ana's story.

Anyone else wondering which deadly sin they are and what level of hell they will end up? 

Got to love a sassy MC that can put an angel, Cerberus himself and the Greek god of wealth (in the form of a wolf shifter) in their place.

I've not read the godhunter series yet but it has been recommended to me.

I prefer originals rather than retells but I gave this a go.

Dorothy otherwise known as Dareaux (translate tells me it's pronounced Da-re-ous/Darius?) gets pulled in to Oz to fight her aunts and the wizard but she needs an army to do that... 

Not really my thing. Dareaux was very quick to forget everything from earth. Maybe if it had more action? The army was rather redundant in the end.


Inconceivable Origin - Chloe Adler

It took me a while reading this to figure out what was frustrating about it, primarily the stories are first stories or prequels. I would have preferred more stand-alone stories. It is not impossible to create a world in this shorter space but it seems that authors have used it to provide fanservice and some background they wanted but had not written previously. I really hope most of these get published as individually, especially the 1st stories.
This is a reasonable collection i you like reverse harem and want something to break up your other reading, none of the stories are taxing. And there is something for all tastes.

See No Devils by C.M. Stunich
Disclosure: See No Devils is why I bought Realms and Rebels. I have written a full review which I will post when and if C.M Stunich publishes the story individually. I'm glad I bought it See No Devils is a fast-paced fun ride with brilliant characters that engaged me and made me theorise the significance of characters, of situations. Any story that can do that in 10 chapters is impressive. I loved the characters and the writing, both are amusing and intelligent. This is definitely a series I will be keeping an eye out for. 4.5 stars.

Light the Fire by Elizabeth Briggs
Light the Fire is a prequel in the Her Elemental Dragons series (1st book Stroke the Flame). It's not a series I have read but this does make me want to read it, as any entry in an anthology should. The lore is brilliant, there are reverse harems woven into the world, the mythology and I like the fate angle that was used. What really struck me reading Light the Fire is the feeling of fan service, Calla and her men appear in Her Elemental Dragons as supporting characters this feels like something that fans wanted, had asked Ms Briggs for. Her Big Bad Wolves by Margo Bond Collins
Another story with editing issues. Days and names were wrong sometimes. Liam was originally Seth I think and there is one instance where that wasn't changed. And there are continuity issues in the timeline. It is a helluva into a world with decent lore. I would love to spend some time getting to know, James, the pack historian. He is the brains trust and after the alpha the best person to introduce a reader to the world. Has the feel of a prequel if or when the series continues I don't think this will be a necessary read just a pleasant addition. But it did it the nail on the head to a degree S's options are a complete, balanced man. This is common in reverse harem. (Full review is available here.) 3 stars (.5 loss due to bad editing)

Fifth Soul by Laura Greenwood & Arizona Tape
Fifth Soul feels like a lost opportunity. The harem is 3 men and 1 woman centring on a bisexual protagonist. It is a situation I had thought of but never seen in a stand alone. Given the authors have a series for this universe (Dragon Soul, Torn Soul protagonist Holly makes an appearance) it could have been published left on its own and done very well because that is a situation that is a fantasy for some. It is lost in here this anthology. It's also odd, the lore isn't explained well, the writing isn't consistent and there is too much focus on a single relationship. It's rushed and disappointing because of that. I can't even make this 2 stars. 1.75 stars

A Nightmarish Mystery by L.C. Hibbett and N.M. Howell
I have never read any of the Cats, Ghosts and Avocado Toast series, that put me at a distinct disadvantage reading A Nightmarish Mystery. This story fits between A Vet Vanishes (book #2) and A Devilish Disappearance (book #3) and is admitted fan service, though not the kind of fluff one expects from fan service, this is heavy and dark. It can be read as a stand alone thought that is not its intention. I give props to the authors for creating a situation that allowed for fans to get what they wanted but didn't mess with the continuity of the series. I know from the authors note that A Nightmarish Mystery is different to the series but reading this first does not endear me to the series, does not make me curious to read it. Might that defeat at least part of the purpose of the story? 2 stars.

Twisted: A Fairy Tale Mash-up by Lena Mae Hill
Another 1st book in a new series unlike the others though this one is explicitly aimed at the YA market. From the time I read it's intended audience I questioned its place in this anthology, Realms and Rebels seems to be aiming at a more mature audience. But Twisted had more sexual intimacy than a few of the others and some seriously dicey consent. Twisted has a well executed set up Little Red Riding Hood meets Three Little Pigs. Having the leading man be not particularly likeable was a good thing in the scheme of things but Cayenne frustrated me a combination of her Red Riding Hood nature and her attempted modernity, it rubbed me the wrong way. My biggest issue was the questionable consent she sort of assented to their actions but not strongly enough for my conscience. (My full review of Twisted) 3 stars.

Raven’s Fall by Eva Chase
Raven's Fall plays with Odin's raven Muninn, the raven of memory and the idea of shapeshifting. When Muninn transforms she appears as standard with a gorgeous black dress. What I really like is the use of the phrase "what in Hel's name" this is possibly the origins of the curse used now, Hel guardian of Helheim the Norse equivalent of the underworld. The language in Raven's Fall is fantastic, it is beautifully descriptive. The raven, the rogue, the healer and the charmer. They are an intoxicating combination. Muninn's innocence/ naivety is endearing because it is understood, she isn't human she is an immortal who has never experienced humanity's joys. Her men share easily, but their stories broke my heart. Mythology is always a whole lot of fun, make it Norse and it becomes even more bloody and vindictive. Reading Raven's Fall certainly made me interested in reading more of the Their Dark Valkyrie series.

Charms of Attraction by Julia Clarke
Fantastic characters. Charms of Attraction focuses on the relationships the protagonist has with not only the men in her life but her sister. The portrayal of the sibling relationship between protagonist Katerina and sister Ana is particularly good. I really liked one date in particular. There is potential in the series, as with so many in the anthology though polyandry in the norm in the society.
I will say though this story does really need a warning for those sensitive to domestic or psychological violence situations, violence plays a major role in Katerina's past and is discussed in some detail. 3.5 stars

Hell’s Calling by Bea Paige & Skye MacKinnon
The first book in the Infernal Descent series re-imagining Dante's Inferno. I enjoyed the characters and the plot definitely looking forward to reading more. This story establishes the word, the characters, some of the internal relationships but stops short of anything drastic physically. Hell's Calling does for me what an entry in an anthology needs to do It makes me want to read more in the series. I want to know what happens to Ciera, Maro, (Cer)Beres, Plutus & Tris. 4.5 stars

Twisted by Amy Sumida
What a brilliant take on the Wizard of Oz. It just works for me, nothing feels out of place. The origins are obvious and the twists are so clean and logical. My full review of twisted

Inconceivable Origin by Chloe Adler
I read two chapters and stopped. I found the protagonist insufferable, she rubbed me completely the wrong way. Also, I have major issues with rape, I'm sure that there the author finds a way to write her way out of it (we are talking about magic here) but I can't do it.

On The Edge Of Forever by AJ Anders & Amanda Perry
WTH just happened? So much promise, so much build. It was so rushed at the end I got head spin. Actually, the story felt incomplete, there is nothing confirming the status of the story as a first or a prequel, it just ends. I was so happy reading the start of this. It has an interesting lore that the authors did their best to explain as briefly as possible. The men having a pre-existing relationship helped for succinct writing as they could talk among themselves rather than just to her. The protagonist is badass and her familial relationships are brilliant. but there end is disconcerting. It's still a 3.5/4 star story.

Eclipse by Angelique Armae
Bastet is a fave deity. I had to attempt to put aside some of my own issues to read this, I try to stay away from titles with any BDSM elements, even light ones. Spanking is part of the makeup of Eclipse. So this is an alright read if you don't mind your mythology being butchered. I liked the characters, to a degree I liked the lore but I cringed at the use of Egyptian mythology it just wasn't working for me. The truly appealing aspect of this story was the relationships, the reader meets the immortal daughter of Egyptian Goddess Bastet, Marcus the Lion, Lucius the Tiger and Horatio the Panther in present-day Manhattan but their relationship has existed since 30 B.C. It is an established, happy relationship. There are intimate moments with two of the three men but not the 3rd that was disappointing. 2.5

Queen Takes Jaguars by Joely Sue Burkhart
Absolutely gorgeous. So much sex positivity. I really loved the confidence and the owning of womanhood. I definitely made want to read more of the series (despite it having a different perspective). There is a whole scene in a hotel which is both hot as hell and emotionally devastating. I really liked the characters and the lore. (Full review is available here.) 4 stars.

Sovereign of Soul by Caia Daniels
3 chapters in I gave up. it didn't grab me and had done an awful job of explaining the lore and wtf was going on. Essentially it felt like a combination prequel and fanservice piece, despite only being a prequel. The series does have an interesting basis for the harem creation though.

Ugly Magic by May Dawson
This is one of the stories I skipped for no real valid reason. I stopped 4 chapters in one day and didn't pick it up for about 5 weeks. By which point I was completely lost and it just made more sense to skip it.

At Water’s Edge by LA Kirk & Lyn Forester
To me At Water's Edge is more a journey of self-discovery than a typical reverse harem, it feels like it's more about her than her relationship with them. The ending is just gorgeous. The story is quite self-contained. There is a lack of explanation that didn't detract from the enjoyability, I get the feeling there is some serious lore in play. I really like the portrayal of the neriads is perfect, they are quite bratty, teenage girl. 4 stars

My Soul To Keep by Jackie May
A nicely written, pleasant story with lovable characters in an interesting setting. The protagonist is window-able, she is quite easy for you to see yourself in. Fairy-tale but in the best possible way. A shared trait to Her Big Bad Wolves by Margo Bond Collins with day by day dating to try and choose a man. 4 stars

Blinded Beauty by Cecilia Randell
Odd, not bad just odd, it wasn't gripping for me. Blinded Beauty makes decent use of fantasy themes. it doesn't get bogged down in the in the lore it just gives you tid bits. Polyandry relationship is a non-issue is just happens, which works well. I quite like the characters though. 3 stars

Indebted to the Vampires by Erin Bedford
I skipped this one. I just couldn't. it's short the synopsis just didn't appeal. I can see a way to make it not dangerous but it would be difficult.

Moon Academy by Catherine Banks
Again the skipped because the premise really didn't appeal. It is possible it might have worked but by the time I got to Moon Academy I was done. I might come back to the 4 (?) I missed but I don't know.

Demon In Distress by A. E Kirk
Demon in Distress is a definite book one, or possibly the working base for a book one. It just comes to a dead stop. After reading it I felt like it shouldn't be in here, I really hope they publish it stand alone. It is a dissatisfying end to the collection. It isn't awful but it does just stop with a clear indication of the future direction. I didn't enjoy it, I did enjoy See No Evil which faces the same issues. 2 stars.

I only bought this collection for her story..... I’ve read or
researched all the writers here,actually read most of them ,and I either out right hated what I read or didn’t enjoy
their work enough to try again......
I don’t enjoy saying that but a few still bother me on how just how bad a time I had w/them....
But I love Ms.Sumida’s “godhunter” series and at times I’ve enjoyed her “Twilight Court “ and Spellsinger” series soo I had to come and see “Twisted” ...... Heck with that title and her love for putting her own spin on literary classics I HAD to see what Twisted is..
“Twisted “ is a interesting take on “The Wizard of Oz”....
While I enjoyed Ms.Sumida’s take on reimagining Oz,and the way she stuck to the bones of the story but of course definitely gave it her own twisted twist, it fell decidedly short of the great potentials just know this story has .....

I dearly loved the idea and the concept for this story the witches, the consorts everything but this fell soo short for me,it felt like there were soo many things this story needed to accomplish, things it needs tell, soo many boxes that needed to be checked off in order for this to be a full and complete story and it ended before that sadly was accomplished....

First we start with Dorothy or her “Oz” name of Dareaux ( and sadly even growing up in Louisiana where ppl down in the Southern half tend to add “aux” to a lot of words due to their Cajun roots I believe like “Geaux” as in say “Geaux Tigers 🐯!”
Or Go Tigers 🐯! I never could figure out how her name was probably pronounced) and we start traditionally during a tornado in Kansas ,with “Aunty Em and our h and her dog Toto ( sounds much cuter as an alaskan malamute than what ever the dog is in the classic Judy Garland movie ) ( btw side note Toto is another part of the story that seemed to fail in his role in the story,... Toto was such a story constant I felt his role and importance would turn into more than it did ... while he does play a role in a climactic scene at the end it was nothing compRed to what I’d thought or hoped it would be) and Dorothy is of course is quickly sent to Oz....

Once there she find out she has family there she thought she’d never see or meet and that Oz of course needs her to help save it from a wicked and power hungry wizard and sadly some family members are aiding him and they all must be stoped...
Now in this Oz while full of all sorts of interesting and magical creatures, has four main elemental witch tribes air,water,earth and fire 🔥,Air from with Dare comes being the strongest because it’s the smallest consisting only of Dare’s family ,of which she has to fight....
The bulk of the story revolves around Dare traveling to the other three witch tribes and getting them to come together with her to band against the Wizard and his cohorts and of course gaining a consort from each....
Sadly with this being a short story she only gets to really spend some time alone with her first man and while I enjoyed their beginning interactions with each other, it seemed I was barely starting to feel their connection when others were being added and it felt lost to me....
And that’s a big no huge part that failed for me,while the conclusion to this story felt like it just kinda fizzled out w/a soft “pop” after 18 chapters of build up for what I’d thought would be a bit battle scene,what failed the most was the RH od this RH themed story....
Can you truly feel or do or build a true or proper or compelling RH in a short story format ?
I don’t know but so far for me this is say No! Not you can’t ...
At least not that I’ve seen....
Dare spends little to NO time alone w/her men, so forget feeling any individual connections,and while some interesting quirks are mentioned w/some on the men in their likes or dislikes or proclivities, their all frustratingly wasted because almost all of her relationships are little tell and almost no show...
There is ONLY one sex scene and not that much happens and it’s not very memorable at all ....
My opinion is fleshed out as a full and complete story this has the chance to be amazing ! But as it is ? It’s just a rather interesting idea 💡 that even the words “ The End” it doesn’t feel finished or even remotely complete ...

Ps. I saw when I was looking up details for this story , i.e. how you spell Dareaux,I saw there is another story called “Twisted: a fairy tale mash up” ..
I might just check it out....

Taking a smoke break outside of Ichor, the blood bank/brothel where she works, Sydney heads back inside to the dressing room to change into her costume. Her first client, Jerome, had no expression on his face; as if in a trance, he repeated things she asked him. When he suddenly woke up in bed, he had no idea where he was or what happened. Strange. She walked down the stairs and a vampire, Niall, had two of her co-workers begging for his attention. But he chose Sydney and she reviewed her rules with him. Apparently Sydney didn’t know who the vampire was, and he enjoyed the anonymity.

After Niall left, she thought over the number of “firsts” he had managed to reach with her! She had even enjoyed being with him. Then the madam came in and gave her the large tip he had left for her.

She was done for the night and left Ichor, only to have a drunk try to force her go back in with him. When she refused, she ended up face down on the sidewalk as he attacked her. A woman named Maggie came to her aid and he ran off. But she had to take Sydney to the hospital to treat a nasty facial wound and broken nose. Maggie, her new friend and rescuer, waited to drive her home. Finding Sydney’s apartment very disgusting and unlivable, she told Sydney she had an extra room, lived with her wealthy boyfriend, and was taking Sydney home with her. And to her surprise, Maggie’s boyfriend is Sydney’s client, Jerome! In a single night, Sydney has interacted with three different men who will change her life. How will she handle this new situation? How did it happen? And how will the men adapt to the abrupt change in their own futures now?

This was a wonderful book with a strong, confident, likable female character the reader will enjoy getting to know. The story line is strong and well-paced, with a touch of mystery to be solved. All of the books in this collection are really good reading. With all of these book choices, you just can’t go wrong!

Must buy must read

See no devils-excited story where Mc thinks her entire life she is crazy, until a blind man finds her and travels through portals with her, telling her she is a goddess. Could not stop ready can't wait to find out what happens.

Light the fire- is a prequel to The Elemental Dragon series and explains how the Priestess of the fire room came about and how her mates were chosen. Truly enjoyed this story cuz it explained about the Priestess her wonderful for men and how she was related to the fire dragon.

Her big bad wolves- a girl finds out she inherited a werewolves bar, she has been named alpha pack leader, she needs to choose a mate or and the biggest thing ever.... that werewolves are real and she is one. This story journeys on her dealings on this information and trying to decide on a mate from 3 guys but why choose right.

Fifth soul-i loved the story truly laughed throughout the book and connected with the characters. I also enjoyed how a female was added into the harem and how the guys interacted with her and called her a mate-sister

Twisted of Fairy Tail mashup - I was a little worried about the story because in the blurb it says it's a mix between Little Red Riding Hood and three little pigs. However as a red two-story surprise only it flowed very well and kept me intrigued and interested to find out what happens all the way up to the end. Are female main character heads on her way 2 her grandmother's house on the way she runs into a boar shifter, and he explains that her grandmother has been kidnapped by wolves and he can help her find them. From there on the story gets intriguing definitely will be read this again.

Ravens falls- Explains how muninn Odin black raven of memory came about her shifting and her 3 compains. Also explains how her betrayal to Odin and who and how she makes the promise to turn Odin over. This story truly shows her human traits and helps us understand her more.

Hells calling- amazing so wrapped up in the story that I was mad it ended. Girl makes a deal with Lucifer to keep her sister safe. Her sister ends up being taking to hell and now she travels with a wolf an angel and the three-headed Hellhound to try and save her sister. Truly cannot wait for book 2.

Queen takes jaguar- speaks about how mayte called her blood found her jaguar god and how her search to have a daughter happen. Truly love the vampire queen and queen takes knight series.

Every story were truly amazing so glad I purchased the book and will definitely be rereading this for tome to come.

So many stories!

Realms and rebels

See no devils: 4 Star- fast action. I’d love to see this fleshed out a bit more, but maybe it will be (hopeful looks!). A MC that’s a bit disbelieving and snarky, and I hope learns to trust more. There are questions that need answers, and a couple soul mates that need to explain themselves a bit more. Can’t wait for the rest of the story!

Lights the fire: 5 Star- oh yes!!! I’ve never read Elizabeth Briggs books before, but I think I’ve found a new author to read up on!!! Dragons, gods, sexy sex, fire and heat! Short but oh so very sweet.

Her big bad wolves- 5 Star- ok, another author I’m going to have to devour! Although it’s just the first loser of the story, it is so well written. Margo draws you in with her words then seizes you and makes you crave more. Werewolves and fairies and heat!

Fifth soul- 4 stars- so this isn’t exactly my type of book. However, that won’t stop me from giving it 4 stars. The writing for a short novella like this is good. The story and characters have some depth which can be hard in something short like this. I am not a fan of girl on girl, but again, the writing is good.

A nightmarish mystery- 3 stars- I was not a fan of this short story. Maybe it’s because it’s set between other stories, but I didn’t like it. It was so very confusing, set in dreams. It bounced around too much for me, and I had a hard time following. On the other side, it WAS well written, it had details and held some interest. I may go check out the series it is set in, but not as a first choice.

Twisted: A Fairytale Mashup- 4 stars- I love love love this concept! Things get a bit confusing at times, and I had to reread to understand where I was in the story, but over all I like the book. I’ve heard it will be a full length book, and I absolutely cannot wait to see how it expands!

And I will finish the rest of the books at a later time (a new book came out I’ve been dying to read, just have to read it first!)

Review of Hell's Calling by Bea Paige and Skye Mackinnon

This book just grabbed my attention right from the first page and I couldn't put it down till I'd finished it. I should have known better than to start reading a book by Bea Paige when I went to bed but at least it wasn't a school night!
I have not read anything by Skye Mackinnon until now but I mean to rectify that soon. I have, on the other hand, read all of Bea Paige's books (the Sisters of Hex series and The Brothers freed series)and loved them so was eagerly anticipating this series. It was everything I'd hoped for, and more.
Ciera is an incredibly strong heroine - smart, smart-mouthed, determined and fearless. She is a good person who is forced to do bad things, all to look after and protect her little sister. When her sister is snatched by Lucifer, nothing will stop Ciera from getting her back and so she journeys to Hell. She meets and is aided by three supernatural men, who are all drawn to her and she to them. Bea and Skye have written the three as very different characters who all have hidden depths and secrets. We learn a little about their history, just enough to whet the appetite for more of these intriguing men. The way that the three just stare at Ciera, mouths agape or in awe or wonder, gives me the impression that there is more to Ciera than meets the eye so I am waiting to see if I am right. The descriptions of the levels of Hell are so detailed, it feels as though you are there with Ciera. I admit it, I am completely hooked.
I know the premise of RH is "why choose" but I can't help it, I always have a favourite and this book is no different. Not telling who but I do love me an angel!
I am so looking forward to the rest of this series. I know it will only get better. Get in on the action today, you won't regret it.

Every once in a while a “sure bet” anthology comes along. It’s a sure bet because it has several authors that have uniformly produced books I’ve loved so there is no worry about whether or not there will be enough “good stuff” in its contributed stories. Realms and Rebels is just such an anthology - on steroids. It doesn’t just have a few “sure bets” but instead contributions by 8 authors that fall into this category: Elizabeth Briggs, Margo Bond Collins, Laura Greenwood, LC Hibbett,NM Howell, Eva Chase, Chloe Adler, and Erin Bedford (plus several other authors’ stories that I expect will also be good based on the company kept). I’ve read two of the contributions so far. The first of these is LC Hibbett & NM Howell’s A Nightmarish Mystery. This is a stand-alone bonus story to their wonderful Cats, Ghosts, and Avocado Toast series a totally fun slow-bun reverse harem with a wonderful lead character in Price Jones. For fans of the series this is pure catnip. For newcomers is still total fun. I’ve also read Eva Chase’s Raven’s Fall in which Norse god Odin sends Muninn - raven of memory - to the realm of fire in a new human body. She is then aided by three human yummies ... err, I mean guys ... and pure reader enjoyment ensues. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises about his anthology. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that it is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the remaining “sure bet” stories and trying out the others.

This collection is the perfect start to many different series by all of the authors. Of course I bought the collection because there were so many of my favorite authors in it and I wanted to see what was in store for new series coming from them.

The following are my top favorite of the entire collection in no particular order:
Her Big Bad Wolves - I was happy to see a new book by this author, I have been so busy clearing out my TBR list that some of my favorite authors have lacked my reading, there is just not enough hours in the day to read what I want to read. I can not wait to see what is in store for the rest of this series.

Fifth Soul- Being a gamer this one touches me on a personal level, where can I get me three sexy shifter gamers for a harem? I love how Lola found her mates while attending a gaming competition and how one of her mates was someone she never expected.

Hell's Calling - This is the first time I have read anything from the author Bea Paige but I have read almost all of Skye MacKinnons books. This series will be a definate read for me as I throughly enjoyed it. I was drawn in from the first scene of this book and could not put it down.

Twisted - I love this author's Godhunter series so I knew I would enjoy this book. The twist on The Wizard of Oz was epic, so many different feels ran through me as situations went by. I will be reading the rest of this series once it is out.

Inconceivable Origin - This is my first read into this world and I will be reading more of it. Sydney is an interesting character and I enjoyed her moments with the guys that are to be part of her harem.

Indebted to the Vampire- As always I enjoy this authors books!! This story is a quick read with a side of sass. It was enjoyable to watch Piper realize the truth on what her new bosses really were.

This was a sweet story. Nice characters and different storyline.

Hell's Calling - SKYE MACKINNON writing with BEA PAIGE
This is an amazing story. The characters and storyline engage to completely. Recommended

Twisted - AMY SUMIDA
This is an alternate Wizard of Oz story. Not bad a story.

I read Inconceivable Origin, by Chloe Adler, and this is my voluntarily given review.
After reading thousands of paranormal romance stories I feel like the plots start to run together. "Well except for the names, and a few other changes..." the story remains the same one...Yes, I quoted Neil Diamond there. Now that I've gotten that out of my head, I can tell you about this story without giving away any of the details. This story was refreshing. It had characters like none I have seen in any of the paranormal romances, even the dark and dirty ones, that I have ever read. Sydney was more street wise than most of the characters I've found. I know, there are a lot of street smart female characters in books, but not like this one. Sydney is harder. She has this though shell around her and a very intense I-don't-give-a-f - attitude. This was evident on the very first page, and it made me instantly sit up and take notice. In comparison, Nial seemed softer somehow. He has a carefully guarded heart, and he is the one who is going to be in control, but he seemed to actually care about Sydney from the beginning. There is a lot more to this one; more characters, a dramatic story line, surprises, and a lot of heat, but I'm going to let you discover all of those wonderful things for yourself. I highly recommend this one.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Piper has already lost too many jobs. Now that she was given one last chance to serve as a maid in a mansion full of spoiled rich brats, she can´t afford to give up and lose this job as well - otherwise, she will be doomed. Putting on a brave face, she swallows her pride and works hard, fully aware of her debt thanks to a broken vase. But the mansion holds many secrets, and Piper´s attraction to her employers does not help a tiny bit.
Entertaining and fairly quick read, this paranormal romance is a relaxing read that promises more to come in the future installments. We were just acquained with the six brothers living in the mansion, with their distinctive features and personalities. Getting insight into Piper´s background and her nature helps the reader understand how she´s gotten herself into this dire situation, and it is no surprise it calls for trouble. I would like to know how much deeper she can get into this whole mess, and how will she eventually manage a way out.

So I read See No Devils by C.M. Stunich and A Nightmarish Mystery by L.C. Hibbett and N.M. Howell. As there are 33 Novellas in this series It's going to take me awhile to read them all so I am posting my review on these two and will read the others if I want at my leisure. So I really enjoyed See No Devils and give that one the 4 stars. I found it to be different then what I normally read and very entertaining. I really want the second book out now so I can continue reading the series.
A Nightmarish Mystery I did not like. I have read the other two books in this series and really enjoyed them but I felt this novella did not believe in the series at all. I felt it completely out of place of the series. I do hope the authors go back to the other books are written and not continue like this. I only give this novella 2 stars.

On the Edge of Forever
I'm a fan of both of these authors, so I was pretty excited to see them teaming up for a book. I enjoyed the story, Remy is awesome. It was funny with a little romance.

At Water's Edge
Lyn Forester has a way of creating worlds that are so unique and interesting you can't help but get lost in them. So to see that she and LA Kirk collaborated on a book together I was excited to say the least. This story is about Thelsa, a sea nymph who meets a few mortal men who she falls in love with. She must decide whether to give up her immortal life in the sea to be with her loves or to stay with her sisters and live forever without her men. Her sisters were a bunch of jerks in my opinion and you don't really get to know the men all that well. This story is more about Thelsa and what she wants to do with her life.

I didnt read all of them tbh, just a select few. From the reviews i read, i only preferred to read the ones that seemed really good.

Light the Fire: it was ok, liked the story but not that amazing tbh

Twisted- Amy Sumida; loved it! Very interesting take on the Wizard of Oz. seriously reminded me or Avatar: the legend of Aang and Korra, with all the witch tribes with control of the elements and all the tech in the “fire nation” and the land and imagery described. Loved that!

My soul to keep: absolutely loved this one!! Loved how sensible and non whiny the h was!! Loved all the Hs!! Especially Cyrus!! What a giant teddybear!!

Prequel to fangers furries and fruitflies: cant wait to read whatever comes next! Made me laugh! Remy is a walking disaster! But it did annoy me how long it took for the h to meet the alpha and for the H’s to realise Remy was the one!!

I read At Water's Edge and On the Edge of Forever.

At Water's Edge ~ This was a quick, cute little story. It was nice to read about a nereid for a change of pace from the usual fantasy and supernatural creatures you come across in books. You are given a bit of background on the characters which is nice. The relationship progress is fast which suits the story fine. Overall it was a pleasant read.

On the Edge of Forever ~ I greatly enjoyed this story! I found it funny at parts and the character interactions were fun! Who knew one character could bring such chaos to do many others! I would love to learn more about everyone's background and see how they all progress in the story. I definitely look forward to reading more!

Indebted to the Vampires- Erin Bedford: I loved this quick story. It was sexy with a side of sassy. Piper seemed a bit naive when it came to what her new bosses really were, but it made her finding out the truth more enjoyable to me. I really hope that this is the beginning to a series because I can tell it is really going to be awesome.

Twisted - Lena Mae Hill: I really enjoyed getting to visit the Three Valleys again. Cayenne had a really odd way of finding her collective but I enjoyed the journey. Once you add in that this is a mash up of two different fairy tale's it make it even more interesting.. I loved getting to meet all the guys and their different personalities helped make this even more interesting. This was a really great read.
