Twelve years ago, young Diana's heart was broken when her father ended her illicit romance with commoner, Tom Cole.
Now a young widow, Diana is chaperoning Charlotte, her shyer and younger sister, through her Season, determined she will at-least marry for love. When Charlotte receives a coveted invitation to the Dowager Viscountess Ransome's house party, Diana quickly accepts.
Arriving at the Dowager's idyllic countryside manor, Diana comes face to face with Tom Cole, now a wealthy American and house guest of the Dowager.
A second chance seems to be in the air, but first the pair must navigate a web of treachery and matchmaking counterplots fashioned by the other guests.
Amanda wrote her first romance at the age of sixteen--a vast historical epic starring all her friends as the characters, written secretly during algebra class (and her parents wondered why math was not her strongest subject...)
She's never since used algebra, but her books have been nominated for many awards, including the RITA Award, the Romantic Times BOOKReviews Reviewers' Choice Award, the Booksellers Best, the National Readers Choice Award, and the Holt Medallion. She lives in Oklahoma with a menagerie of two cats, a Pug, and a very bossy miniature Poodle, along with far too many books.
When not writing or reading, she loves taking dance classes, collecting cheesy travel souvenirs, and watching the Food Network--even though she doesn't cook.
This was a lighthearted read mainly set in a house party. Diana had thought she had found the love of her life with Tom Cole when she was sixteen but unfortunately things didn’t work out as she planned. She meets Tom twelve years later at her aunt’s house party. They still have a connection but will it be enough? There are a mix of personalities at the party, not all want what is best for everyone. I found this to be an enjoyable read. I received a copy from eBooks Discovery and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Having been torn apart by her domineering father, the sweet young pair never forgot one another nor that they were soulmates regardless of time or the continents separating them. Meeting again after twelve years and with much water under the bridge, they can still read one another's feelings. However, there are others conspiring to trap them into advantageous matches for their purses rather than their hearts and they definitely muddy the waters. But that isn't the only romance in this book. There are two other young couples finding their way with one another, discovering that sometimes opposites do attract, whilst behind it all there is one dear elderly aunt pulling the strings like an expert marionette master, cheerfully watching her plans come together. This clean second chances Regency romance all the ingredients for a good book, with just enough drama to satisfy the reader and it comes to a happy conclusion for all parties. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
A Tangled Web (Lessons in Temptation Series Book 3)
The love story of Diana and Tom. When Tom and Diana were young they fall in love but she was a rich man's daughter and he poor. Her father had him remove from his land and send away. She marry a Lord and he when to the American. Now he back and rich and she a widow. Can they find love and happiness again? Great story.
A Tangled Web is a cute historical romance with multiple couples at a house party. The story is a pleasant diversion. Some of the couples become intimate, but the book only suggests as much and is fairly clean.

A sweet Regency romance that will make you sigh! They were forced apart when young and followed the path they had to. A houseparty brings them back into orbit. Well written with a tinge of humor. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This is my honest review.
Love the house party scene, trust it to end up in at least one marriage! A story of past lovers back together and opposites attract tropes. Very entertaining!
I bought this in the hope that, as the last in this series, it would be worth the premium price I paid (see my review for book 2). Oh well, it was a nice thought...
