Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: Lost in the Nether: An Unofficial Minecraft Adventure by Cube Kid is the story of Eeebs, a kitten with the superpower of monsters in the world of Minecraft.
When Eeebs plays with two other kittens in the forest, got lost and find himself in the land of monsters, the Nether, who want to attack his world.
Eeebs Adventure began, he should warn his people, protect his family and friends, learn more about his new powers and find a specific villager to help.

This was my second book in Minecraft world by Cube Kid and Narrated by Michael Gallagher, funny and entertaining.

Many Thanks to Andrews McMeel Audio and NetGalley for the ARC, I have given my honest review.

3.5 (but I'm rounding up) :]

Set in the world of Minecraft, this unofficial Minecraft novel starts off with Eeebs playing hide-and-seek with two other kittens. One of his friends claims to have the greatest hiding place and will never be found. Eeebs travels farther than he ever has from home in order to find his friends, only to find himself having entered the Nether against his own mother's warnings of such a place.

The writing is very simple, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is cute and accessible for younger readers (perhaps grades 1-4). I personally would like more vocabulary or sentence variety. Not only do children love the Minecraft, but adults too. Also using more sentence variation is a strong sample for younger readers. Writing style aside, the format is very unique. The pages are in color and feature a background of a Minecraft ground cube and various words and phrases are sometimes underlined or appear in different sizes, fonts, and colors to point out various things to the reader. I also really like how there are visuals with this novel. Almost every page (with a few exceptions) has a Minecraft-reminiscent image that shows just what is going on in the world without the author necessarily having to delve into too much imagery. I don't think I will read other unofficial Minecraft novels, but this was cute nonetheless. (Received from NetGalley for an honest review).

This have me idea!

I liked it and I got an question... Am I allowed to be chosen as the fifth champion (champion of the end)? Plz? And is he going to get powers of the End? Also I'm almost finished with my character. I've been trying to perfect him. Also I hope I get to be the champion of the End. Or not IDC. But I really hope so. And also I made other book reviews. And also plz add cowboy class for magic crowd control. Or a new class like Slicing Hood with better bonuses to melee Atk and SPD with quick weapons like rapier or katana. Also support with weak bomb that can buff with regen on allies and DMG enemies. And also,Can you add, A doglike race or humans with dog blood, similar to lupins or wolfkin. And one more thing... Can we interact with the protagonists? But overall I was impressed with where the book was going, and also I first read it in 4th grade through epic! This is interesting and I hope to see more of this. It makes books look interesting.

I read this as part of a challenge to read a book recommended by Gen Z. It was complete brain-rot as the kids say these days... Best use of this book would be as a lure to get a tablet/computer kid away from a screen and into a book. There is no educational value but at least they would be reading and working on literacy.

When I brought up the lack of substance in this book to my resident Gen Z, I was advised to "respect the culture." At least I completed the challenge. It was still better than Prince Harry's memoir.

Book Review of Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten One: Lost In The Nether
By Grace, age 9, 6/20/20
Once upon a time there was an 8-bit kitten named Eeebs who was a Minecraft kitten. (I have at least a million of them.) He was a naughty kitten. He never listened to his mother except when she said "Go eat salmon." One day he was playing in his forest with his best friends Tufty and Meowz. They were playing hide-and-seek, but he couldn't find either of them. Then it started raining, like it is right now. He got chased by wolves into a nether-portal. And now "stories would spread among the villages. Stories of a strange kitten with blue fur and violet eyes. He hadn't listened to his mother. He had ventured into the Nether." (He was a black and white kitten like normal before.) Then he found out that an Enderman named Enderstar (who is totally copying Warriors, by Erin Hunter) who wanted to take over Eeebs' world. Anyhow the Nether granted him special abilities like all of the mobs: for example he could climb up walls and shoot fireballs. He met a group of good mobs in a cave in the Nether. He went to a Nether-fortress. They thought he was a blue magma-cube. Weird stuff happened. Eventually he went back to the overworld and looked for his family. He found Tufty and Meowz. Enderstar never actually got anywhere until the end of the second book. He met Breeze and Runt who are villagers. A lot of the villagers were scared of him. That's really pretty much the end of this book.
I liked this book. It was a good book. I like cats. In my Minecraft world I have at least a million. (Mom's note: this is an example of Hyperbole. If there were really a million cats in Grace's Minecraft world, the processor would never be able to keep up. It would grind to a halt, and the whole thing would crash .) ($_$)

"Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: Lost in the Nether" is an awesome book by Cube Kid. Like the other books by Cube Kid, it is full of awesome illustrations and adventure. Naughty Eebs runs into the nether, disregarding his mother's warnings. There he meets many monsters that he never knew, including a ghast named Clyde. They make history when Clyde makes friends with Eebs. Ghast's supposedly are always sad... cruel creators. Then he turns into a warrior cat. Eebs goes on to find out a army from the Nether is attacking the overworld, finds a wither skeleton stuck on a single block above a lava ocean, and comes to a city of good monsters where he learns about her purpose. Great book for anyone who loves Minecraft

You don’t have to read the other 8 Bit Warrior books to understand what is going on in this book, but it might b helpful to read them first.

Eeebs isn’t a very disciplined kitten. His mom warned him not to play in the forest, but he didn’t listen. His life lesson in this book is that you should not go to places that you don't know anything about, without doing any research about them.

If you like Minecraft and action, this is a good book for you, because this takes place in the plains of Minecraft, and it involves the mobs of Minecraft. There are chase scenes.

This is in the same format as the other Diary Of An 8 Bit Warrior books; it is kind of hard to read because of the made up-words

A very simple book with dialogue that sounds like YouTubers, this isn’t my kind of read. But my son really liked it. Finding stuff that interests him is a challenge and this fit it. The story is interesting and is full of opportunities for him to know what they are talking about.

Not the most memorable book, but it is exactly what it tries to be: a young readers book for Minecraft fans. And it does that well.

The story is very interesting and narrated wonderfully by Michael Gallagher.

It gives me "Warriors" by Erin Hunter (Cats) vibes with a mixture of Minecraft.

I like how descriptive and detailed it is when listening to the audio book as I am able to exactly imagine this curious kitten's, Eeebs, adventures in the Nether.

The story flows at an easy to listen to and smooth pace.

I am enjoying Eeebs adventure in the Nether.

MY THOUGHTS:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve been a fan of Cube Kid’s series, “Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior,” for a while now, having reviewed a few of his books over the last year. Cube Kid is a pen name for Erik Gunnar Taylor, who’s a born and raised Alaskan. As a gamer and fan fiction fanatic, it’s no wonder the Minecraft series was a work of genius that has reached global acclaimed.

Fast-paced action, and filled with colorful illustrations, “Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten” will keep readers hooked right to the very end. I’m waiting to see either a movie or a new video game series come out of all Cube Kid’s hard work.

The illustrations are unique and different, reminding me of the Minecraft game graphics (duh!) and are fun and compliment the story vibe immensely.

This is a new series with new adventures. I recommend that you give it a try and see if this is something that appeals to you. Note: I was not a huge graphic novel reader until this and a few other series became popular enough to grab my attention. Now, I’m hooked “Like a fish swinging in the breeze!”

Okay that was lame.

Title: Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten: Lost in the Nether
Author: Cube Kid
Format; Audio
Narrator: Michael Gallagher
Genre: Children’s fiction, adventure
Standalone: Nope, ends quite abruptly with a ti be continued in the next installment
Part of a Series: Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten book 1
POV: Eeebs the kitten, Eldra the Witch
3/5

I have a confession. I’ve never played Minecraft. Don’t know much about the game except that it’s hugely popular. I do know about RPGs and how these systems work despite not being a gamer.

I got this book because it seemed like it would be fun and different and a break from my normal reads. And overall it is a fun adventure that actually felt like a game. I got a little bored when game play (such as inventory, health and leveling up) was explained but it was definitely useful and a cute way for Eeebs learning about his new powers.

I liked the format of the story told in diary/journal format. It was super cute. I also think it have lost some of its creativity in the audio format as it sounds like there may have been some pictures accompanying some parts of this story. Michael Gallagher did a great job with creating distinctive voices and making this story a fun listening experience. I would hace given this tale 4 stars but the abruptness of the ending with no actual ending made me drop it down a star.

I received this audiobook for free from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Not what I normally read, but this illustrated chapter book based on the popular Minecraft game was my 11-year-old's pick for our read-aloud together. He really enjoyed it, and I think this series is a great option to engage kids who love gaming but maybe not reading. The illustrations look like they are lifted directly from Minecraft, and the story is well-enough written to hold interest. It's pretty good fan fiction, if not great literature. I did think a few of the characters introduced in the second part of the book were hard to keep track of, but this is the introduction to a series, so perhaps more development is in the future. I've been told that we'll be sharing the next two adventures as read-alouds, too, so stay tuned!

So, this is a must have for our library. We have a huge minecraft fan base here and our kids LOVE these. I absolutely love the changes in text, both size and color; good old cognitive dissonance to make sure the kids are paying attention. I love how it encourages kids to step out of the game and use their imaginations to create their own stories. I feel like this sets a great example for kids, why not write fun stories about the games you love?! I play minecraft with my 10 year old son so I love how involved it is with the game, these are things that we can do or attempt to do in our minecraft world! So glad I got a chance to read this and I can't wait for our copy to arrive!

Sometimes as a parent, I reach a point where maintaining my grip on sanity requires not talking about Minecraft for a few hours. Though we started Cube Kid's tales as independent reading for my older kids, my little one enjoyed listening to me read this one at bedtime and surprisingly I did not hate it. In fact I am sad to have finished the story because it actually did a great job making me drowsy enough to fall asleep quickly and it was a nice break from reading to my kiddo about his favorite dinosaurs.

Tales of an 8-bit Kitten by Cube Kid is a nonfiction book where the story takes place in Minecraftia. Eeebs is an average kitten in an average world. But then soon realizes that will not be safe that much longer. Eeebs travels to the nether and finds out that EnderStar, the enderman, is making a large army to take over the nether, the end, and Eeebses home town. Eeebs was chosen by the nether to stop EnderStar from taking over all of minecraftia.

Absolútne nečitateľné. Vety a slová často nedávali zmysel.

Lore wise, this expands the world of TOA8BW a lot and makes a lot of things make a lot of sense, but I wish that lore came up in the main story instead of a spin-off novel. It's also implied there will be a warrior from the end, like how eebs and their friends are warriors from the nether though they weren't from there moreso chosen, I guess, and Runt is the warrior of the overworld.

I think this just doesn't hold up to Diary of An 8-Bit Warrior, there's a lot happening, but I am curious to know what's next so I'll keep reading.

Happens in the same timeline/universe as the 8-bit Warrior books, and at least one scene overlaps so you see it from 2 points of view. I feel like this series gets a bit too technical in terms of game stats and how rankings/classes work in the game. Might be interesting to a 10 year old? But makes it drag/feels like filler and had to skip over stuff to prevent the 6yo from losing interest.

In this book we follow a kitten named Eeebs. He was playing with other kittens when he gets lost. He finds himself in the Nether with awful monsters who want to attack and hurt people from his world. He finds his way back home and was able to warn everyone about the monsters. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoy reading books about Minecraft. This book was very enjoyable to read

I read this book in 3rd grade. To me, it was so awesome. It had a good story for a fanfiction. I read it again a few years later. I don’t know why I thought it was such a cool book anymore. Probably because “the chosen one” character trope is so overrated. But you get points for writing a story that is interesting for kids. …but not anyone older than 12

This book was okay. Some times there were parts that I didn’t understand or weren’t explained properly. I also didn’t like how the story came to an abrupt end. Other that is was a great book!

Was kind of fun. The French name for things were hilarious (Des wither squelettes? lol). The story absolutely does not resolves at the end... Probably would have DNF'd it if I'd known.

Read because it was a gift from cam. Will not continue the series.
