Not the funniest Simpson comic book I've read. The humor felt a bit old from time to time, like old used jokes. Some stories were really good but the overall is a bit disappointing.
I'm loving the collection, maybe it's not very objective because I'm a fan of the series but the books are very good. I hope you will continue every year to bring out a new one and do not stop as they have done with other collections.
Being a big Simpson’s fan, this compendium was a bit flat for me. I know they comics can be funnier and some of the conclusions left something to be desired in the humor department. For me there were too many superhero stories. As always I don’t believe there are enough stories focusing on my favorite character, Lisa Simpson. I did enjoy Brit Simpson, when the Simpson family meet the British version of Bart, and vice versa. I also enjoyed Drinker, Failure, Bowler, Spy- when Ned Flanders sets up a competing bar to Moe’s. However, the latter and the former stories weren’t enough to warrant more then an average rating for this Colossal Compendium volume 5.
Yes another fun entry into the world of Simpsons comics. It started out slow with the first two (which I rated under 3 stars each), but picked up with some really great ones in the middle and end (The MAD parody with actual entries from it including Star Drek, as well as some of the others: Ned’s Bar, Brit Simpson, the Nerds of Prey saving Bartman)
A 3.6/5 overall after my averaging but I’d bump it up to a 3.75 or even 4!
The fifth volume in the sought-after Simpsons Comics Colossal Compendium series is bursting with classic comic strips featuring everyone’s favorite family—The Simpsons.
