Will Adelina use the strength she was born with, or hide under her mask forever?
The Neprijat monsters have attacked the Draga System and millions have died. Prince Nash has left to save what’s left of his people. Adelina has a plan to save Draga, but first she must convince Raena to allow her to meet with the Drakesthai dragons and ask for aid before it’s too late.
But Adelina has a secret, and it's time to decide whether or not she will use the strength she was born with, or hide under the submissive mask she's worn all her life.
*This is a slow burn, steamy polyamorous space fantasy romance. There is some female/female bisexual romance.
I am really starting to understand the tag line “like game of thrones in space - without the incest” - it’s a space age soap opera with twists and turns aplenty!!
Emma Dean does it again. She turned my world on its head. Jasmine of Draga is the third installment in the Draga Court series, and let me tell you...that Emma Dean is a shifty character. For a good chunk of the book, everything moves really slowly. It's still interesting, as you're invested in the characters at this point, but there were few OMG moments...until you reach about 50%.
I have whiplash from my changing opinions on the various characters. I think I went back and forth on Veri at least 3 to 4 times in this book. Dean writes such complex characters that I can't help but push forward, even when my first instinct is to walk away for a bit. This book is full of startling revelations...so many I didn't see coming. I still don't know how I feel about a few things...like finding out Nadyah's mate. I think that the shift in their relationship is one of the saddest things in this book--and there's a lot of sad.
Betrayals abound, and Raena is up to her crazy shit, but you also find out who is truly loyal to Adelina. One revelation in particular shocked me so much, I had to take a second break to process that. Be prepared to have your mind blown as everything you thought you knew gets tossed into the air in this book.
Well I so did not see that coming which is all I can say without spoilers. Nice twist and now I have to read the next book. This war is really shaping up into something massive and the politics are astounding. Add amazing world building on top and you get a sci-fi story that is so hard to put down. I really liked is so I give it 4/5 stars.
This series has just captivated me. With each book I get entwined further and further with the lives of Adeline and her loved ones.
In this book we see Adeline start to spread her wings as she begins to accept her own nature more. She stands up for herself more and starts to show who she is underneath the submissive mask she has always hidden behind.
The aftermath of the fall of Treon has shaken everyone to their core and put pressure on everyone. It has stripped people back to their purest need to help their people survive.
Varan’s proposal to Adeline puts a strain on Adeline’s relationship with Nadyah, but we begin to see the depth of Varan’s loyalty to the people of Draga, and to Adeline in particular. Prince Nash may not have expected Varan to protect Adeline in quite this way, when he asked for his help in keeping her safe, but it seems that it is a good way to do it.
We also start to see more of the true nature of the rest of her family. The relationship with her brother Asher and Veri becomes more interesting as they develop deeper feelings for each other. Raena becomes more erratic and ruthless and Ian works himself to the bone in a last ditch attempt to save his father. We do not see much of Giselle and William in this book, but getting to see more of Asher and Ian is very interesting.
Emma Dean really has crafted an incredible story and once I started it, I have been unable to stop.
This series just gets better. Adelina continues to come into her own. The people she can rely on really step up. Varan made me so happy in this book and Asher and Veri only get better. Raena still did not endear herself to me and I'm not going to miss her. Alpha sucks and I'm so pleased with the way Asher handled him. The real letdown, though, was Giselle. What a bitch! I want Nadyah and Ian to come clean. Somehow, I saw that one coming. Draga has a new queen and now it's time for Adelina's mission. I hope we get to see Nash again soon.
Just me, back with my 3rd rant review of this series in 24 hours. I've never used the strikethrough format before, but this one deserves it.
I no longer despise reading Josslyn and Veri's POVs, but I stand by introducing side characters through their own POV chapters in book 1 is.. not great writing. There are other ways. They may take a little more thought, a little more finesse, but they existed. I actually have to go back and edit book 2's review and eat my words, because now that Veri isn't a power hungry maniac, just a normal maniac, I quite like her. I still don't understand why we got a Lucas POV all of one time when he could have just popped up on Draga Terra and explained everything.
Wow. This authors ability to completely turn the readers own loyalties around is astounding. The complexity of the characters make you love them at times and want to smack them. One second you decide to dislike a character because it seems like they are only out for their own personal gain and the next minute those same characters are evolving and changing your mind. I can’t say how happy I am that Adeline has slowly but surely turned herself into a freaking badass! She still has a long way to go but her strength is really amazing. Adeline and Varan? Yes freaking please! I was holding out for Nadyah and Varan but it seems like Adeline and Nadyah also so why not?! Why does it seem like Adeline’s family is out to freaking get her, what the heck is happening to her once happy family? Her old friends have also turned on her! I have a feeling these enemies are infiltrating much more than is told in the story. I feel Adeline’s passion for her people just wanting to help in the only way she is allowed. Not that she couldn’t or wouldn’t do more they just keep holding her down making her have to take action in the shadows! Not only that, does anyone else feel like Reina’s suicide was a little convenient I mean we know the enemy can influence the mind with such intensity that it was even mentioned a group of soldiers were told to lay down and die so they did just that. Why is no one pointing the finger in their direction. It seems pretty convenient that after the enemy king said he would take Adeline in marriage only after reina and Giselle were out of the way then bam Reina commits suicide....just saying it’s fishy.

Jasmine of Draga is a magnificent story of love with elements of suspense and action that kept me turning the pages. This is a roller coaster ride of emotions, brilliantly written. The author is a genius in the way she can construct such an amazing world, that is talent. A five star story that hooks you from beginning to the end, when you start reading, it's impossible to stop until the last page. One of the best books I've read lately and the best book so far in this series. I received this ARC as a gift and I am voluntarily submitting this review
This book was exceptionally devoid of substance. The book gave way too much time to very minute and pedantic things, which was 90% of the book. Just random nonsense that didn’t so much push forward the story but just made the world this is set in more ridiculous sounding. The plot points that should have mattered only got a couple pages and a very tepid response from everyone in the story. like the long dying and the queen’s sudden suicide. I think this is the last one of these I’ll be reading.

Sweet baby Jesus I didn't think that the series could get any better, but it DID!!! Adelina keeps growing as a person and a Dragan princess. Her transformation is amazing, and relationship shift, some into something more, or sometimes broken beyond repair. There are many twist in this may shock some of you. But its worth !!!
This book was faster paced and seemed to pack in so much more content. As the war begins the true colors of all the players really begin to come out. Emma truly captivated her audience with her skillful writing. The plot twists and turns leave you wanting more and more.
Things that every one should have in their lives. Sometimes life happens and gets in the way. This book gave allot of details of the royal life and what's behind closed doors. Not everyone is your friend. Not everyone sharing blood is family. Not everyone finds love or has love.
Wow the hits keep coming! Much faster pace than the last, it seems the books are accelerating at a breakneck speed with all the develops that keep happening. The waiting certainly is paying off. We get so many events and twists that shake up what we know is going on. And Adeline keeps drawing is into her web....
Working on writing my review now. It will be posted here after it has gone live on my blog, which won't happen until the books release. I enjoyed the turn the story took in this book however, and think that other fans will as well.
I just finished reading the 3rd book in this series and I am absolutely hooked! It was the best one yet. Filled with sex and romance, action and betrayal, mystery and suspense. I can't wait to dive into the next one!
This series has been incredible. So many twists and turns, getting to know the characters deeply, feeling their emotions, their joys and anger and heartbreak has been a fascinating ride!
The author conntinues her story of Adeline and the Draga court. The story is well written and keeps the reader engaged, wanting ro find out how the story rnds.
Congratulations, you both surprised me, and made me cry!
May the curse of 1,000 Neprijat be upon you XD
But seriously, I loved this and can’t wait for the next book!
I suspect foul play, and my suspicions suggest marriage documents and a broken promise for marriage agreement in exchange for information may have something to do with it...
Also, no. While I like new suitor, please bring back the Corinthian :P Also! The first chapter!! Please!!! No further intel for us on the result of that?!?!
Also, from the beginning I’ve had a soft spot for Prince Asher, but it’s grown to the point he is now my favourite character. Also, Veri has grown on me.
But seriously! Loved it! My second book is due to come out in a week though and it is NOWHERE near ready, so I need to get back to work on that. Also need to stop getting annoyed that The Last Jedi still hasn’t dropped for me yet, because I don’t have time to read it anyway!!!! (But I’ll do it regardless because Reylo. And Kylo Ren is bae)
But it was definitely worth my time pausing to read this! Loved it!
Another fantastic addition to this series. I absolutely love these characters and the emotion they and their story evoke. I'm truly in love with this story and it's adventure, intrigue, court politics, spies, tragedy, complex tangle of relationships and characters. I very much look forward to reading what Emma Dean has in store for them next.
