This series is really a struggle for me. While I did get a few laughs out of this one, Echo continues to prove how immature she really is. When the book started there was this abrupt shift from the end of book two. She asks Thorns father to alter reality and then witnesses the cluster f*ck her request was. Sometime after that and the start of this book, echo forgets it all. She believes this new reality and practically everyone is a douche In someway or another. The storyline with Asher were lame and goodness it was harped upon how much of a manwhore both he and thorn are. On that note at the end of book one, Echo sees thorn with an ex and a child at the end of the last book. I thought that would be her punishment, having to watch him happy and in love with someone else yet there was no mention of a child in this one. Just the whole thing is a mess. It’s a middle school (behavior-wise) soap opera and it’s just behind frustrating. I’ve made it this far, I will have to see how the next one plays out even with no end I’m sight for the series. I guess it’s kinda growing the RH path, but at a snails pace. By the end we’ve still only been introduced to three contenders and the author is surely being tricky on teenage hormones.

Wow, wow, and wow....This book left me speechless in such a good way.  Rue Volley has continued her journey with Echo and friends adding plot twists and turns that you could never imagine; and she does it with such grace, elegance, and fantasicalness (I know that is not a word, but this book calls for new descriptions).  This book delves deeper into the characters although we are still dealing with an altered reality and you fall in love even more with each throughout the story: flaws, fights, deceptions and all.  Echo continues to be the clumsy heroine who doesn't take herself too seriously and has those inner battles that we all face.  The love triangle continues to deepen and it is so hard to pick which team to be on.  This series continues to get better with each book and I wait with bated breath for the next installment.

Well I must admit I'm a little confused with this one. A lot of the humor has gone and alot of the characters didn't really seem like they were in the first two books. I'm not liking the romance and the guys involved are both just as bad as each other.

I...am...broken. Beaten, battered, bruised, torn apart...just BROKEN.
My heart is in my throat. There’s a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. What just happened??? I am sobbing, trying to slow my racing heart, but failing. What has Rue Volley done to me? She’s destroyed me!!!

What can I say about this story? Not much without spoiling it for people who haven’t read it yet. But those who have read it, you feel my pain don’t you? You know why I’m in a pit of despair? I know you do! How could you not?

This story was almost like starting all over again. It’s like how the story ‘could’ have been if Thorn Vega hadn’t come along and stolen Echo’s heart. Everything was different this time round. It was odd, trying to get used to the ‘new normal.’ I spent a while - I couldn’t say exactly how long - screaming that Echo couldn’t love Asher. I was more than slightly disgruntled at the fact she had such an undeniable crush on him. It crushed my heart because when Thorn first stole her heart in book 1, he also stole mine. No matter what happens in this series, I am a #TeamThorn girl through and through. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Asher is great. But Thorn is just... well he’s Thorn and that’s an explanation of its own.
The twists and turns in this story were nothing short of tumultuous. It had my insides all knotted up. I purposefully put the book down several times and walked away. I had to. I couldn’t finish it because I knew there was a cliffhanger coming that would blow my mind. Book 1 had one that tore me apart. So did book 2. So it stood to reason that book 3 was going to destroy me. That’s why I kept my reading pace slower than normal. I wanted to make it last longer. I’m known for my procrastination, but this was beyond even my normal.

I really need a friend who has read this book so I can scream and vent with someone who understands my pain. Anyone? Please? No? Okay, I’ll go and rock in a corner until July when book 4 comes out. Why oh why do I have to wait that long? And will book 4 mend my broken heart?

Anyway, to sum up how I feel, maybe you should refer back to the first sentence... I...am...broken!!!
If you haven’t read this series yet, you really need to. I started this series a long time after falling out of love with vampire books and paranormal in general. But now, I am in love with a certain vampire... I am not in love with the genre again, but Rue’s certainly made me fall in love, hard. I love her writing, how she evokes a whole load of battling emotions within me. I want to strangle her, I want to kiss her, I want to thank her for her stories. For keeping me hostage and leaving my emotions turned inside out. She is nothing short of amazing. I’ve read a lot of talented authors and Rue is now up there in my top 5 and I wonder to myself why I waited so long to start this series. The answer to that though, can be found in the cliffhangers she leaves me dangling with. I like having the next book in a series queued up and ready to go if I know it ends on a cliffhanger. Shame I haven’t got book 4 waiting. Instead I’m the one left waiting. Wanting. Needing. I need more Thorn. More Echo. More Asher. More everything that makes 13 Ways To Midnight one of my favourite series.

Anyway, off I go to wait for book 4. Rocking back and forth in a dark corner somewhere. See you on the flip side!

Omg! I’m obsessed with Echo! And all the others. I love getting lost in her story. Everything in her life seems perfect, buts it’s really just a blanket covering everything that is the truth. After asking eyota to take away her memories everything is just weird and screwed up. Echo can feel the wrongness, she just doesn’t know why. Soon everything will be revealed and people are going to hurt. Was it worth it? Definitely not.

This is the third book in The Midnight Saga. In book 2, Echo the protagonist begged Eyota Vega, the father of the boy shes loves Thorn Vega to erase her memories, to erase the pain of loving Thorn after he leaves her. Eyota complies and places a curse on Echo, but unbeknownst to Echo Thorns evil aunt Persephone tampers with the curse and basically turns Echo's life and the entire town upside down. The cute boy Asher that Echo started seeing is now her cousin, her twin Midnight who died in book one is now alive, Aunt Luna is no longer a witch. Through it all Echo is having dreams and visions of things she can't understand but that feel like vague, fleeting memories of another life.

Ms. Volley expertly captures the angst and awkwardness of being a teenager perfectly. Once again she weaves such a complex, yet believable tale. Her characters are incredible and she perfectly conveys their feelings and their pain to the reader. This book made me laugh and shake my head on many occasions as I could relate with the clumsiness and awkwardness of Echo falling on her face in front of the gorgeous guy or basically just falling without even walking! I was that teen girl! It also brought tears to my eyes and at times made me want to grab some of the characters by their collars and shake them.

In conclusion let me say that Ms. Volley can write a hell of a cliff hanger and with this one she probably ripped all her readers hearts out. I will be waiting with bated breath for book 4.
Bravo! Rue Volley!

Be careful what you WITCH for.....

What an amazing and wild journey this author has taken us on this time.

The characters in this story were phenomenal. Echo is such a strong character. She went through a lot of heartache and hardship in this story. Echo's feelings seem to just flow off of the pages and into my heart as I continued to read this story. I could completely connect with this character and what she went through. I am also still in love with the rest of the characters as well.

The story-line was incredible and completely mind blowing. This author took us all on a fantastic ride that I was not expecting. This story crossed new bounds in this author's style of writing and I loved every single minute of it. This is a twisted and fun read that left my heart and mouth open. I was mesmerized by all the events that went on. This is a magical story and I highly recommend it but I do suggest reading books 1 and 2 before reading this story to understand what happens during this story.

OMG! Never have I screamed so vehemently at fictional characters. 13 Ways to Midnight is a total mind warp. Book 3 is gut wrenching! Rue Volley ripped out my heart, stabbed it with a hot poker, and then ground it to dust with the heel of her boot. I am 100% Team Asher so having him and Echo as faux cousins was cruel and unusual. And that ending! OMG THAT ENDING! Volley may have a mutiny on her hands with me as the ring leader.

I'm sure as a reader you are wondering how I can continue this series since I find it so heart wrenching. Simple. The feels. I feel everything Echo goes through. Rue Volley has created these flawed characters that you can't help but to fall in love with. I love everything about this series. The death. The heartbreak. The love. I feel it all. I highly recommend this series!

What a ride! Damn spell has everything backwards, wonky, and upside down. I couldn't wait for the curse to be broken and all this heartbreak and wrongness to go away! I read so much of this while rubbing my forehead and saying, "oh man." Tho it was nice to have a certain character around, I don't think the trade was worth all the bad that came with it. Tho some of their scenes were so awkward, it's like "she" knew and was dropping weird hints about it, same with Asher. Once this series is complete, I am definitely going to have to sit back down and binge read it, never coming up for air!
The scenes with Echo and Thorn were... and then Echo and Asher... ohmygosh... I just can't even! And then the end! So intense! And the ending just left like whaaa! Dude... I am "patiently" waiting for book 4, and by patiently I mean not at all patiently!

13 Ways to Midnight Book 3 by Rue Volley

Echo Navarri had sought the help of a Vega, the master vampire, to change her life and take away the memories that had hurt more than she could bare in book two of this series. Now she finds herself caught up in that magical change and living a life that seems real and yet she finds herself pausing thinking what isn’t right . Each day is new and each day there are things she realizes she doesn’t remember. Her mind questions the reality she is seeing as all around her plays out in a life she isn’t really sure is real. All I can tell you is when reading this I was feeling one solid overwhelming Wow, and I couldn’t put it down.

Wow 13 Ways to Midnight book three is mind numbing phenomenal. Everything is topsy turvy for Echo as she is trapped in a dark spell that she asked Eyota to put on her, it is then twisted by a twisted individual and we can all guess who that is, it precedes to erase her memories but she knows something is wrong. Will Echo be able to tell reality from non reality will she be able to break this spell will she get all of her memories back. And that last chapter wow that has to be one of the best cliffhangers ive ever read and i cant wait for 13 Ways to Midnight 4 is out to see how these characters fair. The talent that Rue has is just amazing, She truly has her readers hooked.

have TOTALLY fallen in love with this series. Rue Volley has a way of writing that keeps you turning page after page long after you said you needed to stop reading for the time. The anticipation of what will happen next with her characters is edge of your seat reading at its best! Book 3 is even better than 2 in that we see more of Echo's world, and the plot just keeps getting better! If you have made it to book 3, you already know how amazing this series is!!

The ending wrecked me

The story begins where book two left us. Lost in a spell. Echo finds herself lost, wondering if her dreams are real or if she has seen and been with someone before. Maybe new beginnings and then maybe not.

This author always knows how to have the reader feel that they are part of the story. Bringing you into her world. If you haven't read Rue Volley's stories, I highly recommend them.

An amazing addition to the series! I am loving these books so much! All of the characters are wonderful and the storyline gets better with each story. Echo Navarri has learned that you don't always get what you wish for. Will she be able to stop the unthinkable from happening, or will she lose someone close to her? A terrific mix of paranormal and all the things that could go wrong in the world of a teenager.

I love Echo!

I can't wait for book 4! This book was great but so confusing for Echo. Rue is such a great author, not only for her writing but how she keeps in contact with her readers. The story is so deep and emotional, a great read that goes so fast because you can't put it down.

In book 3 a spell sees our main character living an alternative life to reality. Her sisters alive, her parents are dead. Characters are all different to reality. Her memory of her real reality fades and she lives life but has a feeling that things aren't quite what they seem. Another enjoyable installment to this series and I look forward to seeing what happens once reality rights itself.

This third volume broke me! Rue Volley is right up there with SJM is doing this to me! Poor Echo asked for a spell from Eyota after the events in book 2. And what a spell it turned out to be!

Every turn something else seems wrong. Her aunt is wearing clogs, gardening, & the house has pink shutters! Ash is now her brother/cousin instead of her boyfriend. It's all topsy turvy and Echo is having a hard time getting her bearings.

Where will this all lead?
