Ωστόσο, η ψυχή του Κέιντ φαίνεται άρρηκτα δεμένη με την ψυχή του Ντέις, κι αυτό θα δοκιμάσει τον έρωτά τους. Πώς να νικήσει τον Κέιντ αφού αυτό σημαίνει ότι θα καταστρέψει και τον Ντέις; Και η αγάπη τους θα αντέξει τον θάνατο;

5 Words: Magic, love, family, crazy, guiding.

A lot of this book felt a bit... Like a filler, really. It was propping open the gap between the end of Echo and the beginning of Horizon. So it felt like not a lot actually happened.

Again there was the super-fast training - but let's be honest, that's a good thing. Reading about Daire learning everything would have just been a waste of trees.

If Daire and Cade willingly get it on in the next book then it gets five stars. I dunno but there's something about their chemistry, it just needs to happen.

Mystic is the third book in the Soul Seekers series. During the time I read this book I have experienced every emotion possible, extreme sadness and heartache, joy and love, anger and anxiety.

The book starts out right where Echo left off. Axel has rushed Daire to the upper world in order to save her life, and evil Cade has hidden his brother Dace in the lowest of the underworld in hopes of no one ever finding him. Remember that due to their connection, if one brother dies, the other will as well so Cade has to keep Dace alive.

 photo mystic_zpsd4c4fb1d.jpg

Daire awakens under the care of Axel who reminds her of the glowing people she used to see back when she thought she was having hallucinations. But, she can't get any answers out of him. Just who is he and why did he save her? Where is her beloved Dace? When will he let her return home so she can find Dace?

 photo glowingman_zps5557c1de.jpg

Dace wants nothing more than to die. He thinks Daire is dead. So he wants to die as well so that his brother will also die. This part of the book broke my heart. These two have endured so much. The love they have for one another is so strong. They have come to completely rely and trust one another. Only to be ripped apart. Actually, both Daire and Dace grow and mature so much in this book. They both fully accept their responsibilities and grow in their powers.

As much as they are good, though, Cade is evil. And his power grows as well. It is the ultimate test of good versus evil. Can Dace retain his pure soul while attempting to defeat his brother. Is the love between Daire and Dace strong enough to endure everything they are forced to face?

Once again Alyson Noel has submerged us into this world full of so much beauty and darkness. The book both starts and ends in heartbreak with non-stop page turning action throughout. I am so excited for the final book.

______________________________________

Something about the Soul Seekers series draws me to it like a moth to a flame. I really can't place my finger on it, but Noel is doing many things right with this one.

While ECHO, the second book in this series, seemed a bit like a filler novel with an explosive ending, Mystic is filled with action all the way through. (Would it be bad if I told you this book almost made me cry? If your answer is yes, pretend I didn't say that.) Noel's writing style is chock-full of fragments, and I'm getting used to, even starting to appreciate, this. Her writing is lyrical, evocative, beautiful in some parts. She has really gotten a strong hold on her craft. Some of the other YA writers in the marketplace need to figure out what they're doing like Noel has.

Those of you who read Noel's Immortals series may have forever crossed her off your reading lists, which you may want to fix because this series is successful. I have to say, though, that one of the things that really grates on me about Noel's plotting is that all of her villains have condescending chats with the protagonists. In this book, every time Daire was within close proximity of Cade, the big bad wolf, they would have a conversation in which he would call out all of her thoughts and dismiss them, almost in a "you can't catch me, MWAHAHAHA" kind of way. This also happened with Ever and the countless villains in the Immortals series. Of course, the action in this series is considerably greater in volume than that of the other, and the plot moves at a much quicker pace.

Daire is a great protagonist. Her actions aren't based off of merely her desires; she has the capability to think about others around her and is quite selfless. The sad plot twist at the end of this book has me reaching hopelessly for HORIZON, the last book in this series that will (hopefully) wrap everything up for us tortured readers. Thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait for Noel’s next installment, only until mid-November. (Who am I kidding; that’s an eternity away!)

🤔🧐🤯MY THOUGHTS:🤯🧐🤔

This book supports the character development and world building of the 2 previous books very well. Our MFC, Daire is trying to get Dace’s soul back to his body while fighting Dace’s evil twin, Cade, along the way. Her best friends Xotichl and Lita help along the way but the one person who has been Daire’s rock, support a guide for Daire’s Seeker journey is lost at the hands of Cade.

A lot happened in this book I believe the worst is yet to come in the last book of the series, Horizon. Daire knows she needs to find a way to separate Dace and Cade’s souls so that the Richter’s can be finished.

I am really liking this series! I love how Daire is negotiating all sides of all worlds, supernatural or real world and learning to hone the skills she needs. Like when she is offed, kakked, killed, murdalized by Cade in the end of the last novel...! What is she to do??
Well, let's see, for starters, First Sentence feature new Animal Spirit Guides again: Jaguar, Monkey, Raccoon, Squirrel, and Red Fox.
First Sentence: First Section: HOUSE OF LIGHT & SHADOW: (Daire) I wake to a room gone suddenly bright as Axel calls me from his place by the door."
"Axel, Dace's lavender eyed spirit guide saved Daire's life, at the expense of his place as Mystic in the Upperworld. We finally see and learn about the Upperworld. Xochitl achieves a sensory perception that can be near to being able to see. She remains quietly optimistic. I love the friendship with Lita now, creating a trio, they are all cute together. Sorrowfully, Cade's machinations have turned out to be too much for her grandmother Paloma & she passes away. No!
This has been another great novel, the third "Soul Seeker" and I can't wait to read the fourth one, "Horizon" next! I always groove on an entire series like that; it's so fricken luscious; I really don't mind coming to the party late, as it means totally never having to wait to find out and love up on a series...! Yeah!! Who's with me??!!

          Το τέλος του βιβλίου με συγκλόνισε. Πολύ δυνατό και άκρως συγκινητικό. Η Ντέαρ πλέον βλέπει ότι η μοίρα της είναι πια προδιαγεγραμμένη και η τελική μάχη είναι προ των πυλών. Πόσο έτοιμη είναι όμως να αντιμετωπίσει όλα όσα την καταδιώκουν όταν γνωρίζει ότι υπάρχει περίπτωση να χάσει αυτόν που αγαπά μαζί με αυτόν που μισεί, τώρα περισσότερο από ποτέ; Θα αντέξει η αγάπη τους τον θάνατο;

*My Thoughts*

"You must be willing to do that which you believe you're not capable of."

So, having finished reading Mystic at 3 am this morning and then immediately falling asleep and dreaming about tearing Cade Richter's eyes out with my fingers, I can now quietly contemplate writing a review without fear of sounding angry, sad, or annoyed.

Mystic is the third novel in the Soul Seekers series and picks up pretty much right where Echo left off. Mystic is told by three different characters: Daire Santos, Dace Whitefeather, and Xotichl Gohman who I actually liked hearing from since her perspective is totally different than any other characters in this series and she also goes through a wondrous change along with Lita. But, it is Cade Richter that once again drives the storyline and leaves people's life's hanging in the balance.

If you have NOT read Echo, then I feel it necessary to warn you that there may or might not be spoilers coming your way. Please don't message me and tell me I've ruined the book for you when in fact I am telling you straight up to STOP READING THIS REVIEW until you have finished with Echo.

Mystic picks up with Daire in the Upperworld having died and then rescued by the mysterious Axel. Who is Axel? Why did Axel save Daire and take her to the Upperworld? What happened to Dace and Cade? Pretty much all these questions are explained in great detail and Noel doesn't leave anything to chance by leaving readers squiggling in their seats in anticipation that Daire and Axel may really soul mates or long lost loves.

There is ONE question I do have however, and I'm hoping that someone who has read this story can explain it to me: Who was the mysterious stranger in Upperworld that recognizes Daire and tries to help her only to have Daire run away? This question is driving me silly wondering why anyone in the Upperworld would recognize her and try to help her and not introduce themselves.

I need to say that I have overcome my hesitation when it comes to reading this series and following Daire's story. She has overcome so much at 16 years of age, and her determination to fight to the bitter end is nothing less than stellar and admirable. Daire is definitely a character that you can follow without fear that she's going to do something absolutely stupid and put herself and friends into harm’s way on purpose. Daire isn't afraid of standing up to Cade, and hopefully, the final showdown will be of epic proportions and not a subtle let down like other final books I’ve read recently.

Let's talk about Cade shall we? Seriously, Cade is one of the vilest, meanest villains you will ever meet in the YA genre, or any other genre for that matter. He is a power hungry little cretin who is dangerous and toys with Daire at each opportunity he gets. He's like a cat with a mouse, pushing her around, stopping her in her tracks, and then batting her away like she's nothing more than cannon fodder.

I love the fact that Xotichl and Lita play important parts in this book. Especially Lita who has come a long from being the mean girl and Cade's girlfriend. It's like a whole new form of the Scooby gang with Daire and Dace as the other members. I liked seeing the changes in both characters after spending time in Middleworld and hope Noel expands upon it. There are some that will feel an emotional connection to Phyre. Me, I really didn't like the way she was twisted and changed by her own father to supposedly start the end of the world. I was also hoping that maybe either Dace and Daire would reach her and stop her from doing something stupid.

Mystic has a very emotional ending to it, and I’m sure those who have read the series will see it coming from a mile away. There is also the question about why Axel has decided to forgo the Upperworld in order to be in Enchanted with Daire and Dace. Guess we shall see in the final installment called Horizon coming November 2013.

I'm not even sure where to start with this book, except to the fact that it was incredible. I feel like we got a huge chunk of character building in this book from Daire and Dace, which, you would think that we would’ve learned everything we need to know already, but omg, there is more and it is intense, just like this book is. And with everything that happens in book two you really need to listen and focus on everything you read in this one, because wow, it takes you on quite the ride. Yes, there is constantly something happening in this book, yes the emotions are freaking everywhere, but most of all it comes to the number one thing these books are about, winning this fight and taking Cade down.

I love the emotion build up that revolves around that and how Daire is not just focusing on her love for her friends, Dace or her abuela, but how much she wants to take Cade down. This book she does hate some of the thoughts and emotions that happens in her mind and all the mind boggling emotions, but Daire is such a strong and stubborn person. She really puts up so many fights in this book and you are always on her side, understanding her emotions, but at the same time, you just wish she would take that extra second to think about what needs to be done.

The emotions in this book are high, maybe almost very high. The events that take place in this book, holy sh*t, are a lot, there are many. I feel like with each book this series gets better and better and I’m definitely making sure that I’m prepared for my mind to be blown away with book four, because so much is about to go down. Can’t wait to get started.

Every chapters end with a cliffhanger. Now, tell me, how can I stop reading this book?
Oh my, this book, wow, so good. The plot, coughs, again, coughs, perfectly on point!

Daire is always badass and amazing. Uh oh and Dace too.
We got more details for Pyhre and her mad father! So freaking cool. The whole thing about them, wow.

I'm so done with Cade, lol. He's like this creepy guy who knows everything.

I'm very frustasting of the death in this book. I'm really do and I can't believe the reason why "um" died! I mean, oh my God, my mind is getting messier.

I found many great quotes in this book so I would love to share them with you guys!

1. "What lies outside of you is no match for what lies within you. You must be willing to do that which you believe you're not capable of."

2. "All you need to know is that darkness can never overcome darkness-only light can do that. Use your light, nieta. Learn to trust it. It's the most reliable tool that you have."

3. "But you know what they say-people tend to believe what they see."

Can't wait for tomorrow so I can read the last and final book which probably all my hopes will shatter and boom, gone.

Η Ντέαρ καταφέρνει από καθαρή τύχη να γλιτώσει από τα δίχτυα του θανάτου. Έχοντας συμφιλιωθεί με τις δυνάμεις της ως Ανιχνεύτρια, προσπαθώντας να αναρρώσει αλλά και να καταλάβει ποια γεγονότα την οδήγησαν στο σημείο που βρίσκεται σήμερα, πρέπει να βρει τον Ντέις, ο οποίος και έχει χάσει την ψυχή του, πριν να είναι αργά. Ο χρόνος μετράει αντίστροφα και τα περιθώρια στενεύουν, την ίδια ώρα που η Ντέαρ πρέπει να εκπληρώσει το πεπρωμένο της και να αποφύγει παράλληλα την εκπλήρωση της προφητείας που μπορεί να καταδικάσει τους Κόσμους για πάντα στο σκοτάδι, ενώ ο αντίπαλός της φαίνεται να δυναμώνει όλο και περισσότερο, την ίδια ώρα που νέοι εχθροί, θανάσιμοι και έτοιμοι για όλα, μπαίνουν στο παιχνίδι απειλώντας τις ισορροπίες. Θα καταφέρει άραγε η Ντέαρ να εκπληρώσει το πεπρωμένο της κι αν ναι, τι κόστος μπορεί να έχει για εκείνη;

Daire has learned to accept, if not embrace her ability to move between the realms of the living and the dead, but Cade is still a threat, looming large and gaining strength. It is imperative that Dace’s connection to Cade be broken, but how? Daire has only been awakened to her powers as the last seeker for a short time, and her human mind has trouble wrapping itself around the impact of whatever action she takes. Mystic picks up where Echo left off, with Daire recovering from her wounds in the Upper world, a place shrouded in mystery. Her one concern is that her actions saved Dace’s life, but did she? When she cannot get the answers she needs, even after returning to the middle world and Enchanted, New Mexico, no one is talking, no one seems able to tell her about Dace. Is he gone or has something far worse happened to him? Dace is soulless now, but his innate goodness and his love for Daire may keep him from succumbing to the evil machinations of his brother.

When a religious zealot becomes determined to rid the world of evil, Dace is his perfect target and a public display of his death seems eminent. Meanwhile, Cade has his own ideas of how to get Daire’s soul. Will this be the end for both Daire and Dace?

Once again, relying on more action, changing POVs and the power of myths and magic, Alyson Noel keeps the action non-stop through the twisted passages of Mystic. Adding even another layer of interest, a third voice speaks from their unique perspective as once again, these teens must face loss, love and danger few of us could even imagine. Ms. Noel has allowed her characters to mature and grow into their situation as help comes from some surprising corners and Daire in particular grows into her role on destiny’s stage.

The build up is palpable, as the end prepares us for the final book in this series, Horizon. am I anxious for it? Yep. Am I almost afraid to read it, because it will mean the end of a series I have grown fond of? Yep. Will it stop me, even though I KNOW Mystic will be a hard act to follow? Nope!

I received a review copy of Mystic as part of the Horizon/Soul Seeker Review Tour stopping at Tome Tender November 8, 2013, in exchange for my honest review.

Mystic is my favorite (so far) in the Soul Seeker series. Alyson Noel does a spectacular job of making the complicated journey of a Seeker easy to understand. (When I try to explain what the series is about.. Well, that's not so easy.) The characters are unique. (Xotchl especially. With her being blind yet able to see energy anything in her perspective was a little harder to picture but her character is definitely intriguing.) Then, of course, There's the romance. Daire and Dace are perfect together. They're definitely my two favorite characters, and the "love padlock" is now on my list of things to do. :) Basically what I'm saying is, this is a great book with romance, action, & some Native American myths thrown in. Mystic will be on sale in about a month! (;

Well I didn't think this would become of this series but it did.

First off, this book sucked!!!

I hated the way DAIRE only thought of herself and Dace!! WTFF!!!

Daire was so ignorant to ever think about the affects this held on Paloma. Its so disastrous I wanted to through the book far across the room

It was predictable that Daire would fail to do her "destiny".

A load of "shizzzzzzzz"

When in reality she saved one person but end up losing another, who, in fact was the most importance of teaching and guiding this novice, if you may say.

Daire, you failed me.

Alyson, I'm sorry this series is NOT working for me as it did in The Immortals.

This is the third book from The Soul Seekers written by Alyson Noel that continues the story of Daire.

Axel took Daire to the upper world in order to save her life and soul. When Daire wakes up, she can't get any informations from him.

Dace is in the lowest part of the underworld. He lost hope that someone would find him. He thinks that Daire is dead so he wants to die and with that his brother dies too.

This book was incredible. There were some heartbreaking moments and it has a lot of action. Since the beginning of the story this book was fast paced and with a lot of action and suspense.

Overall, MYSTIC was a great third installment to the Soul Seekers series and offers so many things to keep you entertained (and shocked) until the very end of the book. So right now I'm patiently waiting around and looking forward to the fourth installment of the series because I NEED more of this story asap!

First thoughts on the cover.. I didn’t like it as much as the previous two. I liked that it showed the Key she and Dace wear, but other than that it was a bit blah when compared alongside the previous two.

I’m going to try and save the spoilers for the end of the review. The last thing I want is to ruin someones full experience when reading this series.

In the third part of this saga were introduced to a Mystic by the name of Axel. We get a small glimpse of him towards the end of Echo, when he chooses to save Daire. He resides in the upperworld, and takes a big risk when he saves Daire. Again the descriptions of what these paras are is confusing. It doesn’t really state what a Mystic can do, other than they’re magickal. Yeah, okay, even humans are magickal? Why don’t we just pass around a magic license since it appears everyone is capable?

Daire learns the full truth of what happened to her while in the Enchanted Spring, when she takes herself and her two friends, Lita and Xiotchel to the middleworld. Because that makes sense. Literally, we learn in the first book that we’re not supposed to tell anyone, let alone take someone into the ethers. So what are we gonna do? We’re gonna take our goddamn friends. Nothing bad seems to happen to them while they’re there, contrary, Xiotchel can now see shapes.

We follow as Diare tries to save Dace, and succeeds. We learn of Phyre in the previous book, and let me just tell you, the girl is fucking psychotic. Like she’s seriously loony. FULL ON CRAZY BITCH. Okay, granted it’s not entirely her fault, but still..

We see a lot of protecting of Cade in this book. Since the brothers are two halves of a whole, what happens to one, also happens to the other. Unless you’re Cade and you can quickly shapeshift into your monster? Yeah, makes a lot of sense.

As we reach the end, we see Daire and Dace come face to face with death. (ShOCKer) Surprisingly, it’s not technically at the hands of Cade or the Coyotes. We learn Cade is up to his old tricks, and tries, once again, to enslave everyone.

**Bigger Spoilers ahead**

TURN BACK NOW

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Yeah? No?

Anyway, we learn in the first few chapters, Axel is what they call a “Mystic” yeah, cool. We also learn that its a human spirit guide. What was wrong with the animals. Honestly, his purpose (apart from carrying the souls to their eternal resting place) what beyond confusing. We also see Raven, an animal spirit guide, was denied entry when he tried to follow Daire and Axel. Again, ONE WOULD THINK if they’re pretty much the same thing, both would be allowed entrance. Whatever.

Axel is also apparently Dace’s spirit guide. He chose to save Daire, not Dace. It was claimed that by saving Daire, he would in turn save Dace. I honestly didn’t see it that way. In an essence the prophecy was destroyed/rewritten because of him. We learn Daire was in actuality supposed to die that night, and the twins would have been saved. That makes zero sense, but whatever. I mean, wouldn’t it have just been a lot simpler to save Dace? You know, the actual person you’re supposed to be looking out for?

Another thing, we learn in the previous book about Dace being an Echo of Cade. Okay, cool, but then wouldn’t Cade also be an Echo of Dace? You know, because, they’re supposedly connected? Whatever.

I kind of have a love/hate relationship with Xiotchel atm. It’s not the characters fault, she’s awesome. I blame the writer. We learn shes can now see shapes as well as energy. That’s awesome, good for her, i can get behind that... But in the last few pages of the book, we learn she blew open the doors to get everyone to escape the bomb? I don’t understand the point of making humans magickal. If she is not a paranormal being, if she in only super intuitive, she should not have that fucking ability. It just genuinely makes no sense, and i don’t like it. It gets on my damn nerves. Stop giving magic abilities to people who were not born to have them!

Also, the fucking psycho, Phyre. Why? You can not poision someone over and over throughout their childhood and slowly build up a tolerance... Okay, you technically probably can do that.. but their saliva would not become poisonous. Again, didn’t really make much sense. Whatever.

Paloma dies. Honestly the worst part of the book for me. I really liked her, i thought she was super cute. But seriously, the way she dies. As a reader, i saw it a mile away. I find it incrediably iritating that Daire/Dace/ Xiotchel/Lita didn’t see it coming as well. I mean, honestly, how fucking ignorant can someone be? If the bad guy gives you a fucking gift, you don’t just keep passing it around trying to make sense of it.. You toss that motherfucker in the damn ocean, you bury that shit in the desert...You give it to someone you seriously hate, because you know nothing good is coming of it. Seriously, Alyson? Paloma? Fuck you. She was literally the only good character, apart from my girl Lita, in the damn series.

I’m going to rate this book 3.5 stars. Didn’t get that much better for me. I didn’t find it amazing, found a lot of it annoying, but also wasn’t the worse thing I’ve read. I’m obviously going to continue on to book four, for no other reason than i have to know how it ends. I owe it to myself after the last four days of reading. Also kind of can’t wait to get back to my kindle, I’m remembering why I always select my kindle now.

This series just seems to get better and better with each installment. Was not disappointed the connection between Daire and Dace is unmatched, Xotichl is wonderful character and Lita has finally come into her own. Noel keep up the great work. You never cease to amaze me!!!
