Rate this book
What woman isn't a sucker for a sexy hunk with a hot English accent and a very large estate? Fall in lust with three British Bad Boys who like it shaken and stirred, and who know exactly how to give a woman the royal treatment, in bed and out...

George and the Dragon Lady

George Hartley is high on the list of England's most eligible bachelors: he's young, single, gorgeous -- and, as the 19th Earl of Ponsford, lives in a castle. Granted, the castle has seen better days . . . but nights with the Earl are what LA TV producer Maxine Larraby keeps thinking about . . .

Nights Round Arthur's Table

Seattle thriller author Meg Stanton desperately needs a quiet place to work. Stag Cottage in the English countryside is perfect . . . until she meets local pub owner Arthur Denby. He's as dark and brooding as one of her imaginary villains, and Meg always falls for her villains. But there s nothing imaginary about the things Arthur does to her after last call . . .

Union Jack

Former head chef and current love cynic Rachel Larraby can't believe she got dragged across the pond for a catering job. Weddings -- ugh, she's had enough personal experience, thanks. And though recurring best man Jack Flynt is quite smashing, she can keep it to just a steamy fling. Until this very bad bloke starts looking at her with those forever eyes . . .

British Bad Boys by Nancy Warren
Three short stories about three American Girls falling in love with British guys.

George and the Dragon Lady
Maxine Larraby is a documentary filmmaker doing a series called Great Estates, Grand Titles. She goes to interview the Earl of Ponsford, George Hartley, at his ancestral home. George's Castle and the grounds are in danger of not surviving without more income. The Earl decides to accept the reporter into his home knowing that this will attract more visitors and the needed revenue to keep Hart House going.
They meet and like each other instantly. But, will she give up her career and stay with him or return to LA?

Nights Round Arthur's Table
The second story is about Meg Stanton, an American writer. She writes thrillers and flies to England to find some needed inspiration for her next novel. What she finds is Arthur Denby, pub owner of the Royal Oak and a friend of George and Maxine. She pictures him as her next imaginary villain. The villains in her stories usually died at the end of her books. Is he going to have the same fate?
The attraction is mutual and this dangerous looking man can take her heart as well. After all, doesn't she have a soft spot for villains?

Union Jack
The third story is about Maxine's sister, Rachel Larraby. A chef, recently divorced and unemployed. Maxine invites her to Ponsford to distract her and get her out of the depression she has sink in after loosing her job.
Once she arrives to Hart House, she agrees to cater for a wedding at the Castle. The bride's brother, Jack Flynt, comes to oversee the preparation for the wedding.
Jack has not committed to a woman before. Rachel doesn't think she will be the exception.
Maybe a fling is all she really needs. But, what if Jack wants more?

All three stories are fast paced, light reading. No major disappointments. No major obstacles.

Does make you want to fly to England and enjoy a darts night at the local Pub.

Nancy Warren is featured in Brava’s latest installment in the Bad Boys series: British Bad Boys, a trio of connected stories set in the English countryside.

In the first novella, George and the Dragon Lady, George Hartley has just inherited a castle and the title of earl following his father’s unexpected death. He has left his life in London and returned home to set about running the earldom.

Maxine Larraby is an American television producer who has arrived at Hartley house with the intention of featuring the house, as well as the lord of the manor, in a documentary about England’s castles. Expecting a “distinguished general whose hobbies include playing with his grandchildren,” she instead ends up with Earl Tall-Dark-and-Handsome the Nineteenth, who appears to be very interested in her. Although Maxine is too busy to date, she’s not too busy for a fling. But what happens when Maxine realizes her innocent fling has turned into a hardcore romance?

Nights Round Arthur’s Table features Arthur Denby, a friend of George who runs the local pub. While he claims he’s been in love a time or two, both George and Maxine know that he’s never experienced the real thing. When Seattle author Meg Stanton walks into the pub looking for the cottage she’s rented for the season, Arthur finds himself intrigued by her.

Meg has come to the English countryside with the intention of locking herself in an isolated cottage and working long hours on her latest book. She hopes the solitude of being in a foreign country with no one to distract her will mean she’ll finally be able to make some headway on the book that’s been causing her so much trouble. What she doesn’t expect, however, is having to fight the attraction she finds to the roguish Arthur.

In the last story, Union Jack, Maxine’s sister, Rachel, is mourning the loss of not only her marriage but her career as a chef in one of L.A.’s hottest (now defunct) restaurants. Hoping to get Rachel’s mind off of her problems, Maxine asks Rachel to England to cater a wedding. While there, Rachel meets Jack Flynt, confirmed bachelor, hottie extraordinare.

Jack first encounters Rachel while she’s in the midst of cooking, and let’s just say he’ll remember not to interrupt her while cooking again. Despite fearing bodily harm from flying spuds, Jack is instantly taken by Rachel, who feels the same. Unwilling to get involved in a serious relationship, Rachel believes that Jack is the perfect person to help her forget her ex-husband, since everyone knows Jack isn’t the commitment type and those leopards can’t change their spots. Unfortunately for her, Jack’s not as much of a leopard as she first thought...

British Bad Boys is a good effort from Nancy Warren that unfortunately falls short. While each story is well put together, there’s something missing that keeps each from being great. George and the Dragon Lady could have been better if Maxine has actually lived up to her moniker. There is a reference to “dragon lady” in the last chapter, and I have no idea to whom Warren was referring. The remaining two novellas suffer from a lack of conflict. The ready-made conflict – woman must give up life in America to move to England – is barely an issue. While the romances are believable, they waere also a little on the boring side. Hardcore fans of Nancy Warren’s work might enjoy her latest offering, but those who are new to her might want to either wait for her next one or check out her backlist.

He flopped back onto the bed so he was staring up at the ceiling. “You never think, when you read about meeting the one person who was meant for you, that it might be a one-sided affair. Nobody ever warns you that you might feel love at first sight while the other person thinks, ‘What a wally'.

This books are available in KU and they are amazing! Read them i order to get the full effect, they can be read alone but the characters interweave between and it is a much better set up that way.

I like the fact that the character where present from a story to an other. But I found the story lack substance and were only a cheap wrapping for sex scene.

British Bad Boys by Nancy Warren
George and the Dragon Lady:
George Hartley - 19th Earl of Ponsford has inherited a five hundred year old home, and the debt that came with it. It was his destiny, his duty. He picked up the baton with pride. When George said yes to having a documentary made by Americans, he ended up with more than he could have ever hoped for.

Maxine Larraby produced documentaries with all kinds of famous people. Never had one of those rich and handsome men affected her like this old-fashioned earl. Too bad he was tied down to his estate and her life was her work.

Love doesn’t care if it chooses a busy LA girl and an English aristocrat. But, can they choose love?

Nights Round Aurthur's Table
Arthur Denby owned the Royal Oak Pub in Ponsford and was content enough. And then one day she walked into his life. An American who was going to be renting Stag Cottage was all. A pretty lady to get to know a bit better while she was there.

Meg Stanton had writer’s block in the worst way. Getting away from the familiar and from her last relationship, she heads to England. The moment she walked into the Royal Oak she saw it...her next story. And the face of her next villain.

The reader meets Arthur in the George and the Dragon Lady and I love that we get to see George and Maxine in this story as well.

Union Jack:
Rachel Larraby was a famous chef in LA, until the owners mismanagement had it closing down. Not only has she lost a job she put everything into, she had a divorce certificate showing where else she failed in life. And then her bossy big sister pushes her into coming to visit her in England.

Jack Flynt is pretty much of an English playboy. He is always a groomsman at the weddings and never the groom. Who would ever think that he could actually fall in love and settle for one woman? And who would think that the one woman might not follow suit?

The end of these three tales must end in a happy-ever-after ending, right? Guess you’ll have to read George and the Dragon Lady and Night’s Round Arthur’s Table along with this book to find out.

Lessee... other than the feeling I'd been had with the format (usually if a book is published in trade format, it's a bit...steamy), the stories were a bit...sappy. The only conflict - at least with two - was whether the heroine would stay in England or go home to America at the end of her stay. Also, the guy on the cover? Looks rather like Daniel Craig and Chevy Chase's love child. Urp.

Not quite as spicy as some of the other bad boy books, but pretty clever nevertheless. It entwines three romance stories with the same characters. All three are American gals who fall madly and hopelessly in love with British bad boys. Pretty entertaining read.

While the stories were good the endings were big letdowns. All of a sudden the stories suddenly ended. There was nothing really leading up to it.

This was a fun read - not a lot of depth, but I don't think it wasn't meant to be. I've enjoyed all of the "Bad Boy" series, nad this was no exception.
