i have a revised edition of 2022 and this isn't the picture on the front of my book, but it is one of the pictures inside it! I was at a county fair in July/August and there were two very nice young people standing at a Riverfood fruit and veg box stall. They looked friendly and so my sister and I stopped to chat, we were really taken by the content of the boxes and we signed up for delivery, even got the large hardbacked book as a present, it is very heavy, too heavy to carry around in the heat as well!!

My sister has a weekly family box but I have the 1-2 person box fortnightly and I've been very pleased with it. The recipe book is packed full of ideas on how to use the vegetables in your box and I've had a few I've never bought before but with this book I coped!! It's over 270 pages and it begins with the story of the start of Riverford which is very interesting and the philosophy behind it which I agree with, and goes on to describe each vegetable you could receive in your box, how to prepare them (think kohlrabi) and and then recipes follow each vegetable description accompanied with full page colour photographs. You also get a sheet with each box describing the veggies and ways to cook them too. But I am really taken with the book there is just so much information given and so many different ways to cook veggies and the recipes I've cooked so far have been really tasty!

This is the spring and summer book, I mean to go online and look for the autumn and winter book as I want to see which veggies I'm going to get and what to make with them. Now I'm off to cook baked chicken with fennel and potatoes.

I love these Riverford cookery books. I can read them like a novel and they always inspire me to cook differently with veg.

Some nice recipes, nothing too unusual but what is good is that it tells you about each of the vegetables, how to store, prep and general cooking instructions as well as the recipes
