I would give 2,5 *
I like it, it had a lot of information that's help when dividing the good and bad foods, and some of the recipes are quite appealing, but unfortunately it was repeating all the time and the absence of pictures in each recipe it was a negative point for me, since I'm a visual person.

When I first started my New Year’s resolution of learning to cook, this was the first book I grabbed. After eating the same thing for lunch most of last year, I wanted to mix it up. This book holds a lot of great recipes that can easily be adapted to be even easier by buying sauces at the store instead of making them by hand. It is still a staple on my shelf.

I have no idea how to meal prep and thought this might be a good book to help me start- and I think it will. It covers the basics and offers a few different 2 week meal plans, as well as stand alone recipes you could use to create a week of recipes yourself. I found enough recipes worth trying but also a lot that didn’t interest me. It’s not a slam dunk but I think it will cover the basics.

I'm a little late to the meal prepping game, but I was able to get up to speed with this informative and easy book. Besides recipes there is a great intro that breaks down different diets, as well as shopping and prepping tips. From weight loss to muscle building to clean eating, there are a lot of options included. The recipes are great (granted I skipped over all the meat and fish chapters) and filled with great tips. At the top of each recipe are tabs for quick browsing that can alert the reader if the recipe in question is: gluten free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian, or paleo. I haven't tried out too many of the recipes yet, and I've only done one solid week of meal prepping, but I really like the layout of this book and the advice it offers. I only wish there were more vegetarian options and a LOT more pictures. Overall though, a great starter guide to meal prepping. Hell a great cookbook!

A cookbook for a modern age. I received this many months ago and have tried several of the recipes, with pleasant results. Many of the recipes are glimpses back to the author’s early years, and some of these have been updated to reflect today’s health concerns. The author includes recipes, tips, a conversion table, and two indexes, however, there are few illustrations. The author formatted supplemental material, shopping lists, and meal plans in an easy to follow style. There are meal plans for clean eating, for weight loss, and muscle building. Breakfasts and healthy snacks are emphasized, as well as use of unusual grains.

I received a copy of this book from Turner Publishing and Callisto Publisher’s Club, in exchange for a review.

I received this book from the publisher to preview. What I really liked about this book was that it has several meal prep plans for different goals. For example, meal prep plans for weight loss, clean eating and muscle building. Most if not all the ingredients are easily obtainable. Several of the recipes are slow cooker or one pot. Although I just recently procured this book, I foresee it becoming a well used book in this household.

This book is a major disappointment. It has very few pictures. I would have appreciated if, while looking at the recipes, I was directed back to which meal plan that was from. I often read just recipes and after realizing this book is pretty much just a bunch of lists, I skipped to the recipes. It’s just not what I was hoping it would be. Glad it’s a library book.

This is a good cookbook, with good information.

I don't like eating the same thing over and over again, so there are some recipes that I wont make because of that but otherwise it has great ideas no matter if you are wanting to eat healthy or trying to save money.

While this book contains some good advice and information, it's too restrictive for my tastes. It doesn't really leave any room for deviation. I can see where it will be very useful for some folks, but it's not for me.

This cookbook is well-thought out. It uses staples that are in most pantries, and puts the teensiest spin on classic recipes, so you are just out of your comfort zone. I use this cookbook more than the 15 others I own. I consistently reach for it!

It’s okay but won’t set the world on fire

Mostly recipes with a little info on freezing and refrigeration. It’s ok but limited. The recipes didn’t do much for me.

It was alright.

The organization was a little different. Usually sauces, salad dressings, etc are at the front of the book so when you come across a recipe calling of one of them, you already know what thy are. In this book, sauces and such are the last section of the book. So you will be reading a recipe that calls for a recipe you haven't seen yet. So, you can either flip to the back to have a look at it, or your read the current recipe without fully knowing what's in it.

The recipes themselves are well organized and most of them are quite simple, ingredients wise. There are not a lot of pictures though. So if you 'eat' with your eyes when looking for recipes, this one is going to be a bit of a struggle for you.

Three stars for the amount of effort, including information about storage and pantry items. I find this information to be very basic, but it could be helpful to others. Nutrition information for each recipe is great, but I was not inspired by the recipes and found the lack of pictures disappointing. Overall, others may find a lot of helpful information here, but I am looking for inspiration.

Thumbs Up

The recipes provided are fairly simple yet tasty. The ingredients were mostly every day ingredients that we all are familiar with. There was a lot of useful information about food storage and safety. I found recipes that I will go back to.

The recipes seem pretty great, but I wish the author spent more time on cooking with efficiency. Considering that a Sunday night meal prep can last as long as five hours, it would have been helpful to know a lot of time-saving tips.

-i liked the layout of this book, meal prep instructions all together in the front, recipes sorted by type in the rear.

-sadly only a handful of pictures in the whole book.
-and only a handful of recipes interested me.

Lots of great make-ahead recipes and meal plans to help with a busy lifestyle. My family would only eat about 1/3 of the recipes so not my favorite cookbook for us. Personally, the recipes looked amazing for those rare nights when I’m cooking for myself.

Great book on preparing meals and getting ready for the week. Would have like more information on how long they last in freezer and perhaps other options. But I use this book quite frequently for my meal planning.

This book was more basic than what I expected. It covers in detail every basic aspect of meal prep, from shopping for ingredients to choosing containers. I was hoping for more advanced tips & tricks, as I've been meal prepping for a while.

This meal prep book lives up to its full title. I have not yet switched into full meal prep mode, but I am interested in easy cooking and making incremental changes in my process until getting meals on the table is a snap.
