Once I got over the implausibility of a virgin with a "big bottom" having sex with a prince at a rugby match after exchanging a few words, then I could settle in and enjoy the H/h getting to know each other.
I was glad when the h finally stopped with her insecure internal monologues and fell to ruminating about the hero. Reading about body image is not my favorite thing. I was won over when the chatty h made friends where ever she went. I know that's a Mary Sue trait, but I find it fun to read.
I didn't like the hero as much as the heroine. His distrust got old - especially after they had spent so much time together. And he was just as much to blame for the initial publicity of their relationship. Sex at a rugby match, really? I'm still trying to suspend my disbelief.
If you like insta-lust and one night stands that lead to a royal title, you'll like this one.

Okaaaaaayyyyy, serious ick, sleaze, and callousness factor going on.
This is The Princess Diaries with sex and an arrogant ass for an H instead of the lovely Julie Andrews. I am referring to the movie since I have not read the book.
Plot Review
Bumped up to a three star.
The virginal h is a poor little, recently dumped sweet thang with a big bottom, apparently. She hates it; the prince from some made-up Mediterranean country loves it. As she's serving the prince's box at a rugby match, he notices she's about to cry. About 5 minutes later and maybe 10 words between them they have sex on the table, still clothed. Hmm, not to be a prude, but it's more sleazy than passionate and romantic.
Two weeks later and she knows she's pregnant. The prince swoops in and sneers and offers her marriage. Having been abandoned by her father as a child, she doesn't want her baby growing up without a father although she's a little concerned about how unenthused, can you say nasty, the Prince is.
After a quickie ceremony and an even longer procession to the castle where she charms the peasants by her Princess Mia routine (the scene is straight out of the Princess Diaries 2 movie when Princess Mia gets Abigail Breslin to put on her fake crown and wave at the other peasants, and I'm really embarrassed that I know this) he admits he married to get an heir. The country needs to believe that this baby is his 'cause he knows it's not. He's infertile, Sarah Morgan's term not mine. Wouldn't the word be sterile for a man? The h argues and argues, but that doesn't prevent her from succumbing to the magic P again and again.
We find out why the H is so shut down, and the Prince continues to play hardball about the pregnancy. The h finally has it and starts to shut the H out. The H gets a grip and confirms with a doctor that he is not "infertile", and grovels a little as well as say those three sweet words.
The h is a blithering idiot, but she's a blithering idiot with a good heart and standards. It take her a billion years to stand up to the jerk, but she finally does which elevates it from the 1 star to a minimal 3.
It really needed an epilogue.

4 stars!!
I am so,so happy! After a few DNF of a billionaire romance book, I finally found something that is worth reading for my holiday.
I really love this story, I haven’t read any harlequin’s publications for so long and this book might trigger my passion with harlequin romances all over again.
A little about the story. It’s about a Prince of Satallia and a waitress who had a ‘quickie’ together during a rugby game. The heroin was recently got dumped by his jerk of a boyfriend, so the thing that the prince gave her which is a mind blowing sex, and she was very thankful of him for that. So, she kissed him in front of a cameras unintentionally, and that scene had made the 82000 spectators of the game saw the whole thing. And for that small mistake, the prince misunderstood that the girl only do that because of its fame and money. Hence, the innocent girl went into hiding , found out that she’s pregnant, the prince came looking for her after 2 weeks and asked her to marry him because of his royal duties. And the angst, the conflicts, the revelation and the likes begins from there.
I like the amount of angst in the story, not too much and it’s not annoying either. The romance build up slowly, which I really like. I love the heroin, she’s a strong woman. She’s not afraid of dropping the L word, eventhough she knew that the prince wouldn’t be able to love her. She’s very patient and very forgiving. But most importantly, she was able to melt the heart of the cold hearted prince. It’s a story of learning how to love and become a human again.
Eventhough, there are insta love, lust and attraction which I despise the most but surprisingly it didn’t bother me at all. Maybe it’s because of how the author execute the story so well and in the end I never really care about it.
Overall, this is really a nice read and oh! Here is a picture of one of the hottest real life prince that I’ve ever laid my eyes on...weeee.....

"The Prince's Waitress Wife" is the story of Holly and Casper.
Our heroine is a big bottomed waitress, hired to help in a rugby event until her giant badonkadonk gets noticed by the prince, and soon she is seduced in a tent. She gets pictured by the media giving a thanking kiss, gets fired for seducing royalty and eventually finds out she is pregnant. Her creepy ex sells the story, and the prince who already believes she is a money-hungry-slut-gold-digger decides to marry her for his sperm miracle. But the heroine is an eternal optimist, and won't give up, even though the hero seems to be very happy in trampling over her self respect from every direction.
A delightfully chirpy heroine who was super kind, enthusiastic and easily forgiving. The hero behaved like an ass throughout the book (past trauma bla bla), but she did not accept any of his bullshit and took decisions that were good for her baby, as well as their kingdom. She fought for their relationship, even though the hero kept trying to push it off the cliff. The hero was just confused by her, but eventually gave in to her tirades.
I enjoyed it!

Okay read for me,Casper's mistrust and crappy behaviour towards Holly almost till the end & Holly taking it all spoiled it for me,he does'nt acknowledges his child,he did not redeem himself and most disappointing thing after all this she just takes him back way too easily:(

I feel like the odd woman out on this one. To be fair it had a major strike against it going in: I don't like royalty/Cinderella stories. Prince meets waitress, chambermaid, hairdresser, stable girl doesn't work for me. It's just one of those things. Obviously many people love them. YMMV totally.
So why did I bother? I needed something to listen to while I cleaned house and was in the mood for an HP. Unfortunately there aren't that many HPs on Audible, relatively speaking.
Honestly I was mostly bored. Nothing really happened. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who likes the OTT wth-just-happened variety of HPs. So, the fact that no one had an evil twin, got amnesia, or concocted an elaborate and senseless revenge or blackmail plot was actually a negative for me. Go figure.
Then there was the doormat, borderline Mary Sue heroine. Oh for Pete's sake! At every turn we're treated to her bandaging an orphan or kissing a leper. She didn't even have enough pride in her to tell her ex to go screw himself when he turned up with his fake apology. Seriously, after all the trouble he caused? She "understood"? Not to mention how she kept hanging on after the Prince who basically told her she was a gold digging whore. Okay she did get angry in the last few pages, but by then I couldn't have cared less.
Also, huge personal pet peeve of mine - the guy who believes he's sterile and won't get re-tested when the h turns up pregnant.

Holly annoyed me with her constant whining and insecurities! I wasn't keen on how fast and where she first fell into bed with Casper either. It was a definite case of insta-lust between two strangers because, really, they had literally just met and barely spoken to one another before having sex. I'm no prude, but the experience just felt sordid to me particularly when taking into account Holly's previous status as a virgin. She was not "thrown into the playboy prince's arms" like the synopsis states, but jumped quite willingly. Okay behavior for erotica or chick-lit but for a romance? Not my cup of tea if I feel they haven't fallen in love with each other (or started to).
Casper, for his part, tried my patience with his drawn-out distrust especially since he had been more than willing to sleep with a stranger (Holly) before getting to know her. He reaped what he sowed in more ways than one.
I may sound harsh, but I really do like Sarah Morgan's writing. These particular characters just didn't work for me.

Just okay. It seemed to me to be very much on the surface. The story seemed to be lacking in a clear focus. The prince had emotional issues from how a woman had cheated on him years ago. And he thought he was sterile and he leaped to conclusions and he was wishy washy. Felt like the author was just pushing buttons or choosing stacks A, B and C to make up a story. Like you can sometimes do in children's books to design a princess or something. There was a definite lack of concrete details here. I don't enjoy books where there is no effort made to set the scene. I don't want to read a travelogue but some description of place would be nice. No effort was made to set a time line. I have no idea how much time passed in this book. Didn't work for me and I have liked this author in the past. I won't give up on her because of this weak one though.

The story kept me wondering how the story would end. Holly’s character drew me right in. she was a young and innocent waitress. Her heart was broken by her ex fiancé. She had a meltdown while she was at work, and that’s how she met Prince Casper. He shielded her from on lookers while she composed herself. One thing lead to another. Holly was mortified to find out she became pregnant her very first time. Casper married her making her a princess. I do have to say she made the perfect princess by visiting and talking to people. The people loved her.
Casper had been hurt in another relationship. He thought he could never love again. Some of the mean and cruel things he said to Holly made me want to slap him. He was cold, but his action on the other hand showed he did care about Holly and her health. The chemistry and passion between the couple was always hot and steamy. Holly did love Casper. Her love was patient. She taught Casper what real love was. By the end of the book they did get their fairy tale. I was a little disappointed that the book did have an epilogue. It would have been nice to read about their life after the baby came.

Holly and Casper. The stereotypical Harlequin with a prince, a girl living in poverty, an accidental pregnancy, an OW and a vindictive ex. What more could you want right!? And it was fun, but I found Holly's lack of back bone and OTT naivety annoying. Her character gets easily manipulated into situations that you as the reader, can see coming a mile away. It was like those dreams you get where you are chased by a villain but it's like you're running through molasses. Or those horror films where the girl decides to check out the basement at night even though the light isn't working. Sooooo frustrating and annoying. I really need to stay away from the modern 'Prince' themes. They always feel too 'unreal'.

I loved, loved, loved this book. It had a feel good ending with it and reminded me of some of my favorite HP's like The Spanish Groom. /The heroine was sweet and I just loved her. She made the Prince crazy. I liked how everyone loved her and that she wasn't pretentious or anything. I know some people thought she was a doormat but I liked how she was true to herself and she loved the Prince and she had hope. This book did make me cry. The Prince was so mean and nasty at times and it just ripped at your emotions. There is a part where he just broke her heart and you could feel her pain. It was heartbreaking and how the staff cared so much they went to the prince and told him there were worried about her. When he finally realized he loved her, I truly believed it. I think he loved her all along. Even though he could be an arrogant a## sometimes, most of the time really. And I absolutely, totally, thoroughly loved the ending.

I usually enjoy Sarah Morgan's books, but this one had me on the fence. I wanted to like it but the heroine was just too damned forgiving. I don't know anyone in my life that has that level of forgiveness.
Sweet, virginal Holly met Prince Casper while working as a waitress at a rugby game. She had just been dumped by her boyfriend for not sleeping with him and was quite depressed. However, somehow within half an hour of meeting the playboy prince, her knickers are off and they are horizontal...in the Prince's box at the game!
Surprise, surprise...she gets pregnant. Yeah...unprotected sex has that affect! The charming Prince Casper accuses her of being a gold digger who wanted to trap him. So he marries this saccharine sweet girl and proceeds to make her life miserable. He's cold and curt unless they're having sex. She cries and tries to justify his crappy behavior.
He doesn't expect much from her but she magically turns into the perfect princess, with no coaching or training at all. She works herself to death trying to win him over and .... nada! Nothing. She learns few things that may explain why he's such a tool. He still continues to act like a tool. She continues to try to win him until he tells her that he will never love her or her baby. Then she shuts down and the world as they know it changes.
Until suddenly, at the end of the book, he decides that the baby he has been denying is actually his and he miraculously falls in love with her. She accepts this magical change and they live happily ever after.
So my thoughts on this story..."Inconceivable"! (I just watched The Princess Bride for the millionth time) Yes, it was a quick mindless read, however, I just did not like either of the main characters. I found Holly to be a pushover and Prince Casper to be a real jerk. I give this book a "meh"!

Audible rocks!! I just get such a rush when I see my four favorite letters strung together to make a word on their home page: SALE!
This guy, while not the biggest POS in HP existence, is definitely on the Top 30 list of all time. How many times can a woman be told that the child she is carrying is NOT his, he can't love her/doesn't do love, she wasn't a virgin when he had sex with her, she is a liar and manipulative, blah, blah, blah?
Seriously. Talk about someone in need of therapy!

Una novela adorable! me la leí de un tirón. Ame a Holly, la protagonista. Le doy 4 estrellas porque es un estilo de novela romántica que no pertenece a la gran literatura. Pero valio la pena.

I am just in love with her writing! The camaraderie between the H/h is to die for, their slinging matches so funny, in fact, this is the first book among a long list of Harlequin’s which is as emotional as it is a fun read! Looking forward to lapping up all the books Sarah Morgan’s ever written!

Anyone who knows me knows that she's my favourite author. And this book, which I'm going to re-read, is my favourite book of hers.
Book 1 of the International Billionaires Series, the introduction by the author had me in splits. Shhh... No reason at all. (I haven't read the other books of the series.)
Waitress Holly Phillips is miserable after her boyfriend Eddie dumps her (practically accusing her of her virgin status), but she has to keep her chin up since she has to work. No time to mope around, as their team is serving the royalty at the Six Nations Championship (England vs. doesn't matter).

After expert seduction by the Prince boosts Holly's morale, as far as her body image issues are concerned, they give in to their mutual desire. But, he dismisses her cruelly, due to a misunderstanding on his part and naivety on hers, following an incident. That same incident leads to Holly losing her job, two weeks later she finds that she is pregnant, and with the media hounding her she can't even go back to her flat. He has strong reasons to believe the child she is carrying is not his.
I loved Holly's sunny nature and chatty demeanour. She was a delight to read. She may have been naive but certainly doesn't take anything lying down.
Morgan nails the humour in her books, and this was no different. Sending a charming Prince and his Princess to a rugby date, that's entirely something else!
But, there is so much hurt here. And it's almost towards the end when they reveal their pasts to each other. I loved Emilio's character, Casper's head of security. He is so defensive where Holly is concerned. There was a mention of the palace cats, I'd have loved to see some in action. And the way she dismisses Casper, ha! It literally had a happy ending, but still, I missed an epilogue. There's an eight-page guide at the end though, about rugby. And Twickenham Stadium where Casper and Holly met. And the places to visit nearby.
I have read a total of six books by her till now.

Anyone who knows me knows that she's my favourite author. And this book, which I'm going to re-read, is my favourite book of hers.
Book 1 of the International Billionaires Series, the introduction by the author had me in splits. Shhh... No reason at all. (I haven't read the other books of the series.)
Waitress Holly Phillips is miserable after her boyfriend Eddie dumps her (practically accusing her of her virgin status), but she has to keep her chin up since she has to work. No time to mope around, as their team is serving the royalty at the Six Nations Championship (England vs. doesn't matter).

Currently edit our public library's NextReads Romance newsletter so am always on the lookout for new novels, series, news, vids, authors of interest etc. Read a couple of weeks ago about the English Rugby Football Union's contract with Mills & Boon to write a series of 8 novels featuring rugby players as the heroes. The release of the first book in the series is to coincide with the 2009 RBS Six Nations tournament with a shelf-date of Feb 1st. I've just scored a copy of the first book from a local branch and have spent the last couple of hours reading through it and it's not too bad, although I did think it was pushing it a bit to make him a rugby nut AND a prince. The character apparently went to boarding school in the UK and the current (in the book) captain of the national team is an old school friend. I'm from NZ and thanks to my father rugby mad so it was kinda nice to read about it in a romance novel and KNOW what they were talking about. Needless to say this will be featured in my Feb newsletter :-)

I've been catching up on my Sarah Morgan reading lately. I just adore her voice! This is a fun book with an emotionally closed off hero you want to slap and kiss at the same time, and an intrepid heroine with a sense of humor who manages to melt his barriers...eventually.
If you don't like the "jerk" alpha, then beware. Casper treads into that territory on more than one occasion -- but, for me, that only makes his redemption all the sweeter!
I know that if you are American and of a certain generation, you probably have trouble with the name Casper as it makes you think of a certain friendly ghost and his adventures. But really, put that aside and read this book anyway. I giggled a bit at first, I admit, whenever I read the name -- but it was worthwhile in the end and I got past it. (Wish I still had those Casper comic books my grandmother found for me in a second-hand shop, sigh....)

I enjoyed the characters. I think the emotions and feelings were realistic and really pulled me in. However, Holly annoyed the snot out of me.

Jadi ceritanya aku secara khusus menaruh perhatian kepada segelintir penulis HQ, yang karya-karyanya dan cara penulisan, cara membangun konflik, serta penyelesaian konfliknya bisa dinikmati olehku. Sarah Morgan termasuk ke dalamnya. Dan aku suka banget dengan cara sang penulis mengeksekusi kisahnya di dalam buku ini. Bahkan sejak pertama kali aku melewati bab 1, aku sudah suka. Yang membuatku rela memotong habis-habisan waktu tidur demi buku ini. :))
Sinopsisnya (di versi terjemahan), entah bagaimana terkesan dangkal, tapi setelah membaca sendiri kisahnya, ternyata kisahnya bagus banget lha ini. :)) Aku suka banget dengan si heroine. Meski sudah berkali-kali dikecewakan, tapi dia berbesar hati banget! Aku juga suka dengan style dan pembawaannya setelah menikah dan menjadi seorang putri. Seolah-olah membayangkan Lady Diana ketika baru menikah di masa lalu. xD Ah, i love it!

Holly, the virgin waitress, has just been dumped by her fiancee for not being glamorous enough and for not putting out. She's called into work as a waitress for the Prince of Santallia, Casper, during a rugby match and is so attracted to him she ends up handing him her v-card on a table in the middle of the match. Then, before she leaves, understanding this was a one-time deal, she kisses him...but in front of a window and all the press capture it on film. Holly is humiliated and runs off, but Casper believes she was clearly setting herself up as a media storm and writes her off. That is, until news of her pregnancy makes the headlines. Now he's forced to act...even though he knows the child can't be his, he'll have to marry Holly to satisfy his people. Holly reluctantly agrees to the marriage believing that every child deserves a father, but she's quick to realize that he still doesn't believe the child is his and that he doesn't believe himself capable of love, towards anyone. She's fallen in love with him and soon begins to doubt whether her love will be enough for their family.
Well, this was full of delightful angst and borderline asshole behavior. Casper the not-so-friendly Prince has an issue with love being a source of pain, so he has some serious emotional barriers. He's pretty cold and unfeeling a lot of the time and leaves Holly, a naturally affectionate and loving person feeling alone. I didn't see Casper as deliberately being an ass, just trying to protect himself and avoid love...and hurting the heroine in the process. So, because of that, I felt for Casper, even as he's disbelieving of the heroine and avoiding her (and her love). It's a good author who can make me feel for a hero who's acting like he was. Holly was the more negative side of the equation...I didn't hate her, but her OTT naivety and innocence were a bit grating. She's also a major social butterfly and wants desperately to connect and talk to everyone she meets, believing them all to be good people. She was borderline doormat/martyr for a good part of the story, but she found her spine in the back of the closet and managed to beat the hero upside the head with it. I liked that she refused to accept the same old platitudes like, "I loved you from the beginning and didn't know it." She tells him exactly how it was and to stop dressing it up. She does continually shoot down his apology, even criticizing the lack of apology in it, until she finally gets what she's looking for...love. Hell, I even appreciated that the hero attempted the grovel. It wasn't half-bad either as far as HPlandia grovels go - one of the better ones in my reading experience. This might have shot itself to a 4-star read, but it needed an epilogue in the worst way.

A light reading romance novella which you ought to demolish in 24 hours. Predictable but pleasing plot coupled with a smattering of light but effective enough characterisation.
Plot: Predictable, and it leaves you unable to decide if its a HEA or a HFN, an epilogue would have been nice to add some definitiveness, plus meeting the royal baby would have been nice! We are left with petty questions such as 'is it a boy or girl?' which is never really addressed.
The grand twist which explains the Prince behaviour is something any insipid idiot should be capable of appreciating; however it is still fun! When it comes to my filler-romance reads (when I'm in between books) a little bit of predictable is nice. This plot has all the potential for a major redraft and expansion to turn it into a full blood novel. For example, by adding a new character who isn't present at all - for example Prince mother? You could create a whole subplot which is lacking. Or maybe make more of Holly friend, a humorous character may spice things up a bit. But as a short story-cum-novella this plot does work well enough. Verdict on plot: OKAY.
Characterisation: decent, ticks the boxes and joins the relevant dots. Again, I'd say 'okay', respectable; but with room for improvement with a redraft.
All in all this is an imminently readable book, a page turner and perfect romance read for those in between a more committed or serious read. I enjoyed this, its objectively OKAY.

"The Prince's Waitress Wife" was my first novel from Sarah Morgan and it was responsible for making me a really big fan of the author.This review has been long delayed until now.
The story revolves around Holly and prince Casper. They meet during a prestigious rugby match where Holly is a waitress and Casper is the guest of honor.The hot passionate meeting is followed by a pregnancy which leads to a scandal and finally a royal marriage which seals the fates of two completely opposite characters.This is a story which starts from distrust and ends in love.The novel has many moments and it makes you a part of Holly and Casper's story and it has been told in a truly awesome way.
The only disappointing factor was Casper's attitude sometimes towards Holly and I am going to ignore that because I liked Holly and the story narration too much.
What made this book more special for me was the fact that Holly and Casper reminded me of a couple I personally know and respect and this made the book even more personal for me.I must have read the book for a thousand times and I still love...:)
If you love romance then this is the book for you..

The course of true love never did run smooth.
A truly enjoyable novel with the sweet, plucky girl-next-door who meets a damaged, life-hardened prince. Holly at first appears to be a gullible push-over, and Casper, a rich, spoiled jackass but hey, appearances are sometimes deceiving. In this case, they both are as they appear. At first.
Holly becomes stronger and smarter, less naive. Casper thaws and becomes a bit more accessible despite being a selfish, egotistic jerk.
I love HEA and large dashes of romance, and the entire opposites attract dynamic. There was a great twist in the middle I didn't imagine would happen.
If you enjoy working class girls with big hearts, and pompous playboy princes with no heart, and a well-written story bursting at the seams with trope, then this book is for you. If you don't, then read it anyway for entertainment. I guarantee you will be entertained.
Sarah Morgan is becoming a fast fav for me. I can't wait to read more of her work.

Really enjoyed this story. On the surface - wild sex in a hospitality box 30 minutes after meeting would probably not be my favourite start to a romance but somehow this worked really well. Caspar and Holly are a match made in heaven even if they don’t see it straight away.
Holly is such a fabulous character. Sweet but not a doormat, friendly and caring yet intuitive and strong. Caspar’s initial ‘jerk-Ness ’ is explained by the backstory and he becomes understandable and sympathetic. The dialogue is wonderful - engaging, funny and satisfying. Sarah Morgan adds piquancy and flavour to old tropes.
I would have loved an epilogue. This story really cried out for one and I was really disappointed that there wasn’t one. Even though the plot of this book is no that original... I really like it. I really like Holly, She is so innocent and talkative ... yet so strong and with so much personality. Casper? Well he is an idiot. But that doesn't change the opinion that I have of this story. I really, really, like it. Five stars.
