Another excellent book in the midnight ice series. This series has me completely enthralled, after each book I can't wait to start the next one. I'm addicted. Not one time so far while reading these books has my mind strayed. I feel like I'm experiencing everything along with the characters, whom are real, and believable, character development spot on. Each chapter lures me along with baited breath, wondering what will happen next, how will a character/characters react to what has been discovered, or about what someone did and there's a lot of discovering going on and many people doing things they shouldn't.

The series has been so well written, with attention to detail and a beautiful imagination. It keeps you in the story the whole time you're reading, I find myself thinking about it even when I'm not reading it. It's intense, fast paced with plenty of surprises. There are so many things I'm still wondering about, I guess I'll find out in the next book. Excellent story, superbly weaved, leaving you wanting more.

This is the third story in this enthralling series and I recommend you read Frost and Freeze before this one as this brilliant series is told in chronological order and you really don’t want to miss any of it - in fact, don’t bother reading my review, just get started on the books!

Alright, just in case you still want to know what I think . . . . Pandora Scott is the lead character who has had some hard lessons to learn in the first two books. Now she realises she needs friends to help her but that’s the start of another quandary for her, just who are friends, on her side, against her or just plain enemies? Nothing is quite as clear cut as it first appears and there’s so many twists and turns on this roller coaster story, you’re never quite sure if the characters you empathise with will reach to the end unscathed or not!

As in the earlier stories, there’s everything you could want from another well crafted, fast paced, action packed paranormal adventure. The cast of characters have their own motives, some overt but others hidden. Nothing is quite as it seems and that ending, just simply WOW!!! Now I can’t wait to read Shatter, the fourth and concluding story in this series with that is an eclectic mix of vampire lore and ancient Greek mythology blended by an accomplished wordsmith into a highly original paranormal adventure!

I requested and received a copy of this novel with no obligation. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Someone wants Pandora dead but she has no intention of letting that happen ever and neither does Jax. Pandora is on a race to save the world. Pandora and Jax are at the conduit with their friends Kira and Luke trying to figure out a way to stop Sam and save the world at the same time.

Pandora wants to live one life where she can go to school get an education and Jax can be the singer he has always dreamed of being, Backpacks and Smokey Bars their mottos. What more could a girl ask for? But first she must find a way to kill Sam and she needs to do it fast before the Titans can stop her. Pandora has figured out that she has been lied to all these years from one life time to another with lots of secrets in the mist of it all.

Her friend Naya is missing and Pandora must find her before she can save the world. Will they find her before it is too late? Can they save Naya and the world? Can Pandora stop Sam? Will she figure out the truth before it is too late as well?

I have followed along with Pandora from the first book Frost while she has tried to find her lost memories and watched her try to figure out how she feels about Jax and what he did once; to her journey to find a way to stop Sam and save the world and loved every minute of it. Pandora has taken us on some wonderful journeys as well jumping from one place to another and hiding in the shadows.

Fracture is filled with so many twists and turns I didn’t know which way to turn but one thing for sure is that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to get to the end to find out what Pandora or Sam was up to. Fracture likes to hold on to its secrets all the way to the end. That ending was so amazing I never saw it coming and I can’t wait to start the next journey in Shatter. I can’t wait to find out where Pandora, Sam and Jax take us next.

Can Pandora Escape her Destiny?

Fracture, the third installment of the Midnight Ice book series by Kaitlyn Davis is not what I thought it would be, but considering the author, I don't know why this is a surprise.

The Frost/Freeze/Fracture/Shatter series conveying the alternative Pandora fairy tale is quirky, contradictory, and yet, somehow, still hopeful. Pandora has been through a lot by the time she reaches Fracture. She is on the verge of recovering memories that stand in the way of her finally being able to kill Samael.

With the assistance of Jax, Pandora travels back to the Titan's stronghold, hiding under his tracker's protection. They go to rescue Naya, whom Pandora left the last time she was there. Pandora is certain that between Naya and Pavia, the Conduit Empath, she will at last have access to her earliest memories.

Once Naya is freed, they are off to Sonnyville, the Conduit's home, and the Vampire reintegration center. Naya's brother, Marco, is to be freed from Vampirism.

For Pandora, emotionally things speed up. She re-experiences her own change from Vampirism and the resulting rush of old memories flooding back. She and Jax get the closest to true forgiveness yet.

However, when Naya recovers she and Pavia agree to work with Pandora on retrieving her memories. Unexpected issues from the past raise their ugly heads. Pandora does indeed have a choice as to whether she can kill Samael or not.

If you're like me, the conclusion of the book will totally shock you. To others, not so much. Either way, be prepared to be completely unprepared for what happens. I love endings I can't predict and this one jumped out and yelled, "Boo!"

Thank you to Kaitlyn Davis for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for review! All opinions are my own.

Are we really here at the third book already?! I could have sworn I was just finishing up Frost recently and falling totally in love with Pandora and her world. But here we are at Fracture, and boy did things take off in the best way with this installment! If you're interested, you can check out my reviews of Frost and Freeze before diving into this review just in case of spoilers. Better yet, check out the links after my review to pick up Frost for only $0.99!

Plot:
Fracture is the third book in the Midnight Ice series so I don't want to give away too much about the story for those that haven't yet read Frost or Freeze. But this book picks up relatively close to where the previous one left off with Pandora and Jax hiding out in the conduit town of Sonnyville. They're trying to figure out their next step now that Pandora has found out some hard truths about both herself and her life. Now, she has to figure out how to stay alive and solve the puzzle that surrounds the not-so-mysterious-anymore Sam. Will she be able to end it all and save the world?

This was probably my favorite installment in the series so far because there was so much happening and we're able to dive even deeper into Pandora's world and even her past. One of the things that I was really excited to learn more about was the Titans and their history and Kaitlyn Davis certainly delivered all of that and more. I loved learning their origin story and was definitely caught off guard when I finally got to read about it! Another thing I was eager to read about was more of Sam and Pandora's past and, once again, I got just that. It wasn't what I was expecting and it definitely broke my heart for the two of them, but I liked learning more about both Sam and Pandora's motivations for doing what they did. There was just so much backstory that was brought to light in this book and I couldn't help but absorb every bit of information that I could.

Once again, I read through this in almost no time at all. The plot was fast paced and action packed and you really can just get lost in this world without even realizing it. It's so well-written and enjoyable to read with everything unfolding at a pace that makes it a quick and fun read. Important plot details are delivered in a way that makes you want to continue reading more to find out what happens next and before you know it, you're at the end and are dying for the next book! Fracture really takes things up a notch and has so much packed into its 201 pages that fans of the previous two books will be incredibly satisfied with the story delivered in this third installment.

Characters:
I still absolutely love Pandora and think that she continues to get better as the series goes on. She's still sassy and the same Pandora that readers will have fallen in love with in book one, but she just keeps growing and evolving into an even more fantastic character. There's so much of her backstory that's explained in Fracture and it definitely contributed to how I felt about her. She's strong and smart and yes, sassy, and probably one of my favorite characters to read about. I love that she just refuses to accept what she's been told and is instead taking charge of her own life and her destiny and basically rewriting things to how she wants them to be. She doesn't take crap from anyone and will definitely call people out when she needs to and I just love that about her. I can't imagine how she could possibly get even better, but I'm so excited to see where she goes in the final book, Shatter!

I also really enjoyed reading more about Sam as well as Jax. Again, there's more backstory introduced that involves Sam and it was great that readers were given more information about him and basically what led him to become the way he is. He's not a prominent character in this book, but he still shows up throughout bringing all of the smoke and mirrors that he's been known for. Jax was a bigger part in this one than he has been in the other books, I feel, and I really loved his character development in Fracture. There was a lot of tension between Pandora and Jax and I was really hoping that things would work themselves out by the end of this book. As much as I liked the idea of Sam and Pandora together (and honestly struggled with liking and not liking Sam throughout this entire book) I think that her and Jax are just so great together. They have such a tumultuous history together, but I absolutely love the way that their characters interact with each other! Their relationship has some pretty serious development in Fracture and after that cliffhanger ending, I'm interested to see how things go for the two of them!

Writing:
There's just something about the writing in a Kaitlyn Davis book that draws you in and makes you not want to stop. Her writing is just so easy to read and I've found this to be true about every book that I've read by her. It's so descriptive and magical and makes you feel like you're right there with Pandora experiencing everything she's doing. The setting of Sonnyville is a newer one but you really get a great sense of its environment because of how clear the writing is. Everything comes to life from the different locations that Pandora visits to the characters that she interacts with and it's always a treat to get to experience this world through the words of the author. Kaitlyn Davis truly delivers a fantastic follow up that will leave you begging for the fourth and final installment in the series!

Fracture is definitely my favorite installment in the Midnight Ice series so far. With its exhilarating plot, wonderful character development, and magical writing, this series is one you definitely don't want to miss. Be sure to pick up the first book in the series, Frost, and keep going with the sequel, Freeze, then make your way to the most intense book in the Midnight Ice series, Fracture. Trust me, this is one series you want to binge read.

Fracture is the third book in the thrilling Midnight Ice series--the brand new spinoff to Midnight Fire, a bestselling paranormal romance with over 200,000 copies sold and over 5000 5-star reviews on Goodreads!

Rating: 5/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: HOLY FLIPPERS I CANNOT EVEN WITH THAT ENDING; I'm probably just going to screech at you for this entire review, okay?; I cannot deal, I cannot deal, my heart hurts and I absolutely cannot deal; someone, quick, give me book four

Huge thanks to Kaitlyn Davis for (making my little Penguin heart SUPER HAPPY) sending me a free egalley of this title in exchange for an honest review! This in no way altered my read of or opinions on this book.

Two angels could not conceive a healthy child, no matter how many times they tried, no matter how close they got. It was what had driven him mad, what had turned him into the beast he'd become, a creature of hatred and vengeance and guilt, no longer a dreamer full of love, but the bringer of nightmares.

He could not have children, so he made monsters instead.

And I'm sorry, Penguin readers, if you've come here hoping for any semblance of coherency. The truth is, I've been enthralled with this journey from the very first word on the very first page of the very first (or, well, seeing as this is a spin-off I suppose not the VERY first but you know what I mean) book......and it just keeps getting better with each installment! I just cannot even comprehend how Kaitlyn Davis continues to surprise me with every turn; each time I think I know exactly where she's headed, she suddenly changes course and leaves me reeling, and I cannot EVEN begin to explain how much I adore that about her books!

While these characters are fighting to find their way home and to themselves, I was watching, enraptured. The sheer turn-around of my feelings for several of the characters, in fact, was almost a 180 from the way I left the first book. I'm SO completely torn, actually--Kaitlyn Davis has a nasty (and beautiful) habit of making her readers empathize with and feel for every character, even the ones they shouldn't try to redeem. And perhaps there's a reason for this--a very large portion of this book series is spent lurking in shadows, so there's a bit of play happening with all areas gray and shady. Which, honestly, is brilliantly handled in my opinion--with all the devious twists and turns the plot line takes, readers can never be FULLY sure that any of these characters are trust-worthy, lovable, or how they pass themselves off to be. Half the time, readers can't even be sure our MC is reliable--which causes a beautiful amount of second-guessing and deceptive reasoning!

"Samael," she whispered, voice hoarse. "Don't make this harder than it has to be."

"You've come to kill me, darling," he retorted with a grin. "Was it supposed to be easy?"

The plot, even three books in, remains thickly-padded and FILLED with tension. If my cup runneth over, Penguins, it runneth over with action and adventure--every moment is a race toward an ending that is, looking in knowing what's happened so far, bound to be absolutely explosive--and I am SO READY, and yet SO NOT at the same time! Despite this, Kaitlyn Davis knows how to weave a story and make it both tangible and abstract--she ties together loose ends even as she's weaving another dozen mysterious rows, and I absolutely adore how obvious it is that she LOVES this world and these characters. She puts a ton of time and love into crafting journeys that readers WANT to chase after--and leaves them coming back for more!

I just... Gahhhh, I need the next book, and I need it like two weeks ago! My poor Penguin heart is all aflutter with the crashing ending I just read, and I cannot even begin to calm the hype in my nerves right now! These characters are dynamic, complex, and so freaking squishable I wish I could reach between the pages with more than my heart. The plot is tragic and gorgeous at turn, and woven with impressive thoroughness. I definitely recommend to lovers of paranormal fantasy, mysterious characters, and a TON of gray space. Stick to the shadows like glue, Penguin friends--there are bigger secrets left to unveil!

I'm in love with Davis as an author. The previous series starring Kira was a fun read, but in this series the author I really love shines through much more clearly and I'm constantly very excited to pick up the next book and to continue the journey. I especially love how Davis used the Greek myths as inspiration but did entirely her own thing with it. And I really love how we're slowly getting more and more information and answers.

What I love about this series and these books is how it's all about the characters, their emotions and their choices. Yes, there's also a lot happening, there are some fights, there are some hard moments and the characters for sure don't get anything on a silver platter, but there's no action for the sake of action. The characters determine the direction of the plot, the characters are in control of how fast the plot moves forward.

In this book we once more get answers. We already learned about the what and why in the previous book, but in this book we learn a lot more about the technical details. And although that's a lot of information, it never felt like Davis dumped a lot of information on our heads. We discovered everything with the heroine, through her eyes. It therefore felt natural and realistic and we therefore also got the chance to guess along.

I also really enjoyed the finale of the book, especially because we all feel and know that it's only a little taste of what's to come in the final book in the series. Normally I always read another book in between two books by the same author, but it's gonna be very hard to keep up with that this time. Something truly epic is coming, something violent and hard and emotional. I really can't wait to dive into it and read it.

Umm.. I think I am still high on the story. The emotions. The never ending tension. And the damned cliffhanger.
Pandora has now Jax at her side, but they are still avoiding to talk about the most crucial events that happened to them recently. Moreover, Naya is missing, Dory refuses to use the shadows, the titans are on the hunt, the conduits are trying to help and not only by providing shelter to the runaways, and the web of lies is close to being broken. One more push, and the magic brings out all the memories locked in the past.. but will it hold the solution?
I cannot truly describe my feelings right now. But I will say this: I have read many books over the past weeks, and with all the pressure voming from my tight schedule, this was the first book I haven't been checking the remaining lenght for. I simply dived in and went on and on.. until it was over, and the ending left me crying out for more. Like, immediately. Pandora abd Jax have been through so much, their relationship suffered every break possible, and now when it finally has the chance to heal... this comes? Moreover, so much was revealed, so many questions answered, yet.nothing was really solved although it seemed so.. yeah, illusions are dangerous. You want lies? Cons? Deception? Power-hungry machinations? Just ask for it, all is in.
Brilliant story, captivating storytelling, fabulous characters, and fascinating world, all wrapped in drama, action, and deep emotions. I could not tear myself from the book, and I suspect many readers will suffer the same fate. Not that I am complaining :)

Holy moly! This series has so many twists and turns that I never know what to expect! What was starting to feel like the last of the series suddenly threw me for a loop with its shocking ending. While I’m not sure it qualifies as a true cliffhanger, this book will definitely have you desperate for more from the world of Pandora Scott.

We meet back up with Pandora and Jax in their hideout with the conduits. There is obviously still some massive tension between the two of them. Jax still feels super guilty about having betrayed Pandora to who he thought were the good guys and Pandora isn’t quite sure where she stands with any of the men in her life. Sure, there’s the wonderfully tormented Jax who is desperate for every shred of emotion she can give him, but there’s also the king of the bad boys, Sam, who has suffered lifetimes in the hopes of getting her back.

I have to admit to being a little bit on Team Sam, but this book completely turned me around. Along with this love triangle drama, there is also the larger end of the world storyline (I guess that should really be the primary story in my head, but I’m a romance addict). Pandora is more determined than ever to end this cycle of rebirth and murder one way or another. One thing we know for sure – when Pandora sets her mind to something, don’t get in her way. As I said before, the ending blew my mind and I’m sure you’ll be stunned, too. I cannot wait to see where the story takes us next!

FRACTURE BLOG TOUR 3rd October 2017

BookPolar REVIEWS

Fracture picked off roughly where Freeze left off, Jax and Dory were trying to work their many many issues, whilst hiding out in the conduit. I really enjoyed the conduit as a setting and am glad we spent the majority of the book there. After so much tension and suspicion, the conduit residents provided great comedic relief, and after Pandora has spent so much time alone, it was great to see her with a brilliant support network around her.
I love that we had much more interaction between Jax and Dory in Fracture than ever before, we had a really great insight into their relationship and got to know Jax a lot more, so much so that I think my feelings about him may be changing... slightly. Throwing my feelings about Sam into turmoil.
With some questions about Sam answered, we are now faced with more pressing matters and mysteries surrounding the Titans.
More importantly that ending... wow!!
Pandora is about to faced with a threat she doesn't know exists. I am desperate to know how she gets out of this tangle.

Wow, just wow. This is the most scary, thrilling, heartrending & brilliant book of them all, so far!! I've been on the edge of a nervous breakdown throughout the entire book, gripping 😍

Pandora & Jax, with the help of their friends in Sunnyville, start to piece things together about Pandora's past lives. Truths come out about Jax too, Gulp 😳 One of the biggest realizations is heartrending for Jax as well, it calls everything into question!!

They have to travel back to the enclave on an urgent mission during which other Titan's eyes are opened to their new truth with surprising consequences. Pandora finally knows her true power & who she was to be able to wield it.

The conclusion of book 3 is awful, it's heartbreaking, claustrophobic, unbelievable & will leave you full of loathing!! You've been warned 😉 The fourth & final book is Shatter, it's downloaded & ready to read. I'll see you on the flip side, wish me luck!!

Fracture by Kaitlyn Davis is the third book in the Midnight Ice series. Pandora discovers things about Jax and about Sam. Now she has to choose between them and stay strong to keep her choices with conviction. Pandora has deep loyalty to her werejaguar friend, Naya and she’ll do whatever it takes to save her. I love Pandora, her loyalty and integrity. The author’s descriptive language brings the characters to life and makes the setting beautiful at times and other times painful but always real enough to put me inside the story and into Pandora’s world. The ending is a cliffhanger and has left me anxious for the next and final book of this series. 5 stars for this supernatural fantasy!

This is book 3 of the Midnight Ice series and these books are getting better and better as they go along. I love the cover of this book it’s bright and sexy and it really suits this book as did the others. There’s a lot more going on in this book and Pandora is more of a kick a$$ in the book and I didn’t think that was possible. Sorry guys I’m not giving any spoilers but if you have the first two books Frost and Freeze then you will understand why I’m not. Fantastic read and I so love Pandora, Jax well he’s made a lot of stupid mistakes and I don’t know if I will ever like him. There’s many twists and turns and plenty of action and I highly recommend this book / series it’s well worth the read.

Dory and Jax are safely waiting in Sonnyville for their werejaguar friend Naya to arrive. But weeks later she still hasn’t shown up and they need other options. Dory is able to get more info from the mysterious Sam, but it’s not until Pavia is able to read Jax’s mind and pull out the memories he physically can’t tell them that things start to come together.

Very complicated, unusual combo of the Fallen Angel/Pandora/Persephone stories. I’m glad Jax is exonerated. He tried to tell her, but she selfishly wouldn’t listen.

Fave scenes: Pavia showing Dory what happened to Dax during the initiation and Jax’s realization of the truth.

Wow! Didn’t expect that ending. Pandora is learning more about her past and Jax is falling more in love with her. Can Dory forgive Jax? Excellent action scenes, mind boggling memories, wonderful characters make this book a great addition to the series. The ending is one you don’t want to miss. Loved the book.

Such an adventure!

Wow. Pandora and Jax are at it again. They need to find Nayla in order to save the world. She can open Pandora's mind in order to reach the knowledge of her past lives. To do this, they need to break into the enclave. Get ready for a fun loving adventure. Amazing read. Couldn't put it down.

How to kill the darkest of the fallen angels? The answer lies within, but in the meanwhile, Pandora suffers from more and worse nightmares ... To distort a famous quote by Walter Scott : "What a tangled web she wove ..."

Another great book that has you hooked from the start. I love to see how the story progresses and can't wait for the next one.

I love me some Pandora! I was really excited to dive back into the wonderful world of vampires and Titans. Pandora finds out that she doesn't have to die. The Titans have been keeping a deadly secret from her and that she has the power to control her own destiny. Watch out for that ending though, its tricky.

I really enjoyed this story and I know a lot of fans of urban fantasy will love Fracture.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

Title: Fracture
Author: Kaitlyn Davis
Genre: New Adult, Paranormal
Format: Ebook - ARC
Pages: 201
Rating: 5
Heat: 3

Thoughts: OMG I need the next book now!!! As much as I hate cliffhangers I’m happy that there’s at least one more book. I love the characters and knowing I get to spend more time with them is worth having to wait for the next book. And what a ride this one was! It starts off a little slow but only because Pandora and Jax are hiding and waiting. Once a plan was formed it was non-stop, holy crap, you’ve got to be kidding me moments until the very end. At one point I wished I was there to give Pandora’s dad a few kicks and punches, total douche! And I really hope we find out what Jax’s parents did after they woke up (that’s all I’m gonna give you lol I’m so evil). It’s so hard not to tell you about this part and that part, oh, and the other part. SOOOO GOOD!!!

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.

It seems with a few of these series I have read, they become a bit long winded. It appears that authors and publishers have a set number of books in mind and the story then tends to suffer.

Fracture is another amazing entry in the Midnight Ice series, Kaitlyn Davis has outdone herself again. Fracture begins a week after Pandora and Jax arrived at the conduit haven, They are still waiting for the arrival of Naya even though she should have arrived by then. Pandora is still plagued by the memories/nightmares of Sam and their tumultuous past, but at least she has Jax's shoulder to lean on (literally and figuratively) albeit hesitatingly. Pandora has being staying away from the shadows though every fibre of her being is yearning for it, She put all her frustration into training with Jax. She had a lot to improve on when it comes to her fighting skills to get to the level of a titan her age, She also kept trying to understand the magic in the Titan's tattoo and what exactly it's made of. Help comes in the form of Pavia who apparently retains her ability to read minds/memories, She helped in having some pretty important revelations that pretty much changes the whole scenario and brings a possible new villain (well not exactly new). A confrontation with Sam left Pandora even more restless and devastated as she got some answers to the questions she had. Learning about Naya being in the custody of the Titans was the final straw before they finally decided to mounting a stealthy rescue mission. I really love the fast pace and the action of the series, It's all so well put together it flows seamlessly. Various twists and turns left me gasping because everything I think I know always tends to change. I commend Kaitlyn Davis for writing such a compelling series that keeps getting better and better with each installment, Her growth as an author is obvious and the quality of her writing keeps increasing. Fracture is definitely not a book that is to be missed. The romance is so on point, Things became so clear and made Pandora and Jax once more my favorite couple. They show what true love is, a love borne from joy and pain, a love that's like an everlasting burning flame. I definitely adore their chemistry and that hotel scene is the best one EVER!!. The moments before the ending was so crazy, it was a whirlwind of amazing action. So many things I didn't see coming. But the suspense definitely escalates, I can't wait for Shatter because I definitely need to know what's next. Pandora's journey away from darkness towards the light is a treat every reader should enjoy. Fracture is a combination of quality writing, amazing magic, enchanting supernaturals, hot romance, action, humor, adventure, mystery, a beautiful cover and really nasty villains, I happily recommend it.

P.S: The supporting characters are so amazing, their camaraderie is just astonishing and it's really nice to catch up with them i.e: Kira, Luke, Tristan,Pavia and Naya though she's sorta new.
