This was an unexpected gem of a find. I really enjoyed reading about Brianna and her struggles to form a cooking business in Monster City. I feel like through the course of her building her business she will learn so much about herself and about others. The artwork was great and vibrant. Boom Box is slowly becoming one of go to publishers for comics right behind Image Vertigo and D.C.

This was a cute quick read. I liked how Brianna's internal struggle with her self confidence was written and illustrated. This short volume packed a punch. I do hope that Brianna continues to gain more confidence and body positivity. If their is going to be a plus size character, I hope the entire series isn't her obsessing over her weight or not thinking she's not good enough because of it. Otherwise this was a good start to what appears to be a fun series. The illustrations were also really good.

New favorite right here. The artwork's amazing, the coloring's one of the best, the story's great, and the characters are awesome. I also loved the details, especially the decision to have Suzan with only a couple of sharp teeth in many of the panels 👍🏼👍🏼

Every now and then I read graphic novels, I like to read these between books or at night to just have something light and easy to read at times. I read the first of the four issues of Brave Chef Brianna recently and I enjoyed it. I got this book from Hoopla via my public library so please keep that in mind if you want to check it out.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Brave Chef Brianna is about a girl named Brianna whose father is ill and dying. He starts this competition amongst his children to earn his inheritance. They must each open their own restaurant and the most successful one will get the inheritance. Brianna’s siblings all have experience and she is fresh out of school. She loves to cook but she does not have experience with the business side. However, Brianna looks around online and finds a cheap place to rent in Monster City. Now, this is just as the name suggests a city full of monsters. So far they have not eaten any people or been like rampaging cities they are just like people but they are monsters. They also have these rules that they can not eat certain people food, I believe there were three. No sugar, No flour, and no cooked meat. So this really limits what she would be able to make a monster. But nevertheless, some of her first customers are monsters who come in with a human who has tried her food and loved it. She fumbles a little at first but ultimately is successful with her cooking for them and they love her food and want to come back.
She has a monster waitress that she has hired to work with her and at the end of this volume, there is this ominous presence which hooks you for the next one. The illustrations were very well done and appealing to the eye. The colors were rich and pleasing to look at for a while and I will definitely be giving the second volume a chance. Overall, I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars, it was just a little short and I felt like I wanted more to happen before volume one ended.

I am really into a graphic novels/comics mood and this was a good pick.
Made me want to read more.

Whould that be because she grew up surrounded by brothers ?
It surely made her though.
Anyway, Brianna is a strong and cute little character.

Brianna is fresh out of culinary school with a love for baking cakes. I was hoping we would continue on with her love of cooking cakes and get a bakery of her own. Spoilers we don't. Her family is huge, the monster town was cool and the monster artwork is fantastic, sadly that can't make up for the lack of a good story.

Cooking stories always win my heart. Brianna finds her way in the food business, and makes good friends along the way. I am not actually a fan of monsters, but this one is for all you monster fans out there!

Kto chciałby być jedynym ludzkim kucharzem w mieście potworów? W dodatku ludzkie jedzenie jest tam zabronione przez prawo. Młoda odważna kucharka pomimo niespodzianek podejmuje się niełatwych zadań w miejscu z dala od domu. Świetny początek nie mogę sie doczekać aby zobaczyć co dalej. ✨

Much better than I was expecting; the summary kind of undersells it by talking more about the competition between Brianna and her brothers, when that's a minor aspect in the actual comic.
