As a writer, he is best known for his work in connection with the television series Doctor Who and its spin-offs in other media. As an actor, he is best known for playing Dick Kirrin in the British 1978 television series The Famous Five.

It's one big, one-stop-shop episode guide to the 26 year run of classic "Doctor Who", and being the geeky boy I was, I read & re-read this back to front, over and over, and never once got tired of it. The inclusion of the comic strips and the interview with "Terminus" director Mary Ridge make for an awkward fit, but their inclusion is redeemed by being entertaining & informative in equal measure. A slice of golden nostalgia.

Although packaged like the kind of annual you would get as a kid for Xmas, this is a much more serious and well-researched chronology of the first 33 years of Doctor Who in all its iterations. There are a couple of lightweight comic strips and a crossword, but otherwise the focus is very much on the production and reception of the series. An invaluable guide to 'Classic' Who, ending just before confirmation of the TV Movie.
