The first book of this author's I've read, it was picked up on a whim. It's a sort of fantasy/supernatural/contemporary mix- set in modern day, but with witchcraft involved. It was kind of weird, because it's explained that Wiccans in this book (which the MC Delilah is) have magical abilities/can perform witchcraft (vs. real life Wiccans who can't), and that anyone, really, can learn witchcraft. The book is set in Los Angeles in the Hollywood area, and opens with Delilah doing something she's been doing since the death of her husband- picking up guys at bars for a one night stand. She ends up sleeping with the main love interest/ other MC, Brandon, but her forgetting spell doesn't quite work properly on him and things go from there.
I'd say that it's a light read, but it does cover some heavy topics that are a bit upsetting- like finding out about Delilah's history and the whole thing wither her husband, and the complicated relationship she had with her younger and more powerful sister, Juliet (aka Jules). I was pretty mad at that information, and Delilah is haunted by what she thinks she did and that huge betrayal in the past. She has issues with trust and relationships, but learns to heal and love again in the course of this story. I didn't quite feel the falling in love thing that much, but Brandon was a sweet (if somewhat bumbling in his "revenge" idea) and caring guy. Poor dude was conflicted and confused after figuring out she was a witch. I enjoyed reading about their relationship and how he helped her. I also liked Delilah and her brother Tristan's relationship. A lot of the story is her coming to terms with her past, and I loved the cooking details since she is a chef. Overall, it was a nice, sweet read with a hint of fantasy.
This was fun, a real page turner. I stayed up too late reading it when I needed to go to work the next day. However, I either wanted there to be more magic-up the anti make it more paranormal or have a more realistic view of Wicca, other than that I really enjoyed the story and liked the characters. At times both main characters needed a good smack to the back of the head, but just like real people they had communications issues. I mean just talk already, say what you need too! The supporting cast was just enough to support the main characters and keep the story moving. They did not interfere to the point that their stories began to interfere or distract me from Delilah and Brandon, but there was enough info on them (Tristan and Yasmin) that I am looking forward to reading their stories.
I wish magic spells really did exist, especially the harmless but fun ones in this book! This was a fun read about a witch named Delilah and Brandon, her poor, unsuspecting one night stand that didn't get work out as she planned. Delilah is struggling to cope with some things that life threw at her and Brandon gets caught in the middle of it, but these two are just drawn together.
One thing I do struggle with is when problems would easily be avoided with a little communication, and this book was certainly like that, but it worked.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
A cute and spicy witchy romance, with a love spell that goes wrong. Second chance love story with two people that's from different worlds. Love the characters and an easy quick read. I recommend this book to urban fantasy lovers
I enjoyed the beginning but then Brandon had a personality change, which ruined it for me, and I ended up flipping through the rest of the story! Glad this was a freebie.
Author is long winded and repetitive. Characters development is lacking. Both main characters are in their own head to much. There is way to much inner monologue that repeats over and over again. I skipped 5 characters and picked the story right back up because Brandon and Delilah rehashed every little thing over and over and over.
This one was raw and emotional. There’s more than one form of grief. Delilah is working through so much of her past, and Brandon has just dug in his heels to help her. Can their romance survive and blossom into love?

I made myself finish this book. I enjoyed it but it was slow and very talky. Almost like teen angst. And instead of talkin like adults they did literally ANYTHING else. Well written just didnt like either of the characters
I liked the premise of the book but about halfway I started to falter. It was a bit like the author decided they were tired and wanted to go on to something else.
Paranormal stories have been a big part of my reading experience. I was reading Twilight before it became a thing everyone wanted to talk about. Vampires, and werewolves are predominate in the paranormal romance genre because in most stories they tend to mate with their romantic counterparts. Meaning that they are automatically connected in such a visceral way that something like cheating on their partner and all the disasters that can come after that are impossible.
Then step in the witches who generally have regular lives except for the fact that they have magical powers that practically puts everything at their finger tips if they so desire, but they cannot escape the human romance fallacies that have been known many a person. In Wishcraft the author Savannah Kade brings to live believable characters and situations with a touch of magic.
Im Wiccan have been for 20 years now, and I generally want to love stories about witches. I think I will like Yasmine's better. The story had depth, but it was too LA for me. First rule of white witchcraft is no spells on a particular person unless asked. Black witchcraft is an inherently selfish action that leads to really bad consequences. Delilah uses black witchcraft for her own selfish gains and sees nothing wrong with it. Tristan who was raised in the same faith sees nothing wrong with it as well. I liked the story especially Brandon and his never ending quest for the perfect pumpkin cake. I just wish the moral of the story wasn't so amoral.
Generally, I liked the storyline and I liked Brandon and Delilah's story. However, Brandon was an idiot. He violated the first rule of the Wiccan religion and that is to do no harm to anyone. In his quest for Revenge, he ended up hurting not only Delilah but himself. The author also seems to have confused Wiccan with witchcraft. For those who don't know, Wiccan is a religion where as witchcraft is a practice. The author did not delineate between the two and she should have because there is enough fallacies about both.
This was a great read and I really enjoyed the plot and details. Both main characters had equally great qualities and I enjoyed their interaction. However, I feel like the author could’ve taken more care to research Witchcraft (which is a practice) and Wiccan (which is a religion). Would’ve been a five star read otherwise. Other than that, I felt like all the main and supporting characters in this book were well written with real life problems and qualities. I will definitely be reading the next book at some point.
I thought this was a great read. It makes witchcraft totally believable, not extreme. Delilah and Brandon's journey is filled with emotion, laughter and sadness. The ability to accept someone as they are and the unexplainable. This is the 1st book by Savannah Kade I've read and I'd def like to read more in the series.
The characters in this book are as large as life you feel like you are there with them. You The story is different and pulls you in so you wish you could do magic. It makes you close to tears but it also makes you smile I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This story was not fun. There weren't any warm, cuddly moments between the characters because they had true feelings for each other; it was due to drug (magic) influence. The whole story read like a glossed-over approval for date-rape incidents. Definitely not my idea of a romance.
This was a 5 novel bundle for $1.06 on Amazon. So I got this book for 21 cents!
I really liked this one. The H/h are relatable. The heroine is a witch of the Wiccan religion. She has some power, but has a messed up background. The hero is an ordinary guy with no powers, but he tries to learn. The HEA was satisfying!
Delilah is a witch who was hurt badly in her past, so she doesn't trust people. She occasionally picks up a guy in a bar, then puts a forgetting spell on him.. But it didn't work on Brandon. She keeps pushing him away but he keeps coming back. They have a lot of misunderstandings that would not have been a problem if they had just communicated with each other. But it was a good story and I added a new author to my list.
The first four chapters or so were very well written with wit and humor. That level wasn't quite maintained and some of the humor would not have been as appropriate as the story got more serious.
Book definitely lives up to its name! I loved the details, the character build, the story, well, I guess everything about it! I couldn't put it down! Super pumped for rest of Magick series!!!
I loved the back and forth between the characters. The story was well written and moved along well. I was so invested that I couldn't stop reading unless I had to. I need to read more of the series to answer all of the questions I still have....great cliffhanger.
Savannah Kade does not disappoint. As always, characters are well developed, plot is tight and draws you in from the first page. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Nice easy beach or pool read. Not too deep, just fun with enough drama to keep interesting without bogging down. Liked it enough to look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Fun , entertaining and interesting twist to being a Witch. It explains some the mystery around the Wicca beliefs. The characters were funny and believable, the interaction between H/h is comical and hilarious.
