Solid selection of Christmas stories. My partner and I attempt to read one story a night (yes, we're adults) during the month of December. I understand why The Little Match Girl is consistently added as Christmas story in anthologies, but it's not really the kind of Christmas story you want to read to cheer you up or to reminisce about holiday magic.

Bonus: My copy has a feeble attempt at calligraphy from a 9-year-old me on an end page.

I really enjoy this book. It has a wide variety of Christmas tales with big pictures. This book is easy to read for kids. They will enjoy this book very much. Some of my favorite stories in this book are The Wishing Star, The Little Match Girl, The Magic Toy Shop, The Twelve Days of Christmas, The Christmas Bear, and The Tiny Elf. I love the lessons in these stories.

We almost completed this book as a read-aloud for my K4 and 1st grade boys during the month of December. (homeschoolers) It was great for their ages, with most of the well-known short stories of Christmas, and many other less well-known stories. There were pictures on every page with about 2-3 paragraphs of text. It does include stories of Santa, like the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas," and other stories.

I read this ~every Christmas as a child and decided to return to it this year as an adult. Great memories, and a very sweet collection that is bound to put you in a Christmas mood. :)

This book is a collection of short Christmas stories that you could tell every night(19 nights if you do 1 a night)leading up to Christmas. A lot of them are good, this us my take one each one.

*A Christmas Carol*
A very very very very short version of this but cute.

*The Wishing Star*
A sweet story of a young boy just wanting his brother homes. I love the innocence of this story.

*The Little Match Girl*
This story is very sad. I understand the meaning behind it and it is very well written. But I would not consider this a Christmas story. The young girl in this story had no one and nothing and died in the snow on a cold Christmas Eve night. She was taken to heaven where she would be happy and warm and loved and never be hungry again. Although the ending is sweet it's also very sad and very dark.

*The Christmas Mouse*
I love the wimsey of this story! The sweet celebration of a family together on Christmas. 2 families actually big and small :)

*Jingle Bells*
A young boy just wants to be old enough to write in the sleigh. He gets upset when he can't go but has fun anyway. Then he gets a big surprise and the story ends very happily.

*The Magic Toy Shop*
I love this story so much! Reminds me of stories from my childhood. This story shows that when you band together anything is possible!

*The Littlest Angel*
This story was cuteVery unlike any story I've ever heard about an Angel or baby Jesus but very cute.

*The 12 Days of Christmas*
This was just the whole song but with pictures. Meh.

*The Christmas Bear*
This little story made me smile and tear up a little bit. I feel like I was that little girl once! Beautifully written.

*T'was The Night Before Christmas*
A classic tale and every time I have read it it's been Out loud. I love it!

*The Nutcracker*
This was the shortest version of this I have ever come across but I honestly loved it.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town*
Mike and Sam :) Doing what kids do arguing fighting and having a little fun on the way good job santa. If you're reading this book to your kids this is something that they are going to relate to haha

*The Tiny Elf*
This story was show incredibly adorable! He was little Elf that could! Christmas Elf of the year! I definitely recommend this one!

*O Christmas Tree*
This was the best story I've ever read about a Christmas tree or centered around the song. I really hope you can replant a Christmas tree.

*The Elves and The Shoemaker*
I read something similar to this before but it had a darker ending and I really prefer this one. The elves were repaid and delighted instead of and inslaved and mistreated.
Very very good story.

*The Little Drummer Boy*
For reasons I can't explain the song little drummer boy always makes me cry and this also made me cry. It was a very cute story and I really like the way it was told better than any I've heard.

*Christmas Carols*
This chapter is a collection of Christmas carols. Jolly old Saint Nicholas, Christmas is coming are 2 songs I'm not too familiar with. The 1st one I feel like i know i just can't put my finger on it. I'm going to have to look them up. Also I found that I've been singing O Christmas tree wrong my whole life haha

*The Happy Snowman*
Frosty the snow man with a slightly sadder ending with a little bit of uncertainty there... Still cute.

*Rudolph's Adventure*
This is a very strange version of "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" In this version Rudolph has a sled and goes to hang out with other a kid reindeer and they're making snowmen and playing and they don't like him and santa comes into his room which by the way is in a house and wakes him up from his bed that hes laying on and tells him I need your help and he writes a note to his parents and leaves haha wasnt a fan.

This is a beautiful book! There are so many stories! There were even a few I didn't know. The illustrations on every other page are beautiful. This is a book that I plan to reread every Christmas season! ♥

It's an enjoyable read for my toddler around the holidays. I don't love all the stories ("The Little Match Girl" is a bit dark), but most are fun.
