I did not like this book because I did not like the part when a bunch of fairies fell into a trance. The fairies were good.

Hm. A redemption story. Interesting.
The King is doing something no monarch does in real life anymore, as far as I know. King Caleb is outside the castle so commoners who wish to speak to him face-to-face can do so. Meanwhile, fairies from Primlox have been put into a trance by mysterious music that sounds like a flute and they fly into the sky to follow a strange cloud, leaving Falsk behind. The only problem is, she's known as the false fairy for basically being the fairy who cried wolf a ton. It's a good little sequel, but it is without a problem aside from Falsk's bad reputation. It was like the adventure was too easy. I also think Grom should've admitted to the beast that he had one of the beast's scales which he got from a fisherwoman. 🤷 3 stars.

119 pgs. This installment features a fairy named Falsk who is not the most honest fairy in the land. She plays lots of mean pranks on other fairies and has earned a bad reputation in the process. When the other fairies drift into a strange cloud in a trance-like state, Falsk seeks help from the local king. Lucas begs his father to join the official party searching for the missing fairies. He and Clara go out on another adventure. Kids will enjoy this one, especially the magical parts. Highly recommended for Grades 3-5.

My Review: I have really been enjoying this series and this was another great book. I like the message behind the story about telling too many fibs and finding it hard for anyone to believe you but also about giving a person another chance. This story did feel a bit rushed, either the journey needed a little more or the resolution needed a little more, it just fell a little flat at the end. I did really like the play on a sirens song, it was a fun twist to read as an adult.

We definitely felt like this story had its plot cut off towards the end. Even my daughter questioned the ending. All of the other adventures had a typical plot line with a problem, climax, and solution. And while there was a solution here to an extent, it kind of ended mid-solution with you having to fill in the nice little bow on top.

We would have liked another chapter with the fairies thanking Lucas and Clara and Falsk for helping them. Something like that so that you saw the full extent of Falsk's redemption.

Read aloud. This series has always been a little silly to me, and this installment felt really contrived. My kids are still enjoying so we will keep reading, but I do enjoy some other series better as read alouds for this age.

Really enjoyed the adventure and mystery of this one! This was more of a bravery feeling and not a moral lesson like the past few have been. Unicorns next!
