Los tomos introductorios siempre han sido muy importantes para mí. Aunque memorizar muchos nombres me cuesta, con este no me pasó algo del estilo.
Y aunque de vez en cuando me vi en problemas tratando de descifrar lo que sucedía durante las batallas, debo decir que tanto las historia como los giros de esta me tuvieron los suficientemente entretenida para solamente soltar un woah cada que la Night Raid se ponía a pelear.
En conclusión, ya quiero ponerme manos a la obra con el segundo tomo.

This was a cool little first volume about Assassins.
What started off as a typical "I want to save everyone" quickly turned into a darker more fucked up look at what people in power use their powers for. Once we get the reveal the question of morality rises. Even if you're killing or hunting people who've done "bad" things, you must keep in mind you're still murdering people. Which I think brings up a good question of what really is right or wrong, and when killing is justified.
What helps is the fights are easy to follow here, making them a lot of fun to view. The characters have a good range too and even the most badass characters have funny moments which surprises me. Also having a openly gay character and not hide behind "maybe or maybe not" bullshit they do is nice. The tone shifts a lot though and sometimes serious moments get ruined for a gag, and while funny, can feel odd.
But overall, I'm intrigued where we will go with this series. Reading more for sure.

A group of (mostly) girl assassins taking on a corrupt government? I'm in! As usual, I have the worst time following the fight scenes, but the back stories on these characters are awesome. This is a definite rec for anime club and works for Unmasked- the 2015 summer reading program!

I have seen this anime already but I just want to read the manga because why not! This is just a really good anime and since I only watch the anime, I must have been far from the manga. I can't wait for the next volumes. This is just going to be refreshing memories, LOL.

What started as a fairly typical set up....
Young guy Tatsumi enters the city to save his Village....
Soon goes sideways with some sudden gore and acts of violence.
The whole city is corrupt/evil and Tatsumi is soon aligned with the NIGHT RAID a band of mostly female assassin's intent on fighting the city.

NOTE: This is a review of the whole series, which has 80 chapters and 15 volumes.
I read the series in a week, but I think I will remain scared for at least a year.
I usually like shonen manga (max, I complain because there is too much action and not enough character development), but this one made me throw up in my mouth so many times I lost count. Multiple instances of (on page) rape, drug abuse, and blood were just too much (once is fine; twice is ok-ish; three times is already too much).
If you are wondering: "Why didn't this person just DNF it?" Well, I was hoping it redeemed itself - it did not.
What I liked:
🗡️ the sense of camaraderie of the Night Raid
🐉 the fact that not all
🦁 Akame and Mine
🪡 the illustration style
💉 women in positions of power 🧞♀️
What I disliked:
🔫 the limited character development
⚔️ random enemies popping out from nowhere (a bit better than in Dandadan, where enemies literally pop out from nowhere, but there are often too many crammed into a few chapters, which made me lose interest)

La verdad es que lo que he leído, me ha gustado. Takahiro define bien sus personajes, te hace sentir como si los conocieras desde siempre. Tiene acción mezclada con drama y humor. Como aspectos negativos, hay algún diálogo clave, por así decirlo, que es un poco de besugos y yo quitaría el fan service que siempre me hace restar puntos a una buena trama, pero en fin… como no es exagerado y la trama pinta bien, lo paso por alto.
El dibujo me gusta, tiene dinamismo y es bonito de ver. Si bien no es el mejor que me he encontrado, desde luego cumple mis expectativas.

Aaaaah, I loved this first volume. I'm already in love with the characters, the Night Raid could murder me and I'd thank them. Can't wait to see what happens next.

I can't do it anymore. This is honestly one of the worst manga I've ever read. It's gratuitously violent, fanservicy, and utterly adolescent in all regards. In addition, it's about as entertaining as socks. By that, I don't mean to compare it to that awesome pair of over-the-knee socks everyone's wanted at least once in their life. I mean to compare it to the itchy, too tight, grey wool socks that some well meaning relative gets you for Christmas. It's boring, unwieldy, and takes otherwise pleasant elements and forms them into something absolutely ridiculous and painful. However, enough with the weird metaphors. There is nothing enjoyable whatsoever about Akame ga Kill, except possibly making fun of it. And even that's not fun, because it isn't even so bad it's good, it's so bad you wonder why you're even wasting your time with a done-to-death, trope-filled manga stuffed to the brim with characters suffering from same-face syndrome. I am hard pressed to think of even a single redeeming factor for this manga, and I can only say that it is not worth anyone's time, and you're probably better off reading something completely different if you're looking for dark fantasy.
As an addendum- don't believe the people who refer to Akame ga Kill as "the Game of Thrones of anime." It's not. They're barely even the same genre, and they most definitely do not cover the same themes.

June 11, 2019Very hard "maybe," I absolutely loath tsundere characters (At least when they face no consequences for their behavior which usually happens, unfortunately.) and Mine in the anime pissed me off. So we'll see lmao.

This was a really good read. It was a lot of potential. It’s a very strong start to the series. I have a lot of questions as to what exactly is so special about Night Raid and their choice of weapons, but I’m sure I’ll find out soon enough.

Clásico manga shonen de peleas de libro. La historia parece que se la vaya inventando a medida que pasan los capítulos y que realmente solo tenga pensadas las peleas, el lore de las armas imperiales y la ambientación. Los males de este tipo de historias... Eso sí, entra como el agua y el personaje principal todavía no es increíblemente insoportable.

Tatsumi sueña con ganar suficiente dinero para salvar su aldea trabajando en la Capital, debido a una situación el grupo de amigos con el que venía se separa y termina llegando solo. Justo cuando sus sueños es entrar al ejército es roto, aparece una mujer que lo engañarán y quedará sin dinero y sin esperanza.
Cuando ya esta dispuesto a dormir en la calle parecen Lady Aria una chica que le gusta ayudar a los demás, debido a que la mansion en la que vive junto a su familia es asediada por Night Raid, ¡un equipo de asesinos despiadados que atacan a miembros de alto rango de la clase alta!
Tatsumi aprende lastimosamente que las apariencias pueden ser engañosas, que la Capital y sus ciudadanos no son lo que dicen ser.

Para ser mi primer manga me gustó, tiene solo 4 capítulos pero con mucha información, al principio no sabía como seguían las secuencias pero después le tomas en hilo, las ilustraciones increíbles.
Me gusto que se contará un poco de la historia de los personajes y por que luchaban contra el imperio.

after reading my first manga ever which was prison school, i was actually debating whether i should continue this path, and keep on reading some manga along my reads each month, so while here sitting on the weekend and not feeling so good, i picked this one up, and finished it in 2 hours!
i just loved the story, and reminds me so much of a lot of anime i used to watch, which is typical, since anime is a diversion of manga after all! haha
but basically i went into this book not feeling much, and not knowing much about it either, which was fine with me, cuz i didn't think it would be any different from the previous one, however, it did and it changed my mind about not reading manga.
it's a good way to start down this path, full of action, exciting plot, interesting characters, twisty roads to follow.

Always wanted to give this series a go and I’ve gotta say I’m really enjoying this one. As a first volume this did its job excellently, great action, great artwork, and characters I enjoy. The dark undercurrent here isn’t overdone to the point of being cringy and Tatsumi as a MC rides the line between being badass yet not so badass that he’s infallible or untouchable.
We get a look at a couple of different assassinations here as Tatsumi shadows some of the more seasoned members of night raid while pulling his own weight quite a few times too.

I've been listening to the OST for the anime and I wanted to read the manga! I've only got the first two volumes and I really want the others!! I absolutely loved this volume and the beginning of this story! I will be reading the next one soon!

Excelentes gráficos, buena historia y con personajes geniales. Sigue las aventuras de Tatsumi como nuevo miembro de Night Raid, una banda de asesinos que pretende purgar la corrupción que carcome el Imperio. Amé el anime y el manga pinta igual de bueno.

Either way, this book was pretty fun. Sure, it’s a little stereotypical for an action manga but its still fun.
