What a disappointment, I was expecting more. When I read here that it was 140 pages I thought, "that's good, I'll have enough to read and I will see things from Rowan's perspective." I never been so wrong.
The book ends with 20% yes 20%, which should take around 28 pages, the rest are the first chapters of Trial by Fire.
Regarding the story itself is a repeat of Trial by Fire, I already known that from the start, but this time we have Rowan's point of view. I liked to read a little bit more about him and how he sees things. We have more details about him and I think it was very interesting.
Now as you can imagine 28 pages equals 1 or 2 chapters. I enjoyed reading it but couldn't have a closer view of Rowan's feelings of Rowan or how he thinks. I think it served more to revive my memory in order to buy the second book in the series and keep everything fresh in my mind.
I will not say it was a waste of time, because I really like this author and these characters, but it was a big disappointment because I was waiting for more, so much more.
