Ok, this one had me on the edge of my seat!!! I knew there was a reason why they made all the gym leaders gather up before hand; the twist on the characters who do show up to fend off the Seven Sages actually made me proud of them; this showdown was amazing, and while I did not like how basically the villains got away, I enjoyed the set up for the next chapter.

Alright, we have the climactic conclusion to the Black and White Saga, and we're hitting the ground... walking because we're back with Cilan, Chili, and Cress in their altercation with the bowl cut triplets. I do have to admit it was nice to see a bit of their background and see them evolve as trainers as well as their pokemon. (It's always exciting to see the pokemon evolve.) Keldeo gets involved on the gym leader's side which causes Terrakion, Virizion, and Cobalion to also get involved, and when the bowl cut triplets are backed into a corner they release the Ancient Hunter. Dun dun dun. He goes right after Keldeo, but Cobalion and Virizion (probably Terrakion too, but that's unclear) sacrifice themselves instead. They turn to ice? stone? and end up sinking into the water outside of P2 Lab's island.

Okay, side bar, I didn't realize this at first, but I now know who the Ancient Hunter is because I'm already knee deep in Black 2 White 2 vol. 1. I guess sometimes it pays to slack off on reviews and learn something new when I start flipping through old volumes. It's also why these Pokemon Adventures reviews are more like summaries because sometimes I get really ahead and I'm just trying to figure out what the eff actually happened in whichever volume. Anyway, this particular story line, I'm sure, we will see continue in Black 2 White 2. For now though, this is all we get.

Now back to Reshiram, I mean, Black. He's in a violent rage and threatening Zinzolin, when Ghetsis brings up the Team Plasma complex from freaking right under the Pokemon League building. Drayden and Iris are helping the civilians escape, and the kidnapped gym leaders (now including Brycen) are trussed up like chickens at a meat market.

Black and N are getting into it with Reshiram and Zekrom. The Elite Four jump onto the fray. And, ugh, Grimsley irks me. First, he doesn't want to help, then he does, then he snaps at and bosses Shauntal around. You better step back, Man!

Anyway, it's just wild and glorious chaos from there. The seven sages are there, Team Plasma serfs, brave civilians trying to save the gym leaders, the Elite Four vs the weather legendaries. Looker's there doing something. Later, the freed gym leaders start wailing on these guys too. So much to look at. These finales are really the most exciting part of the story.

Cut to White who wakes up in N's room and is told a tragic tale by N's two attendants of how Ghetsis adopted down and out orphan N (who's name is actually Natural Harmonia Gropius which explains why he would want to shorten it to N lol) and subsequently groomed him to be the king of Team Plasma. No wonder that dude is messed up. White is reunited with Gigi, and the two leave to try to find Black.

Black's not doing well against N because he still can't hear Reshiram's voice, but once he can, the battle takes a turn, and they finally take N and Zekrom down. That Zorua who was causing so much trouble is also revealed to be N's friend. Though, I still have no idea what all that mischief was supposed to achieve.

Ghetsis is not going to let a little thing like Zekrom's defeat get him down, and he reveals that his plan has been to have everyone release their pokemon except Team Plasma, making him the most powerful person there is. Okay, fine, that's an evil enough plan, but anyone at anytime could go out and befriend a pokemon. There wouldn't be any shortage of people to stand against hm. Though, it's true he's got a lot of the legendaries under his thumb. Just imagine a Star Wars style Pokemon story where Ghetsis is in control and there's this rebel group fighting for their freedom. Chills.

Moving right along, Black defeats Ghetsis by taking down Volcarona, and it seems like the story is moving into it's falling action phase, but, no, Kusaka and Yamamoto are not done with us yet. N flies away on Zekrom's back, but Black's not so lucky. No, he gets to be sucked into the white orb along with Reshiram in a slow and tortuous scene with Black saying his goodbyes to White and hoping he was able to pay off enough of his debt. Tears. Why?! Why did Zekrom fly away, but Reshiram returned to his orb form?

And the teaser in the end is the dismantling of Team Plasma's lower ranks. We see little Whitley taking on Foongy as her pokemon, and the group stealing off into the night setting us up for the start of the next arc in Black 2 White 2.

Pokemon Adventures Black&White
This book is about a kid that is named Black and a friend named N and two legendary pokemon called Reshiram and Zekrom.N’s father wanted to takeover the world so he manipulated N to use Zekrom to help with it.Black and Reshiram tries to stop N and Zekrom and his father.The reason I like this book is because it is about a friend trying to save his friend from going into a dark path.I recommend this book to pokemon fans because of the story.

I loved this one. The beginning and end were quite emotional, and I hope the next books will resolve them.
Black managed to keep his promise to White, and I'm sure they'll see each other again

This arc was wonderful. I absolutely loved White, she worked really hard for what she believed in and her relationship with her pokemon were adorable. I loved White and Gigi's friendship.
Black's goal was to become the league champion. I loved Musha helping him throughout the books because the championship was all he could think about.
Team plasma was awful, they were infuriating. I did like N though, no matter how much they influenced him, he still managed to see the good in the world.
The new pokemon in this series were wonderful. I loved seeing Keldeo helping out the Striaton gym leaders.
The story for this one was very heavily on the battles with team plasma as a bit of a subplot for the most of it, though near the end it changed. I'll say I probably didn't enjoy this series as much as some others because of that.

Two things struck me about this series. The first is that the Pokemon books remind me of books I read as a boy (the Mercer boys and the Walton boys series). These books involved teens or preteens going on adventures without parental supervision and acquitting themselves admirably. This is an attractive genre for teens and may contribute to their sense of growing up.

The second thought was that the themes of Team Plasma might resonate with the abolition and/or vegan movements. I'm not certain the "good guys" come out on the good side for either interpretation.

This was the final volume of the series. I found the finish to be unsatisfying; too many things were left hanging.

I’m not going to lie, the ending threw me off a bit. I was not expecting this run to end in a cliffhanger. I’m glad Gigi and White came to an agreement and the battle between Zekrom and Reshiram is pretty epic. As well as the gym leaders and Elite Four finally making themselves useful. But it’s the ordinary trainers beating on Team Plasma for me! And then, yeah, wild cliffhanger! Glad I have Black 2 and White 2 Adventures on hold.

This was totally amazing! I still feel like White hardly got any story at all, though what I saw was fantastic. Also, that ending… I mean seriously?! I feel SO bad for American readers who had to wait literal years for the next story arc to be released! I’m glad I waited until BW2 came out to even start on this arc.

I thought the book was relay good in the book the guy was trying to destroy the world. Next they had to stop that guy black had to res-erect the ainchent dragon. finally they had to fight wile the others had to fight the guys servents.
