Midnight & Mistletoe by Rebecca Raisin is a 2016 publication.

An emotionally stunning, but delightful conclusion to this romantic holiday e series!

This last installment in the Cedarwood Lodge e-series brings friends and family together for the holidays and finally resolves the age- old mystery of why Clio’s mom has such strong feelings about Cedarwood Lodge and explains why she held back from forging a solid relationship with her daughter. Warning… this storyline will require a box of tissues.

The romances that have developed over the course of the series have developed and I am so happy they were able to resolve some big issues and can begin enjoying their lives together.

But, what about Clio and Tim? Or will it be Clio and Kai? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out! However, I promise you will be very happy as the book closes with a promising, upbeat and heartwarming conclusion.

It goes without saying that you must read the first two installments to fully enjoy this book, and I highly recommend doing that.

I really enjoyed this e-series as a whole, and had fun reading it in increments, which gave me something to look forward to and because it was easy to work the installments into my busy holiday schedule.

I came to love and care for all the characters and hope to hear from them again someday. The story is, as always, well written and one that appeals to contemporary romance, chick-lit and women’s fiction readers, and is one that will appeal to anyone who enjoys a sweet, touching story.

Thank you to Netgalley, HQ digital and Rebecca Raisin for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance reader copy of this book.

You can find my review on both Goodreads and Amazon. On Goodreads from today under Karen Whittard and on Amazon under k.e.whittard from publication date.

I'm really enjoying the cederwood lodge series of books. They are fun and they make me feel all happy and I always get very excited about the next book once I have finished reading the last one. The characters in this series are so fun and funny and very warming. I really like reading about their lives. Rebecca has a fantastic way of writing and I always loose all track of time when I read her books.

This is a wonderful third instalment to the series and I will be extremely sad when it is all over.

It is Christmas time in this book. Clio is planning a New Years party. Clio used to love this sort of thing. But this year with everything so up in the air she isn't looking forward to it at all. Clio is looking forward to a new year and a new start.

I can't believe this is the end of the series. I am really sad that it had ended as I have really really enjoyed it.

If you love romance books and you want to try something new pick up this series and I promise you will fall in love with it too.

Happy reading everyone

It's the third and last installment and the story continues after the bridal expo. It's time to prepare for the Christmas, but there's also an opportunity to plan a New Year's party, which is going to be a huge thing. Clio's friends have found their soulmates and are happily in love, is Clio also going to find her other half in the middle of the celebrations? As things are looking pretty good for Clio and the lodge, the mystery around her mom is finally solved as well. It's a huge relief for them both and a new year can start on happier notes.
It was a great conclusion to the series, I really enjoyed reading about the Cedarwood lodge and all the people who made it happening. It's definitely a series that keeps you clued to the pages as well as make you smile along as you read.

This is the third -- and hopefully final -- At Cedarwood Lodge books. I called the first two novellas, but after finishing this book, it's almost as if the author wrote one entire book, and then chopped it up into three books, with this serving as the ending. In no sense would this stand on its own. Much of it would make no sense unless you had read the first two.

This one does wrap up -- for the most part -- the three couples we end up with over the three books. While Clio, the new owner of Cedarwood Lodge, has been the main character in each of the three, her friends have also featured prominently. We also find out the secret from Clio's mother's past.

I liked some parts of this book, but found myself skimming quite a bit. I'll definitely look for other books by the author in the future, but overall I can't recommend this one.

What a satisfying conclusion to a really sweet little 3 book series, starring Cedarwood Lodge at the heart of it. This is the third novella of the series and if you have read the others then you will be glad to know that all loose ends do get tied up, we finally found out the explanation for why Clio's mum acts the way she does, and Clio finally has some romance of her own (although I am not saying who with).

If you haven't read the others yet, then please do read them first as I really think the three should be read together if at all possible, especially as it had been a month since I read the second book, and I struggled a bit for the first few chapters to get back into the swing of things.

That unsettling feeling soon wore off as I remembered the characters properly, and loved catching up with them all. Aunt Bessie is an unexpected star of this book, as her donuts are becoming more in demand. It is always funny to watch a technophobe get to grips to social media!

The installment takes in Christmas Day, and New Years Eve and a massive party that is planned from Boxing day onwards, with all the small hiccups you would expect from event planning at short notice. That being said I would have loved to have been there myself as it sounded like a lot of fun.

There are many scenes that had me smiling in this story including any that involve Armory's Christmas present, and how she changes as a result of her present.

Midnight and Mistletoe at Cedarwood Lodge is a fitting, and amusing finale to our time at Cedarwood Lodge, which could be a good thing as all the food and donut descriptions in the past couple of installments are making me far too hungry, but overall I am sad to say goodbye to the characters and setting.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this copy of the book which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Firstly I am really REALLY gutted this is the last book in the Cedarwood Lodge series. I hope that Rebecca Raisin will take on how popular this series has been and revist at some point in the future.
In the last part of the story, Clio and the gang are gearing up for a party centered around Christmas Day and the New Year. I really loved Armory's storyline and how things will now change for her and Aunt Bessie was just a delight and an added bonus. Again great descriptions of the lodge and its interrior, aswell as always delicious food.
Rebecca Raisin, always has a way with words and makes us instantly fall in love with her charactors and their lifestyle. I feel with Clio I am leaving a friend behind as I have grown very fond of her. Its hard to write too much without giving the storyline away and spoiling it. This means you have to read it and my advice to to start at Book 1 otherwise you will miss out on so much.
We finally get some answers around the mystery of the maze. Plus a lot of loose ends are tied up nicely to any unanswered questions.
A great wrap up to an amazing series. There must be more we can visit at Cedarwood Lodge? Surly?.

This was a gorgeous last part of the trilogy at Cedarwood Lodge. We join Clio and her friends and family on Christmas Day and it sounds like such a wonderful day with some lovely touching scenes. They are also planning a New Years Eve Party for an important client and it kept getting updated requests that could have sent them into tailspin- but they take it all in hand and plan the perfect sounding event.
Some of the storylines are explained here and we get to know some of the secrets from the previous novellas.
I can't wait to get this as a complete book if that's planned as it was such a fun read.

Christmas has arrived at Cedarwood Lodge, every one is full of festive cheer and loved up. That is everyone other than Clio and Kai. Clio is struggling to admit her feelings for Kai even to herself let alone to the man in question and Kai is still mentally working through the revelations regarding his adoption. Will they be brave and take the leap?

Midnight & Mistletoe wraps up the Cedarwood Lodge trilogy wonderfully and provides answers to the final questions to the backdrop of the team organising a Great Gatsby inspired New Years Eve party. Clio's mother, Annabelle, is finally able to share her tragic past with Cedarwood Lodge which is a massive step for Annabelle who has turned into somewhat of a recluse and is aloof from most people, including Clio. This was sensitively handled and explains why Annabelle is how she is now.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy, Raisin's writing is warm and inviting, creating realistic characters that you both laugh and empathise with, cheering them on to do what will make them happy. I absolutely adored Aunt Bessie, she's the kind of Aunt that everyone wishes they had and her experiences within using social media made me chuckle!

The final installment of the Cedarwood series - I think I left it too long between parts 2 and 3 as I had forgotten some of the storylines. Lesson learnt there. I did enjoy it though catching up and always love a happy ending.

The fabulous Rebecca Raisin brings her enchanting Cedarwood Lodge serial to a delightful and enthralling close with the third and final installment of this terrific series, Midnight and Mistletoe at Cedarwood Lodge.

Events management is what Clio Winters does best and even though she had escaped the hustle and bustle of city life for the tranquility of her home town Evergreen, when she finds herself having to organize a New Year’s Eve party at Cedarwood Lodge, she cannot help but be a bit frazzled! It’s not merely the logistics of planning the party that have got Clio worried, but all the drama, tension and secrets which had started to unravel from the very first moment she fled Manhattan under a cloud of shame and gone back home to make a fresh start for herself by buying Cedarwood Lodge.

While all of her friends and family members seem to be settling down and getting the happy endings they deserve – from her best friend Amory living a life of domestic bliss with the love of her life, gorgeous Cruz to her Aunt Bessie who has become a culinary goddess feted by social media and the popular press, Clio seems to be at a crossroads. Her relationship with her mother is as fraught as ever, her childhood sweetheart Tim makes it abundantly clear that he would like them to rekindle their relationship and then there is Kai, the gorgeous Australian builder whom Clio is finding herself increasingly drawn to.

Will Clio finally find the happiness which she has been searching for all her life? Or is she destined to spend the rest of her life organizing momentous events for others while she misses out on her own happy occasions?

The conclusion to Rebecca Raisin’s thrilling Cedarwood Lodge series is everything I had hoped it would be and more. Feel-good, uplifting and irresistible, Midnight and Mistletoe is a wonderful tale of family secrets, fresh starts and happy endings that, once again, I struggled to put down. Packed with characters you cannot help but love, humour, heart, drama and magic, Midnight and Mistletoe is the ultimate treat for readers of romance and women’s fiction who are looking to unwind from the stress of the holiday season with a fabulous read that will make them laugh, cry and sigh with perfect happiness!

Rebecca Raisin can always be relied on to deliver a spectacular read and I’m already counting down the days until the next title from this wonderful writer!

I read this as the full novel rather than the three part book series. So this review is for the full novel but don’t worries there are no spoilers:

I have well and truly fallen in love with Cedarwood Lodge and I want to stay there for real. Oh and don't get me started on the library at the lodge, the thought of book clubs, author events & readers retreats all taking place at the lodge just sounded like my idea of heaven. Complete bliss.

I also loved the sound of Bessie's mouth watering donuts, some of them just sounded devine especially the cookies and cream one. Not sure if would do my weight any good though.

Oh and little Scotty, he is so adorable, and I just want to pick him up and give him lots of cuddles. If you want to know who Scotty is, you'll just have to read the book.

I loved the bonds that existed between certain characters and then the new bonds that formed with new characters. All of which were so believable and well written. I truly loved getting to know each and every character.

Throughout the book, you become aware that there are secrets to be discovered, and so you spend majority of the book wondering when you'll discover the those secrets and wondering what they are, well I certainly did. It certainly kept me turning the pages.

I loved how it all ended, almost didn't want it to end, as I will dearly miss the characters.

I think I would have enjoyed this series more if I had read the first two books before picking up this one. I didn't have any trouble following the story but I'm wishing I had more background on the other two couples who were very prevalent in this story. Cleo has return to her hometown to help the family at Cedarwood Lodge. This story is set with Cleo and her mother (they are working on their relationship) planning a New Year's celebration for their friends, family and guests. Lots of sweet romance and I'm guessing readers of the first two books will be thrilled with revisiting the characters in this story line. Rebecca Raisin writes quality wholesome romance that keeps the readers happy.

Midnight and mistletoe at Cedarwood Lodge by Rebecca Raisin was a sweet feel good read but was lacking what I typically expect from a Chick Lit read.

I found it hard to connect with the main characters in the book and there was not enough tension built up romantically between the two main characters to make you want them to desperately fall in love and have their happily ever after. I felt like we didn't really get to know Clio's love interest Kai really well but could see the potential for you to swoon over his character.
The plot was somewhat predictable and you weren't really left wondering how the story was going to unfold.
I found this book light and fluffy and a quick read but finished feeling a little disappointed.

What a lovely end to this series! I love books that have "Will they?" "Won't they?" themes and they were in abundance in this book. The setting is magical and the relationships keep your interest from beginning to end.

I loved the way Clio and her mum managed to get back together - it was a real tear-jerker!

Thank you Rebecca for a lovely series.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another brilliant breath of fresh mountain air from Rebecca Raisin, the culmination of the Cedarwood Lodge trilogy brings more delicious donuts and the wonderful happy ever after for everyone that it hinted at throughout the first two books. I’ve loved all Rebecca’s novels, reading one of them is like sinking into a hot soothing bubble bath after a tiring day. You just get that hmmm feeling and I can’t wait for the next book / series.

Aww, what a beautiful ending! My heart exploded with happiness whilst reading it. Rebecca's writing whisks you away to Cedarwood Lodge and lets us enjoy the Christmas and Gatsby style New Year party all the way. I loved every second of this book. I, honestly, wish Rebecca would consider writing more stories in this series. Strongly recommended!

Heartwarming

So glad we can conclude the issue with the maze so the healing can begin. As usual Clio is planning a party that has twists and you wonder if she and the team can get it done on time.

Midnight and Mistletoe At Cedarwood Lodge is on short sweet story, that has previous stories, which I have not read, but as I understand, they all had Clio as one of the characters. She has been the party planner in New York, but be course some misunderstanding she returned to Cedarwood Lodge, bought it and started to renovate it and is planing to open it to tourist's soon.

Although the story starts with Clio and her friends eating too much for breakfast after Christmas and then going to Clio's aunt's house to eat too much for lunch, this gluttony is not the only thing that is happening in this book. The main story is about Clio, Clio's mothers problems with Cedarwood and the mase behind it and in addition there are two young men who try to win Clio's heart even if she has given her heart to one of them a long time ago already.

And after the food hangower has past, Clio and her friends/coworkers start to organise an New Year party to Clio's once-boyfriend's boss. The client is picky and changes his whishes at a last minute, and there is a young pup in a house, and Clio's mum finally comes to tell her her problems with the Cedarwood Lodge ...

... it all works out fine at the end. Clio opens her heart finally and year and a half later everybody has got exactly what they wanted.

Short, sweet and sometimes too much politically correct and environmentally caring (sometimes not enough caring) story. Reminded me a lot of Alice Clayton' Rusty Nailed.

Great to be back at Cedarwood Lodge for the final part. Clio is busy arranging a New Year's Eve party for a client who keeps changing his mind on theme, food etc and so is really busy trying to sort it all without having a nervous breakdown, but always on the perimeter is her feelings for Kai - does he return them and can she let herself go and admit to her feelings.

Clio's mother is beginning to let down her guard and finally shares her heartbreaking story of her time at Cedarwood Lodge and the explanation of why she has always been so remote and distant. Aunt Bessie meantime is becoming the most unlikely internet sensation!

A lovely final part tying up all of the loose ends and providing a great new Year

My Rating: FIVE STARS
Midnight and Mistletoe is sweet as Christmas sugar cookies and certainly excels at getting readers into the holiday spirit. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough of it for me. This book was very short, and just didn't manage to build enough tension either romantically or throughout the plot for me to really get into this book. Any potential problem that Clio Winters faces is easily and very quickly resolved, and there just wasn't enough buildup or emotional turmoil leading up to the book's romantic conclusion, making it difficult to really fall in love alongside the main characters.

This book is the definition of feel-good read. It is light and fluffy and doesn't cause readers to worry over whether or not everything is going to workout okay in the end. For me, the lack of conflict makes it difficult for me to get into the story. I feel that if Raisin had included an extra 200 pages to this book, she could have really raised the stakes and upped the romantic tension enough for this book to truly be great.

Cover Rating : FOUR STARS
This cover really is beautiful. It captures the holiday tone of the novel well and hints at the 1920s era vibe of the party that the plot centers around.

Swoon Worthiness: TWO STARS
I SO badly wanted to swoon over this book. And Kai definitely had the potential to be a swoon-worthy character. Unfortunately, there just was not enough romantic tension in this novel to really pull me into the romance. Again, maybe with another 200 pages of character/relationship building, Raisin would have nailed it.

Why You Should Read This Book:
If you like romantic fiction that is quick and easy to read, then you'll definitely enjoy this one. Those who have read the other two novels in the Cedarwood Lodge series will certainly enjoy it, since the whole cast is back for the trilogy's conclusion. This book is like watching a cozy Lifetime-style Christmas movie. If that's your thing, then this is definitely the book for you!

Clio Winters is planning a huge Gatsby-themed New Years Eve party at Cedarwood lodge. However, she isn’t feeling too festive. So many things are happening. Her 2 friends have found love and she is feeling a tad left out. Her relationship with her mom is starting to heal, but reminders of the past creep in to threaten that. Will her wish come true for New Year’s and will she have someone to kiss at midnight?

This was the last installment in the Cedarwood Lodge series. I haven’t read the first two, but they weren’t necessary to enjoy this one. There were a few details I had questions about, but Rebecca gave enough detail in this one to answer most of them. I haven’t read any of her previous novels that I know of, but I will look her up again whenever I want a quick, light read. This one was great because I love these Holiday romances and this was the first one I’ve read that focused on New Year’s. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

With the holidays almost over, Clio and her friends at Cedarwood Lodge are gearing up to throw a New Year's Eve party that will blow everyone's socks off, and there is something about the lodge that seems to have everyone finding what they need. Watching her friends settle down with their soulmates really makes Clio smile, but she cannot help but wonder if love will ever work out for her? With her childhood sweetheart, Tim, making it clear that he would like them to pick up where they left off all those years ago, Clio certainly has options. But can he make her heart flutter the way Kai can? And what will she do when Kai leaves Cedarwood behind for good? Add in the mystery surrounding her mother and the maze which finally comes to light, and maybe this new year will be everything that Clio needs to make her grab a hold of what she wants from life. MIDNIGHT & MISTLETOE AT CEDARWOOD LODGE by Rebecca Raisin is the third and final instalment of this beautiful, heartfelt series and is sure to make you smile. With plenty of laughs, misunderstandings, and havoc along the way, you will not regret stepping into Cedarwood Lodge and its magical world. I ADORE this series and really didn't want it to end - but what an ending! The perfect cosy read for this Christmas.
