My tween son picked out this book at the library and he enjoyed it to much I️ thought I️ would give a look see. I️ really like this book. It is formative and motivational. I️ would recommend this book to anyone.
Slightly overwhelming as the book is divided into chapters with several women in each category. No real divide between each women, just a new paragraph. Many mentioned don't any any visual representation for the reader to relate to.
Does a good job at the end with a short quiz and answers to it at the end of the glossary. Parent guide with tips on reading aloud and supporting emerging self readers
Reading and review for the purpose of reader advisory. This is a level reader, for approximately age 9-13 depending on the reader. Interesting non-ficition, with short summaries about different women in history. The follow of the book is a little bit awkward. But I think as far as advanced level readers goes, it just has facts, it is very straight forward, and could keep the attention of someone of a young age.
This book was very interesting. Each page was filled with interesting facts about amazing women in history. These stories were real life inspiring stories. This book would be great for any student that loves history. Also, it can be used for a history report involving one to the many amazing women of the past. Great and interesting book with amazing breathtaking pictures and illustrations.
There were some women, like Wilma Rudolph and Wang Zhenyi, who I was glad to learn about for the first time. Still, I feel like if they were going to feature American and British suffragettes they should also have included Kate Shepard who helped make New Zealand the first country where women could vote.
Amazing women from all over the world and different fields are highlighted. Hopefully some day women and their accomplishments will no longer need to be highlighted because they will be accepted as common place.
I'm reading books aimed at younger audiences for school, but this had so many interesting people we passed it around my workplace. Information is at a low reading level but still engaging.
