Karen writes a vivid story that's allows us to be Rosie & walk in her shoes. I felt like I had been transported back to my own primary school days.

I loved the humor in the book. While making me laugh it helped to break up the nastiness & bullying of "The Furter" & made the book seem more real.

This is defiantly a book I will be reading to my Grandson. Bullying happens, & if you understand that it ok to talk about it, then something can be done.

Don't let the Furters of the world decide what you life experience will be or be less than it can be.

Thank you Karen for an uplifting (pun intended) read & I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I was fortunate enough to obtain an advance copy of Karen Tyrrell’s latest novel, ‘Song Bird Superhero’. As a reader, I have to say I found this novel enjoyable and fun.

As a writer, I can see where Karen has brilliantly formulated this novel and entertainingly incorporated the S.T.E.M. science.

Keeping up with Karen’s theme of resilience, Karen has once again included coping skills and strategies for dealing with bullies and positive messages of not giving up, friendship and believing in yourself.

This book has a great cast of both male and female characters, however, I feel girls between the age of 7 – 13 would be more likely to appreciate the contents.

Rosella Bird is inspired by two things: the flying machines of her hero, Leonardo Da Vinci and music.

Song Bird is a story about following dreams, persisting despite frequent failures, and taking down the town's evil genius to save the day. Watch this Song Bird soar! Readers are in for the ride of a lifetime.

This is another great story of self empowerment for children by Karen Tyrrell.

Rosella Bird dreams of flying. Will she ever fly? Her new neighbor Frank Furter turns out to be the bully at her new school. Will she fit in? Her flying inventions crash.

When her new teacher Miss Darling encourages her not to give up Rosie starts to believe in herself. She discovers her voice can lift her off the ground. Frank Furter is always there causing trouble though.

There is an innocent charm within the pages that is endearing. Again I look forward to her blog tour to find out more of the story behind the book.

Karen Tyrrell's Song Bird Superhero is a delightful middle-grade chapter book.

Twelve-year-old Rosella Ava Songbird is starting a new school because she was bullied at her previous one. But Rosey's new neighbour, Frank Furter, is a bully and, worse, in her new class. He seems determined to make her life miserable. Rosey discovers a super-power but initially it gets her into more strife. Rosey has a number of challenges to overcome, finds both friends and enemies and needs to believe in herself to achieve her dreams and save the day.

This book celebrates discovering one's special abilities, singing and science mixed with superhero adventure. Rosey is a very upbeat and likeable character - as are her friends Amy, Ben & teacher Miss Darling and brother Robin. The Furter is an implacable enemy (almost to the point beyond reason) and there are plenty ups and downs, thrills and spills, for a thoroughly good read.

Best of all, this is a superhero book with a female protagonist - apparently something of a rarity in middle grade fiction.

I really wanted to give this 3.5 stars, but there's no option for that! (Sorry, Karen). I liked it and can see why it would appeal to primary school kids.

Twelve-year-old Rosella Bird has just moved to a new house and a new school after being bullied at her old school. But bullies are everywhere, and Rosie soon has a run in with the nasty boy next door, Frank Furter! To her horror, she realises that Frank is also in her class at her new school.

Rosie is an inventor, and she is obsessed with flying, so, naturally, she invents flying machines, much to her mother's dismay (her mother is a health and safety officer!) Her heroes are Amelia Earhart, Leonardo Da Vinci and Super Girl. She also likes to sing, and one day, she discovers that her voice has more power than she could ever imagine. Her voice can make her fly...

Her new found talent gets her into quite a lot of trouble at first, and it seems like more of a curse than a gift. But with a little help from her friends, she learns, little by little, how to make it work for her.

When Rosie finds out that there is going to be a science fair at the school, she realises that she can show everyone what she can do. But Frank Furter has other plans. Fortunately, Rosie has allies - her friends Amy and Ben, and her teacher, Miss Darling, who has a little secret of her own.

This is a sweet little story about believing in yourself, the importance of friendships, and that bullies, every now and then, get what's coming to them! I've just given it to my 13-year-old stepson to read. I think he will enjoy it.

This is another amazing book, from the pen of Karen Tyrrell :) It felt like reading a really old friend. It was comforting and special.
I especially loved the bits about Amy, the wheelchair-bound girl, because I am disabled as well. So that character meant a lot to me, even though we have different disabilities.
I just wish that Rosie had actual wings, but otherwise, it is amazing!
Thank you ever so much, Karen!!!

Wonderful book For 3rd to 5th grade students. The Ideas in the book was well written for them. I found the main character Rosella Bird to be endearing. I enjoyed this new take on super heroes and thought it was really fun to read. I need to see if there is more to her story so i can share it with all the kids in my life.
