She was his and no other motherfucker would ever have her.

As the person in charge of the Cincinnati Chapter of Warriors and the eldest council leader, Sloan Murphy has his hands full. It also doesn’t help that rogue vampires and Crimson Rush is still a problem, which means the war they are fighting is not over. There is always someone wanting to take down the VC Warriors, his VC Warriors. What he doesn’t want is a new secretary, and he definitely doesn’t need the unwanted attraction he feels towards the human redhead. But letting her go seems impossible to do.

Becky Spenser is thrilled to have found the secretary position at the VC Warrior’s office. After finally divorcing her loser husband, she’s sworn off men and determined to be independent, to only answer for herself. The only good thing her ex ever gave her was her wonderful son, who is now an adult. And she is more than ready to start her new life. What she didn’t expect was her intense attraction to her cranky and growly boss. How can she ignore him if all she wants to do is jump him?

He had no room in his life for a mate, a human mate at that. He was not mate material. He knew that. Though deep down, he wanted it even knowing he couldn’t have it.

I have love the broody and bossy Sloan since the first book, and I was so excited to finally read his book. He is so damn sexy when he’s so growly and I loved seeing his possessive and protective side when it came to Becky!

Unfortunately it took quite a while before I liked Becky. The way she lost her head around Sloan was too OTT and annoyed the hell out of me, and she had a few TSTL moments in the beginning which was difficult to ignore. However, she did get better by the 60% mark, and I loved that she was there for Katrina when she needed help.

“Never doubt that I love you, Becky. I never thought it was possible and I denied it would ever happen, but it has and you are mine.”

As always the sexy times were very steamy, and I loved how dominant Sloan was in the bedroom, it was so damn hot! Because of Becky these two are definitely my least favorite couple in this series, which is sad because I adore Sloan, but it just took too long for me to start liking Becky. But I’m so happy that he finally got his own HEA, he’s been alone too long, and deserved someone who would love him, and who he could love.

There were many hilarious moments, especially because of Steve. I just love this goofball :-D And I’m so damn happy that he finally got his own cool power!

Two new characters that were recently introduced to this series had quite big roles in this book. Katrina, the young girl/woman who helped Jill at the former Halfway House in Slade, and Blaze an ex-Warrior who returned in A Warrior Wedding, are great characters. Both has such cool powers, and it seems tragic pasts. I love the chemistry between them, and I hope Blaze will stop denying his attraction to her. And after what happened to Katrina at the end, I can’t wait for the next book to find out whether she’s going to be okay.

As always another new threat has come forth, one that is determined to destroy the VC Warriors, and I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

This is one of my favorite PNR series’. I love these sexy warriors with their feisty mates. The romance is always so sexy and so romantic. And even though I was a disappointed with Becky and had a hard time liking her, I still loved everything else about this book. I can’t wait for the next one, which will be Blaze’s book.

I have been anxiously awaiting Sloan's book. We left off last time with the gang pushing Sloan to hire a secretary to help him out. Becky walks in at the right time and makes a great impression. Sloan is attracted to her immediately but he resists. He's not mate material or so he keeps telling himself.

I had mixed feelings about this one. There was a lot of sexual tension and attraction between Sloan and Becky but not a lot of time as an actual couple. Even though I prefer to read romance I still enjoyed the book with the continuing story line...there's a new baddie in town.

I absolutely LOVED Becky. She was funny and sweet but she also didn't take shit from Sloan. She even put him in his place a time or two. But she was also what he needed. And when they were together, I loved them as a couple. We just didn't get a lot of couple time. Sloan was still his badass roaring self. When they finally get together, he was the possessive dirty talking alpha I love.

So, overall, it was still a good addition to the series. I can't wait to read Blaze's book. This one sort of ended in a cliffy with him and Katrina so I kind of need his book NOW!

**A nice little bonus...zero other woman or female vamps in this one.

Sloan by Teresa Gabelman
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Oh Sloan!! I have been waiting for the boss man to fall and fall hard he did. He TRIED to fight off the sassy redhead but he ended up falling head over heels, as we the reader did as well.
Sloan has been grumpy and moody in every book. I mean I get it. He is the boss and has a lot to run and control so love is not in the cards for him oooorrr so he thinks. It’s not that he doesn’t WANT love but he knows he is moody, grumpy and busy so women don’t take kindly to being 2nd in line for his attention.
Becky is done with men. After her failed marriage she is over men and going to switch teams…LOL then she gets this job with the VC Warriors as the boss’ secretary. He is commanding and intense but super sexy. The chemistry these two have in sooo well written. They are joking and flirting but still keeping the whole boss/secretary thing going. Mainly Sloan is pushing her away and she is hiding for fear of being rejected.
When they have their first kiss…..I was super excited and then watching Becky put him in his place…LOVED IT! She is definitely perfect for Sloan. All the Warriors, except for Sid because she also puts him in his place, love her as do their mates.
The buildup for the next book has me sooo excited for a few reasons….1 – new awesome bad guy. 2. -Blaze…need I say anymore???

Sloan Sloan Sloan. Who knew he would be one of my fave heroes in this series! Before this book I had always kinda pictured him like Ed Asner in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, lol. That got updated but quick in this book. He's his usual grouchy cantankerous self and I expected him to be the worst when it came to refusing his mate. But he was practical and even a bit vulnerable, while somehow still being a grouchy work-a-holic.
Becky is in her mid 30's and recently divorced with a son who is off to his first year of college. She's pretty down on her luck, but not the kind to wallow in self pity. I liked her snarky well meaning joie de vivre.
There is a secondary romance that will spill into the next book. Usually I hate that when the focus is split in a story, but I really liked Katarina and Blaze and look forward to reading the next book.
A new bad guy's in town and the rogue problem is as bad as ever. Cameo's of all our fave characters and Steve finally gets his power.
So this series is like a soap opera and none of the books are stand-a-lones.

I was so looking forward to this book. Sloan is the oldest of the VC Warriors and seems a mystery. He is grumpy, overworked and needs a good mate! Having a preview of the story in the last book, I was excited.

Unfortunately, I felt like I got more of the set up for Blaze and Katrina than a story about Sloan and Becky. They had very little page time together. I was happy for them, and I wanted to see them together! Every time I thought we would get something, the story broke away to Blaze/Katrina. I feel like that story is now mostly told.

Anyway, I felt that Becky and Sloan and no intimate conversations. They did not get to know each other. It was just a few scenes and boom, they are mated. I feel I know Becky really well, but still did not learn a lot about Sloan. Heck I think I learned more about him in prior books than his own.

Overall I was disappointed.

She has an ex husband and a kid in college. No OW for him thank goodness!

Sloan or Blaze book???

I thought this was Sloan's book but we got more Blaze and Katrina than Sloane and Becky. That frustrated the hell out of me and it was hard to enjoy the book especially considering the amount of time we waited for Sloane book.
I guess my expectations were to high and I set myself up for disappointment.

Now onto the plot. What happened to this Nico guy. Will they handle him in Blaze book?. I guess we will find that out as well as who attacked Katrina.

At this point do I really care? It takes forever for the next book to publish and this is a great example of why I am a Mallory Monroe fan through and through. She puts out a new book of her series every MONTH not YEAR.

Sloan is absolutely the best book in the series The Protectors...so far!! Teresa Gabelman just has a way of making the characters come alive for you. Makes you feel like you're right there in the action. Sloan has been alive for so long and the boss of the Warriors and we've always wanted him to find love and laughter...and finally he gets his story told. Does he find the love of his life? Does he find the love to make his choice so long ago mean something? Of course there's a whole lot of betting going on among the Warriors on those questions...but Sloan is THE BOSS! He gets things done...but maybe with a little help from a hot, sexy, redhead, he can finally wrangle those sexy Warriors of his in getting more work done. And Teresa also gives us a little taste of what's to come...but no spoilers here...this is absolutely a MUST READ...5+ STARS....I wish I could give it more stars because it is so worth it!!!

Well this book is a perfect example of why I have stopped reading so many series. So many characters I vaguely remember but all of them showing up in the story along with ongoing or multiple story lines. It wasn’t that long ago that I read these books back to back, some I loved some not so much. I really wanted to read Sloan’s story the whole time so I thought surely I can pick this up without a re-read….but I didn’t remember half of these “people” or who belonged with whom after such a short time. I was pretty lost when everyone was named right off the bat, some I remembered some I didn’t but putting them with their mates or remembering what had gone on with the side plot…..I was clueless.

I remembered Sloan, obviously, probably because he was always my favorite anyway. I don’t know how he hasn’t lost his shit dealing with some of these twits and their irritating behavior at times. Of course I was hoping for more for him than Becky, she turned out to be rather ridiculous. She acted like she was twelve, lusted after him uncontrollably for a ridiculous amount of the book, had completely idiotic behavior at times, and repeatedly put herself in danger….and that ridiculous scooter crap. She was an idiot. I did love Sloan and liked seeing him finally get some help and be happy but geez I felt like he deserved better but oh well that’s not what he got. He didn’t get much of a fleshed out story they were fighting the attraction then flip the page and they’re an item. Then after they are an item we have a tiny meltdown that showed how dense Becky is, yet again, fortunately her son was more mature and much smarter than her. Geez this woman was a twit.

Blaze and Katrina took up a lot of page time too….I didn’t remember them either and it took away from Sloan’s story to me, not that there was much to it anyway. So after not remembering pretty much anything in this one, I doubt I’ll be reading their story anyway, unless that was going to be the last in the series which I’m sure it won’t be and these are either re-read them all or only read when complete type books for me, so I guess I’m out on another series.

There will only ever be one, Sloane Murphy. If you are a passionate reader of the VC Warriors series, you would have come to love Sloane. He's the MAN or Vampire should I say, he's the leader of the best bunch of paranormal hotties you will ever read about.

Sloane has sat back and laughed watching his employees turn upside down, and inside out all finding their mates. He was definitely not going to be one of them. I always thought he never would have found a mate to be honest. He works to hard, always on the go keeping the peace, handling situations. Forever and I mean forever shouting his usual "get out of my office" or words to that effect. Let's keep this review, PG. LOL!! I shall try my best.

Everyone, especially the mates of his employees not only recommend he needs a secretary, but hound him into getting one. Becky Spencer is a lovely woman, strong, independent and in desperate need of a job. Her ex husband, thank God for the ex, left her with nothing. She is rebuilding her life and although she has to go without a lot of things she's a very proud woman, and will not take handouts.

When Becky starts working for Sloane she fits in perfectly with everyone, of course the VC Warriors are not shy about meeting her, nor giving Sloane the payback he so deserves.
Plenty of sparks fly in this story and I do mean sparks. We see a completely differently side to Sloane and it just leaves you thinking, 'WOW'.

Remember Steve, I know like you could forget him. That boy kills me, I was lying in bed reading and had to put the book down before I woke the whole house up. I could not stop laughing. He's so funny without even realising. His story will have to be read through the day that's for sure. You know what though? I am now beyond eager to get my hands on Blaze's book. OH BOY!! That is going to blow up the pages.

Teresa Gabelman certainly brings her characters to life, keeping them as real as if you were reading about you neighbour. For me this series has by far been the best paranormal I have EVER read.

I received a copy for a honest review

Sloan Murphy is the boss man of the VC Warriors as well as the oldest member of the vampire council. He does it all and if vampires could get high blood pressure and have heart attacks Sloan would be a prime candidate for both. Becky Spencer is Sloan's new secretary that he really doesn't want. She's got a douche bag for a ex, a son in college that she loves, and is swearing off all men, good thing Sloan isn't a man.
We get to see all of our favorite Warriors again; Sid and Jared are still smart asses, Damon and Duncan are still strong and true, Steve is still funny as hell and getting into trouble, Adam is still Adam, Jill is still throwing people through walls, Jax and Blaze are training the warrior wannabe's, and Slade well he's still my Dr. Hottie McVampire being all Dr. Buchanan.
Sloan really doesn't want a mate, he's too busy and he wasn't ever supposed to find his, but he can't stop thinking about Becky. It's so funny watching Becky silently swearing herself off Sloan all the time when he does something to melt her panties.
Watching Sloan try to fight his feeling the she's his mate is like watching a tree slowly fall, then BAM it happens!!
Since our last bad guy died in Jax's book, Gableman has given us a new slimy bad guy with thugs of his very own who's already done some damage and pissed off the Warriors!!
I love that Becky is tough and can stand up to the Warriors when she needed and that she's has the same goofy since of humor that they do and can give it as good as they like to give it. She fits the group and most of all she is exactly what Sloan needs.
What's so great about Terese is all the while she's writing about the main couple, she's setting you up for the next one, with out letting the main couple down. The next book is gonna be awesome and I can't wait.

Holy Moly!!!

Talk about the book to blow your mind and make you laugh out loud all at the same time.

OMG, so much I wanna say but can't otherwise I'd ruin it for you lovely readers and I so don't wanna do that.

Sloan, head honcho, top dog, head of the VC Warriors, is in dire need of a Secretary but will NEVER admit to that, but don't despair the rest of the Warriors will be there to save the day and find him a good Secretary, he also needs to find his one mate, his soul mate, but that's definitely off the cards...right

In comes Becky, she's a strong willed woman, single Mother and at the moment is steering clear of all Men, she just wants a good job to make ends meet and pay the bills.

What can I say about this book!!
It was explosive, action packed, sizzling Hot.... I loved that we caught up with all the other warriors and HOT DAMN this author Can make me Laugh Out Loud.
It's definitely a book I would recommend, seriously go check out the whole series you won't be disappointed I guarantee it.

It was so much more than I could ever imagine, well done Teresa you are truly an Amazing writer, I love that you lure me into your stories and don't let go, and I thank you for another Epic read.

Jesus, Sloan was just so damn sexy, "Sloan passed her and mounted his bike, then looked at her. “You coming?” Sid needs to watch out because Sloan is stealing my heart! I loved the reactions Becky could goad out of Sloan, “I don’t pout.” Sloan growled as he followed her outside, walking her to her car." These men take protecting their women seriously, but Sloan just knocked that way out of the park with his alphaness, “was anyone hurt?” Sloan asked, his eyes narrowing when one of the paramedics made Becky moan in pain. Walking over, he knocked the guy out of the way and lifted Becky in his arms before he repeated his question to Duncan." I loved this damn book! I can't wait for Blaze to get his because he and Katrina have me so intrigued.

Sloan. Oh hot damn I knew this man was going to ruin me for others.
The head of the VC warriors Sloan has the biggest work load in the world. The Warriors think he needs a secretary. Sloan of course does not. Sloan also does NOT want or need a mate.
Enter Becky. Single Mum. Sworn of men forever due to an A***hole ex. Desperate for work to live.
BANG. Yep instant attraction. Fireworks.
We get to catch up with all the other Warriors during the story of course and delve a little deeper into some new characters. Laugh out Loud funny. Action. Page turner from the very first page.
I'm addicted to this series.
I recommend this to all paranormal romance fans.
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL READ.

Phenomenal read

Amazing story, amazing author.... Sloan's book is such a great read. Kick azz characters with an awesome storyline. Teresa Gabelman is the master at making the reader hysterically laughing one scene and ugly crying in the next scene. I'm still hysterically laughing at the Dr Doolittle scenes.....can't wait for Blaze's book..... every time I think this series can't get any better Teresa blows my mind with a better book.

2018 Review
My 2017 review stands, I would just like to add...

So, what did I like about it?
This book, indeed this whole series has a wealth of amazing complex characters, our lead romantic pair, Sloan and Becky, were fantastic in this book. Becky Spencer is everything that I look for in a lead female character; she's intelligent, got a lovely dry sense of humour and definitely has gumption. Sloan Murphy is a true alpha; he has high expectations of his subordinates, his volcanic temper just simmering below the surface and always keeping his inner thoughts close to his chest, it has been wonderful to see behind his stern veneer.

Ok, so while I’m on the subject of Sloan and Becky, let’s talk about sex. I like the way that the sexual anticipation was built in this book. For me, a story is only really erotic if I’m emotionally connected to the characters involved, Ms Gabelman gives her characters such depth that they become real and so I become involved in their story. Yes, I got caught up with the naughty shenanigans (who wouldn’t *blush*) but the tender insights into both Sloan and Becky’s inner dialogue added the romance to the lust and the growth of their trust in each other’s love was heart-warming to read.

The relationship between VC Warrior Blaze and new trainee Katrina has also developed beautifully during this book and I am looking forward to reading more about both of them in the next book. While we are on the subject of the great supporting cast, I must just mention that once again former half-breed now full VC Warrior Steve steals the show; he's such a sweetheart and always makes me chuckle in every scene he's in. In Sloan, I found myself blubbering like a baby after a pretty horrific scene then flipped the page and Steve had me crying with laughter instead.

So, ummm, was there anything I disliked about it?
I rated Sloan 5 stars, so obviously I didn’t find anything jarring or was niggled by any aspect of this story.

I would just like to say that I don’t think that Sloan can be read as a standalone story. I think you’d miss the nuances of knowing the existing characters, understanding the dynamics of relationships and recognize the ongoing plot lines. As with most series, there are background story arcs that are concluded within this book while others are left to continue into the next one, and possibly beyond although I will confirm that there are no life-or-death cliffhangers. Woohoo!! (You know how I hate those!). Having said that, Teresa Gabelman does try to ensure her new readers aren't completely lost by weaving any significant information about past adventures and existing characters into this story

So, basically what I’m saying is...
This book left me breathless; I couldn't put it down! It's got everything that I look for in a 5 star book; action, romance, a gripping story-line, humour (like most Brits, I love good banter) and well written, erotic sex scenes.

Due to the graphic violence and sexual content (it’s definitely steamy) I’m rating this book 18+ and so I’d recommend Sloan to adults who aren’t offended by content of this nature who are fans of relationship/romance tales with gritty story-lines and oodles of passion.

2017 Review
Another jam-packed installment!

I have read all of the hooks in this series and I am a huge fan. I love Ms Gabelman's writing style and the way she weaves her tales; some story-lines finding completion in each book while other arcs are allowed to overflow into more than one.

In my opinion, this book has the right balance of action, mystery, humour and passion which makes it a real page turner.

I hope that Ms Gabelman continues to captivate us with more books about these amazing VC Warriors and their equally awesome mates for many years to come.

I enjoyed this book.

But like Adam's book, it felt a little more like filler to me, with the main focus not necessarily being on the Sloan and Becky aspect, but more on the setting up and ground work of the story between Blaze and Katrina. I think that there is so much mystery surrounding Sloan and his background but that was never really explored. I was good to get to see a little more of his character though, and have more insight into how he feels/sees his job. It was nice to see that e does have a more caring side (whether he likes it or not!) I really liked Becky's character. I like that she is a parent, as I think that it brings a slightly different dynamic to their relationship that we have not previously seen with the other couples. As much as Tessa had, essentially, been caring/raising Adam, they still very much have a Brother/Sister relationship and this carries through to Jared. We so far haven't seen any of the Warriors have to have the "I really like your mother, and I hope you are okay with that" conversation. I'm interested to see how this side of their relationship will continue in future installments of the series.

I'm really looking forward to reading Blaze's story as it is clear that he is haunted by his past (literally). I'm really interested to see what lays beneath the surface with him, and the same really goes for Katrina. I eager to see her come out of her shell, and get to know her character better.

This is a really great series that is a lot of fun. There were moments in this book that had me in tears laughing. So if you are looking for a quick read and a laugh, this series is for you.

If you like vampire warriors..Read This Series!

Love this series! This book is about Sloan and Becky, but it is made so much better by the supporting characters.
Becky is Sloan's new secretary that was picked by Jill. Sloan knows that he is attracted to Becky so he tries to push her away. He doesn't believe that he is mate material. Things happen that bring them closer and he realizes that he wouldn't want to live if something happened to her.
Some of the book is about the new trainee Katrina. She is being put down by her fellow trainees. Blaze is helping her but at the same time trying to keep his distance.
There are attacks on the Warriors and Katrina gets hurt badly. I believe the next book is Blaze, so we learn more about them.
My favorite is Steve though. There is a scene where he is lamenting that he doesn't have a super power yet. He farts and someone suggests that is his superpower killer farts. It had me laughing so hard, tears were coming down.
Recommend this series!!!!!!

Book 9 in series

I never really knew what to make or think of Sloan..in the previous Books he didn’t have a voice for me other than shouty boss dude... it wasn’t until jax’s book when he started talking about his overwhelming tiredness and his interest in Caroline that I started to pay attention... and holy hell this book made me pay attention. I really enjoyed the interaction between Sloan and Becky up until the last two chapters... which just felt really rushed and hurried for me... I could have done with a few more chapters just to feed the ending a little more naturally... and because I wanted more from Sloan and Becky.

With a new ‘big bad’ on the scene by way of even nico.. the dodgy da who is trying to destroy the warrior training facilities... the warriors and Sloan just can’t seem to catch a break.

Blaze and Katrina... mmmm that’s gonna be a tough one for me... I’m not sure what to make of either of them so far... she seems a little too timid for my liking.

And finally Steve get his wish... literally... I’m still making my mind up over that..

With vampires being the bane and the balm of the city, it isn’t easy for Sloan Murphy to lead a warrior team of alpha vampires and alpha half-vampires, especially when you’re fighting a battle that it seems you’ll never win and multiple demands on all your time, not to mention the political web of the council with everything needing to come through him.

Recently divorced from a bad husband and bad father, Becky Spencer just needs a job to support herself and her son, luckily, her son’s ex-teacher was able to help her get hired as sexy VC leader Sloan Murphy administrative assistant. Attracted to each other at the mass job event, Sloan and Becky are confused by their interaction and what happens next.

When reading romance novel I want it to be more about lead characters and less about other characters (upto to some point to build a story it is ok to be about other characters but there are whole chapters dedicated to other characters which are lead characters of other book .. so you get me what I mean).

This book have only two plus points - hot alpha Sloan and at some places it was funny to read.

I also get bored when it is same old story ... Hero is not good enough for Heroin and bla bla .. its the case almost in all the books of this series.

Also I want to point out it is Paranomal romance and Not Erotic Paranormal romance .

While reading I skimmed and skip most of the parts which where taking me off from Sloan and Becky's sotry. I like Sloan as lead character and alpha that he is but other than that nothing special in this book.

Against his better judgment, Sloan now has a secretary, which he really needs. What he doesn’t need is the soft heart he has for her. Recently divorced, Becky really needs a job and is determined to make Sloan happy with her work. What she doesn’t need is another man in her life. They are both going get what they don’t realized they really need.

Katrina, a half-breed newly turned vampire, having nothing else is desperately trying to fit in as a Warrior. Blaze had turned her and now seem to be the only one who seems to care what happens to her.

Meanwhile, in the background, some anti-vampire humans are putting hits on all Warriors and trainees.

Fave scenes: Becky’s scooter, the bird shit, the bat cyclone and Steve discovering his power.

Sloan and Becky

I didn’t feel like this was really Sean’s story. I felt it was half his & Becky’s and half Blaze & Katrina’s. However, it really was great to get to know Sloan a little bit better. It’s wonderful how each Warrior is changed for the better when they find their mates. They are still fierce if not more so because they have more to live for. They are laser focused with precise objective to obtain their agenda.
Becky really is a perfect fit for Sloan. Truly love how she is able to go toe to toe with his Warriors. Because obviously his mate would need to be strong and able to hold her own while dealing with them. Way to go Steve! Congrats on your awesome power!

This is a good read. It includes all the warriors and the occasional appearance of their mates.

Sloan is the leader of the VC. He has been watching his warriors getting mated, but he is too busy with his responsibilities to even consider finding a mate. So he thought until a fiery redhead by the name of Becky becomes his secretary. He is attracted to her from the ouset, but fights his attraction to her. Becky is just as attracted to him. How long can they fight this attraction?

There is quite a lot about Blaze and Katrina. It sometimes takes the focus off Sloan and Becky. Otherwise it's a good read with Steve and his surprise revelation and the humour that goes with it.
