I'm so glad a book like this exists! That said i think it'd be better for someone not familiar with the series. I'm a big fan, but reading about all the stuff I knew about got old quick, as well as interfered with my choices. They say your choices matter a lot and how they can change the main story line, but it wasn't as much as they made it seam like it would be. That said they did some interesting things both with the carry over items and affinity from choices you made previously. I wanted them used more and they weren't.

Over all it was a fun book! It fleshed out the world and took pains to bring the readers up to speed before the hectic battle. During the battle your choices could bring you all over the place, but that fit well with the nature of the story.

Look carefully at the pictures!!! Some are from the manga, but other's give you an extra choice to use!!!

Having not read a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book since elementary school, it took me a while to get back into the format - plus this is much more advanced than the ones I used to read, more like a combination of CYOA and tabletop RPG. While it helps to have a basic knowledge of AoT, you technically can use this as a gateway to the series.

I may or may not have stayed up until 3:00AM reading this, fun highlights include becoming Titan fodder twice third time made it through the whole story without becoming Titan fodder.

It appears even reading this my want to save Eren and Armin may have led to some questionable choices I regret nothing. This book was a riot.

I am the main character in the book, titans are antagonist
I died saving my friend Arvin
Arvin is feeling sad because he got saved but the person who saved him died
The mission so far was to defeat the titans
the story is set beyond a wall and it is in the 850s.
I predict that the titans will take over humanity.

I loved this play your way book and how it immerses you in the world of AOT! There were some great options, you can even prevent the deaths of characters that died in the manga, and I loved the writing style and illustrations.

"This is an Attack on Titan adventure book. You, the reader, will enter the world of Attack on Titan to fight and survive. You are the protagonist of this book. The choices you make will determine what happens in the story. You are a member of the 104th Training Corps, a nameless soldier fighting in the Battle of Trost. The battle against the overwhelmingly powerful Titans is not an easy one. A single wrong move could lead to your grisly death on the field."

This was actually really entertaining.

I've never read any of these "Choose Your Own Adventure" books before, so I didn't really know what to expect, as far as complexity goes. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the different scenarios you could take and all of the options to choose from.

As per the opening quote, the adventure is basically a retelling of the Battle of Trost arc from the first three volumes of the Attack on Titan manga (or the first 13 episodes of the Attack on Titan anime...well, more specifically episodes 4-13). But this adventure could go in a number of different directions. It could, more or less, follow the events from the manga. Or it could be a chain of events that could give the story either a better or worse ending than the original story. It depends on which characters you choose to follow or talk to, what locations you go to, or what actions you take, which it seems like half of them will get you (or someone else) killed.

Seriously, pretty much the entire time I was reading this I was nervous about what options to pick. I found that there were some options that you thought would be okay to pick, but nope, you'd be dead. In the my first time reading this, I died twice. Thankfully one of them was more due to heroics than just making a bad decision. And then there were two other times where I nearly died.

Overall, this was a fun book, in a dark and nerve-wracking kind of way. I definitely read this again to see what other scenarios I'll find myself in.
