Dark Warrior Mine
When Andrew is forced to retire from active duty, he believes that all he has to look forward to is a boring desk job. His glory days in special ops are over. Finally finally finally. I’ve been dying to get more of Andrews POV. I like how he’s not immortal ( yet anyways ) and still manages to contribute more than most. And I just picture him as this super hot older man with old bullet wounds gosh. He sounds yummm!
Nathalie a 30 year old virgin? What the heck? Not even a kiss? And she’s a apparently hot? Almost far fetched I guess unless you count her talking to herself all the time but hey, Andrew needs him someone!
Bhathian, I’m praying for you dude. I can’t wait till him and Andrew can tell Nathalie about everything going on, this book ended with me hoping Nathalie doesn’t do jeopardize her or Andrews future happiness or I will be pissed! Let’s not forget to thank Jackson ( the 17 year old immortal) for helping Nathalie around the bakery so her and Andrew can have time to work on that virgin status.
And let’s not forget Anandur I have loved him since the series started ( i always fail to mention his name because I always forget how to spell it) and I’m a little upset that I didn’t see his happy own story in the line up I’ve read. But let’s hope he finds what he’s looking for.
Overall 5 stars, I laughed a lot and enjoyed the sex scenes. ( my bf kicked me out of bed for laughing so loud) cant wait to read the next.

This series started out really strong, but I feel like it’s slowed down for the last several books. I keep waiting for more to happen but it doesn’t. I was looking forward to reading Andrew and Nathalie’s story, but I’m tired of how the characters actually talk and how the romance is developed. The women are all too helpless/damsel in distress, and the men are all one dimensional. The characters have started to sound like each other and when they try to speak romantically, it just comes across as pervy for some reason. I’m disappointed that the series has nothing else to offer other than drama. I started reading it because it’s labeled as “paranormal” but other than biting girls and super human strength that never matters, there’s really nothing else special about it. I read through the short descriptions of the other books in the series and I think I’m good. Maybe the story picks up, but I don’t think I can continue it.

The dialogue is dark and there are harrowing rescues, battles with the clan’s mortal enemy and plenty of side stories. It’s the humor and sizzling sexcapades that gives this often dark plotted storyline relief. Reading this series in order is a must.
The audible edition is once again left to the very capable voice of Charles Lawrence who handles all the voices but he’s especially great at the immortal males who he gives an extra special deep inflection but he’s also good with the female voices.

Continuing because I am hooked by the set up like a soap opera. This couple is the least interesting so far but I am intrigued by the way these immortals are being discovered.

Love the development of Andrew and Nathalie's relationship. They are so great together. The passion is fire. Watching their relationship blossom at such a nice pace is so refreshing.
Nathalie is a great character with many sides to her. Not only is she independent and strong and capable, she is also very naive, vulnerable and a little insecure. However, it is quite understandable given her situation and how closed off she has had to be her entire life.
Andrew is so patient and understanding and genuine, you can't help fall in love with this MAN!
Hot and steamy intimacy.
This has certainly become a soap opera type series. You get caught up and can't wait to get to the next book in the series.
If you are into the 1 and done style books, then this is definitely not for you. If you are looking for closure at the end of each book, like stand alone books, this is not for you.
But if you are into a long journey, soap opera style cliffhangers, and knowing the series will continue, then this is a series for you. We are still getting to know each character as they appear. We still get previous characters making appearances. There isn't much Paranormal going on yet, but we can see things are just getting started.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter in this series.

To be honest, I’m not enjoying the story of Andrew and Nathalie very much ( I actually had to go back and check her name because I already forgot. I literally just closed the book.)
Nathalie is overworked virgin who’s never been kissed. She takes care of her Demented father full time and can’t even leave the house for a minute without him. She’s poor and sad and basically miserable. She talks to voices in her head and she’s a little bit crazy and a lot annoying. I don’t appreciate the virgin trope. And since neither of these characters are immortal, being true-love mates is a bit far fetched and ridiculous.
I’m reading this book because the story line itself is fun. I want to know more about what happened to Eva. I want Bhathian to tell Nathalie that he’s her real father. I wanna know what the Doomers have to do with this whole thing. I like Andrew, I became attached to him in earlier books…I just don’t care about Andrew and Nathalie together. I wanna read more Kian and Sissy. Their story was fantastic and the best part of this series by far.

Lucas/dark warrior mine
A good paranormal series that needs to be read in sequal order in order to understand the dynamic of immortal souls vs. The mortal humans, and how they are managing to survive among the humans with two clans, one good, other evil. This is a power play of a ananni clan with kian running his clan for Annanni the matriarch against the dommers the evil clans who wants to take over humans and kian and his people trying to stop them and then you have those humans who has vampire genes but not turned yet , that kian and his people are looking for to help build his army. And then you have a problem with dormant if they are too old they could die during the transition of being immortal. Very good story. And I'm not usually into the paranormal type stories, but like this one.

Dark Warrior Mine KU/bought 386 pgs **** 6/23/21 Andrew & Nathalie
4 stars. I enjoyed the story of Andrew and Nathalie as well as Bhathian. It was a little slow going, quite a bit of filler thrown in there also but I did enjoy the beginning of their relationship. Hopefully, in the next book, all the secrets will come out and Andrew will transition and all will be good with them. I do worry about Bhathian, somewhat obsessed with finding Eva. There was very little of the previous characters in this book which I wanted more of. Sex was good, too much of the oral for me though. I would rather have to hot, romantic sex scenes. We learned a little more about the enemy, Sebastian and his odd needs and wants. I am sure there will eventually be the big conflict between the 2 sides of the immortals but it’s still just building a little at a time. Looking forward to the next book.

Very addictive!
Wow! Things are heating up! Andrew has promised Bhathian that he would help him to find the mystery woman from 30 years ago and to find the child that she was pregnant with. He does find the daughter, Nathalie, but her mother disappeared 6 years before. On the surface it seems that Eva, Nathalie's mother, is an immortal but Kian is certain that they know where all the immortal women are. It becomes vital that they find Eva since Nathalie could be a dormant.
While all this is going on Sebastian, the Doomer leader, is soon going to be a big problem.
To really appreciate these stories you need to read them in order from the beginning. If you are a fan of the Black Dagger series you will love this!

Dark Warrior Mine is OK... (Possible Spoilers?)
... It's not as exciting as the others. I like that Andrew has a love interest (and one that matches the premonition Syssi had about him). I think I like it even more that Nathalie (said love interest) is Bhathian's long lost daughter.
The only feeling of danger to me was the waiting-for-the-other-shoe-to-drop feeling, knowing that Sebastian and his Doomers are around, Andrew is still mortal, and now young Jackson could potentially be a target. But then, it ends on "tune in tomorrow for the next episode..."
I think I'd prefer fewer books that were longer and some conclusions to the ongoing cliffhangers. I plan to continue the series for the time being and I would definitely recommend the first books up to this point.

3.5 stars. This is book 7 in the Children of the Gods series. I have to concede they have grown on me and I can't put them down. Which is both frustrating and amusing.
This is the story of Nathalie, a determined 30 year old who is working a full time job whilst also caring for her father, who suffers from dementia. She isn't what she seems... she hears the voices of the dead.
The story really starts when Nathalie's biological father slinks onto the scene to meet her and brings his friend, Andrew, along too. her real father is too nervous to meet her for the first time because he doesn't want to freak her out but his mate Andrew and Nathalie hit it off.
Using the resources and support networks at their disposal, both men do their best to support Nathalie and her adoptive father with dementia.
The question remains... Is Nathalie one of the immortal dormant? or is she suffering from mental health problems?
The story is interesting, heartbreaking, challenging and disturbing.
I love the stories and conversations about concent in these books. Whilst I struggle with the mirror of human sex trafficking and sexual abuse. The author uses then to show healthy/unhealthy relationships. However, this story has some pretty dark undertones.
If you have any issues with mental health, abuse (primarily sexual), or are currently struggling with a family member with dementia then this story is probably not one for you.
Regardless, be warned these books are so frustrating and yet addictive. I need to know what happens but at the same time it drives me mad that I have to keep reading because there are no breaks in the story.

Bhathian plays "find the lady".
Bhathian finds his daughter with Andrew's help. Not that he's told her yet, not the sort of info you can just spring on someone, along with the news that she might be an Immortal. Now he's desperately trying to find Eve, her mother, who disappeared some years ago. Meanwhile, Andrew has fallen for her, to the extent that he's considering transitioning for her, even though it could be dangerous for him. Personally, I would do it like a shot but Andrew is a bit of a dweeb! Can't believe he was a daring soldier & secret squirrel for so long, he just seems so lacklustre! Still, the joy of this series is the scope of the characters, there's something there for everyone.

Syssi's older, mortal brother Andrew is falling in love and meeting his match in Dark Warrior Mine, Book 7. His possible mate just happens to be a possible Dormant, which complicates things a little, especially since she is completely unaware of her heritage. Nathalie and Andrew's courtship take up the bulk of the book: it is by turns sweet, sensitive, funny and HOT. I love how Ms. Lucas continues to bring most of her characters from book to book, allowing her readers a constant glimpse into their lives. This series is so refreshing, and enjoyable I am reading it nonstop EVERY day - and probably will until the final book ends....

Sweet
Andrew finds his soul mate.
This series is a three book storyline but continues on with other characters after this one is Andrew's but sometimes it feels dragged out you can't even claim slow burn romance because sex happens fast. I found this one out of character for Andrew yes he was special ops so use to can't talk about it.but he is a lie detector so he hates lies so you would think he would be true in his personal life, also her real dad is immortal so I would of been fast to tell her, anything different is playing games with trust.

This one threw me…
After discovering Annani’s secret back when Syssi was transitioning, it’s hard to wrap my head around the theory of Eva’s status. Though, all signs point to it being a valid theory. Hopefully we will find out for sure in the next one.
Anyway, so many things are happening at the same time that most have been put on the back burner and only mentioned briefly in a paragraph or two, sometimes with a POV chapter from someone involved. Hopefully we het some more intel on those things as well.

All aspects of life
I really enjoyed how dementia was weaved into this story! I work in senior memory care and loved the paranormal twist to this under researched diesease! I have read the series in order so I think I know where its he@ding, consequence of to much thalling? Can't wait to see if my hypothesis to the story line is correct! I'm hooked.
After reading the first few (6) books in this series I was hooked. But, I didn't want to pay to continue the series. A coworker got me kindle unlimited for Christmas and the complete series is available. I had to give her another hug today for my amazing gift. These stories are pretty awesome. I love the relationships, the action, the sex, and the humor. I couldn't ask for more.

Boring
The sweetness is getting old. The couples journeys are too smooth, the storyline is dull, even the sex makes me roll my eyes. What happened to the promise of macho manliness that the first couple of books allude to? The books don’t end well, and there’s just not enough actual action. I was so excited to see such a long series, hoping to get lost in this world, but I’ve been let down exceptionally.
The sweetness is getting old. The couples journeys are too smooth, the storyline is dull, even the sex makes me roll my eyes. What happened to the promise of macho manliness that the first couple of books allude to? The books don’t end well, and there’s just not enough actual action. Been here before
Love this series and it has been a while, but this isn't my first time through. I still anxiously await each new installment and I adore many of the directions the story is heading, but wish Lucas could make them into individual parcels and grant us SOME long term resolutions every year or so. Re-reading this book is like visiting old friends. Love these characters!

Book 7 is only half of Nathalie and Andrew's story which is continued in Book 8. To thoroughly enjoy this series all books need to be read in order. The intricate detail of all the key characters is vital in understanding this immortal world. I am looking forward to Book 8!

Got to LOVE Andrew!!!!!
Andrew and Natalie our possibly dormants, but our they to old for the process... They are falling deep for each other. So they'll live out their lives as a normal couple or live an immortal life together. Natalie is one loyal and brave woman and so is Andrew. I hope they make it together.

Absolutely Love It!!
Wow, Andrew and Nathalie's story is so good!! I could not put this book down at all. I am in love with Andrew's attentiveness to Nathalie's needs. Their love story is so addictive to read. Andrew is such a perfect gentleman with the right amount of manliness. This so far is my favorite of the series. I can not wait to start the next book!!!

Oh, I love the romance in this book. Most ladies loves the romance of a budding relationship, and sometimes they have to get down right kinky...😉😉. So happy that Natalie is receptive to bring loved by Andrew. He's good for her. Where does the mystery baby come from in Syssi's premonition? Gonna be interesting...yay.

I am loving this series, and am excited to read this arc of the series. I'm very fond of Andrew and am hoping he has a great story.
The only thing still bothering me is the editing of these books, with awkward phrasing. I know this author is self-published, but the books could really use some editing comb-overs...

I am so in love with this series. I love the way each set of characters' story is written in 3 parts, while still incorporating all the others as well. I also love the way the stories seem to set up the next couple. Nathalie's story is a little more complex, factoring in her mother and father. Andrew feels the pull almost immediately. So far, just a few incidental little hurdles in their blossoming relationship. Jackson is going to be a favorite of mine, I can feel it.

Having got this far I expected the story to be built up a little better then it is. It seems every single book is building and has not yet gotten to the bass foundation but that's not a very bad thing it just means there is a lot of recapping and references. I am still enjoying the series and moving forward.
